has dramatically improved our ability to manage membership renewals, as well as improve our communication with our membership.

Pros

Ease of use.... The website builder is very good and can be integrated with all the other features in . Flexibility..... You can taylor the system to your needs. Functionality....its feature set is very comprehensive. Document management via its document library. System Stability - We have not found any areas of the system that are unstable or "buggy".

Cons

It doesn't yet integrate with XERO.....but I understand it is on the way. It doesn't yet integrate with STRIPE....but I understand it is on the way. These two limitations are not deal breakers to us as we, at the moment, use other systems for accounting and membership renewals. allows us to update its finance section with what we need although this is a manual process until STRIPE is integrated in 2020. Being a small organisation this is not such a big deal for us although I do understand that it could be a big issue for large organisations.

Very satisfying, particularly as a person new in the role of system administrator.

Pros

I came into the Communications Director role at our Yacht Club with no knowledge of this system but a considerable background in IT. Online resources for familiarizing myself with the system and getting into full swing in my role were excellent — especially short videos on topics I was looking for. Context-sensitive Help screens are also very well done. I also like the flexibility — e.g., the ability to set global preferences to avoid numerous entries when changing those preferences. Also, the ability to replicate entries like calendar events by setting them up as recurring items is very nice.

Cons

No specifics come to mind at this time. I think it’s very well designed, and in my first month of use I have not encountered any error messages or outages.

AHARI is an all volunteer organization --- I had to complete question "how many employees in your org" to get past it ---however, we have no employees - no one is paid. We believe that the functionality that CE has in its modules will enable us to "routinize" some of the tasks given the ability to seutp "business rules" and enable us to focus more on growing the organization. The support has been terrific! Re: question below - our "old" websie was developed 3 or 4 years but did not meet our needs given that it was pretty much static.

Pros

Very suitable for an orgaization such as AHARI in that we can manage members, non-member list, post & "advertise" events wi th the use of the event calendar & detail plus email blasts, photo module that includes exhibits, archives, etc, can be used as a "central respository" for the organization's records, photos....summary - its feature/functionality closely fit our immediately needs relative to membership managment, event communication and virutal exhibits.

Cons

Not so much the software... I would suggest that CE split up the 2 hours of training: 1 hour for pre-implmentation and the 2nd hour after all the data, etc has been loaded. Some time on the control panel & setup re: options and subsequent results would be of great benefit as the pre-implementation piece... and also pointing out which componants need to be addressed early on and why.

### "Makes managing members easy"

Pros

I like: the ability to communicate with all members in blast email' that it assigns membership numbers automatically and sends reminders about membership renewal, being able to check for bad eddresses (email addresses) and print labels for members without email.

Cons

It doesn't automatically inform you of duplicate or lapsed member applications so that "old" numbers can be reactivated and new numbers aren't assigned. Once a number is assigned, there isn't a way to make it usable again if it was in error.

### ""Village" Management & Communication - 1-stop Shop"

We use Club Express for just about everything digital in running our Village except some non-bulk emails and telephone: membership, billing, website, bulk email, document storage, news reporting to members, committee communication, inquiry tracking, service and event management. The Club Express software is an undergirding foundation for us.

Pros

Comprehensive scope for a Village. Software widely used, and thus fully vetted by hundreds of Villages. Designed for setup by clubs/ Villages who don't have resident HTML/ web expert. Quick, helpful, answers - from real support people - when the excellent user guide or administrator guide or extensive video tutorials don't suffice (they usually do). Continual, customer-influenced improvement. Real sense that Club Express folks CARE about us our Village members, our issues, our wishes.

Cons

Unintended results rarely but sometimes occur when multiple windows are open simultaneously.

Pros

Club Express includes many features. It could be possible for CE to be your only online platform for a membership organization. I chose it because this platform allows members to customize their annual renewals by choosing optional add-ons. I also like that members can update their information, I can send out emails, and members can sign-up for activities and make reservations online. It also allows each charge to be specified as taxable or non-taxable. All of which saves administrative time and allows more accuracy. It is a very powerful tool. CE allows us to monitor annual renewals daily.

Cons

The interface with our accounting software is not seamless.

Wild Apricot did not include some of the features I was looking for. I have used MemberTies for years and still use it as our membership database and for member check-ins (it offers very good filtering capabilities), but it does not offer the online member interface that newer products offer.

### "Glad We Found ClubExpress"

When our web developer decided to "retire" and there wasn't an option to continue to use our current site, we found saved the day. It has nearly every feature we could imagine using and the initial setup went very well. This included importing some of the data from our previous site. For a non-profit club, we found ClubExpress pricing was very reasonable and we've been very happy with the service. The documentation and video tutorials have also been most helpful.

Pros

The setup was fairly straightforward and didn't take very long. Migrating from our old service went well. has worked very well for our club over the past several years. The cost is also reasonable and far less than we would have paid for another customized web site. Excellent support and video tutorials are great.

Cons

There are times when, as an administrator, it is hard to find what you're looking for. However, the Support team has always been willing to help.

After decades of managing memberships for high school wrestling coaches, Club Express has been able to drastically reduced the paperwork and money collections. Member can use credit cards to join or renw memberships or they can use checks as needed. Overall, this has reduced my work a lot.

Pros

I had been looking for program or organization to manage our membership database and Club Express was very useful. We can register coaches, renew memberships and notify members when there are activities available for them to join. Membership renewals can be done online and that was our biggest request. When renewal is near, members will receive an email about renewing, eliminating the lengthy process of notifying members.

Cons

Learning how to use the many functions. Not interested in doing lot of fancy functions and not loving reading pages of instructions - too lazy! But there are tutorials available.

MSWord table works fine but I needed something that others could view as needed. The coaches needed a public directory that is current.

I was not a direct contact with the initial start-up team but was quickly acclimated as I needed to manage our membership. Very few problems, and they were just my learning curve. Very good product!

Pros

Compared to our previous site, CE is extremely easy to use, and maneuver around. The variety of reports is very nice. We had only been utilizing Ce for a couple of months when we began registration for our annual motorcycle rally. We also had membership renewal starting at this time. Despite having this brand new resource, we had minimal problems, and an almost 99% computer based enrollment. Past years had us having to send people paper registration forms because they couldn't manage dealing with the old website.

Cons

The only thing is that we had our start-up right as we needed to register people for our winter rally. We had almost zero time to get comfortable with CE - but the site is so easy to learn, that there were few issues. We also quickly appointed one of our members as our "go-to" when we hit a question. I think this is not a criticism, just our experience.

Reason for choosing ClubExpress

Was not on decision team. However, the person who found CE and made the initial contact told us that this is the first product he'd found that he believed was "under sold", meaning we'd be very impressed.

Overall it's a good product and very helpful for the small clubs like QTC. We're very happy to have it and use it daily. Can't imagine we don't use an online tool like for managing the club affaires.

Pros

Easy to use for members. Keep all data in the same place. Great tools to communicate with members via notifications/emails, etc.

Cons

Can't easily remove a past member's info from the database. Multiple steps or confusing steps to delete a name from the database. System automatic messaging process. Very confusing as to Who/When/How will get the messages

We now have a single version of truth (in real time) relating to our membership data and club vehicle data. This has saved a lot of time and angst for our volunteer committee members and allows us to present financial data (member status etc) with complete confidence. We also manage all of our documents through Club Express. For our club, Club Express has taken important and sensitive club information off peoples' personal computers and put it securely in the cloud. We can now manage who has access to what, but more importantly, those who need access have it any time they need.

Pros

Easy to use, support our club administration very well. This package has taken us from using purely paper based processes where information was mislaid often, to real time membership data that ensures we have the most accurate information about our membership and a single version of truth. The website builder is also simple and flexible, and the blast email function is very useful.

Cons

The product is very US based and we have had some issues with using this in Australia. The spelling of words as per US standard has put a few of our members off, and we have had issues with the letter vs A4 format of printing, especially around newsletter labels. The time stamps on some things also causes some confusion as some items show up as yesterday based on the US time zone. I do believe these topics are being worked on though.

Event coordinators come to me to help set up and event. After the event is up the coordinator often gets questions he/she cannot answer and turn to me. I resolve the question or go to the Club Express Manual or call the help desk. My experience with the technical support is very positive, they are professional, understanding and showing respect for the person (me) who has very little IT back ground.

Pros

Ease of use and the the little help/explanation lines that are added to many functions

Cons

The amount of possibilities that can lead to the same result when working with the website as an admin. It is difficult to work on a project and then having to go back and forward to check on for example dates terminology, information I want to use and then realize the window is gone and I have to open the specific spot again. It would be helpful if I could just "park" my worksheet somewhere in a way t is available when I go back to it.

I was on the board when we decided to look for a comprehensive membership website. The lead person had done much research and its recommendation was sound and made sense. A matter of trust. By the way my answer in the industry question on the first page of this questionnaire does not represent our organization. Entertainment is not correct. Social Community organization or even service club would better to describe it.

### "Solid platform with less than ideal user interface"

Pros

The backbone is very solid, the database and features are very reliable.

Cons

Club Express has not been very responsive to requests for improvements from our club, even when our webteam shows them how to update their platform to improve functionality and user interface. The Event Registration process is critical for our club and is really convoluted and counter intuitive. The Event posting process has been improved but is still rather complex for non technical users. The Emailing functionality is similarly overly complicated. Many aspects of the user interface could be improved. The platform works very well for technically savvy users and not so well for most users who are less sophisticated.

Overall Club Express has been an excellent platform for our Association and has proved able to support our growth and changes.

Pros

The Club Express software allows the organization to manage the website. While on occasion this requires a learning curve, the manuals and learning videos are very good. When needed the service center has also been very helpful and provides a reasonable response time.

Cons

The only area lacking is in some customization. As an association software there may be items that are specific to an industry and not part of the common platform. This either becomes a paid upgrade or a delay until more organizations have the same need.

Our club has had an excellent overall experience this this management tool. It has cut our membership management time down drastically and allows easy access to the records anytime anyplace. Great investment for our club.

Pros

This online membership management tool has it all; from managing members, communicating with members, to great website design. An all inclusive suite at a great reasonable cost based off of number of users (members).

Cons

Not too many. Sending emails to members was a bit cumbersome, but the company has been updating their email module lately (I have not fully reviewed it yet).

Overall we love , the support from their team is always fast and helpful, they're constantly working to improve the functionality and it's a really affordable option (compared to some other products out there).

Pros

has been a great way for us to manage our organization. They're constantly making updates that improve it's functionality. We moved from using a much more expensive membership platform and have been impressed on what we can still do on CE.

Cons

The only negative I see is the overall user friendliness of . Things aren't always placed where you would think they would be nor is it always easy to find what you're looking for as a user and as an administrator. For instance, I had a member ask me how to create a forum the other day. Instead of there being a button or link on the page to create a new forum, you have to go to the control panel and navigate through a few different screens. Not awful by any means, but user friendliness is the only issue I ever run into.

I've been very frustrated by the "almost", it's almost an amazing product but it's clunkiness and difficulty of use makes it very frustrating at times. Customer service not been great, either they don't care about fixing the problem bordering on rude at times or they are super sweet but not knowledgeable about the program. Almost all the problems I had are still issues and have not been fixed.

Pros

I love all the features and modules. It's the only program I could find that has all the features I need.

Cons

It's very clunky and not intuitive. Some of the modules ALMOST work super well but fall short. For example- not being able to block out individual days on the schedule. Payment screen is not clear on how to change the amount you want to pay, use of coupons and submission, 1 out of every 4 customers has an issue on the payment screen. The search feature on our Business directory doesn't and has never worked have a ticket in for over a week asking them to fix but still broken.

Despite my issues with the program it is a powerhouse of a program for the cost. It really was the only program I could find that had ALL the features I needed.

Pros

I set up our website using this product for our paddle club. Our members find the site easy to use, and if there is a problem, and they can't reach me, the staff at Club Express is just a phone call away. The site lets us plan trips with less than a days notice so we can check the weather forecast before we list an outing. Everyone who sees the site is impressed with the its capabilities. Because the system automates so many club functions it makes it easy to administer the club.

Cons

The site keeps changing to expand its capabilities, and unfortunately, most of the time the changes either add capabilities we do not need, or change things that make it harder for us to use the system. It seems to be a problem that is unavoidable with a wide spectrum of users.

I like it. I have never used anything else other than email and excel. This is a wonderful tool that all clubs should use.

Pros

The value is fantastic. It has so many features. Which is good, and bad. Complex means difficult to learn first time you use it. Must use it frequently to maintain skills and interest. The more you use it the more you like it. Then you start to see the what if’s to make it even more useful. We are so lucky that we have an administrator who is knowledgeable, available, responsible, friendly, and patient. Without her, it would be a disaster! The ability to upload and download information is wonderful. Communication to people is easy. I love the fact that people who sign up for an event are forced to pay with a credit card right then. Makes it easy to schedule events successfully.

Cons

Users have to be interested (of course) and put time in to learn. If easily frustrated and you lose them, you lose the ability to communicate with them and keep them involved. That is severely detrimental to the goals of our organization: to attract and maintain members !

Without question we have found the best and most economical solution to managing our growing membership base. The ability to have a complete software solution - one stop shop - in managing our membership which includes marketing, shop and finance solutions has been amazing. We are based in Australia and the ease of customisation, set-up and "go live" was done within a few weeks. The complete package. Most importantly we appreciate the ongoing support and upgrades to the product.

One word: unpleasant. I avoid using it as much as possible.

Pros

I don't like anything about it all. It's unwieldy.

Cons

Ease of use is my biggest complaint - it is so user unfriendly. It's nigh impossible to format a page properly - copy and paste screws up the formatting and there's no way to fix it. I was looking at a member's subscription status and suggested creating an invoice for them since they couldn't log in to pay their dues. I kept backing out of the transaction, or at least I thought I was, until I was stuck with three invoices I couldn't get rid of. I could not comprehend how the system could create an invoice when I had backed out of the transaction halfway through it, and if there's one thing I can't stand, it's messed up financial transactions. A prompt asking if I was sure I wanted to quit the transaction would have been real nice.

Pros

I like the design & html tabs when modifying webpages.

Cons

I would like to see the curser appear on the first field of any pop up window. I am a keyboard person. I dis-like having to move my mouse over to the first field and then type the necessary search information. Also I would like to see a "go to date" in the event calendar section - some events are scheduled many months away & it's frustration to have to click on the next month many times - just to get to the correct month

### "Looks great and we're still learning"

Working with our designer went very well in the set up and rework phases. Our designer was extremely skilled and knowledgeable and answered our many many questions with unwavering patience. Since we are now functioning and doing some things ourselves we rely on the Technical Support staff who have all been very helpful when we emailed or called.

Pros

Having several administrators who can input, update and run reports on their specially assigned areas, makes it possible for our organization to keep the news fresh and our members/audience informed. We really like being able to have a visually appealing website and being able to change the pictures on it.

Cons

Working with this platform we've discovered has a learning curve. The Administrator and user manuals are of limited assistance because while they speak to functionality, we are often looking for step-by-step instructions and we don't know what result we're going to get. We rely on Support staff to explain outcomes and the best way to achieve them. The canned reports can be cumbersome to work with and they may not provide the information we're looking for.

We chose for its high functionality and interactive platform. Our organization is large and busy and we needed to be able to provide an updated consumer-facing experience and a comprehensive member experience.

I love our rep. I don't love that the company does not seem interested in expanding to the growth of its customers. We have outgrown this software and we have to pay extra to get features that we need. We should have access to all data and report in any way we need it. The report titles don't make much sense and some are not created in the file you ask for it and it doesn't tell you why it's not compatible. It should not allow you to ask for an excel if the report is not compatible. At one point we paid for upgrades that were specific to our group, then we found out they made this available to the other customers. They are willing to do anything that is within their scope. Their team is very nice and they do their best. We have simply outgrown what they offer.

Pros

This is a great affordable option for small associations or clubs.

Cons

Data reporting is subpar. Many features are antiquated.
