Not Good The software did not support our existing Cash Drawers so I had to purchase 2 new ones in order for it to work correctly. ( Our old POS works with our original and the new drawers ) Plexis support was ok and they did make at least a few changes to accommodate rotating 'specials' on the menu. It is unfortunate the Plexis expressed the inability to add support for custom meal times that crossover between AM and PM between two dates. Being a Bar our shifts crossover from one day to the next every day we work. After 12months of use we had to return to our previous POS software package that works exactly like we need it to. ( only reason we switched is because the owner of this POS passed away and we lost his support for the product ) Luckily we know the product well enough to continue to use it. Other companies would be well advised to copy this POS setup as it does exactly all the things we need it to do that Plexis is unable to do such as the custom shifts or "meal periods"

Pros

No reoccurring monthly charges - ideal for small mom and pop type business Good starting price and multi station capable Good screen appearance and arrangement for touch (looked almost identical to our original POS) Seemingly strong support

Cons

#1 - Loss of data. The program constantly loses bar tabs in to thin air. I have witnessed it first hand. User will open a tab and simply exit the tab and it will disappear never to be found again. Happens so often we have lost hundreds of dollars using this POS due to this. #2 - Inability for this POS software to handle closing out shifts that are between AM and PM times (Will only close out for the calendar day , not for the shift ) The Plexis support told us that even if we wanted to pay for that feature they could not accommodate it. (All popular POS systems support defining custom shifts.. example: Micros and our original POS) #3 - The end of day reports are never correct and contain details we don't need and not enough of the simple breakdown info we do need. (Our old POS does this perfectly)

Reasons for choosing Plexis POS

The look was similar to our existing POS ( that we have returned to using ) The price - was available at an affordable price without requiring ongoing monthly fees Ongoing support (even if it cost $$ ) and multi-terminal support
