Mindbody's customer service is unparalleled. I know there are multiple ways to contact them at all hours so fixing bugs is easy. This program had everything we needed. I loved the branded app and the card scan feature.

Pros

I liked mindbody for the ability to set up workshops, classes, and recurring payments. It has a great reports system too so you have access to your data at all times. The number one feature is the mindbody branded app customized to your business.

Cons

Building it out myself was a challenge and took a long time. Mindbody's customer support and onboarding team is phenomenal. Regardless, I suggest telling them what you need and having them develop your mindbody site for you. It is a few hundred dollars extra. But it is worth it!

Pros

What I like most about this software is it is simple easy to use. Many businesses that I go to use it so I am use it a couple times a week. Great for scheduling appointments and such.

Cons

This software is full of bugs, glitches, and lags. It works great when it does. but more often then not it seems you spend more time in idle than actual time on the software. It is in need of an update.

Pros: Everyone uses it Cons: I've had for over 8 years. Horrible. It gets slower, has more bugs, doesn't accept some payments, crashes, tells me I need to log in again, buttons don't work, home screen is private info in front of everyone, customer service is hit or miss. I could go on and on. I try to log people in after their sessions and can't. It throws me back to the home screen or just crashes. I try to accept payments and can't. I try to search and client to tell them their balance and can't. Certain times of the day it works better than others. If you use the customer service email you'll never hear back (I've emailed three times in the last month and not one response other than the immediate automated one). When I do get them on the line, one told me to try "googling my tech problem and I may find a solution", a few told me they'd never heard of my issues, but when I went to a forum on FB EVERYONE was having the same issues. I'm not sure why this page says $45/month because I pay way more than that for unusable software. When I hire someone new they simply can not figure it out and I spend way more time resolving problems. If they continue to run they way they are now they will be closed in a year. It's that bad. When your software doesn't run during the day and your paying clients can't use it, you're in trouble. Got too big for their britches with a bad platform? Not sure but it's horrid. This is the first review I've ever given anyone. That's how bad it is.

### "Not Worth the Expense"

Awful. Don't buy this product.

Pros

Being listed among my competitors and found by other users.

Cons

This is the most expensive and clunky application I have ever attempted to use. The back end is just awful. I signed up for three months because Mindbody said it would take that long to see results. At the end I was out $500 and didn't get a single new lead. I am pretty tech savvy when it comes to using online programs and software. This program was such a headache. I didn't need all the bells and whistles they offered. I just wanted to manage my clientele. It was so difficult that I ended up just setting up the basics and, after I received no leads and, they wanted more money for promotion, etc. I cancelled. They continue to call and email me to try to get me to sign up again. I keep asking to be removed from the list. It is awful that Mindbody has such a hold on the market. There are such better products out there that charge less and function better. Don't feel trapped by them. Get out and search for something else if you are unhappy and, especially if, you are losing money.

### "MindBody Review"

I think Mindbody is a solid tool. The problem is the general customer service people - not everyone has the same knowledge base. I often tell my team that if they aren't getting the service they need then to hang up and call back. We have been gifted a CSM who has been amazing to work with. I do feel very supported by her and we have had some excellent, very collaborative sessions that have initiated some incredible new policies at our studios in terms of retention. I can't say enough good things about her! My team does not have access to her however.

Pros

It has a TON of features. So many that I don't think anyone knows the full breadth of the software's capabilities.

Cons

The reports aren't simple to run. Also the set up with multiple locations can be difficult if all locations share one online store. When the reports are run it's a long list of numbers and the filters can be confusing.

It's a great platform to use for convenient booking because it is also less clustered compared to other brands.

Pros

Ease of use. I like how simple and minimal it is to navigate around the page. I also like how viewing client information is simple by hovering over each card. I also like how easy it is to move or reschedule each booking with no hassle.

Cons

I wish there were more features in the profile editing such as the ability to add concerns that can popup each time before the booking or merging the same accounts instantly. I also dislike the inactive feature that happens automatically after a client has not come into service for a while; this makes our new staff have a hard time locating the already existing profiles and they end up creating a new one, hence more duplication of accounts.

### "Impersonal and Overpriced Premium Support Services"

I attempted to use MindBody for my dog walk company. After speaking with a helpful and knowledgeable salesperson for weeks, doing my due diligence, I signed up for Premium Account Services to help me configure the software to my needs. The basic set up, adding employees, service types was easy. However, the software has many choices and variables. Signing up for Premium Account Services seemed helpful at first. But, be warned there are pitfalls. They do not keep track of your hours (that is on you, which I find ironic considering it's management software). The other issue was the lack of experience of my account coordinator. I had made an outline and flow chart to indicate my needs to the service rep - the structure of the services and neighborhoods. I was told by the initial sales person that this outline/chart would be used to set up my MindBody software - then the coordinator and I would review the necessary changes. Instead, I was walked through by a rep who kept explaining every feature, in lengthy detail, creating more questions than answers. Upon complaining, I was handed off to two different managers, waiting weeks to resolve the matter. They offered me a few extra hours with the same rep. While that works for them (no time/money to get a new rep up to speed) it did not work for me - it did not work the first time, why try again. In the end, I found better software that was designed for dog walking companies (which I will write a 5 star review for after writing this review). I have been attempting to cancel my MindBody account for weeks. There are hoops, many hoops to cancel. I am sitting her waiting for a call back on Friday night, with a 90 minute wait. Even if you cancel, it can take "up to 30 days to process," so they get you to pay for another month no matter what you do or say. I regret entering into their contract and will seek legal action if my account is not canceled tonight, as the email to management I wrote last night went unanswered. There is better software out there...this may be the largest name, but the customer service is awful and you definitely become trapped. They also keep trying to sell me more products - like an app for my business. While I am trying to cancel, they are trying to sell me an app - pathetic. Too big, too uncaring, too one sided. Avoid them if possible.

Pros

I love that you can have different staffing log ins so everyone can have a different permission. I also love the organization of the tabs and easiness of the scheduling.

Cons

I wish you could make more than one trainer on a class (example we co train some of our busy classes) I would like our members to see the co trainers.

### "Could be tweaked"

For the most part, it’s pretty good. They just have some minor tweaks that need to be worked on.

Pros

What I do like about this software is it’s ability to compile the charts of clients as well as have those same clients create their own account where they can view their schedule as well as any class schedules we post. This was great for a private practice that does personal therapy but also has group sessions.

Cons

I wish it was easier to look at the entire list of clients instead of having to constantly go back and search for one and particularly when we first began switching over our entire system. Customer support said they would upload all clients for us but never did so we had to do each one by hand.

Pros

I thought it was going to slow down the sign up process but its easy to use with out any glitches.

Cons

I'm still old school and wish we didn't need software to sign up for classes...that being said...it's user friendly.

I use this software weekly if not daily. I use the booking features to both book and cancel classes/events from the convenience of my smart phone.

Pros

The ease in which one can book classes/events from the app. Realtime calendar allows members to see availabilities/cancellations/waitlists.

Cons

So far, my only issue with Mindbody is that if a monthly membership has not been renewed, there is a small time period where members have to contact businesses directly to book classes/events using their membership instead of paying the "per class" rate.

Honestly, we could not live without you, but we also feel frustration with the experience often and wonder if there is something better out there.

Pros

We live in a town that relies heavily on tourism so the ease of visitors finding us through the mindbody app is important to us. I also love I can monitor what the attendance and sales look like each day when I am away from the studio through the owner app. Checking in on iPads is great for our regular customers

Cons

When I open the general app and every other studio in town (we are a pretty small community) comes up and I really have to scroll to find Treetop. The program seems to be glitchy as well. When we do the updates on the iPads, they never seem to run as smoothly even after speaking with the help team. Credit Card fees are way to high.

They were good back in 2012 when we first started with them. As they grew they became less customer oriented.

Pros

At the time it was a simple product . In the recent years they complicated things.

Cons

To difficult and overwhelming to run. No option of deleting clients. Fees were to high. And service was poor when we contacted them.

At that time they were good.

Definitely my favorite application to use for a studio method setup.

Pros

Very user-friendly. Things were easy to find for the most part. The minimalistic design makes it easy for users to interact and find things.

Cons

Transaction were not depicted very clearly sometimes. Sometimes the application twitched and would crash if I looked into sales reports for too long. Honestly, not too big of a deal.

Pros

Keeps my clients information on file along with there picture and phone number that I can access from my phone.

Cons

What I like least about this software it's that it's down a lot of the times. Then when I call customer service the people attending me don't seem to know what is going on. On top of that there are days where you get rude customer service. That is frustrating when you're not paying pennies to get this type of service. Also have not been able to get the things that I sell in my store in the system because from what customer service said I need to purchase an actual computer to get all my products in. That is actually very inconvenient went out my Center everything is done through iPads. As a business owner you do not have 45 minutes to wait on line to get help when your system is down and it is not once in awhile it is very often most of the time I end up hanging up and figuring it out myself don't have that type of time to waste.

### "Not Impressed with Mind Body just don't go there"

Mind Body you really need to buck up your ideas, you have a rigid system that is overpriced in an increasing market full of new software. Many of my friends and colleagues are moving over to Go Team Up and let me tell you, the customer service is second to none.

Receiving payments from credit card processing was a NIGHTMARE, 10 days to get money and 8 months of constantly contacting them to see if anything could be done. In the end they asked me to shut my merchant account down and set a new one up and this did nothing. Customer services is awful, there are a few who answer the phone who clearly don't want to help you out and reply with short answers making you feel awkward and stupid for even asking. They put their prices up and gave me NO warning of this, price increase, disgraceful!!!!! Reporting system is limited and to find the right one you've got to contact support who take ages to answer the phone, there are so many ways to run a report that it's hard to learn the process. Their system is hard to use, it's not user-friendly. They have no loyalty for customers, when I gave notice to leave they accepted it and moved on, no one contacted me to even find out why I was leaving.

Booking classes has made it easy, I could cancel when I know I wouldn't be able to make it to the class, I found a wide range of fitness centres as well as yoga, pilates, spa, massage and Physical therapy.

Cons

I found that most of the features presented were really far from my location the app needs to communicate with more local centres to make them accicple for customers, I found only the very famous centres.

We are trying to provide our customers with an electronic experience where they are able to purchase services from our facility in addition to the enrollment of various training programs and classes. For the most part, MindBody has provided us a cost effective solution for our clients.

Pros

Allowed for scheduling and transactional processing from day one in a very seamless manner. Launched a mobile app for a reasonable investment. Was able to launch an e-commerce website via branded web in a very short timeframe.

Cons

The credit card processing point of sale system which lacks a chip reader integrated into our desktop system. The POYNT system was difficult to use and hence was returned.

Reason for choosing Mindbody

Scalability and reliability of code. Price. Integration with 3rd party software. Branded web and branded mobile app.

Highly recommend. My business has grown in the short amount of time I have been using the app. Looking forward to the future benefits.

Pros

Being able to schedule appointments with clients I service. Easy to see availability of my schedule and allows my clients to see availability. No need to communicate with them outside of the app. Simple and organized.

Cons

Notifications when things change on my schedule. Before appointments begin, I have to make sure that the client is still coming in by checking the schedule. There have been times I did not receive notice they cancelled.

Terrible! Very unhappy with the value of their product.

Pros

I like that it allows you to book appointments as it’s supposed to do!

Cons

What I least like about this software is the price. I first started with them when they were smaller and it was affordable. Now it’s astronomical on how much they charge you to have a mediocre software. It’s very complex. Everything additional is an upcharge and they don’t treat you with importance. Now you are just another number that sends them money. Customer service is awful until you are ready to cancel. Then they want to treat you like a million bucks!

My overall experience has been positive. Except for login issues here and there.

Pros

I enjoy being able to log in and sign up for a class. I have a lot of interests when it comes to fitness, so I visit more than one studio. Using the MindBody makes it easy for customers to have more control over their fitness experience.

Cons

I have had trouble in the past managing my accounts. Since I need different logins for the studios that I visit, it can get a bit tricky. Since there doesn't seem to be a way for users to have just one log in and the ability to switch between studios once they are logged into their accounts, I think it is important for studio staff to be available to address any account issues if someone is unable to log in.
