Cons The features are great and the setup is easy. However, the remote desktop features has many errors at times. I can't see my screen sometimes and other times, it takes a long time to load. I work from home often and also while traveling. It’s a very good and dependable software. Pros Ease of use. You can stay logged on. Normally no problems. Very rarely disconnects. I would like a little more flexibility in the pricing. Pros The ability to reach out and connect to customer machines from anywhere if a problem arises. We no longer have to send someone out for every little thing. Cons The pricing can get a bit expensive. It probably isn't bad for a large company maintaining a fleet of internal machines, but can be a tad expensive for a smaller company who wants the ability to occasionally connect to customer machines only if a problem arises. This gets a little frustrating when lengthy IT sessions come into play where the user may not be as technically savvy or understand that something is still in process even if they don't see the mouse moving. I can leave the office and access my entire desktop computer right from my laptop at home. Having this software gives me confidence that I can leave to go to a doctor's appointment or start the day from home without worrying about taking the extra step to save files to an external drive. Cons I would give LogMeIn a 5 out of 10 when it comes to being a user-friendly software program. I did not find this one to be intuitive or easy to navigate - especially in the beginning stages where I was getting the hang of the app. Another downside for me is the lag time delays and very slow download speed whenever I access a Microsoft office suite file. It is fast, works well, and had a lot of extra features. It is one of the few remote software's that allows you to interact with the UAT prompt, which is really important. I would still be using it today if they hadn't gone up significantly on their prices. Pros The speed and features of the software in most cases. Cons The pricing model and recent cost increases. Pros It might have an uncommon use case, but one thing I really loved was remotely patching in to my actual desktop at the office instead of just a shared drive on the network. Every now and then I'd be working evenings or weekends and realize I forgot to save something and/or send it to myself for later. This allowed me to do that. Cons It's pretty choppy software. The tasks I described could easily take me 20 minutes. While its uses were impressive, it wasn't a smooth operation at all. Review Source YW Yasmin W. In the last year they automatically gave me the Central version for 6 months with no fee. Then sent me a bill for a renewal for 3 x's what I paid the year before. I immediately shopped and got another program for 1/10 of the cost with all the features, bells and whistles. Pros The ability to access a computer remotely. Cons The price and the way they do business. Deceptive. Reason for choosing LogMeIn Pro At the time there were no other programs with such features. You can even log in from your phone or iPad. Cons It seemed expensive for what we used it for. We went pro primarily to be able to print on a local printer rather than the printer associated with the desktop. Ultimately it was too expensive for us. The main downfall was you have to call to cancel and that phone call was a disaster. It was rather unprofessional (not in terms of being rude, but in terms of professionalism). When I called there was a good 5-10 seconds before anyone answered. A 2-minute hold lasted 15 minutes and then no one ever came back on the line. You can create and manage users and give them access to selected computers all from a simple to use portal. Connection quality is always top notch and packages are very flexible. Pros It is very easy to login and use at any time of the day. I have not had any issues with LogMeIn. I am able to access my work e-mail and my PC desktop. I feel like I am sitting at my desk at work and one of the really great features is the ability to print from my desktop to my printer at home. This is so much better than having to send an e-mail from my work e-mail to my personal e-mail to print. This saves time and keeps my personal e-mail uncluttered. I hope this product continues to be around for a long time. Pros This software makes working from home easy! I can access my files at work and print to my own printer at home. Pros Instead of spending hours on the phone trying to explain to IT what I'm looking at, I get to just sit back and watch them go! So great being able to let them into my computer when I need help. Cons Not that this is necessarily a logmein fault, but i always have to remember to not let my computer go to sleep while someone is working on it. If I do, then they can't remote in anymore. Use it mostly as an authorized back door if something stops working. The software loads and works easily. We use it only for remote access, so don't care about the bells and whistles. It does have two factor authentication, which is great. Cons For what it is, I think it is expensive. And year after the year the price increases alot. (it is an annual subscription). As an MSP, there are cheaper ways to get remote access as a secondary measure. It is more the hassle and time switching away from it. Review Source MW Mark W. The best part I like is the remote file access capabilities, and grouping the computers. This saves a lot of time. I use this instead of VPN. Just install the app and start remote desktop. Saved a lot of time providing support. Cons Once in a while for some reason, on mac the remote access would be disabled automatically. I have to keep turning it on which is kind of annoying.
