Business Owner Health, Wellness and Fitness Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "Great Platform for Small Fitness Businesses" February 25, 2025 5.0 My experience has been great with Mindbody. It is allowing my students to easily sign up for my business services as well as buy membership packages. Some clients also discover my business, through the platform itself. I also use Mindbody for marketing purposes -- I can send out emails regarding studio events and news to keep clients engaged and informed. Pros I love the ease of using the platform and the fact that I have everything in one place. The most recent feature -- contactless payments-- has been a game changer for our business. We are able to charge students who come into our studio using the business app from our phones. I also love that there is a marketing feature I can take advantage of to send out communications to our members, without having to pay for a separate service. Mindbody customer service has been excellent -- every time, I have an issue, they are quick to solve it for me and I don't have to wait on hold to reach an agent. Cons Mindbody takes a lot of fees for new clients that sign up using the platform. On top of merchant credit card fees and the monthly subscription fee, it really reduces my margins. March 8, 2025 5.0 Overall, I have enjoyed my experience with Mindbody. I would recommend it to both customers and venders, as it has a good user interface for both parties. Considering my one complaint is about the style, I would say Mindbody is doing pretty good! Pros I like that Mindbody has a lot of options and it is very diverse for both the customer and the vender point of view. The app makes it very easy to do check ins as a member, and very easy to look at profiles as a worker. Cons I wish the interface had some more color and style. I find the glitches to be frustrating, but I think all scheduling software has glitches. Pros Mindbody is very feature-rich. They are continually adding and updating features. Pros I did not like the product at all from the beginning and it got worse days after days Cons The price is very expensive for the product, not really worth it in my opinion. The worse part is the customer service that was sometimes very good sometimes very bad depending on the person you talk to on the phone. I had a lot of technical issues for months and my clients were very unhappy about that. I asked someone from customer if I could cancel my plan and two different agents told me that I could cancel. At the end, a manager from Mindbody told me that I have to wait until the end of my contract at the end of August to leave the contract. I am not even using the software anymore and paying so much for nothing. Pros Customers are accustomed to using it and can have a profile they use for different businesses. Its simple for clients to book classes. Pros It is well known and reliable for the most part. good customer service if there is an issue. Cons The product search experience is terrible. If you include a space in the search that doesn't appear in the way the product was entered in system then it doesn't show up. for example I searched "post card" and nothing came up because it's listed as "postcard" in the system. Pros Easy to navigate. The support team are very helpful and always finds the answer. They also advertise me in the general app. Cons The price for my small business. Should find a way to price according to size. Also they added on the app if ppl found me through the app, MD takes a chunk out of it. Your account rep will ignore you--if you even know who your rep is. They over charged me and locked me into a contract I was never aware of. STAY AWAY! Pros NOTHING! The check out process was tedious, took forever, and editing patient and teacher info was clunky and inconsistent. Pros Creating schedules you can offer online for solo and group classes worked fairly well. Cons The checkout process was long and tedious and the loading screens between viewing customer profiles took forever. Weight Loss Direct is a personalized weight loss program not a class-type service, so they did customize some of our setup which was helpful. They've worked with us to build out our platform to mostly what we need it to be. Pros Overall they cover our needs as far as scheduling and pos. Cons They lack integration with bigger outside vendors which would help streamline some processes for us. Some of the drawbacks are mitigated by the ease of use and portability. Pros Mindbody is relatively easy to use. I like that it operates out of a browser so you are able to use the rest of your computer. I find that to be very convenient Cons Mindbody can freeze up somewhat often. It is nice that you can just refresh the page or log in and out to fix the freeze but it still happens fairly often. Mindbody can also be fairly slow and that can make transactions feel very tedious. Pros All the different reports are good. User interface seems pretty straight forward. Cons Response lag. Contact Logs window doesn't close when you select one. Sometimes I would like to run reports with if/then options, but I've learned to work with what's available. I don't really like the marketing suite, but we don't pay for any add-ons either. Pros There are so many reasons why we use MINDBODY, the usability of the platform from a business and consumer perspective. It's globally recognised and I always enjoy the sharing of insights. Reports are easy to run and it adapts well to mobile use. Our social marketing agency also uses MBO, so it makes our job easier. Cons I sometimes find it can be clunky in terms of users journey/steps - you have to click back and forth, with too many clicks for each step. You also have to wait for the screen at each step. Pros Fast to respond and pleasant support team. Haven't had any sort of outage. Cons Marketing text can have scheduled time to send text. Insites tabs don't all correspond and require multiple different topics to get the info we need. When creating list for emails / text I have to download list, save a new excel file and re-upload wasting time. emails don't match when sent and viewed through phone. Notes do not allow enough text without buying an external application.
