It is user friendly on the front end as a client, but continually has issues on the back end as a business user. If it was not so widely used/recognized/trusted by clients, I would probably not use it.

Pros

Its the universal software for most fitness businesses, so you just have to learn one platform and it's relatively easy to navigate. Since most fitness studios use it, it creates a wide range of different workout types to choose from. As a fit pro user of the business app, I like the new feature that allows you to easily switch between multiple studios--it was an intuitive move as most pros don't work with just a single studio.

Cons

It's extremely buggy and prone to issues each time they release a new version--whether that be on a computer or via the phone apps.

Pretty solid. It makes the whole billing side of the business a breeze, to the point that collecting payments is a not even a thought in our minds. Occasionally when trying to get creative with its additional features, there's some confusion that requires us to get in touch with tech support, which is hit or miss. But overall, it gets the job done.

Pros

Mindbody makes billing a snap. It's feature-rich and allows you to easily track, bill, and segment members. It provides amazing reporting tools that shows you a breakdown of all of your members, revenue, and so on. Additionally, it provides options for single class purchases, temporary enrollments, and retail purchases. Finally, provides features for CRM & customer communication that take the customer experience to another level.

Cons

Integration with other software is limited. I believe they have a public API, but few companies offer integrations for other software. Natively, they offer only a handful services that integrate with it well. Hopefully it'll soon be supported in Zapier, because then this will become a non-issue as Zapier would take care of any integration issues. Their tech support can be somewhat slow, at times.

Pros

Mindbody actually has two apps. I'm not sure sure which one specifically this review is targeted toward, so I'll talk about both. Mindbody has an app for potential students/clients that allows them to register for classes and workshops. As a yoga practitioner, this is the primary way that I use it, but it also can be connected to other types of fitness facilities as well as spas. It's a convenient way to find locations near you, read reviews, and get signed up for classes. Mindbody also has a "Business" app which shows the "back of house" view for studio owners or class instructors to use. Even on your phone you're able to check students in, accept payments, get liability waivers signed, etc. It's actually saved me several times when the studio internet has gone out or I've been teaching as a substitute at unfamiliar studios. Both apps are very beautifully designed!

Cons

On the app for students/clients, my only critique is that with one of the more recent updates the "Explore" feature is less intuitive than it used to be. It's still fine, but I just got used to the old format.

great analytics when you do get customer service, they are very thorough and patient forever memory of all clients and purchases

Cons

point of purchase has never been updated to make an easier flow for client checkins and sales to take p;ace in a faster way. chip readers etc.. it takes many steps, complicating certain changes and searches it takes a ling time to get through to customer service Expensive and every ad-on makes this an expensive "partner" to stay up with all aspects of building customer retention through the app...I don't like feeling nickle and dimed :ie:when we did a "dynamic pricing" the add on was 15%(no problem)...but then super annoying to have a 3.5% additional fee for credit card customers...Howe else would anybody buy a class through the MINDBODY app? Just make it a straight and honest fee, we already pay credit card fees on our monthly intake,, its just irritating difficult/overly time consuming to edot out old inventory ( after 10 years) making searches for new inventory with staff, again, challenging

Used this software for 5 years and had excellent results. When our locations downsized it was overkill for us. If you are willing to pay the money it is a lot of product.

Pros

This software is perfect for those who are marketing large quantities of products or services. Very customizable. If you learn all the functions of the product it can be very helpful. Reporting is top notch. You can almost pull any metric that you can think of. Ability to link to bar code scanner. Can link multiple locations together. Can also easily transfer inventory between locations. Very good scheduling functions that are available by person or by resource. Excellent online scheduling features.

Cons

Pretty expensive in the long run especially if you have multiple locations. You have to purchase a separate program for each location. This system can be overwhelming with all the bells and whistles. If you don't set up every product just right with reorder quantities and minimums and maximums, you cannot use several of the features. Definitely requires a very detail-oriented, intelligent person to set this up correctly.

### "Keeping my fitness schedule organized!"

Pros

Im a gym hopper, meaning I like to try out several different classes around town before committing. MINDBODY makes this possible and super simple. They sync with class pass (another favorite of mine) and all of my upcoming classes show up in one place. They even offer discounted classes through the app. You can connect the app to your fit bit as well to track all of you fitness info. I once was locked out of my account and the customer support was responsive in helping me get back in!

Cons

The ONLY thing is that if a class is full, it doesn't always tell me that I'm waitlisted until the day before the class. I think this may just be an occasional system error, but it's happened before

Mindbody is easy, it makes the process of booking and paying for classes easy, which means less of a barrier to customers coming in, which means more money. It's easy for customers, easy for business owners, it's a win-win.

Pros

Mindbody is such an easy app, even if you are a small studio/business it makes sense to have it, you will get discovered more with it than just relying on people to find your website alone. With the fact that the cost is a business expense and a write-off, there really is no reason not to have it.

Cons

I can't imagine that there is anything that needs improvement really, it's worked fine for me.

I work as a product manager for a larger IT company, so when a client came to us that she needed help managing her dance studio but didn't have sufficient founds to develop something tailored for her, we offered consultancy hours that we would do the research and setup and find her a great service provider. I initially started with Zenplanner (sorry for mentioning your concurents Mindbody but they are more sincere), the only problem with Zenplanner was that it was more expensive than Mindbody so after browsing the web i found MindBody. It seemed professional and a tool that might help my client. We scheduled also a meeting with one of their sales representatives, it was great! He promissed the world that it is easy to set up ad does exactly what we need . I eaven showed the pricing model of the studio upfront and he sayed it would be no problem. Well... their trick is that they dont let you test the software like other providers, they only make you a tour via a skype call... so you dont know how it will look like and work like when you get there. So when he promissed that we can do everything and setup would be soooo easy... we got hoocked. Now that we are their clients, the support team is really great and helpfull... but the software does nothing as promissed, at least not the easy way... and you will read in other reviews also about their famous "workarounds" but not eaven those do a great job at what we clearly stated from the beginning that we would need. I repeat do not fall for the "Fals MindBody Prophets" that promisse you to bring you to the promised land! We are getting close to Christmas holydays now right? Everybody cant wait to go on holidays and get peace in mind, soul and heart now im afraid of how to show our client what Mindbody realy does, what are the compromisses, im not eaven capable of setting it up on my own. I would pay someone to set it up for me just that i can know that i can go in my holidays and not suffer at work becouse i recommended such a bad product. I was so naive. Wish i could see the salesperson set up exacly what he promissed mindbody would do . Wis i could find anyone set up what they promissed they would be able to provide. Probably if you sue them they will be able to protect themselves with the famous "WORKAROUNDS" but let me know even those are lies. terribly disgusted by Mindbody and their lies. Thank You MindBody for ruining my day...week...holiday...and piece of mind.

### "Leader in booking software for businesses"

It has been a good solution for my customers (I got a lot more new customers simply from people searching on mindbody), and its an easy to use booking service that generally is working perfectly for the customers. However it is expensive and can be unreliable at times.

Pros

The features are exactly what you are looking for in order to market your business, and set a schedule that you customers can simply review and book into. The app is sleek, and easy to use.

Cons

It is relatively expensive, and there is absolutely no customer service. Any issue that arise, you are expected to figure it out yourself. Mind Body occasionally will go down, which is fine, but they do not communicate when that happens and you always find out first from your customers.

I love that Mindbody tries to be a hub for wellness. The app is slick and simple to use and when it works, it works really well. However, in my rural community, few local businesses participate in the app, so fitness class offerings are sparse.

Pros

The iOS app is simple to use and allows you to search for businesses that offer fitness, wellness and beauty services. You can book fitness classes right through the app and read reviews from past students. Mindbody is a great way to look for and learn about fitness options you may not know about in your area.

Cons

The app isn't really useful for folks who live in small towns. I live in rural Vermont and the app only has one fitness class option within 20 miles of my house. There are no options to choose from in the salon and spa categories. There also seem to be some misclassifications. One yoga studio that's about 10 miles away from me is classified under wellness, but does not show up under the fitness category. It's a little confusing.

### "Terrible and expensive"

Salespeople pushed us into going with MINDBODY and swore it would work for us. So we spent $1000 on their point of sale and thousands on monthly payments trying to force it to work for us. It was awful all the way around. We decided to switch to something else finally and just throw away the time and money spent. Transferred all of our clients out of the software to our new management system that is light years ahead of MINDBODY and cheaper (we save over $500 each month including processing fees since the merchant MINDBODY uses is crazy expensive). MINDBODY knew we were in the process of cancelling because we told them on the phone and they even had an “account specialist” call to see if they could save our account. At the end they still are forcing us to pay another payment because we didn’t give them “30 days notice” even though we don’t use the software or payment processing any more. We work with a lot of Vendors and MINDBODY has the top spot for worst to work with. Save yourself the money and headache and look around because there are plenty of other options that work way better for less money. As a business owner I hate leaving bad reviews but after our experience and their inability to provide a halfway decent experience, I’m hopeful I can help save others from the mistake of letting them push you into using their software

Expensive, was pushed into it by salespeople who swore it would work for us(it didn’t at all), ridiculous cancellation policy

Pros

With MindBody i have been able to achieve a lot in maintaining my body weight and that of my clients through medium and vigorous exercises. I can book sessions with my clients, teach and watch videos. Payment is very fast and affordable.

Cons

It can take awhile to achieve the desired body goals.

Pros

I love the ease of making and creating appointments. It's a very easy program to start using right away with your small business. I love how you can set up prepaid appointments, but the process to figure it out was rough (more on that later). The reports are great for book keeping and help me keep a great account of our business and it has everything my accountant needs. My clients love the appointment reminders. My trainers love the ease of the app to schedule clients any where they are.

Cons

My least favorite things are setting up classes and figuring out the back end was a lot of trial and error. I wish they had better YouTube videos created by the company on how to creat all of these. The support is very slow and not always the best with communication. We had to do work arounds with the inventory as well. Again once we figured out how to set up the low inventory alerts and the different sections it worked for our company

My experience with MindBody has been amazing and I can't recommend this company enough! From the sales people who listened to what we wanted to do to the training that can't be matched anywhere else - to the ease of the software use.....I love this software and it's well worth the price because you get SO much more than just a software package.

Pros

I love the flexibility and detail of this software. There isn't anything I can't do - even if it's not directly named as it is in my particular business, there is usually a module or screen that I can use for my purpose. And, I love the reports and the wealth of articles that I can go to if I find something that I need help with! I think what I love most though, is that the company is invested in my business success and they actively look for ways to help and have great suggestions. Not, only that, there are places to interact with other business owners to get even more ideas. And, that training is top notch - personable, caring people who truly want to help and ensure success. Amazing product - Amazing company. Oh - did I mention the branded app! Our customers think we're SO cool because we have this!

Cons

There isn't much I don't like, frankly! I wish the credit card reader worked a little better. It seems to have issues more often that not and makes me hand enter the credit card information - which costs more. I have tried getting another reader but have the same issues with both.

Too many functions, the most needed functions are so complicated that you waste too much time on them. They do the plan, so that very important function is in the most expensive plan, forcing you to pay more. Very very slow customer service. I have one calendar problem that is still unsolved even i have submitted more that 8 complains and have talked to IT support face to face on the FIBO exhibition. I am sincerely recommend you to look for other alternatives. I pay 1140 + 300 for online booking a year and want to get rid of them asap. If you have any good recommendations for the similar program (i use also atonement system, and i have an online booking and i have different staff) Please let me know.

### "Too Many Ways to Do the Same Thing "

Overall, I think that MBO has a lot of helpful features. I like the different reports available and I think that there is a lot that I can utilize. Unfortunately, figuring out how to utilize all that MBO has to offer often isn't the easiest task. I have had to rely on MBO support before (which has been pretty helpful), but I wish that the software was inherently more intuitive.

Pros

I like that we can take care of booking yoga classes and massages all in once place.

Cons

I don't like that there are multiple ways to do the same thing. I wish that there was one streamlined way to get a specific result. For example, you can check out an appointment through appointment screen by clicking check out OR by clicking retail through the appointment screen OR by going straight to the retail tab. Each way looks a little different and it is confusing for new staff to understand why there are so many ways to do the same thing. I also feel like we frequently experience errors through our website and have issues with clients being able to register. MBO often lets us know that it is an error on their end and that it is often due to system updates.

### "Not good for appointment-based businesses"

MB does some things really well, then falls far short on obvious things. We've been using it for 5 years, and my number one complaint is the inability to capture credit cards during the booking process to hold a reservation. We have lost probably thousands of dollars from clients who no-showed, and we had no credit card to bill. MB will tell you that they do have this feature when in reality it's a workaround that is incredibly obnoxious and intrusive to the client (a giant box will pop up saying MISSING BILLING INFO, but it gives the client no idea what this means). Their app also does not require a client to enter a phone number, despite that being a forced field set by us on the back end. I would agree with a previous reviewer who said this software is best for class-based businesses. MB largely ignores the needs of other businesses. Considering they just announced they are raising their monthly fee almost 32% to a whopping amount, we are starting to research other companies. I'm done with MB.

Pros

Reporting features ("tagging" is an excellent one), flexibility in options for settings, appointment confirmations, and reminders, training, and technical support.

Cons

Inability to capture credit card info from the client at booking, integration with the website is clunky, high monthly cost, the app doesn't require the client to enter a phone number, SMS alerts to staff are only possible when the client has opted in to also receive SMS appointment notifications.

### "Service has gone down hill in the last 24 months"

It provides a one stop program for practice management.

Pros

MB has been the industry standard for yoga and massage for years. Their product offers many layers of functionality for service based industries. Mobile app is useful for scheduling.

Cons

I have used MB for almost 8 years and used to love them but they have changed significantly recently. In the last 24 months the service and product has degraded significantly. Customer service calls average a 45 minute wait during the days, call back service doesn't work. CSR, are now poorly trained at finding solutions (they used to be amazing). Bugs continue to pop up with each revision and most remain unresolved. In January 2017 errors with the online scheduler became excessive (4 in one month) where clients booked apts online and we were never notified of their requests. Then with the addition of text apt reminders it increased charges and I was unaware that other providers did this at no extra charge. Then in January 2017 an email from the president (which intentionally went to junk mail since it didn't come from the known sender like the bills come from) indicated a necessary increase with no new functionality. Leaving them has been hard to transfer data to a new provider, but worth it.
