### "Great for automation for business, also a good tool for user"

With a few hiccups from the user side (booking classes) and the up-sells I wouldn't jump to use this again in the future. Of course, with Covid we have no classes any longer but should we begin holding I may stick to the simpler Eventbrite booking platform. Mindbody just dominated the industry here in Los Angeles and although they have a good system, I don't think it's worth the costs unless you are a very large studio that sells out every class.

Pros

I have used Mindbody from both sides of the fence, one as a user as well as a business owner. What I liked most as a user is that it's simple to use and allows the user to get a gambit of various class offerings without having to go to various different websites or apps. If you're looking for a yoga class at a certain time, a certain location- it gets you there and lets you book it right from the app.

Cons

This is strictly from the business side, it's a little clunky to use and again this is from the business side- the costs did increase over time with the add-ons. This can be very problematic because the up-sells didn't necessary equate to more guests to the mediation studio we were working through.

### "Overpriced and disappointing business practices"

Middling. The only reason we are still with MindBody is because it took a long time to set it up how we want it, and our clients are familiar and understand how to use it.

Pros

It is reasonably fully featured, and you can usually find a work around to achieve what you want or need to do, but it isn't all that intuitive. A lot of our clients seem to have used MindBody before, so it is familiar to them. Clients like that they can book quickly and easily through a mobile app.

Cons

MindBody has become horrendously over-priced. They increased subscription rates by a huge margin (almost double, in some cases!), and justified it by shoe-horning in a bunch of extra features that we did not want or need, or which were not available to us outside of the US - yet we were still expected to pay for them! Our only option was to downgrade our subscription package to one left us about a quarter of the features we were used to, and removed some very common-sense "features"(such as the ability to mask instructors full names from the client-facing interface - thus leaving our instructors open to potential stalking from people not even signed up to our system) - and yet we still had to pay more for this poorer functionality! The fact that they did not grandfather in current subscribers to stay at the same rate is appalling - we've been using MindBody for six years. Some recognition of customer loyalty would go a long way. I am investigating other options for our booking software.

### "I like it but.."

Mindbody sets a high bar for business software. But unfortunately their quality of customer services does not match the high premium you pay. There are definitely softwares out there that will suit exactly what you are looking for with a support team that is willing to help you in every way at a fraction of the cost.

Pros

Mindbody is like driving a fully loaded Mercedes Benz. Looks pretty. Has all the features. Very custom and detailed.

Cons

Con: way too expensive. customer service plummeted. Not accommodating. Does not matter if you are a long term customer I feel like I am just a number and they could care less if they lose you as a customer or not.

Because Mindbody at the time was an all inclusives software with all the features I was looking for and the price was amazing when I first signed up in 2015.

### "MINDBODY software"

I wouldn't want to change. Software changes are difficult to walk staff through. Price increases may impact that over time. Partly because it is ever evolving and slowly but surely we get functionality that we need. The software is greatly modifiable, however, we have hit quite a few roadblocks of things that we need that we just can't do because we do not have the typical boutique business model.

Pros

Ability to interact with clients through auto-e-mails/texts.

Cons

Not built specifically for fitness centers so lacks some functionality specific to a non-profit fitness center. Definitely built for a boutique studio.

Reason for choosing Mindbody

Because we were told that all data would transition seamlessly and the functionality was significantly better and there was a lot of R&D going in to the software.

### "So thrilled we found Mindbody"

After running our sailing school for 20 years under the county park system, our supervisors decided to discontinue the park's registration services. We were suddenly thrust into an administrative role where we had no experience. As I blindly searched for a registration solution, I stumbled upon Mindbody. My initial deduction was that the product wouldn't work for the types of programs and services we provide. I explained this to the Mindbody representative and described all the reasons why it wasn't a good fit. She listened to my rant and one by one dispelled my objections with solutions in the Mindbody software. Not only that, she assured me that Mindbody would be there to hold-our-hand through it all, and that the price was well within our budget. I had no choice but to sign up on the spot. 8 years later and Westwind is stronger than ever. In the first year of using Mindbody, our registrations and revenues were the best they had been in 5 years despite the ongoing recession. Our business continues to grow and evolve and Mindbody grows and evolves with us. I was blown away the first time I noticed improvements in the product based on requests from the clients. Now it's just the norm. I recently discovered Mindbody BOLD and Mindbody University. Both were some of the best business conferences I've attended in 30 years of running my company. Bottom line: Mindbody is a dynamic and forward thinking company that sincerely cares about its staff and customers. I strive to run my business this way and I find that I use Mindbody as a role mode. LOL! I'm not getting paid to say this stuff, it just really is that good!

Would like more emphasis on 'enrollment' aspect of software since that is what we use the most.

### "Room for opportunity"

Surface level, it is great! Easy to use and commonly known by both teachers and students. Once we get into the more technical sides it becomes a little more frustrating.

Pros

At a very basic, elementary level the software is relatively easy. Especially, in terms of checking people into a class. POS is also pretty simple. MBO is great for a surface level use.

Cons

I’m the retail manager for a region comprised of six studios. Half of my job is to count and recount to see where MBO has gone rogue. For example, sometimes it will duplicate an order, you can fix it, but next time you check on it, somehow, magically, the fix has been undone. There are also annoyances with browser compatibility. When you are doing a sale with a gift card, you cannot copy and paste the gift card number, you have to hand type and specify the exact dollar amount of the gift card. Super inconvenient, especially if the student doesn’t know the exact amount of the gift card. Also, ringing a gift card like this won’t work if you’re using chrome. It is also frustrating that we have to find workarounds for solutions to issues like ones I have listed above. MBO support has never provided solutions

My over all experience with mind body is amazing and the best and highly recommendable.

Pros

As a business owner this application is great for my business for the reservations and with this application, the accessibility for everything is permitted. Over all this application is really helpful and the best.

Cons

About the cons I can name only minimal like when you are using this application for the first time, there is a difficult time to explore but as continually using it, it is the best application.

It started great and then went worse and worse until I switched. Today I use a great software company that only charges $60 per month....

Pros

I started with you 20 years ago and you had a great, functional software. Then you got greedy and kept raining your rates with less and less service and easy of use.

Cons

You probably hired a CEO paying him on performance and he just squeezed as hard as he could without NO longterm vision and without the need of brick and mortar businesses that know exactly what the need in mind. He simply forgot what the core product: a simple, functional software to help small businesses to manage their day-to-day services...

### "I LOVE MINDBODY"

Overall I am happy with the product.

Pros

I love that Mindbody allows me to keep notes on customer account history, I love how great the customer support is, when we have an issue we call and they help us immediately. I love the tutorial videos. I love that many studios and spas use this software so my previous skill set at my past employers prepared me for my current position with my current employer. I like that there are so many features and ways to fine tune the software to your studios personal needs.

Cons

Sometimes I find it to be not very intuitive. Luckily I have worked with the software for a long time so I am lucky to know so much, but especially when training new hires it can take a while for them to get used to the features of the program. After 2 months or so I feel like they get into the groove. We want to be able to take Apple Pay.

Reason for choosing Mindbody

We started using MB when we came to our new locations 2008. That was before I was on the team, so I am not sure how we previously ran the business. I can say without a doubt that it is a much better system than the analog old school way of doing things at another yoga studio I used to work with in 2005-2009. Two thumbs up!

### "I've set up MB 4 sites since 2010 and every year things get worse!"

I helped set up MindBody in 2010 for a studio I managed and I loved the software and customer service. When I went out on my own in 2012 so I called MindBody and set up my own database and again it was great with responsive customer service. I made a deal with them at them at the time to discount 3 of the 4 sites I had because I am an Outdoor Boot Camp program and we don't have a brick and mortar location, this worked out great, until they decided to just stop honoring the discount for no particular reason. Instead of paying $220, now I pay almost $500 for much less functionality. It's just my wife and I so this seems a bit extreme considering one of our locations only has one boot camp a week and we are paying $125 a month just so it shows up on the map in their app. For the past 2 days their support has been out on a team event and their customer care leaves at 3pm apparently each day now because they don't have enough people to handle the call volume. I used to be able to call early in the morning or in the evening and get connected to a very helpful person within just a couple minutes, now it is a complete nightmare. I recommend using any other software company as their track record is that they don't care about customer loyalty and customer support is the last thing they intend to invest in. However, sales people are always available to chat up. I am currently looking to migrate all my data to a new system and that will be expensive, so I recommend just starting with someone else.

Options and reporting tools.

Cons

Very expensive for multiple locations, they don't hold true to their promises, they raise their rates all the time and will charge you a huge fee to migrate your information to a new software. Bad business practices all around.

I love all the recommendations of classes and salons in the area as well as deals for trying something new. Using it while working at the studio is very EXTREMELY straight forward and very easy to use.

The built in integration and suite of many services in one. Lots of potential, poorly executed. They have superb technical support that is live ( though you have to wait forever.... and they need that support because the system is not intuitive)

Cons

\- It is so over priced for what it delivers. 3- 4 times overpriced at the very least. - They keep increasing the the rates with out improving performance - Their mobile app is horrible and unstable -It operates like a Beta testing phase software. Every basic transaction involve multiple clicks and screens - The software is overall slow to respond with lag between every screen ( on an array of computers and tablets with varying speed internet connections. - Always slow

The online booking system was very useful. I am very happy with the real-time scheduling as well.

Cons

Certain times of the day Mindbody could not be accessed by the app/online because system updates were being run. This is inconvenient when trying to check the next day schedule.

### "Not fully optimised for a European Market"

Mindbody has been a disappointment. One simple reason: payments are tricky. In the Netherlands, where i operate, CC is not a popular payment method. This does not stop Mindbody to market itself as best in the field, nevermind that they are unable to offer a SEPA transaction from the get-go. After some paperwork with Paysafe (their associated payment provider), I thought I had finally gained that function. Guess again: I can take SEPA (bank transfer) payments, but the clients cannot purchase autonomously (via, say, your website). They have to give you the details and you have to do it for them. Double-handling, as such. So if you are selling memberships on a website, that website becomes less useful. As stated, clients cannot purchase with that payment method themselves. Finally, when I thought "well at least I can do quick work of it via the Mindbody app when I meet the clients in person"...well, guess again: the SEPA app option asks for routing and account number. No space to input a SWIFT or IBAN. When I inquired to Mindbody they were swift (admittedly) in offering a workaround. Namely debiting the client the desired amount, then going home, fire up the desktop and change payment method to SEPA (and change all payment dates manually). SEAM-LESS. 110€ for a workaround is not what you want to pay. There are smarter and leaner providers out there for a fraction of the price.

Pros

It is for the best part polished and well-thought out

Cons

No direct debit option Limited functions on the starter packet (which works to be 110€, way more than 99% of competition) Inability for clients to carry out a sepa transaction by themselves Some condescendence from staff member Sales department will overpromise

### "Mindbody Business Management review"

Pros

I like the variety of features. For my appointment based business there is no limit to how many services and products I can enter. Each of my staff have the ability to log in on their own to check/modify their schedule, but I am able to control how many features they are allowed to use. Everything is easy to learn and if I have any difficulties, customer support is always available and usually quick to respond.

Cons

There are unexplained glitches once in awhile. A customer may get an email reminder that has the wrong time. Sometimes a client will not get a confirmation for an appointment, but will get a reminder, so obviously their email is in the system. I believe this is just technology and we rely on it always running perfectly, which it just doesn't. I don't believe any software is going to be foolproof.

Horrible customer service! Aside from price gouging, under performing software and it not being user friendly during this pandemic they have found a way to be even more greedy with a \[SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN\] who prefers to make clients sign a 1 year contract in order to give us 2 months free even if all of us are making only 10-20% of what we used to make if we’re making anything. I was promised 2 months free without the contract yet never received it and all I was told to do was find ways to make money...what kind of business says that right now?!?

Pros

Reporting Can be helpful but not a reports function properly.

Cons

It’s not customer friendly, over the years they’ve price gouged going from $65 to $435.40 a month. There’s glitches all the time that have caused features they still charge for to not work for long periods of time up to months and they won’t even send out notice when there are glitches.

Overall Mindbody Software is life line for our SPA business and we are totally depended on this software for all kind of activities so for any small or mind size business that need to automate their work Mindbody is perfect choice

Pros

Mindbody Software offers various features such as Automated Scheduling of Email and text along with online booking, Appointment via Social media like Facebook and we can manage marketing capabilities via inbuild toolkit. We use Mindbody software for SPA.

Cons

Every Software has its own strength and weakness, as per our experience with Mindbody we have found few issues where they need to really works on one big aspect is Availability of Services( they had 3-4 major outages) which causes lot of problem to out customers and impact our business, second area that i would like to explore is software has few menus that feel cluttered while other menus are mostly blanks ,their documentation is also not updated sometime

Pros

It is pretty easy to learn, to teach and to use. The support team is very helpful.

Cons

The system is very slow most of the time. Some days it is not operational to run the spa at all. There are simple features that owners do not have access to, like tracking down gift card usage. It is not helpful to not be able to give a monetary credit. Sometimes the support team is very inexperienced and put me on hold to investigate answers. Frustrating.

### "THEY DO NOT CARE! "

Pros

I have been a loyal customer for eight years. Up until the last 12 months, I had no reason to look elsewhere.

Cons

In the last year, they've increased their prices twice, but the products I use are still the same. I didn't need or request any upgrades. As a matter of fact, for 3 years they've had a software flaw, and it still has not been resolved. They told me it was fixed, but that was not the case. They don't care. MindBody has no sense of loyalty. I've been a loyal customer for 8 years and I get rewarded with price increases. THEY TRULY DONT CARE about their customers... it's all about the money.

Overall the software is robust and you never feel as if you dont have access to a piece of information you're looking for. Though when you're first learning it it can feel clunky. On a positive note any time I've had an issue their customer support line has been incredibly efficient.

Pros

MindBody feels like choosing a PC over a mac. Which in my opinion is good. The software is incredibly robust and you have many many options for reporting at all different levels. The ability to tag clients and then pull reports on just those specific clients is a game changer.

Cons

The con would be that it's more like a PC then a Mac. The software you need to really spend time and learn. Using this everyday I would say that it takes about 6 months to fully get everything feeling natural. If your role is solely backend and reporting is all you'll be doing then itll be much faster.

Currently using mindbody to manage: our clients and collect payments. KPI reporting Would like more upgrades to better manage inventory reports.

Pros

It is very user friendly and can get to the detail needed to successfully manage clients.

Cons

When you ask for software upgrades or make suggestions you never know if you are heard and if something will be done. There really is no voice to say we hear you. I would also suggest MB periodically reach out to different levels of users and ask for specific software feedback. Also do not like that you are only allowed to update branded app photos once a year and you cannot send out push notifications that are not active purchasing links.
