### "The software is good, but I feel like it could be better."

Pros

I like that the software is easy to use for every day tasks like scheduling appointments, etc. I also like that we've been using the software for several years so there is a lot of data to geek out on.

Cons

There are a lot of unresolved issues/glitches with the software. 50% of the time when calling tech support the person lacks the knowledge to assist with the issue or gives a generic "it's a known problem, we have a work order in to fix it". Many of these "work order" items have yet to be fixed (some existing for 8+ months). My concern is these issues reflect poorly on our business as our customers assume it's a Gymnazo error not a Mindbody problem. We are very client oriented and want to give our clients the best experience here at Gymnazo, this includes the easy of scheduling. Another concern is efficiency. I run the KPI reporting and it's a long mundane process to gather all of the information we need for our business meetings. I don't trust the Mindbody reports and feel that I am constantly auditing them to ensure we have accurate data.

Awful, hate using it, am forced to as part of my F45 franchise agreement.

Pros

None, nothing good to say about Mindbody

Cons

Outdate user interface, so many bugs, takes weeks for support to understand any issues you report, if you call support you sit on hold for over an hour with somebody coming back on every now and then to tell you do something you have already tried many times before and it doesn't work. Reporting is clunky.

My overall experience has been very fruitful despite the initial experience with the difficulty involved with being "confirmed."

Pros

I really appreciate the seamless way MindBody is incorporated in apps I use for specific yoga/exercise studios. I use it through Modo Yoga, and have foudn it to be so helpful that I don't have to sign in every time, and that it is super easy to sign up for a class, without going through a bunch of hoops.

Cons

I had some difficulty signing up at first, because it required confirmation from the studio in order to create a user profile. I also wish that I could refer to previous schedules in past weeks. I would also appreciate a coordination with iCal or google calendar that places classes in my apps/calendars (maybe this already exists?). Also, I wish that studios were more proactive about updating teacher and class descriptions, but that is no fault of MindBody!

I am a growing business with expanding locations, upon hiring my first employees I decided to purchase software. I am going to skip the painful and laborious process of attempting to get the software running... because the express app still does not work. Yes, I still have to log in myself and do all of the stuff for all of my employees because the apps are not functioning.. here is the real problem. I'm going under because I have not received any payments processed SINCE I SIGNED UP IN MARCH. Almost a grand invested in them, countless hours .. yes more time on this app they do not save me any time I could be doing this on paper and telephone... and the payments processed are still not in my bank. I've had a representative on the phone for days now trying to get their payment processing to release my funds.. and the error was not on my part. Too many errors in too many areas. Thank GOD my clients love me and are willing to pay me cash temporarily or I'd have lose my office, lose my house, my credit cards maxed out etc to cover things while I try to get my funds released. Mind body is no help they told me to contact their subcontractor (netbanx) and washed their hands of the issue.

Pros

If things actually worked, it would be useful to have schedules for multiple employees coordinated. I like the membership option because I do not want people "off the street" booking appointments without my approval.

Cons

Extremely complicated. Most things have many many back details to set up in order to work: So you cannot just add a service Payment processing is a wash. Will I ever get paid? Poor customer service: This is expensive and my apps don't work, unhelpful responses to complaints Very slow. Very very slow and laborious to complete tasks

### "Fancy but not worth it. "

This has a lot of bells and whistles. Fancy for sure; would be great for a club. However, if you are truly a small business think long and hard before committing to mindbody. The price for taking recurring gym memberships QUADRUPLED in the four years I used them. When I decided it was not sustainable, it cost me hundreds of dollars to get the stored credit card info out of their server. When I got it it was only half of the information. When I called to ask about the missing people, and about the data itself I was told that when I agree to have that set of reports run I also agree to cut all ties with mindbody including access to their support. So think long and hard because while it is pretty and fancy and does lots of cool stuff, it’s pretty ugly on the other side.

Pros

Lots of features and reports. It was relatively easy to set up, and while the app is unimpressive the desktop was great.

Cons

Constant substantial price hikes. Lack of customer service. Could not get the same answers to questions, sometimes even from the same person.

It can be customized to accommodate more or less guests, and pricing per guests. You can set limits on dates and times and guest amounts etc.

Cons

The reporting feature is a little confusing. There are many kinds of reports that show just a part of what you're looking for so you never know which report to pull.

It provided a way for our clients to schedule their own appointments, which saved us time. It also served as a point of sale for retail products in store. Those two services where very useful.

Pros

I liked how versatile this software was. It allowed us to track and schedule appointments yes, but it also served as a POS as well. That functionality really saved us.

Cons

It is a large piece of software that can be complicated and intimidating at first. It required some significant training for new hires to operate it accuratley.

### "Not User Friendly - Takes away alot of time from managing business - Do Not Purchase"

This software leaves alot to be desired. I hava MBA in Management Information Systems. I practically never write reviews but I am so fed up with the issues and lack of integration with a normal workflow setup just to book a client appointment. It does not allow you to block out a range of time on the schedule. Your only option is a 'business closed' configuration item for the entire day. You have to manually enter in every single compensation rate for your staff for each item and service provided. You have to update each staff everytime you add a new service. Any change requires several updates. It doesn't allow you have multiple sessions treatments without a range for the pricing for that service. This is not client friendly as clients want to know that for a 3 session Microdermabrasion treatment, what is the fixed price, not a range of pricing. If your business closes at 7pm, appointments cannot be booked at 7pm by the client unless you extend your business hours. They do not fix any issues for you, it is against company policy so the client can never say that they did something wrong. What a ridiculous response. They make you do all of the configuration and they cannot solve an issue. You have to manually enter in every service and price unless you pay additional money for another vendor to do an upload for you. The prices do not show automatically for each service online. It only shows the service. Customers want to see the price of the service at the time they are booking online. If you rebook, reschedule, modify a client appointment, they may or may not get a notification. It is sporadic as far as the function working properly. You cannot send out a confirmation manually. You have to cut and paste the clients email and send out your own email. Or write down the appointment, do an early cancel for the appointment and then rebook the appointment. You cannot select the option to send a new client sms or email notifications until after the first appointment is booked and their profile is completely set up and saved. This should be an option to activate at the same time you are scheduling a new client. Don't let me start on the janky app. Pllleeaassee.. I have decided to cancel my account and move on. Do not bother with this software. Some blockhead who has never run a Day Spa has created this. Spend money on a different software. Do not sign up with Mind Body. They are out of their Mind.

Pros

Originally, I really liked all of the gadgets they had to help streamline the check in and check out process, but the equipment they sent was slow and worked poorly after a short time of use.

Cons

They were VERY expensive. All of the upgrades that were really desired for the business were too expensive to be cost effective.

We we new and it seemed like a great option when I spoke with the sales rep.

For the first couple of years it was fine. It was easy. It took a little bit of time for my students to get use to the program, but then it became very easy. Once we had the massive price increase it was REALLY hard for my business because not only did I have to find a new platform, but MINDBODY also housed all of my packages, package counts .... it was a horrible mess for MONTHS. I would not recommend this company to any small business company OR anyone who wants or expects quality or even GOOD customer service.

Pros

The software was very easy to use, loved that I had my own ap. Made booking for my clients very easy and made the appearance of my company look and feel welcoming, inviting and legit.

Cons

I was with MindBody for over 3 years and then they restructured their company. The sent a letter out about a price increase that was "coming". When I received my letter of price increase .... it was not a PRICE INCREASE it was a gauge into a small business. It was a price increase of 300%. Not a type-o ... 300%!!!!! I called them multiple times and asked, begged them to adjust the pricing to help a small business. Their response .... "sorry its our new policy". The big issue was that I wanted to keep my existing app that was already created, already hosted and they wanted to charge me a ridiculous price to also keep my app active and online.

### "Winning back lost customers!"

We are in the Automotive business and we have been using Frederick for over a year. Once you get it all set up, it just does it's thing. Someone else said, "set it and forget it" and it is really true. Also, if we want to send out something like a mid-week special at the last minute, it takes me about 5 minutes to get it done. Very easy to use. More importantly, in the last 6 months, we have had 5 customers return to see us from a Frederick "lost customer" email and the average ticket is $964.40! Not only is the customer spending money, but we also have another opportunity to WOW that customer and keep them coming back.

Pros

You can use the parts of the program that work for you and turn off items that you don't want to use. The lost customer portion of the program is really working for us. The reporting section has lots of information.

Cons

Frederick won't allow you to send out an email to everyone at once, like if you had a big announcement that you wanted all your customers to receive at the same time. I do hear that they are working on incorporating this feature into the program.

I absolutely do not recommend Mindbody! First off their system is complex and not user friendly and if you're a small business owner, time is not something you have a lot of. The "training sessions" you're required to do are time consuming. The sales team will do anything to get a sale! Even if it means lying to you about their product and services. Not to mention, they charge a large upfront cost and once you finish the "training sessions" and you learn that the product is not for your business, they will give you the run around and will refuse to refund you! Their left hand doesn't know what their right hand is doing. For instance, they purchased the company HealCode that constructs the branded web tools for Mindbody. So inorder to get a widget on your website you have to go through their HealCode Web Tools. HealCode has all of these beautiful widget layouts that they advertise but they don't offer them (false advertising). I spoke to atleast 4 different technical support agents and all of them state that all widgets need CSS coding to make the layout beautiful. But if you specifically asked the sales team this, and they say CSS is not needed for customizations, then they are lying! I cancelled my subscription exactly 2 weeks after establishing the account. I've been going through hell to get my companies money back. I even submitted a complaint through the BBB. Mindbody keeps trying to offer a discount or a credit. And to believe I was so excited to do business with them is a disgrace. They have too many point of contact representatives, too many emails, too many steps, it's just not user friendly. Instead I've decided to go with Schedulicity, and it's the best decision for my company and employees. I will leave my review on every site possible.

### "Keeps Improving"

18 years and I'm still using the product. That's a good track record.

Pros

MindBody keeps improving its software, increasing functionality continually over the years. I've been a customer for 18 years (since it was OmSoft) and before cloud computing existed to consumers. As a database, MindBody makes it easy for customers and staff to interface with it. Mindbody's simplicity on the front end is user-friendly. On the back end, the phone support has been helpful for hundreds of calls.

Cons

MindBody needs to improve it's auto-generated emails--the look (which needs to incorporate more unique preference options) as well as up-sell functionality, so that studio owners like me can more simply funnel new clients into buckets that distinguish them and their purchses so that new specified auto-generated emails can reach them at the right time.

### "Not that great"

I used MindBody online for a small yoga and meditation school in Paris, France. Since the client facing site turned out not be fully translatable (something that we were promised several times over before singing up) we ended up only using the software back-office. MindBody online has been capable of doing most of what we expected it to do. However it is slow and unnecessarily complicated. It is an ageing platform that gives the impression of a patchwork rather than a coherent whole. In my opinion, the product MindBody delivers does note quite live up to the the image they market. I advice anyone considering MindBody to first have a look at their competitors and only opt for MindBody if this software has a crucial feature that the others do not have. I believe that MindBody was one of the first in this segment, but nowadays there are many modern alternatives. We used MindBody for more than three years and have now switched to Front Desk, a choice that we do not regret.

Pros

\- Versatile with a lot of features - MindBody Online as a company has an excellent self confidence and a well funded marketing department - Reasonable pricing

Cons

\- Slow to work with unintuitive - Ageing architecture, incoherent and partially outdated layout - Poor and unresponsive customer service - The software is not well suited to be translated to other languages

Cons

All in one software. It was important to me that I could run reports, do payroll, credit card processing, scheduling, e-commerce, and marketing all in one place.

Pros

Scheduling made easy but my favorite part is how much faster it is for me to do payroll. Has all the features we could want and more.

Cons

There are a lot of steps to do certain things and it really takes someone who knows the software to set things up and update things. I know the program pretty well now and can navigate through but some of my employees still fumble around. This could also be due to them not taking othe time to do the trainings included.

frëckle had Mindbody years ago and it didn’t have all the features it has now. Then we had Booker and switched to Phorest because Booker didn’t have ease of use. Phorest was even worse. Switched to Mindbody because we are now a medical spa and needed a HIPAA compliant software.

### "Has made booking classes extremely easy"

Pros

I used mindbody online all the time to book classes at my local pole dancing studio and it makes booking classes extremely easy. I just pull up the studio off of my favorites, and it has all of the information that I need: class descriptions, times, instructor name, and how many slots are available. I can also sign up for a waitlist if a class is full.

Cons

It'd be nice if mindbody online also showed classes that I signed up for but did a late cancel on. Since most local fitness studios around here (in SLC, UT) charge you a fee for late cancellations or no-shows, it'd be helpful to see which classes I got charged for.

Back in 2016, they had amazing support. You could call and reach someone anytime day or night. By 2018 support diminished and became challenging. NOW in 2021, IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO REACH ANYONE. I get it that covid affected everyone. But to continue to pay VERY high subscription fees with little to NO SUPPORT is ridiculous. At this point, I feel trapped. I have so many records in this software I can't leave so here I am stuck in HELL. WITH NO SUPPORT WHATSOEVER. I cant even get payment processing support?!?!?! HOW CAN THIS BE. I literally HATE mindbody.

Pros

I liked all parts of this software. It helps me schedule, process payments and do payroll.

Cons

SUPPORT. Glitches in software function EVERY.SINGLE.DAY.

Pros

This computer version of the software has the basic necessities of booking appointments on the schedule and tracking employee data. The web version of the software seems easy to navigate and use. I think that the package and membership functions are solid for retaining clients.

Cons

Overall, our company is not satisfied with MindBody's service because they did not provide a solution to minor tweaks that should have already been implemented in the past. We are paying for their top-level package that includes the branded app which has many design flaws. One of the main flaws includes the fact that clients cannot book multiple services within the app. They have to go back and schedule each service one by one on the appointment scheduler. Second flaw is that our client base is confused about which one of our locations they have selected. When you first download the app, the initial screen prompts you to set your default branch. Afterwards, the default location must be changed manually which is confusing for our clients. I requested MindBody to make the small change that prompts user which branch they want to select every single time that the clients open the app so our clients are clear where they are booking. I wish it was clarified in the beginning about the lack of functionality options the app would have. If you have salon businesses, please beware of certain design and workflow flaws that may present themselves using MindBody. We are in the service industry and just want what's best for our clients. If a software/app like this is going to hinder growth and customer satisfaction, then I'd be a fool to continue to pay for sub-par and regressive business solution.

I have had incredible service with MB management. They are quick to resolve problems.

Pros

I love the intuitive function of the MB software and that it is constantly evolving to meet the needs of their customers and changing technology.

Cons

It seems like the software has glitches, reboots, or down time on a semi-regular basis. I also wish that there was a way to prevent clients from creating duplicate accounts. I know we can merge them and we get a notification but it's kind of a pain.

Overall, mindbody has been a really great tool for scheduling and client communication!

Pros

I like how streamlined the communication between the client and the service provider becomes using this app. It makes life easier for both parties by making is simple to change your appointment/reservation, cancel with the push of a button, send confirmations and reminders!

Cons

Not everyone has the app, and that sometimes causes a lag in communications - but it's not often that this is a problem.
