Super robust program, larger than what I need for my small business. Large learning curve, needed to be on support a lot. If I had employees and larger scale, would probably use it!

Pros

Solid platform, keeps booking/clients/memberships/payments all in one place. I really like the scheduling platform -- it does waitlists really well. Reporting options are thorough.

Cons

It's pricey and more robust than my small studio, so I ended up looking for more affordable options. But for a larger business this is probably perfect. Interface not as intuitive as other options.

MINDBODY reliably handles our scheduling, client management, and payments in one place. It works well for our daily operations, and their customer support has been great. The mobile app and some interfaces still need improvement.

Pros

It is very reliable for appointment scheduling and client management. The mobile app makes it easy for our clients to book and cancel sessions, and the automated reminders help reduce no-shows. Integrations like payments, reporting, and staff scheduling are all in one place, which keeps operations organized. Customer support has also improved over the past year, and most issues are resolved quickly. Another significant advantage is that MINDBODY’s POS payment processing fees are notably lower than those of many competitors, helping us keep overall operating costs down.

Cons

The mobile app lacks many essential features and options, so I often need to use my laptop to complete even simple tasks. Many day-to-day management tools aren’t fully accessible on mobile devices, so they're not ideal for working on the go. Another limitation is the waiver system. MINDBODY only allows for one standard liability waiver at initial sign-up. Since our studio offers multiple services, including injectables and other wellness treatments, we need separate waivers, and manually managing them adds extra work. Improving mobile functionality and expanding waiver options would make a big difference for business owners and staff.

I’ve had a very long history of using MINDBODY for all my local fitness classes. It’s always easy to use, keeps my info and that allows me to sign up for a class in minutes! I love it!

Pros

I use MINDBODY for all of my yoga and fitness classes. The best part is one app for different studio I go to and it keeps my history.

Cons

I’ve not had any issues with the app. It keeps a record of all of my classes so I remember teachers names etc

### "Beware Before You Sign A $1200, 1 Year Contract, Their Sales People Appear To Be On Commission!"

Please be careful when dealing with Mindbody, you are signing a year long contract and if they give you the impression that you can get out of it, I'm proof that you can't. You'll talk to a nice, professional person during your first phone call who (at least in my case) will tell you what you want to hear in order to sign the contract. Once I started getting into the set up, I started to realize that it was an extremely long process (onboarding can take up to 8 weeks) and that I wasn't going to get what I thought I would and that it takes a painfully long time to get answers. I tried to cancel but they won't let me. On that first phone call, when I asked about cancelling if things didn't go well, Sam (sales rep) made it seem like if I tried to cancel then they would give me a sales pitch but eventually would let me out of my contract which isn't true. I filed a BBB complaint that they never responded to, which in all of the reviews I've left in my lifetime on BBB, no American company has failed to respond. Btw, my BBB complaint requesting termination of my contract was 8 days after I signed my contract with Mindbody, so it's not like I used them for 5 months. I haven't scheduled a single customer with them or had a single onboarding session with them. You may be reading this wondering why I signed a contract for something I didn't totally understand, that's because it's way too complicated to understand up front. Just think about it, Mindbody onboarding can take up to 2 months before you can fully use it, it's that complicated. What are the chances you're going to understand everything during the initial sales call. You have to pay for a year ($1200), and then get into the system to understand everything, which once again, takes a very long time. And I just did a Google search, it appears their sales staff make commission, which imo incentivizes this behavior.

Pros

Mindbody is used throughout the fitness industry. Customers will go on Mindbody to find local gyms, yoga studios, etc...

Cons

The salesman who sold me my subscription wasn't honest and straightforward with me. Customer service is painfully slow.

Overall, it is has all the features a business could need to run smoothly, and continue to grow. Lots of different options all in one software.

Pros

Extensive features to grow business. Good scheduling options. Easy to use with lots of tutorials and customer support options.

Cons

It is a little costly for smaller businesses (especially Canadian businesses), especially as costs of running a business increase but businesses are limited in how much more they can charge customers. It has taken several years of familiarizing myself with MindBody to be able to use all the customizable features. A few times, I have figured out how to troubleshoot a problem or integrate a feature while on the phone with customer support, who were not able to find a solution.

I like the ease of managing with Mindbody, and the cost is less than an administrative assistant for sure, but I am a Gen Xer, and it does take time for me to process it easier in the long run. I like the integration of third-party apps, like Classpass. However, the cost of Classpass versus what we are paid for Classpass is not comparable to a client who drops in. We gain volume, but we don't get retention. The cost per session is way below what we can afford, to be honest. We may start to phase out Classpass because the volume doesn't make up for the cost we are losing from retention. Our business is Pilates, and we have to create continuity for clients to learn the whole concept of Pilates. A person who pops in for one session, often late, and with an idea of Pilates, but actually not Pilates. It takes away from the clients who commit to our studio for the continuity of the learning process. I know, we make room for the beginners, and we do really love beginners. It's just that the Classpassers don't seem interested in the concept of Pilates; they want a workout. I am a people pleaser by nature, so I try and our instructors try to pull them in, but they want bootcamp, and that isn't what we are doing. I feel terrible saying this, but we have moved on from the HIIT classes, the clients know they can get strong without the trending social media moves created for them to try in our and we are grateful for the highly popular Pilates. Often, the scenario is, we ask and provide opportunities for beginners to take introductory classes before joining a class in progress. However, they show up after class has started, without grip socks, and no body awareness-which is our forte, bring the newbies on, but please, when we let our Classpassers know we start on time, that means they need to be early enough to get situated before class starts. We have lost regulars because we look unorganized. So, we are seriously considering stopping our partnership with Classpass. Despite the volume we have to consider, we can't take a price decrease; we have to not accept that we have to decrease our prices to accommodate a program run by billionaires. We are barely thousandaires and we are not able to decrease the delivery of our process when the program wants us to reduce our prices. When I go to the store, I see the price and I pay it, but for some reason, Pilates, Fitness, Yoga, we are all asked to reduce our prices when we pay thousands and put in hundreds hours of training to provide a high-quality service to people. I will never understand how people ask us to devalue our time and service when others are not asked.

Pros

The ability to add programs to help you get what you need done faster, especially not to miss phone calls.

Cons

The cost is creeping up to the point where I need services like AI, so I do not miss calls while I teach. I have reached my maximum budget for fees, so I have to give up something else to obtain the services I need to be successful.

For any class or appointment-based fitness studios, Mindbody is by far the most comprehensive software I've found. You can manage your staff & clients, collect member data, sell packages, track metrics, and even take payment in one tab on your browser. It's easy to use, customizable, and constantly improving.

Pros

I run a premium boutique fitness studio in Southern California and we switched to Mindbody about a year ago which has made our operations, reporting, and member onboarding faster, easier, and more efficient. Admin staff, coaches, and managers can use Mindbody with very little onboarding. The class and appointment management is simple and the notifications make it impossible to forget a client. Anytime I've needed help with something I can use the AI chatbot and if that doesn't have a useful answer it will send a ticket to their customer service who has always called me within a couple of hours.

Cons

Mindbody offers a marketing suite which is fairly new and could use some updates to make it more useful. It's not very user friendly and requires a third party track metrics.

Overall good although the system doesn't exactly answer our needs and we need to have a second system to assist with our bookings.

Pros

Their report suite is second to none. the system is easy to use for customers. Customer support is mostly responsive although sometimes they are quick to dismiss our issues.

Cons

when a customer has an issue with their profile, we have very little ability to sort it out and we usually ask them to contact mindbody support directly.

I have been using Mindbody for over 18 years. It has been reliable for the entire time. I switched to another service last year but ended up switching back, I needed the features that Mindbody offers.

Pros

Ease of use, reliable, professional, all-in-one, customer support, constantly improving, quick to reply.

Cons

High cost for more features. I have stayed at the lowest tier and made due with the features included there.

### "After 18 Years Here's The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly"

When considering the major areas like Value, Ease of Use, Features, Payment Processing, User Interface, and Support, Mindbody scores 90 out of 100. The positives far outweigh any deficiencies and after 19 years I plan on continuing with Mindbody until I am no longer in business. The support is excellent, and the software is easy to use - and don't think 'easy to use' implies it's very basic / simplified because it doesn't. This is very powerful software that gives amazing reports for every aspect of my business. The competition doesn't have anything on Mindbody! I mentioned I will continue to use Mindbody until I am no longer in the business - if you are interested (or know someone who is interested) in purchasing the top-rated hair salon in Fort Lauderdale since 2006 please contact me. We keep easy hours Tuesday - Saturday 10-5 and till 8 on Thur & Fri and with only 5 stylists over $500K with over $150K Owner's Benefit. If I ran this place like a real business with 8 stylists and we were open from 9 to 9 Mon - Sat, we would do over a million.

Pros

I started with Mindbody in 2008 at $65/month. While the company grew & grew and expanded into several continents the 'hair platform' and the tasks I did on a regular basis remained unchanged. I own a small hair salon, and I do things today (2025) the same as I did in 2008. Daily Closeout reports, payroll reports, entering employee data... remained unchanged. The software is easy to learn and very intuitive. Support is available 24/7 and appears to be based in the USA, so there are no heavy accents to battle i.e., understanding what you are told is easy. Over the years I have had thoughts of changing companies and I never did because of the value I get from Mindbody. Granted, the price is no longer $65/month, but it is competitive and gives better value and a bigger bang for my buck. I was pleasantly surprised when I was given consideration for my years of Loyalty and being charged based on the size of my business. I love that by being web-based I can log on anywhere and it's like I am at work. The app is also quite useful, and I don't miss a beat if I am out when a new client calls who must be entered into the system & scheduled for a service. Shortly after starting with Mindbody, I was contacted by Demandforce for CRM. Demandforce integrates seamlessly into MIndbody and picks up the pieces that Mindbody does not offer. It is like a 1,2 punch and I believe Mindbody is a big part of not just why we have been in business for 20 years, it is a big part of why we have been on the top of Google for 20 years.

Cons

Obviously, the Pro's outweigh the Cons. I used Mindbody's Merchant Services for a few years, and you would not believe how much it made things easier by integrating Merchant Services into the Front-End software. I stopped using Merchant Services after a couple of years because promises made were not kept. Nothing more to say about that. Another Con about Minbody is the platform. From day1 it seemed that the platform for hair salons was made by forcing it to conform with the Spa / Health Club platform - Hair Salons did not have a stand-alone platform - we were added into the Gym platform - we were not designed as hair salon software from the ground up. Another Con is when they discontinued GeoAnalytics... I loved that tool because it showed you on a map exactly where your clients came from. None of these Cons are major... they are not deal-breakers, they are just some of the things I have seen over the years, and being that I have been using this software for 18 years I am

Love Mindbody as we have used other member tracking software. Mindbody is a great value and offers reports that allow us to track membership and finances. A membership representative contacts us with updates and does a yearly review.

Pros

Easy to use and many useful features to track membership. Navigation within the program is easy and logical. The technical support is great to trouble shoot problems and then they follow up with a email with all the reference information. I love the feature that shows members who have not been in recently so we can reach out to them.

Cons

Set up is a little time consuming, but once all the information is in, it is easy to use. Sometimes, the wait time to connect to technical support is long.

It's pretty good not as intuitive as I'd like but I guess when your competition is so bad you don't have to do much to stand out

I like it's interface and user experience. Especially compared to Glowfox and Wellness Living. Payment processing is easy which is great for clients and it's overall really easy to use.

Cons

Don't like the mobile app much. Particularly, when rescheduling clients or trying to modify availability

Terrible! I have been trying to get in touch with our account rep or someone to go over our subscription and discuss some business changes. I have sent multiple emails, I have talked to three "account" people on the phone and yet to have ANYONE call me back and help with the problem.

Pros

I am so upset with this company, I cannot think of what I like best.

Cons

HORRIFIC CUSTOMER SUPPORT -- can't get to anyone who can help me with the problems we are having or to discuss our account/subscription. Keep getting shuffled around to people who can barely speak English.

As a relative newbie to all things Mindbody - i find the support wonderful when i call in and i love the follow up emails with more tips. The AI assistance is great just wish they could how to videos there sometimes

Pros

The ease of checking in our clients. The display is great for people with visual impairments. Would like the option to book into multiple same classes for a client (almost a button to book a certain number of the same class into the future).

Cons

I would love how to videos to learn Lead Management and Marketing Suite. I would like a quicker way to get back to the class or schedule window quicker ( last place where I was) from looking at a clients account and to also go from POS to the clients account after a sale - or have POS open in a new window

In general I have had an excellent experience. Since it is a very customizable platform, it would be wonderful if MBO offer "data input care" suggestions

Mind Body Online has a smooth design and the way the information/reports are presented is very easy to understand. Its automation features are very handy and easy to program

Cons

Sometimes i have found reports having discrepancies between them, yes i am aware thaty it depends on how the information was input in the system. Also it creates "transactional" reports but "historic" reports tend to change over time. - Programming MBO culd be cumbersome

Love the platform very user friendly, designing services and packages are very easy to create recommend this app.

Pros

Love the accessibility, also how easy it is to create and schedule classes. The Mindbody Capital is great as well.

Cons

When it comes to creating packages for monthly payments it seems to keep adding the initial sessions back to the package with every monthly payment

Generally pretty good, appreciate the support teams. Dissapointed in the price and branded app portal.

Pros

What I love most about using Mindbody is how seamlessly it connects our studio with our clients. It simplifies everything—from class scheduling and membership management to retail and reporting—so we can focus more on building community and delivering a great experience. I especially appreciate the integrated marketing tools and automation features, which help us stay in touch with our clients and keep them engaged without added effort. It’s intuitive, reliable, and built for the wellness industry, which makes all the difference. Mindbody gives us the tools we need to grow, stay organized, and show up for our clients daily.

Cons

Not as user friendly as we'd like in addition needs some updates in the marketing/analytics realm in addition to be able to use gift certificates online.

6/10. Integrating with gym access was a nightmare and really brought out a lot of scheduling flaws in the system

Pros

All in one software for scheduling, advertising and student reviews

Cons

The software doesnt integrate well with 3rd party companies that are referred by mindbody, such as gymm access. Classes cannot pay for appointments, although the pricing relationships says its doable. This caused massive inconvenience and hours worth of work. Also, if i want to schedule a block of time as available for appointments, I cannot use the same room as classes if I want the appointments to begin at various times. This is supposed to be scheduling software but cannot use the same room for different services, so i have to make 1 studio into 2 different rooms. Also, Im now being told I need to use MB for payment processing and will be forced to pay a higher fee for all services charged below $50.
