Until we had this we would have to work with our head of budgeting, he was notoriously slow about submitting our expense reports and we would wait months to be reimbursed. With this new system entering everything in is very straightforward and moves the process along much more quickly. Cons One issue I have is that sometimes the "smart" part of the system recognizes a receipt and a charge against a card as two separate items and auto creates expense reports based on that instead of matching them up. The other issue is with the way our system was implemented, if there is a mistake the administrator cannot correct it for you, they send it back to you and tell you what to correct (i.e. account number, category, etc.) Review Source LS Lanni S. It's been pretty straight forward to use. Pros I like that there are add-ons available to be able to book travel right through Concur making any expenses that are incurred readily available to expense. I like that you can enter in your frequent customer numbers for things like airfare and rental cars. You can register your preferred business credit cards as well and those expenses will automatically populate so you can transfer them to an expense report. Cons The thing I like least about Concur is that when entering in hotel stays for multiple days you have to enter expenses for each day rather than putting in just the total for the whole stay. When rates are different each night, there's a lot of changing around that has to happen in order for it to come out right. Review Source CA Clarissa A. Pros What I enjoy the most about concur is the ability to upload receipts and documentation seamlessly. It makes entering expense reports a breeze. Pros I use it for Travel reservations, expense management, reimbursements , the app is also helpful for flight and hotel reminders as well as quick customer service. Also the ability to run reports for the purpose of identifying red flags in employee expenses is helpful. Cons The UI occasionally tends to be slow and takes longer to load in the desktop. This is a very rare occurrence only. I receive an email notification when new expenses are added, and its simple to create expense reports and submit. I also use this tool to book travel, and it was a breeze. I especially like booking flights, since my company has put in parameters that automatically show me flights that comply with our policy, and even flights that are the most preferred by the company. The app also lets me take photos of receipts and automatically add them to Concur, saving me time, money and letting me throw away my receipts. Cons It's not always clear what items (ex: receipt, reason for travel, etc) is needed for each item. So I try to save them and then get an error and have to reopen, but that's really a minor issue. I like that I can take a picture of my receipt and attach to an expense later. I used to have to submit and audit expense reports through excel and will not do that again. Cons It would be nice to have hover boxes over certain codes to better educate the end-user on which to use. Review Source Joel M. The automated workflows and multi-currency with support with AMEX travel really worked well for us. Pros Works great on iPhone or Android with good integration to web management tool. The OCR works 95% of the time and easy to correct and manage expenses due for company or clients. Cons The UI is okay, it doesn't look very modern and while not hard to learn wasn't initially as intuitive as some other expense software I've used. Review Source Brian C. Pros I like how easy it is to use. It makes you fill out all of the required fields, so there are rarely clarifying questions required to get reimbursed. Cons The main page is a little cluttered. There are lots of uses for Concur, but for me I use it to reimburse simple work related expenses. Maybe there could be a "favorites" section so i can get where i need to be quickly without being distracted with the other options and features. The photo receipt feature on the app is a little clunky and doesn't always get the whole receipt. I think SAP could make it easier and more friendly to use. Pros There are not many things I like about . The mobile app is helpful to load expenses receipt really quick and it is very helpful and time saving how you can choose hotels based on the on the proximity to your company locations. Cons It is not a user friendly software. It is hard to get used to use it and navigate it. Booking a trip could be a challenge as if you want to make any changes you basically need to start over. To make spenses reports a basic training is needed as it is difficult to figure it out by yourself what to do. It allows me to upload receipts and file for reimbursements. Approval process workflow is straightforward and smooth. Cons I just find this not user-friendly. I have recorded my business expense several times at different instances, yet I'm still confused when navigating through the application. Pros Concur allows for our organization to process travel and expenses efficiently and effectively. The software allows for users to import rules and policies so there is no governance needed other than effective audits. Additionally, our employees can utilize and upload receipts on mobile devices, which is a well received feature. Cons Despite the robust software, it does take a long time to correctly import all rules and policies. There are thousands of employees that use this software to not only simplify, but add ease for expenses. The mobile app for travelers is the best, just take a picture and upload it, and wha-la, it's done. In my opinion its greatest feature is the ability to snap pics of receipts while traveling and those will auto upload to your expense statement. No more trying to keep track of receipts during a long trip. Cons I found a couple of areas that weren't super intuitive. Once I understood how it worked it's simple to do going forward but I did have to get some help from an expert to figure a couple of areas out. Review Source JW Jason W. Pros This is the top-shelf of expense/travel management software. It's easy for users. Administration isn't terribly difficult. Integration is possible depending on the accounting solution. It has a lot of reporting and analysis tools. It can save a lot of time for F&A staff if the software is setup correctly. Cons It's a bit on the expensive side. Customer service isn't always the most helpful, depending on who you get. The sales team can be a bit pushy and make promises their development team hasn't released yet. Pros I like how it integrates things together so that it eliminates steps. Entering a receipt and attaching a photo of it is very easy. Also, expenses are all gathered in one spot and you can easily add them to an expense report at which point they disappear from expenses so that you don't double them up. Also, the app lets you know if you don't have all the required information for an expense. Coupled with the ExpenseIt app it's very easy to enter an expense just by taking a picture of your receipt. Expense reports are fairly easy to manage and submit. Most of the organizational and cost center information is already entered for you. Simple user interface on home page. Cons Takes a while to get used to the software and figure out how to enter items. Error correcting has sometimes proved to not be as easy as entering items. If your hotel has a different rate each night there is no way to itemize it that way. You end up having to average out the rate to make it work and if it ends up being an odd multiple you have to figure out a way to make up the difference. Approving expenses of my team members was pretty easy as well. Cons It was too complicated of a setup. I would spend far too much time creating expense reports and the app wasn't the best app to use. It was usually easier to just use the app to upload the receipt and that was it. I am traveling frequently for work and Concur provides me with the possibility to submit my expenses quickly and efficiently. Pros I love that you can use Concur both desktop and by downloading the app. It makes uploading expenses (including receipts) very each and provides managers with an easy and quick overview and confirmation possibilities. It works with different currencies and has a detailed function to itemize expenses (such as hotels). You can easily use it on the go which is perfect for frequent travelers. Cons The interface (on desktop) is not the most intuitive. It may take once or twice to get used to it (like finding previous expense reports). With improving the user-friendliness of the desktop version, Concur would be an ideal expense handling tool. Review Source Jessie D. The documentation/record system is great - you can view all your old reports for reference if needed. The status notification system is great because I got emails in real time with status updates of the report. I knew immediately if it was being reviewed, when it was approved, and when it was paid out and had email records of each. Cons Creating a new report from scratch can be tedious. The interface was a bit difficult to figure out as far as where to add attachments/scans and how it displayed items contained in a report. Once I learned where all of that was, I was able to use the program without issue. A more simple or intuitive interface would be nice, but this program works just fine regardless.
