January 14, 2025 5.0 IndySoft has provided us with the most suitable and successful experience when tracking and managing our assets. It has made it easy for us to gain useful information about our assets and to monitor their status. IndySoft advanced tracking tools makes it easy to have a clear view on our assets and their functionalities. Pros IndySoft serves us with the most reliable assets tracking tools that allows us to keep track of all our assets from one central point. It has a batch tracking function that help us save time when tracking assets by allowing us to monitor our assets in batch rather than individually. IndySoft has the most comprehensive data safety functions which help keep our assets protected during the whole tracking period. It also has reporting and audit trails features which help us gain a deeper view on all the activities on our assets. Cons IndySoft is performing perfectly and we are yet to experience any downsides. Pros There are multiple things which i love about Indysoft some of them are listed below such as:- 1. Indy soft allows me to customize almost everything according to my work need which improved my workflow 2. It provides me detailed insights of assets usage, location and performance 3. It has user friendly interface which makes it easy to use even for beginners 4. The initial setup is easy and straightforward 5. it has a simple and easy learning curve. Cons There is no such major challenges which we may have encountered, we are using there's services from last 3 years now and we don't have majorly any issue with them. Its greatest strength of infinite customizability is also its greatest weakness. The Test Point function works but could be much better (MUDCATS datasheets are amazing). Pros Reports. You can easily track metrics and pull reports about anything quite easily. Cons It's much more customizable than it needs to be. The ability to tailor the software to fit your needs is nice but it should have a fixed structure that cannot be changed. October 1, 2025 4.0 It was tough at first, but now it is easier to use, and customer support is very helpful. IndySoft has made some great changes in the past few years. Pros Great for calibration management of all assets you own and calibrate. It's also great for performing calibrations and creating certificates. Cons It was tough to use at first, but now it is set up very well for our worldwide company. It has each asset in its own file and shows all the events that were performed and the date for each asset. This also makes every audit very easy on the company. I like the fact that there are regular updates which means they are constantly working on fixing issues and including new features. Pros It's intuitive and easy to use with a solid set of features. It allows you to get into the weeds and modify many characteristics of your equipment and how you document them. Cons Changes seem to happen fairly often between updates without much warning. We have had great success using its program to create our calibration documents. Pros This program is simple to use and has amazing features to implement. Its standard set up is pretty much the ay we operate with some small things extra. Cons Implementation of additional features is a large investment of time. There is a steep learning curve when going outside the standard set up. I took an interest in learning as much as possible to best support internally as a System Administrator, \[sensitive content hidden\] was very helpful with showing me the "ins and outs" and was very efficient with our time. 2 years and we are still evolving into the system as it has a lot more to it than our previous software. I would perhaps like to see something like online beginner/intermediate/advanced training courses as purchasable options for the more complex functions. Pros Very versatile. Can accommodate nearly any specific need for internal calibration support with the right configurations. Friendly user interface, easy to train new members to use. Implementation Specialists are fantastic. Cons Some functions/modules such as Print builder and Test Points could use more documentation in the user's manual. Much of it is trial and error, or reliance on IndySoft Support. Without an internal knowledgeable System Admin well versed in the business, it can limit what you get out of the software. Reason for choosing IndySoft Not very flexible. "Clunky". The functionality was not compatible with our other systems and processes. Pros Once populated this is an easy way to log every piece of equipment that is sent to us. As I'm admin, the storage of historic notes and scan files/photos makes booking in more efficient every year. We now have a build up of nearly 7 years. Indysoft is in constant use throughout the day. Pros IndySoft makes it easy for us to access our assets remotely from anywhere without having to travel to their location. It uses very sophisticated data security features that makes sure that all access to our assets is safe and protected from cyber attacks. When working properly it is the best thing to use for certificate making. Customer service is great for when you need trouble shooting. The engineers/software developers are super nice and are always ready to help you. I love how they set up zoom meetings and stay on line until all of your issues are resolved. Pros How easy you can customize the software for your needs. Cons the software tends to crash constantly. I fix the issue and for some reason the system does not automatically refresh. At the time of our first use, this was not software that you could simply install and be productive in a few days of manual reading and watching YouTube training. Technical support is spotty. It varies a lot based on which support person you get on the phone. Eventually you issue gets resolved but it can take some time and effort. Pros Indysoft is very capable and can do most anything you desire if you are willing to invest time to learn it and get it customized for your application Cons Indysoft has a very steep learning curve. We found the out of the box software was not suitable for our use and we needed to have many basic forms created before we could use it. This was about 2022 so things may have changed. The ability to have both calibration data and tool tracking data in one system has been the most beneficial aspect of the software. We have been able to deploy IndySoft at multiple locations globally to bring all sites into one system and standardize our process (previously each site had their own process and software). This has been incredibly helpful. Finally, IndySoft as a company has been great to work with. The IndySoft support team goes above and beyond to help answer questions! Pros Our organization was looking for a system that could perform calibration (acting as a commercial calibration lab), record calibrations done by third party companies, and track tooling in our facility after it left the calibration lab. IndySoft could incorporate all of those processes and more. The flexibility to design workflows around an organization's existing processes was the most attractive feature to us. We were able to configure the system to look exactly the way we wanted for our operators. Cons While the calibration features are very advanced, the tool tracking/ management features could be improved. Dedicated tool tracking softwares are organized to better support a tool crib process.
