It has helped to keep track of grades and manage assignment submissions. Cons The messaging tool does not allow for response back within the system. As a result, I have to send emails to my students from an email client to ensure that they are able to respond with any questions. The system only allows you to send emails to students from your institution generic email account. There is no easy way to redirect their replies back to the teacher's private email other than sending emails from the teacher's own private email account without College Office having access to that account... Pros CO maintains pertinent information for smaller, certificate programs like ours is presently, as well as having options for larger programs. Reports are fairly intuitive if not obvious and easy to create. Cons The option to designate a student as a new or fist time enrollee or not, formerly was a part of the initial entry for each semester. It no longer is and now shows all as new and must be edited to change if they are not. Obviously we are basically very pleased with the program overall. As far as the number of clicks, we already streamlined some of this in a recent release a few weeks ago and we will continue to look for shorter paths whenever possible. The system is extremely user friendly, meets all of our needs, and the customer support and responsiveness is outstanding. Cons There is nothing that we are dissatisfied with. We have been able to provide feedback regarding ease of use and have had some of our suggestions implemented. We look forward to working with SEMAFOX and College Office for years to come. Pros The online functionality makes distribution of schedules and report cards a breeze, no more printing schedules for each student the first day of class. The interface is clean and easy to navigate. Cons The cost of custom reports can escalate quickly if your needs are specialized. Response from Vendor May 4, 2017 Hi Brian, It takes from 1 to 5 hours, depending on the complexity, to create a custom report for a school, and based on your feedback we have lowered the hourly rate for this service to $50/h. So a new custom report would usually cost you anywhere from $50 to $250 (one time fee). We are also investigating the possibility to incorporate in the future a user friendly report generator that would let you create your own reports. Note also that you can always download a copy of your database from our cloud every night and use MS Access to design your own reports. The process of refreshing a local copy of the database from our cloud can be entirely automated and we can assist you with this. Thank you for your feedback. GC Glen C.
