Hands down the BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE OF ALL TIME

Pros

I've had nothing but great success with Gym Assistant. We have been in business for 16 years and have used Gym Assistant the whole time. The \[sensitive content hidden\] of the company is a straight shooter with nothing but top notch customer service personnel. The integration they have with the door controller system as well as the ease of use with online sign-ups has allowed me more freedom as well as savings every month because of my minimum staff requirements. A huge thank you to Bio-Logic Gym Assistant for all their great help and expertise! A huge part of our mutual success is the personal attention I get from them. I've never had such great customer service from any other company. That is saying something!

nothing is ever perfect with computers...

Pros

Ease of use. I have used this product for over 15 years. Easy to use and train on. Have taught many front desk people on this platform with ease.

Cons

Limited merchant service choices. For gun software there is a very limited amount of merchant choices and they are very expensive.

Very good. I am satisfied. I sold the gym and working remotely so the reason I am no longer using it is because I do not have a gym.

Pros

Very convenient and easy to use. The set up was easy and even when I needed to change computers, it was very easy transition.

Cons

Having to pay extra for occasional phone support. I think you should offer some level of phone support for the product at least a few times a year without charging.

I had gym assistant for a dozen years. Then opened a bew gym where i tried 3 other platforms and came back to gym assistant. Simple and to the point

Pros

Simplicity. With a variety of employees, the simplicity makes it easy to traon new employees and minimize errors. Also like the flexibility of plans etc. And the low on going costs.

Cons

Remote access although available, tricky. Online access from a website would be nice as i travel a lot.

Overall, we have really enjoyed Gym Assistant. It has helped us tremendously in starting our business.

Pros

The simplicity of the program. I can easily find reports and information on members quickly and efficiently. Also- the customer service when we do have a problem/question is ALWAYS top notch.

Cons

It doesn’t allow you to add “due dates” to day pass membership options, allowing these members to have access to our facility after their membership has expired. Also: does not automatically send renewal messages to members.

My overall experience is that I am happy with the program.

Pros

It is very user friendly. Easy to use. Being able to pick what you want on reports is a great feature to have, it makes my job a lot easier. The Gym Assistant is great as well, anything I needed help with I went to manual first and I was able to find what I needed with out contacting the company for help.

Cons

I took over membership for our fitness center in August so I haven't worked with the program for that long, so far I haven't found anything I don't like about it.

The software is easy to use and requires minor knowledge on how to use a computer. For the most part it’s easy to figure out on your own.

Once a member is deleted you can’t reuse that member number.

Overall, we are pleased for all the reasons previously stated.

Pros

Being able to use GA, GateKeeper, and ProShop altogether is extremely convenient. It is fairly easy to train new employees with all programs. The auto payment batches are easy to run, keeping track of member info is easy, and use of the new portal is convenient to us and members.

Cons

The time zone difference when needing assistance is probably the least convenient thing.

Good system overall for what it does. Poor customer service.

Pros

Able to allow 24 hour access to our gym through the card software. Its easy to use most of the time, but there are some glitches. Easy process and new member entry. We like the SMS feature that sends text to notify of denied access or membership due.

Cons

Its expensive. The customer service is non-exsistant once you pass your initial trial unless you pay them an unreasonable customer service fee. They won't even respond back to you on small questions unless you pay them first. Every little option cost extra. In a small gym like ours this gets to be very expensive and digs into our overhead. Their system is very off and on again and sometimes freezes up and won't let people in, usually on weekends when the office staff isn't there. We would switch, but honestly there isn't another option for 24hr access systems.

Payment processing and member tracking are both super easy. Anyone of my staff can use this software without messing things up too bad.

Cons

Only allows 2 doors otherwise you have to buy an entirely new upgrade that costs thousands so I'd you have tanning beds or sauna rooms, you have to pay a crazy amount of $$ to add them to system. Vizpin is not the best either when it comes to keyless app access. Not a fan of Vizpin

Running a gym and being profitable means managing costs very carefully. I am so happy to have a product that is not subscription-based. When I purchased the gym the \[SENSITIVE CONTENT\] of the company help me get this product running in 2 hours and there was disruption of service during the transition.

Pros

The quality and stability of the software. I have used the product for over 10 years and software defects are non-existent. This critical since I have very minimal staffing how for a 7 day operational environment. Adaptability to meet your business model is very intuitive and easy to tailor.

Cons

I do have some challenges with punch plan memberships. Operationally there are some limitations that could be improved. There are some reporting challenges as well.

Overall we are thrilled with this software and what it does for our gym. It saves me so much time on billing and collections as well as helps me retain members. I have cut our losses due to non-payment to 1/4 of what it used to be by the integrated billing alone. Pro shop allows me to keep inventory and see sales of products daily. I can see our monthly signups and collections as well as revenue projections. Id recommend this software for anyone looking to open a gym or looking to get away from all the monthly fees some software charge to use and give yourself all the control.

Pros

I like that this software gives you everything in one package! The best features are as follows: Checkin/Door Monitoring system, Easy member signup, Billing Integration, Pro Shop and Dailey Sales, All the documents it allows you to print with ease, e-signature capability, the texting and email functions. This software saves me time in the billing process and allows me to easily reach more past due members and retain them. Also there are no monthly fees you buy the product and its yours.

Cons

Some of the Contracts we use are not easily transferred to the documents files used. This doesn't allow us to use some of the prefilled-out things that could help make us more paperless.

Loved this software from the start and have continued to value it and the great customer support with each new year. It makes managing a gym with a vast array of retail and 24/7 access needs a snap. The access control works great and the integrated "Door Watcher" program has cut our surveillance hours in half. This is a great product and even greater people associated with it!!!

Pros

I loved the simplify of the software from the beginning. We needed something with access control and POS and this offered it all without needed a lengthy training course to use it. The ability to customize membership settings to match our unique plans was essential.

Cons

I believe we came into this company quite early and thus have been able to walk through some of the growing pains associated with growth and added features over the last 12 years. The reports had some glitches early on that had me concerned, but have been cleaned up nicely.

Reason for choosing Gym Assistant

We needed software for member management, POS, and access control. Many of the companies offered two of the three and/or wanted a substantial substantial payment up front with a monthly fee for use. The affordability of the software at the time played a major factor as we has just taken over a struggling business, so money was very tight to say the least. The simplicity of the software also played a major role as it gave us the ability to customize it to meet our needs without needing a lot of help to do so.

I have been very happy with the price and options that gym assistant offers and with their customer service.

Pros

I like that gym assistant is affordable! Their customer service is great and it’s an easy system to use that allows you to be hands off. As a small gym owner we can’t afford systems that huge corporate gyms use and we aren’t staffed all the time so having hands-off options is so important!

Cons

It’s a bit outdated in some ways. Some of the features that are the most important to running our gym don’t work super well all of the time.

Automatic renewals linked to credit card processing is a must. Key fob entry for 24/7 access is great. Key fob readers that continue to work even when the main computer is down

Cons

The constant updates that seem to have a lot of bugs. My thinking is because they are so often they are not being thoroughly checked before sent out and we have to update immediately which can be a bother when in the middle of something.

Gym Assistant is very easy to use and the product support for us, based in Australia, is excellent. It is a relatively intuitive programme to use and new staff have very few problems working with it. I appreciate the inexpensive upgrade capabilities as our membership grows.

Cons

We would like more functionality for marketing purposes when emailing clients.

Certainly price and ease of use. Being able to purchase the product outright with a relatively inexpensive annual support fee was also critical.

Great overall experience with Gym Assistant, its a great software and there is always great customer service when needed. It has all the features and buttons we need to operate our gym and keep our member base growing.

Pros

This software is easy to use, and it's easy to get new employees trained on. It has good features such as - notes, alerts, sms/txt messaging, reports, utilities, revenue projection, and much more.

Cons

in the new upgrade the "record a payment OR pay balance" option is unnecessary and if you select the pay balance option it is not shown under the "last paid amount" section. Would love to see some development in a gym assistant APP. was told that this was already in the works. our business would definitely take advantage of a user app where members could check their due date, membership status, and check in history

Pros

Gym Assistant was very easy to setup and learn. We primarily use it for membership management and payment processing at our fitness center. The Gym Assistant help center was very helpful in getting setup and always available to help with any questions. Overall, we are very happy with this product.

Cons

It would be very helpful if you could process more than one transaction at a time, instead of billing a member's card twice. For example, if a member wanted to purchase a class punch card and merchandise, it would be helpful to run it as one transaction.
