Pros: WhiteCoat Medical Group has been using PrognoCIS EMR system for about a year now, since launching our healthcare services. We use both their web EMR, mobile EMR, and Revenue Cycle Management. WhiteCoat offers medical home visits via our patient web platform where patients can utilize to make appointment requests. WhiteCoat providers are always on the go, thus requiring a simple and easy-to-use mobile EMR that can be used to chart the home visit on the go. We've been using PrognoCIS' mobile EMR, which served us very well. The reason why we continue to use PrognoCIS is because of the numerous customizable features that we can implement to tailor the system to our medical group's needs. For example, we can bundle CPT codes as a custom CPT code that our providers can select, but more importantly, these CPT codes can be customized to be arrange alphabetically and to show up first when our provider get to the CPT code assessment and plan section. In addition to that, we can add various assessment and plan templates that our providers can use to quickly document things on the go. PrognoCIS also helps with the creation and implementation of such templates. We use both web EMR and the mobile application EMR. We use the web EMR for electronic prescriptions and when there needs to be more detailed charting, but the mobile application EMR, which is an iPhone app is also connected with the web EMR, is mainly used by our providers to chart while on the go on their iPhone or iPad. The mobile EMR is incredibly user friendly and intuitive. They also have a patient portal system that our patients also utilize to message the provider and also for patients to access their medical records on their phone. The patient portal is both web and mobile. PrognoCIS' tech stack is robust and covers all the necessary platforms to efficiently and effectively chart. I highly recommend it.

Cons: The only thing I wish from PrognoCIS is an updated app with e-RX feature on the iOS application EMR, but after speaking with a PrognoCIS representative, there's a new version coming out. Looking forward to seeing it!

Recommendations to other buyers: PrognoCIS also has Revenue Cycle Management, which we use, in addition to their technology platform. The billing system is seamlessly built into both the web and mobile EMR, which serves us well. It makes billing easy. Also, their billing managers take care of all our reimbursement needs. PrognoCIS is always willing to work out a Revenue Cycle Management deal that works for us, while providing us with great rates for over 25 EMR licenses for both web and mobile. No other EMR company is like this. I highly recommend that all medical groups consider PrognoCIS, and request a demo from Julia Young, if possible. This EMR system will serve you well now and in the future. In addition to the customizable feature, PrognoCIS' customer service is excellent. We've been working with Julia Young, who is a System Implementation Manager, and she is the key personnel who helped train all 25 providers on how to use the system, and she is the go to person to troubleshoot how to customize the EMR towards our operational needs. Julia is one of the main reasons why we continue business with PrognoCIS. She's available by email, phone, and online meetings. She always tries to squeeze a meeting in, despite her busy schedule. She knows the system inside out, and is patient to learn our medical operations, so that she can tailor and further customize the EMR to make our medical operations and logistics more efficient.

Comments: My name is Dr. Roberto E. Puente, DPM, I own and operate a small solo, but very busy, long-term care podiatry practice that has been using PrognoCIS since July 2011. All patient encounters take place at nursing homes and assisted living facilities, so when we decided to go paperless and started to shop around for an EMR system, it became very clear to us that a cloud or web-based system was the way to go. After reviewing many systems, and taking many demos, we decided to go with PrognoCIS because it seemed like a very user-friendly system, with adequate and knowledgeable support staff, and very affordable when compared with other systems in the market at that time. After over two years of using the system, let me tell you that it has been the single best decision that my practice has made! It has proven to be everything that we expected from an EMR and more!! Other colleagues opted for specialty-specific, much more expensive systems, only to find themselves abandoned after the company closed or sold, and were left without reliable tech support. The training/implementation period went very well. We were very fortunate to get such a knowledgeable implementer that was very patient with my skeptical nature, and made sure we where all ready to use the system in all its capabilities before we went live. The system is very easy to customize to any practice scenario, we are able to fully document even complex patient encounters in a matter of minutes. The progress notes produced are clear, professional, and we constantly get compliments on our accurate and timely documentation from other medical professionals and nursing staff. The electronic prescription module is extremely easy to use. The EMR/Billing interface has proven to be seamless and extremely accurate. We were able to do without our billing service and process all claims in-house after a few months. Communication with the clearinghouse has been flawless in all aspects. We actually just achieved the Gold Standard of Revenue Cycle for Medical Practices award from our clearinghouse (Gateway EDI), which means that 99% of claims submitted are error free! The system has very nice tools that allow you to achieve meaningful use with ease and confidence. PrognoCIS has allowed my practice to grow, while allowing me more time to actually do what I like; treat patients instead of getting slowed down with repetitive documenting, billing and administrative chores. I wish I could tell you more about my experiences with their tech support, but to tell you the truth, I haven't had to call them in over a year. I am very glad to see that Bizmatics has continuously grown over the last couple of years and are now consider a top EMR vendor/manufacturer. I don't want to make it seem like it was all peaches and cream, implementing and training for a new EMR is a stressful task for any practice, regardless of size and specialty. That is why is so important to make sure you have a strong, knowledgeable support team behind you. We did have our minor difficulties at the beginning, particularly with the fax application and some issues with the automated uploading of ERA's from the clearinghouse. Both these issues have been fixed long ago, and we have been able to fax in and out of the EMR without any issues for over a year. The same thing with the ERA uploading, it has worked flawlessly for almost two years. I am so glad that we chose PrognoCIS and also very thankful to Bizmatics for such a great product.

Comments: Just to note this is our 3rd EMR system and by far better then the others. After spending a large amount of money on "in office" servers, technical support contracts, maintenance. We were at wits end, and finally at the end of the contract. This system was recommended to us and within 3 months we were up and running and able to cancel the other, without missing a beat at a much lower cost. One more thing, we just moved our practice after 34 years, the convenience of only having to plug in our computers and log on was GREAT!! no IT techs or moving installers needed to bring EMR online. BEST MOVE WE EVER MADE.

Pros: PrognoCIS is the perfect EMR/Billing system for us. The remote access from Desktop to mobile is so convenient we don't have to worry about waiting til the next day to access a patient chart. We are a solo practice and with this system being so user friendly, we were able to tailor it to our practice. I like that it has several features, and we are able to utilize only what we need. Big shout out to the technical customer service personal are wonderful, we have only had a few format problems but were able to solve in a timely matter. Also, very easy to use with The Dragon dictation system.

Cons: The only thing I can think of is the few times the system went down, but since we are cloud based this can be expected. It never lasted more then few minutes.

Pros: We have been with PrognoCIS for 5 years after experiencing an epic failure with another EHR solution. Our practice is a small private medical office and flexibility is paramount to optimizing our functionality. We were looking to stay clear of the old large dinosaur solutions most prevalent in the EHR market and we found PrognoCIS. Our relationship with PrognoCIS has been one of growing appreciation of each of our requirements in order to work toward a common goal, clinic efficientcy. What we like most about PrognoCIS is the adaptability or customization of the product. This takes some effort at implementation and continues to be maluable as we fine tune our processes to be more and more efficient. I particularly like that there are certain aspects that we can tweak to meet our current needs.

Cons: There are a tremendous number of reports but sorting through them is a challenge. I struggle with understanding the logic with their naming conventions. The good news is that there has been significant improvement with the "Tech Support" so the response time is more reasonable. I appreciate that Bizmatics continues to work on communication skills with the end user and the tech support team. To provide the correct solution one must first understand the issue. My understanding is that this is an industry challenge but Bizmatics has made concerted efforts to improve customer communications with tech support.

Recommendations to other buyers: Malleability; Many of the "Old" systems are stuck and struggling to be adaptable to the newer technologies. Consider whether the product adapts to your clinic flow or if YOU have to change the flow to adapt to the EHR solution.

Pros: It is a very comprehensive EMR (and billing system) with just about every feature I can imagine, without slowing me down. You can activate, or hide whichever features you wish. It communicates beautifully with all my labs, physicians and other vendors. The fact that it is compatible with Windows and Apple, has a very nice IPhone app for both EMR and patient portal.

Cons: The reporting on the clinical side does not currently allow me to create my own reports, even though there is a large library to choose from. On the billing side, I am able to customize them nicely, so I think it should not be long until that is addressed

Overall: We have been using PrognoCIS since 2007 and found it very easy to get up and going on. We were assigned knowledgeable staff who understood our needs and helped us to configure the system for optimum effect in our daily tasks. Support has always been very responsive and since their transition to being more US based support, the communication is even better.

Recommendations to other buyers: We have also found the staff to be sincere and prompt in taking care of our requests and this in combination with being a fully capable EMR makes it an easy decision.

Pros: The software offers a systematic approach to billing with easy access to all the various components of the process. It is easy to maneuver from screen to screen to input the data or to review and analyze a patient's account. The reports are comprehensive to give a full analysis of the practice and enable you to evaluate all aspects. Support will develop specialized reports to meet your individual needs so it is customized for you and your practice, which is a wonderful feature. When I speak to patients on the phone, I can easily discuss their entire account with them with a clear picture of what has been billed, what has been paid by insurance, and what a patient's responsibility is.

Cons: I would like the program to have the capability of making all the claims ready to send with just a click of a button. I understand the logic of having to review each claim for accuracy before sending to the insurance carrier, yet, once reviewed, it would be nice not to have to individually check off each claim to be ready to send. With the transition to ICD-10, the new updated version of PrognoCIS has changed the way you input the diagnosis. The change is a bit more time-consuming. I am hopeful that with the next update, this will be addressed to enable one to quickly enter or select the diagnosis.

Recommendations to other buyers: When evaluating software, one must take into account the needs of the different individuals utilizing the program: the doctor, the front office staff, the back office, and the billing staff. Unfortunately, everyone is looking for something different within the program. Yet, I feel PrognoCIS integrates well on all levels and seems to address the concerns and needs of all the various staff members.

Pros: The system is easy to use, I can customize myself on the fly and I like the ability to be able to access on my PC, Apple (Mac or IPad at home) or via IPhone App. The clinical flow over to the financial billing side, is a breeze. After using a few other systems, I saw the designers of PrognoCIS truly understand how a clinical office functions and each time this system has met our changing needs. The support turnaround has been responsive and their knowledge of the product and how it applies to our situations, has always been excellent. We have been with PrognoCIS since 2007 and have seen them always continue to improve, with excellent program features and more recently, the shifting of their support more towards the US. It is rare to find such sincereity in companies today.

Cons: Hard to say anything negative. I know creating good software is never easy and there are always going to be moments of frustration, but they have been far and few between and handled quickly and well.

Recommendations to other buyers: I first saw via on-line demo and would recommend worth the time to take a look, it will open your eyes to what a system should do.

Until this latest update, the system was very good. We were satisfied.

Pros: At the presentation, it looked simple, straightforward, and user-friendly. Now, after updates, it is much more complicated and bulky. At the beginning, we had one technical support person, who was always available, helpful, and patient, so we really worked as a team. In general, the product is reasonably functional, satisfying our needs.

Cons: It requires too many clicks on different pages to complete some steps (eg., the Medications Section on the Face Sheet). There are too many different pages to be completed in general; it takes too much time to finish up a file. We don't have personal tech support person anymore; the ticket system is not that quick or efficient, and sometimes tickets get closed without being solved satisfactorily for us. There are open tickets since 04/14. To get a technical support person now takes much longer, up to two days. All updates and changes change the system to the worse for users. Checkboxes are spread all over the page or even on different pages; simple and familiar symbols are switched to be more complicated. On the other hand, when we, as users, asked to change or simplify certain things, we were told that it is impossible, or our requests were sent to the engineers and died there. The latest update was not presented as a serious and complicated one. Training webinars were not recommended to take before its implementation, so the first week was a nightmare, and the first day was a total failure (with a full schedule!).

Recommendations to other buyers: Come to a practice using it already, but don't just visit, stay for at least half of the day and watch how they are working.

Comments: Stay away from Prognocis! Their customer support is abysmal and getting any response from them is like pulling teeth. Bottom line is their management of our data cost our practice thousands of dollars. Based on my experience, if Prognocis was the only EHR out there, I would skip it and use paper charts.

Pros: Hard to isolate any pros from among the mountain of cons, but I'll try... I never had to change my Prognocis password once in the whole six years I used the program. That's all I've got.

Cons: Data breach - their system was not secure enough to withstand a hacker attack, resulting in a major data breach. They notified our practice of the breach of their system and then declined to assist with any of the resulting fallout, costing our company many thousands of dollars. They did help other practices that were victims of the breach, but refused to help us clean up the mess they made. Customer support is in India. Reps are difficult to understand and incredibly slow to help. At the time we dropped Prognocis in 2017, they still had multiple support cases (trouble tickets) open and unsolved from 2013. The program looks like it's from the 90s. It is not intuitive, is difficult to navigate, and the output reports come out looking unprofessional. Although we were advised that training was included, we did not receive training from Prognocis when we onboarded with them, leaving us to fend for ourselves in learning their bewildering program. Service is way overpriced for what you get. There are so many better programs out there for less money and trouble. After terminating service with Prognocis, they took well over a month to give our patient records to us, and would not give us access to them in the meantime. This resulted in our practice having NO access to our patients' charts for over a month. When I brought my concerns about this to Prognocis's HIPAA compliance officer, I was rudely and condescendingly dismissed.

Comments: Been using it for most than two years. My major issue has been with appropriate training, support at the site, poor remote support (not located in US) and delayed responses. If you have to connect ancillary equipment, such as printers, ID scanners, etc the software has very limited options. It only work with windows explorer and even though it crashes several times a day. Once you know it is not difficult to use but in order to get to that level at least we had to go over many trials and errors since the support once installed was almost inexistent and the tutorials were not of help.

Pros: With the proper support and training it could be a very helpful tool. Is not difficult to use.

Cons: Poor and deficient Customer Service. Almost non existent support in site, mostly remote. The customer service appears to be located outside the US and there are many communication issues. The response can be delayed. Looks like they have no commitment once they sell you the product. In one occasion I asked them to configure something for our practice and their response was that was too complicated and not economically viable for them. The software is as good as the configuration. A poor configuration will result in a less easy to use program. Expect a delay for the patient to see the doctor. In our case we have hired an IT personnel to help deals with the issues since once you start EHR it does not make sense to go back. Where we are located the resources apparently are limited and there is a high turnover issue with the technicians that have been assigned. Currently there is no Tech that supports our area. In case of an issue you need to generate a ticket and wait that hopefully they will reply.

Recommendations to other buyers: If you want a good software this is one that is good. However, that is not what should you think at the long term. You need a good EHR with a company committed to support it. This is not the case. It might not have as good qualities as this one but you can manage if they brings you a timely supporting team and good training resources. I will go with an EHR that can be accessed remotely with other applications besides Explorer and that will Not have as much limitations in terms of the equipment that you can use. Remember that your practice will be directly impacted with the EHR implementation.

Comments: We have had this software since 2012. There have been several hiccups that we have had to overcome. I believe we were their first high volume multidisciplinary practice they contracted with. Although we had training on the software and then implemented a year later, there are some workflow issues. We are not your "standard" office workflow and I am sure it is challenging for their IT/support team.

Pros: ease of access. PM/bill side, I love the fact that you can access every task from one screen, regardless of which screen you are in.

Cons: Training videos has improved tremendously over the last couple of years on the EMR side, although "new user training" is not geared for the new employee training. The PM/Bill module does not have enough training videos for adequate training and common workflow, although this has been improved over the years as well. They are definitely coming along as they grow. I do not like the fact that we can never get in touch with anyone in tech support or billing and always having to leave a message for their return call. Since we are cloud based, if Prognocis goes down, our office is down. If you can have an onsite server, I would probably recommend that.

Recommendations to other buyers: Make sure that you have all of your template is driven notes, letters, and forms ready for implementation to ensure a smooth transfer. We, unfortunately, were not ready but this was definitely not because of the implementation staff, but our issue since we had to keep postponing the implementation date.

Comments: So far I think this is a great EMR, a few glitches here and there but that is to be expected. The ease of use is a plus and great customer service so far.

Pros: Ability to log in to the program from any computer, anywhere. Efficient customer service Ease of use availability of customer service or questions for other departments, my emails are always answered in a timely manner Live chat for technical issues

Cons: I have a hard time understanding most of customer service tech, they fix what is needed but sometimes its hard to communicate exactly what you need. When creating a template, I find some of the process a little confusing, there are so many different places you have to input the info

Comments: I was looking with my colleague for and EMR three years ago and wanted a system that was web-based to allow access from any location and avoid the issues of in office server maintenance. We found at that time Prognocis to be the best system for us. Since we are a psychiatric practice and there were no specific modules for our specialty in Prognocis, they created the specific templates for us and we use them today. As an added benefit, we have been utilizing the patient portal to help facilitate the collection and documentation of new patient information and follow ups. Our experience with the Prognocis program has been easy to learn and in general the updates have continued to improve its quality. Its greatest assets continue to be its ease of use, ease of individualizing templates for specific clinical practice needs, and continuous updates to improve and expand its usefulness. You cannot ask for a better experience with technical support. The issue is not if one needs technical support, but how is it handled. Since technical support is an essential element in any EMR use, the quality of service is a component for long term use. The response has been fast, problems solved in a short time and on rare occasions when it was more complex, sent to the development team for timely resolution. In addition, the availability of training for new and existing staff is very beneficial. I am not suggesting its a perfect system. If you will use it there will be components that may frustrate you, and you will experience technical glitches, but you always feel there are highly qualified professionals available to provide support, encouragement and solve the problem. I feel I am part of an ever evolving and improving system.

Comments: Prognocis covers all of the basics that you need in an EMR. The lower cost was important in our practice as we had limited funds and wanted a system that could sustain itself. The software continues to evolve which is great news for an ever changing environment. The face page is well later out to give you a snap shot if the patient's medical problems, history and medications. As with any EMR, this is only as good as the information you initially load from a patient so work on the front end makes the record much better!

Comments: although support is hard to understand, they always fix our issue.

Pros: It's super easy to learn and it flows well with our work flow. New providers have had no problem learning the system quickly.

Cons: honestly my complaint is that technical support is always a person who does not speak english well and super hard to understand

Comments: The Bizmatic's development team has been instrumental in assisting us to customize a solution to automate our current operations. This customization includes automation of test results from medical equipment used in our Medical Clinic, the design of a Drug & Alcohol Randomization Tool for the Work Place Drug & Alcohol Program, a design of an Employee Assistance Program module and design of a specialized Workers' Compensation module to track and report payments. The software is extremely intuitive, easy to use and easily customizable by the end-user.

Pros: Quick navigation. Affordable. Integration with external data is available. Vendor ability for customized module development. Sales, development and implementation staff are easy to work with.

Cons: Feedback is sometimes delayed as many developers are in India.

Recommendations to other buyers: This product is a valuable product if you are interested in improving your current operations. Automation is quick and offers time and money savings for your practice. I audited other EMRs who were not flexible and whose initial and support costs were 2 and 3 times the price. I highly recommend PrognoCIS.

Pros: The demo was great!

Cons: This system cost me alot with monthly fees and my IT team trying to get it to work with our brand new system. It is antiquated, slow, kicks you off the server, loses notes, does not interface with the pharmacies and generates absolutely no income whatsoever.

Overall: With so many EMR/EHR systems to choose from, and conducting hours of research, I chose the worse of the worse. No ease in use. No logic in use. No VPN to maintain settings, instead they expect a medical office not to update their computers in order to keep the original settings on internet explorer. Cannot use chrome. Cannot keep up with HIPAA regulations due to the settings inability to be updated. I felt like I was 30 years behind in computer technology. After 2 month of complaining and deciding to switch to a competitor, I received an email from the higher ups. 100 emails to late. They charged out tens of thousands of bogus charges and collected 10%. They charged me alot per month for this disaster. I switched to Athena! Best thing I ever did! Prognocis aka Bizmatics, nearly closed my doors waiting an entire month to resubmit claims. I've been with Athena for 6 weeks and have not had one claim denied and payments are coming in. They only charge you 8% of what they collect. Prognocis, on the other hand, charges permonth for poor service with no significant money collected. If it weren't for my office manager, I would have received no payments at all. Learn from my mistake. Any positive reports about this system is submitted by their staff who were once medical office staff. I'm sure this system worked well 15-20 years ago. Computers have come a long way and Bizmatics/Prognocis simply did not keep up. Did I mention the amount in IT fees I accumulated trying to get this system to work? My IT specialist finally had a heart to heart talk with me. Then I switched to Athena.

Recommendations to other buyers: Don't waste your time, energy, or your money. Go with a well known system with a proven track record.

Pros: They customize all of our templates and diagrams. We were looking for a vendor that could build an interface with our practice management system. We are a dermatology office, so we don't need all the bells and whistles as some of the other vendors out there. I honestly have to say from sales to programmers to everyone in support, this is the best software out there for everything from single doctors to a big group practice. We've had opportunities to change to vendors who are dermatology-specific, but we won't because we like this product and its functionality.

Cons: From my experience with other software IT experience, tech support tends to take to long to fix issues. But I have to say we've been with them for the past three years, the support has improved significantly, and all my questions are addressed when they do call me.

Recommendations to other buyers: It is the most affordable software, and we've seen a ton. I would say it is the most user-friendly program designed. We actually had our PM software build an interface with PrognoCIS. We love it, and we are a dermatology office. So we have a lot of different templates that are required for all of our cosmetic and medical procedures.

Pros: The implementation is excellent. You may not like the syntax of the system at first, but you can edit and alter all you'd like, as well as have custom templates set up. It takes time, but you'll get it right where you want it in time. Having used several other systems, so far, this is better by a huge margin. The support is good, implementation is excellent and it's affordable. When I requested changes to forms it was done immediately. They are very accommodating. Also, the new patient paperwork is electronic so once you save it, it incorporates into the chart note, no more transcribing. It's nice!!! You can customize anything and they are very accommodating. I am also using their RCM billing service (the fee includes the software fee when you're using it, so that's nice) and they've been pretty good so far. A little slow to process claims but overall, good.

Cons: The time it takes to get it all the way you want it, but it's worth it. I have hardly needed tech support and it has been adequate but not stellar. That could be improved.

Recommendations to other buyers: Do a trial if you're not sure. The nice thing is the customization, so if you know what you didn't like before, you can get this just where you want it. I'm impressed with the speed of the customization of forms, etc.

Pros: It is very user-friendly. Despite other EMR's that claim that they "...think like a doctor..." they actually do not. They all start with Chief Complain, which is a standard documentation pathway, exactly how the Computer Scientist would think. Most doctors, however document the chart while already having Differential Diagnosis partially materialized in their minds. This EMR allows you to do that. I have used more than 5-7 different EMR's and can attest that this one is the best I have ever used.

Cons: I do not like when the billing modules have to be purchased separately. I should be able to do my own billing with or without the company. It has to be my choice. I understand that it is a current trend for nearly all of the EHR Companies to try to also sell doctors their billing services, but still I disagree with it. Doctors who wish to do their own billing should be able to have at least the option of having their own user-friendly revenue cycle management via EHR itself and not being forced to purchase an additional module, regardless how cheap it is.

Recommendations to other buyers: Try it, Prognocis/Bizmatics give you one month free option just to try it. They have the best customer service. You would be able to document and use the product efficiently in less then one week.

Comments: When I had the demo, the software seemed pretty comprehensive.

Pros: It met all the standards of what I think I need to work efficiently. It can work on all the electronic devices, the training team is friendly and available.

Cons: The user interface could look a little more updated. The icons are very small and like an old Nintendo game character. The training and set up process is very long, expect 6-8 weeks to be safe and is the main reason I gave the ease of use rating 3 stars.

Recommendations to other buyers: Have an idea of how you want to flow IT wise and in patient contact prior to training, it can help with the set-up. Spend time developing your EHR to what you need. Shop around and get as many demos from different companies as possible to make the best decision. Realize they are in the business of sales so everything will sound great. Ask to gain control in the web demo to see if you can at least navigate the basics.

Pros: it is fairly intuitive, and there are very few pop-up screens. The business is keeping up with Meaningful Use. I like the format of the notes and the face page.

Cons: Tech support seems overwhelmed. Some issues just don't get addressed. For example, in Rx, you can auto-populate the pharmacy. Initially, all of our local pharmacies were present, and now we have pharmacies in Florida, Roswell, NM, and Amarillo, TX. So I have quit using that.I have asked for it to be fixed a couple of times, but I just don't think it is a priority. I don't like how if you type in a med and change it to PRN, all of the data you entered will change. So you have to remember to type in PRN first. If you choose long-term after typing it in, that won't happen There are times that the system is really slow. It may be a for a few hours or a day. I hope that as the system improves, this will happen less often.

Recommendations to other buyers: Take the time to play with the features. The EMR is the strongest piece of the program. E-scribing and billing are the weakest links, but I think the company is working on improve that

Pros: Once everything is set up, the view in the patient's chart makes everything easily accessible. The electronic fax receipt makes it faster for us to process the documents faster.

Cons: When we switched over to this system they promised that our patient information would be transferred over from our other system. We didn't find out until it was too late that they meant they would upload a PDF version of the patients medical history, and we would have to manually enter it into the system. The providers were constantly irritated that the information they needed was not in the patients chart, despite our efforts as staff to ensure that the information was there. The messaging system is impossible to use, making it hard to keep track of patient and staff communications. We frequently had issues with the billing system they forced us to use, which was outsourced to India. Patients constantly had problems with their billing, and we had to refer them to the contacts in India who were often hard to get a hold of. Our office billing staff was stuck fixing mistakes made by this departement that could have been avoided had they been handled in house. We constantly asked for things to be changed and made more user friendly, being told that they would fix it but never seeing any results. This program is expensive to use, and we feel like it has caused more issues than benefit.

Overall: The experience of data entry because it didn't carry over any of our old data.

Pros: I like that I have options for the work flow. I can scan via network directly into system. I can scan via desk top, or I scan one touch from an older model of scanner. I didn't have to buy new scanner. In addition, the sign in pad, ID, and label printer makes our work flow very efficient.

Cons: Honestly I can't think of anything at the moment. I've been using software for 1 year now. Everything I request is completed in a timely matter. I receive status right into my software, and I have many resources to learn more about the system.

Recommendations to other buyers: I recommend for providers and managers to give this product a chance. It's very easy to use, and customization can happen easily. The work flow is easy to follow, and it molds to your practice .

Comments: Highly disappointed! Looking for another EMR system!

Pros: Easy to use when things are going well. Initially customer service was very responsive but as the company grew, quality went down.

Cons: -Outage of EMR System for a few minutes a few times a week. -Significant slowing down of their Server almost every day. - Issues that are brought to the tech support's Attention are not followed through and cases not closed efficiently. - Recent complete outage of the entire system for 24 hours on 11/21/17 (and loss of ALL data billing, encounters, prescriptions, test reports, documents scanned etc) for a period of 48 hours just because they had no recent data back up. The company made no efforts to contact us before or after the disaster.

Pros: The best thing about PrognoCIS EMR and Bizmatics is the ease of access. No matter where I am, if a problem arises that's drawn to my attention, I can log in to help resolve the issue. Whether it's a patient note, a physician question, a lab result, an order, an x-ray result, etc., it's all at my fingertips.

Cons: The least appreciated about PrognoCIS is the when the system slows down due to maintenance or a server issue. It truly presents a problem when many patients are backed up, and it is impossible to document. When the system slows down, it slows way down.

Recommendations to other buyers: I would not look too far. You will not find many companies out there who are as competitive with pricing. Look at the small print on some of the other companies, and you will find many hidden costs that are not brought up until the end of the presentation they make you sit through. With PrognoCIS, it was upfront and to the point with pricing. Setup costs and billing procedure are based on providers and not per patient. They do not nickel and dime you!

Pros: some of the patient communication features are useful I like that I can reprogram the templates without needing a technical support person Labs from Quest and Lab corp directly to the medical record.

Cons: very unresponsive technical support. every time there is a software upgrade, previously functioning unrelated elements stop working and it takes weeks to months to get them function again. Their server is slow and I am often documenting late into the night because the slow speed makes it impossible for me to finish my notes in real time. My office internet is quite fast so the problem is not on my end. it's difficult to go from field to field- I spend my day in endless futile clicking waiting for fields to change. For example, If I and documenting the history and I want to see the weight change, I have to leave what I am doing to go to the face sheet or vitals page and it takes too long. The prescription module is not efficient.

Recommendations to other buyers: stay away from this company. They are unresponsive and expensive and the notes I generate do not reflect the quality of my work.

Pros: PrognoCIS is a good system that is very customizable to your needs. The most important part is their service. Their support has been excellent with explaining their features. They have also been instrumental in ensuring that everything went smoothly and that we were able to get everything setup an running within a month. We use the signature pad and fax out feature very well to create a paperless office. They are very knowledgeable and professional. The EMR, PM, and billing features work well. My biller seems happy as well. They have excellent support. I have been using it for almost 10 months new. I started using Dragon for the HPI and PLAN since January. Overall, we are very happy with the product and service. I would definitely recommend.

Cons: Too many clicks. But I guess that all EMRs are that way to some extent.

Pros: I appreciate the ease of developing the format for our EMR. Bizmatics has worked closely with us to help us develop what will work for us. I have worked with several EMRs in my career and have found PrognoCIS to be the one that has been most provider-friendly. Our staff here in the office also enjoys the simplicity of the program. In our staff meetings, it is frequently remarked by someone that they appreciate our PrognoCIS. Also, the assistance in coding and billing is great.

Cons: Sometimes it takes 24-48 hours turnaround time to get what we want. We sometimes forget that not everything can be instant.

Recommendations to other buyers: I would compare the final progress note with other software products. The layout of PrognoCIS is easy to read. Look at the EM coding, check out how it works, and see how you have possibly lost revenue from poor coding habits. If you have worked with other EMRs, you will quickly realize why we have selected PrognCIS from Bizmatics.

Pros: They are up to date with all of the Meaningful Use requirements and are a very affordable option. The system is very easy to navigate if you are used to a Windows platform and how Microsoft Office operates (click down, pull down options).

Cons: Getting a hold of the support staff is sometimes an adventure. Once you get a hold of them, most problems are resolved quickly. But if there is a bug in the system, it gets sent back to the engineers and takes a long time to be resolved (sometimes months). The big upgrades (version upgrade) was very hectic with a steep learning curve. There were lots of bugs in the system and lots of extra/new steps. We are back to normal functioning levels/speed now, but after much struggle.

Recommendations to other buyers: Ask how the vendor will implement the upgrades. While most upgrades were due to changes in Meaningful Use requirements, there was no dialogue with us about changes we thought were necessary.

Pros: I like PrognoCIS' ability to customize reports and templates. The ability to have our fax interface with PronoCIS is a great feature. We can easily attach a fax to a patient's record and fax out referrals, letters, etc. The electronic prescription works very well and is a terrific feature. Customer support staff is very patient and friendly. The training webinars they offer are very helpful. We feel that PrognoCIS is up-to-date with all the requirements for Meaningful Use and is always thinking of the future.

Cons: Communication was somewhat difficult at first due to a language barrier. But PrognoCIS listened to their clients, and this is much improved. PrognoCIS customer support staff has always been very patient and respectful.

Recommendations to other buyers: Switching to an EHR is very stressful at first. It is a whole new way of operation. But with the right EHR, it is well worth the initial stress.

Pros: As a specialty healthcare provider, we needed a highly-customizable Electronic Medical Records system, and PrognoCIS was able to do this for us. It is also a relatively easy system to use and to train others to use.

Cons: It can be challenging to get a response from technical support in a reasonable period of time. It's often at least 24 hours before anyone returns a phone call. If more substantial changes need to be made, such as updating documentation templates, at least 30 days are required to make changes to and implement the new template. Followup after changes are made is often poor. You have to check back with them to see if the changes have been made that you requested, because there is very little proactive communication on their part.

Recommendations to other buyers: Consider not only the product you are getting at the time of implementation, but also the followup that might be necessary after implementation.

Pros: It is customizable once I was trained. I spent weeks getting it just right for us, and it worked well. I also like our installation consultant. She has been great to work with. I also love the ARRA dashboard and feedback when closing an encounter. It makes it easy for the providers to know they have done everything they are supposed to do.

Cons: The programmers are hard to get to. They tend to fix things based on a brief description of the need. Often, the communication breaks down, and it doesn't get fixed like we need it. Then we have to start over. I would love it if I could talk to them before they make a fix or change so that I can make sure we are on the same page. Also, the fax capability gives us a lot of trouble. It's hard to know if a fax went through or failed and why.

Pros: I love how easy it is took look up anything that you need. Finding a patient's information and prescriptions are super easy and fast to look at. Scheduling, canceling, and moving appointments have never been so easy. PrognoCIS is a great system to use and very easy for beginners.

Cons: The software can have small bugs and issues sometimes. Sometimes, the system will be very slow or freeze. Also, sometimes, I wish I could edit what section to print when it comes to the summary sheet at the end of the patient's appointment. Most of the information on the summary sheet is useless for the patient and unnecessary for the patient to see.

Recommendations to other buyers: I recommend using this software. I've used two others before, but they do not compare to this one. It's very easy to use, especially if you're new to the clinic and have to pick up the software use.

Pros: I really like the customization of the templates/progress notes and procedure notes. It allows for consistency with notes and less room for error versus using a transcription service. It is comforting to know that my assigned client support representative is always available when we need her, but she also lets us know if she is going to be out and who to contact directly in her place. She understand our needs and urgency regarding issue resolution.

Cons: I do not like the billing product as much as I do the electronic record portion. Although it's easier for me to evaluate my billing personnel, the system seems a little to cumbersome.

Recommendations to other buyers: I have been using a web based free EHR program for years before making the switch to Prognocis. While the web based program was enough to document the encounter, it worked like a word processor for the most part. As my practice began to grow, I needed to have a system that can work very fast but still give the personal touch on each of the reports. Pros: PrognoCIS has alway been able to help with enhancements that make the software work for all kinds of different practices. I have used PrognoCIS for over seven years and have used it in several different specialities; they have served our office/clinic/facility very well.

Cons: I really can not say. There are somethings that cause issues for us, but as soon as I get a hold of the techs, they are alway more than willing and able to correct/adapt PrognoCIS to our needs.

Recommendations to other buyers: When you are evaluating PrognoCIS, really review it throughly. It has everything needed for both EMR and Billing in one combo. I have used several different software systems, and either they only do billing or they only do EMR, and it is hard to get software that does both and gives a provider's office what they need from the front end all the way to the back end.

Needs better customer support.

Pros: Can access EMR from any computer. Customizable to your needs.

Cons: They are all accommodating when trying to sell their product, but they drop the ball once you are a customer. It is difficult to get help from customer support, and we are often dealing with language barriers. Often the system goes down in the middle of our work day, and you can't get a rapid response. Due to current and changing insurance requirements, small changes and tweaks often need to be made. We find it a lengthy and laborious process trying to get prompt help and assistance. A better system would be to assign a contact person or support person to each account. It is most frustrating dealing with their tech support in India and different time zones. We have left messages and had them returned at odd times.

Recommendations to other buyers: Ask for a trial so you know what you are dealing with.

Pros: The best thing about the product is that it is customizable to meet our needs. The best thing about the vendor is that they are responsive to our needs and work closely with us like a partner. I like being able to merge multiple accounts with ease.

Cons: I would like more flexibility with mapping providers' schedules. In PrognoCIS, it is called Work Pattern.

Recommendations to other buyers: Our pain management practice switched from another EMR product, so I have had two different experiences. The previous vendor had a great marketing team and was very convincing that they could provide a comprehensive product with superior service. Dealing with them on a day-to-day basis was frustrating. They could not deliver on their promises. PrognoCIS has delivered. We have been using PrognoCIS for close to two years, and the service is the same as when we were preparing for our GoLive date.

Pros: I like the ease of getting through the medical records. I also like the fact that I can fax someone different attachments through the MR. That saves lots of paper and time. If I ever have an issue, technical support is always quick to answer my call, and they are always polite and courteous.

Cons: The update that just went out created lots of problems that we had to call and fix, some of which they are still working on. Also, there isn't a way to attach the patient's demographics when you are sending an electronic fax. This is very important to fax when you are sending a referral.

Recommendations to other buyers: This system is very efficient in getting you through the clicks that you have to click in order to meet Meaningful Use. If you ever have a problem, they are quick at getting back with you to fix it.

Pros: Without a doubt, I like this product for several compelling reasons. It is a very easy to use, functional, and organized system. Actually, I highly recommend all people to buy the new product from the vendor because it's really worth it and very useful at the same time. What I like about the vendor is that our rep is always willing to help the ones who are having trouble with the system, and she is very friendly.

Cons: From my perspective, everything looks perfect. I like the icons; it is very easy to do the work with the icon there. In fact, there are shortcuts to get our work done faster.

Recommendations to other buyers: My recommendations for others would be to buy it as soon as possible because it is very good and makes you feel that all the essential paperwork is in a such safe place.

Pros: It's very user-friendly. One doesn't need to be a computer savvy person to successfully utilize this program. The transition from paper files to EMR was made very smooth by the technician assigned to our practice EMR system implementation. He was very efficient and very professional skillful individual. The affordability of this EMR system is one of the best features.

Cons: The tech support needs to be more proactive. Phone calls need to be returned in a more timely matter. Although they are usually pretty good, occasionally phone calls are returned several hours after the phone call is placed.

Recommendations to other buyers: If you are looking for an EMR system that works, that's easy to use, and that has great features and excellent affordability, this is it! You will not be disappointed.

Comments: We have been using PrognoCIS since our center opened on March 1, 2011. The contracting process was very easy, implementation went smoothly, and our ongoing IT support has been incredible. IT needs specific to our center have been addressed in a timely manner and with good outcomes. It's always nice when a friendly voice answers the phone to assist with any questions we have. PrognoCIS was extremely prepared for the Medicare EHR Incentive Program, which made obtaining our incentive payment much easier than expected. We are very glad we chose to use both the EMR and Billing Module of this system. It only takes moments to file insurance claims electronically. The available billing reports are great for keeping on top of aging claims. The best feature of ProgoCIS is that we can access the system from our laptops anywhere in the world. The convenience of being able to send a secure fax/email or even order a prescription from home or on the road is great.
