### "Mindbody is not for Small Studios - Don't waste your money."

Mindbody was great when I first opened my business over 10 years ago. However, I would not recommend it now to any small business. Mindbody pulled fees out of my account for a studio in Texas that I did not own that had a similar name. Thousands of dollars were taken out and it took months for the money to be received back into my account after their error. I had to call daily to get updates on my overcharged account.

Pros

It was easy for my clients to book classes on the APP.

Cons

Small businesses were quickly at a disadvantage to franchises. They had the ability to pay for ads and promos. The APP was continually full of competitors offering big deals. Many small studios including mine eventually left Mindbody to software companies that included an APP for individual studios only. It created customer loyalty.

It has been very poor with the number of issues and very slow response time.

Pros

The scheduling interface is good and can see all the details needed.

Cons

There is no way to do paid in or outs. And there is not a report that has everything covered that is needed. Need to access four different reports to get all the information needed.

### "MindBody - Incompetent and Greedy"

MindBody operates with defective information, illegal rules and horrendous support. Their customer support is poor and inconsistent. Multiple service employees who spoke to us never had the same answer. I purchased the license and merchant account in 2012, and always paid the fees through my bank account. They refused to send the 2012 contract. I know the license and merchant account contract states I am the purchaser and owner. However, they dod not consider me the owner; they told me my employee who was hired in 2018 was the owner and was the only one who could make requests or changes. In preparing to close down the business, MindBody insisted she was the owner even though she was on her way out. This is outrageous and illegal. In addition, last quarter, MIndBody forced our clients to switch to the new app even though many did not want to handle their sign ups and payment on the app. Poor way to treat my customers; we get the blowback for MindBody decisions. They finally now recognize that I am the owner when I want to cancel the contract as studio is closing. MindBody makes cancellation of the license and merchant account almost impossible and outright improper. Here is a recent example. We were told that we would have 90 days after the termination of the contract to download our information. Now, they are claiming that we have only 24 hours to download all of the information. Some information such as liability waivers had to be obtained on each client separately. We have over 800 waivers. Their solution is that we pay them $500 to download the information and send it to us. Extortion! This is only a few examples of how bad poorly MindBody has treated us. Their only concern is to squeeze as much money out of the business. They could care less that the studio is closing down. This is an incompetent, immoral and greedy company. Stay away from them and find a different software.

Pros

In the last 3 years, there is nothing I would recommend with MindBody especially with all the different platforms available today

Cons

Poor and improper customer service to my studio and my clients. Inconsistent and totally incorrect information. We have called multiple times in the last two months, and we get different answers every time. MindBody’s modus of operandus is to protect themselves and their money stream. The customer does not matter.

Generally, I'm pretty happy with it. Just need to fix some of the bugs. For example, I can adjust a recurring "unavailability" on my phone easily to affect just that day. However, I do not have the ability to do the same on the computer browser.

Pros

Mindbody continues to improve every year.

Cons

Sometimes there are bugs in the system that cause glitches or downtime.

Cons

At times, it has crashed and made difficult to log in. But not often. Other than that, I haven't been met with many issues.

Mindbody has been an easy to use system for running the gym where I work. I am usually able to direct members exactly where to go to accomplish their goals.

Pros

Ease of use for signing up for classes and gym time.

Cons

Sometime the servers go down for a few minutes and we can't sign people in for that time. (Gym front desk)

My overall experience was not great. Software has issues and add-on services have MAJOR issues. After years of trying to get customer service to remedy issues with add-ons and no resolutions I finally dropped all those services and eventually wound up getting a 3rd party partner to provide the services I needed.

Pros

The core software has robust functionality, however the system is complex and not intuitive. I spent 6 years working in the software so I had learned over time how to accomplish what I needed to.

Cons

The system has a lot of issues and bugs. You will frequently run into issues where payment processing is not working. The core software functions okay, but the major issues lie in the add-on services like MessengerAI, Branded App, and Marketing Suite. I've tried all of these add-on services only to find that they don't function as promised.

We had a decent run- but ultimately got priced out as the continual increases with out more features didn't make sense.

Pros

Pretty easy to use overall. We switched from a very basic software program so initially the features were nice and allowed for different sales paths that we enjoyed offering to clients.

Constant price increases and upcharging for features.

As a consumer, I think it is extremely beneficial to be able to see classes from different studios. And as a studio owner, there is a special piece of marketing that is connected to this platform.

Cons

I think from a studio standpoint, it can be difficult to manage all the features of mind-body.

great for marketing. I really enjoy their templates to use for email campaigns where i just need to change some stuff around.

has some technical problems. Some of their customer support aren't too helpful

Very Poor. Wouldn't recommend anyone to do business with Mindbody.

Pros

Nothing at all. My experience was different. Poor customer service, poor customer support. Generic emails that the support team is sending. The issue was that after my subscription, I couldn't have access to the app for two weeks. I ended up canceling the subscription.

Cons

The so-called 3 months free promotion they have going on is not free. They will lock your account until the time expires. So basically scamming people.

Talking about overall experience about Mindbody I would say its good and easy to use and the it's fast in report generation

Pros

The reporting part and the flexibility in report generation which we can filter by categories, type etc.

Cons

As of my opinion the user interface feels a bit nostalgic but I like it. It would be cool if it would be more modern. And would be nice if we have "group by day" option in reports-sales by category.

For what we use the software for, Mindbody works decently well. Some of the drawbacks are mitigated by the ease of use and portability.

Pros

Mindbody is relatively easy to use. I like that it operates out of a browser so you are able to use the rest of your computer. I find that to be very convenient

Cons

Mindbody can freeze up somewhat often. It is nice that you can just refresh the page or log in and out to fix the freeze but it still happens fairly often. Mindbody can also be fairly slow and that can make transactions feel very tedious.

Pros

From the end user standpoint, very easy to click links and pay

Cons

Doesn't always fit exactly what we are looking for with ease of use to enter our training sessions. The credit system isn't always the easiest for end users to understand, and thus for us to use.

It had all the features you needed for operating a small fitness studio

Cons

I can’t remember the specific details at this time but I remember that I wasn’t able to offer session packages in a certain way and had to switch to biweekly billing as a work around.
