Payroll Director Construction Used the software for: Less than 6 months ### "Kronos upgrade" June 9, 2021 4.0 The project manager was great, keep us on target. We should have asked for a different rep for the time keeping piece. It felt like he was learning the product too. Also, he didn't understand the activies/work piece so we felt like we went in circles. Once it was setup it had to be re-worked because it didn't go to the activities piece. I believe had we know that the charging time to projects had changed we probably would not have selected UKG. Huge shoot to Chanelle Birch, she help setup our activities/work. I really enjoyed working with her. Pros It does capture time very well. We are multi-state and it knows the rules of each state. Cons The new activities/work feature. It's disconnected with the timecard. Hours should match and they don't if someone isn't paying attention. In California someone can use makeup time, move OT to regular in the same work week. The activities/work doesn't capture the change, the time stays as OT. Reason for choosing UKG Pro We've been with Kronos since the early 80's. The product is good and has changed over the years. Senior System Business Analyst Insurance Used the software for: 2+ years ### "UltiPro" September 25, 2018 3.0 Pros The dashboard allows for customization so that each user can select the items that are most relevant to them. it also allows for easy access to Human Resources specific information including internal job postings, tax information, and direct deposit options. Cons We have had occasional outages which the company promptly resolves. During this time users are not able to log in and hourly employees are unable to punch in or out. I would not choose this software for my companies first choice in human resources. Pros I like most about the software is the ability to look at your time punches and its accuracy. You are also able to model your pay with taxes and deductions configured too. Cons What I like least about the software is that I lost wages due to a glitch in the system. When I emailed them about it they forwarded it to my employer who wanted to fire me over it. I emailed Ultipro to bring their attention to the issue I experienced using the software and to get reimbursed for the monies the glitch had cost me. No resolution came from it. It is easy to use, if I need help I get it fast, and all my information is in one place! Pros UltiPro makes it easy to track your employment, employee information, income, T4, and a whole lot more. This makes it easy to do most things yourself like printing your payslips, changing your address, etc. This software is secure and navigation around the site is extremely user friendly. I have never had such access to my employment records before it has been so beneficial. Another thing that has been amazing is the customer service. It is always fast and efficient. Cons having to put in a code every time you log in can be a little annoying but I know it is for the safety of my information. There is an option to pause the codes on the device you are using for 30 days which is helpful! I have gotten used to the interface over time, but I always have to explain things to new hires because they don't understand it at first. I wish they would hire a UI/UX person to overhaul the platform. Pros UKG Pro allows me to have access to a wealth of employee data about myself, and ensure that my company's records on me are accurate. It also provides a way of tracking my yearly goals in anticipation of performance reviews. Cons Overall, the UI/UX of UKG Pro is not intuitive and can be very confusing. For example, when I am trying to approve a timesheet for one of my direct reports, I seem to have to approve it in two different places before they actually receive the approval notification. There is a ton of clutter on the screen that makes it difficult to parse where exactly I am supposed to look or click. Review Source Jessica A. I love everything about them! Staff really go above and beyond. Have great retention tools for ongoing customers. They continue to be open to customer feedback as well. Cons Reporting. BI functionality is great for advanced users or companies with a designated HRIS team but if you are a small business (under 500), it can be difficult to simply get what you want quickly. Wish they had easy reporting (like SuccessFactors or ADP) and then BI for advanced users. They were great at answering questions, keeping up on track and helping us successfully implement this software in our organization. Pros This product has allowed us to connect more directly to the WFReady module we utilize. We did not have the ease of this when previously utilizing WFCentral. Cons The reporting is a little difficult to work with. The more we have become acclimated, it has become easier. It would be nice to have the ability to select more areas to add as columns in the reports rather than being limited to the list generated for the report that is already created in UKG Dimensions. Pros Ultipro best trait is the ability to customize the settings or features in a way to mold it on how the business works.This is a very intuitive tool, that even our non tech people can manage and control their own data and find everything they need on UltiPro. The cloud provides a real-time information including reports and dashboards that has the ability for employees to be able to navigate seamlessly and manage their information is made an impact. Very easy to use. Cons Very limited on the workflow process in web based. Some features are slower than other, not sure if its because the data is too much. Excellent customer service and we receive quick responses to issues that are mentioned to the IT team. Very user friendly overall. Pros Primarily the functionality of integrating multiple aspects of business into one UI. Set up is easy once you get used to it. A few processes could be improved but overall a great experience. Cons I work a lot with the Recruiting Gateway portion of the software, so integrating a way to customize default job descriptions aside from meshing them with the job codes would be ideal. Perhaps inputting a drop down list when selecting "Create" on the users main dashboard that allows them to select from a list of uploaded JD's. However, working through other certain recruiting processes and updating information is quick and seamless. Representatives feel like salespeople, rather than actual users of the product. Conversations have a scripted feel. Pros It is easy to navigate and is intuitive. Cons When changes are needed, it seems often the answer is that the functionality is hardcoded and is unable to be changed without a significant monetary cost. People can view payroll information enroll in health benefits during open enrollment. As a member of the HR team, I use it for employment verification, salary analyis, and much more. The system helps me do my job and become a more efficient HR member. Pros The system is user-friendly and easy to navigate. We can also add additional features if we choose to. Great customer service and support. Cons I wasn't a big fan of the performance management module. The employee's had some confusion around the process. The way we use it is simple, and I wish we could implement more features that Ultipro offers. It's also widely enough used that occasionally new hires will have used it previously. Pros When you first log in, you can go to your own, personalized dashboard. To set this up, the employee "favorites" the categories they want to show on their dashboard. I work where we only use this for time entry, and it's set up the way we like to report time. There are options for a "clock-in/clock-out" timesheet as well. We simply enter the hours and pick a category to which our time gets allotted. (jobs, projects, pay type such as PTO, Work from Home, Company Meetings, etc). This way, the company can track the way each employee's time is being used. Cons There are many options we don't use and they still show in the menu, making it a little confusing for onboarding. Although clocking time away from a computer is convenient, the app is a little clunky when it comes to this. It's much easier on the computer. I wish the app were more intuitive and fluid. As an employee, I've​ found this software to be user-friendly and easy to navigate. The web-based portal provides step by step instructions for me to update my benefits and payroll deductions and also provides detailed guidance for annual benefit elections. I also really appreciate that I can go into my Ultipro account and manually update my direct deposit instructions if there's ever a time when I want to split part of my paycheck between multiple financial institutions. Within Ultipro I can select either a fixed dollar amount or even a percentage of my paycheck to be split between accounts. Cons As with any payroll software, there are some limitations. I have found that Ultipro does not process payroll information quite as quickly as I would like, specifically, they issue the end of year W-2 data much later than other payroll systems that I have used. It's a 'one stop shop' for information related to human resources, be it related to ones insurance, pay, PTO, etc. It's a no-frills information program that gives you everything you need. Pros UltiPro easily presents you with information about payroll, tax information, retirement contributions, vacation time, insurance information, and pretty much any other human resource information necessary at one glance. Cons The password process is cumbersome. It seems like every time I log into UltiPro, I have to regenerate my password, and it's a multistep process. Review Source Jeremie G. Despite how used to it I was, it still gave me issues with small things like PTO requests. That being said, they also made some helpful updates that made life easier. Before the updates, it would allow me to clock on or off twice by mistake, but after the updates it gave a warning saying "you've already clocked on" if you tried to clock on again. Nifty. Pros I like that it's easy to use and I can favorite certain items to keep on my dashboard for easy clicking. Cons Submitting Paid Time Off requests was a nightmare. Pros I like the easy to use menu option, the punch in time card is easy to access. Although we use a different software for my benefits, I can still access the link through this software application. It is very clean and easy to read, visually appealing. It also has a "most recently used" drop down menu which is very nice because I usually just use about 3 different tabs within that menu daily and then the rest of the tabs I use maybe once a month. Cons The accruals section is a bit confusing to navigate as a user. The customer service works on a case system which is usually always a slow response time. Review Source WE Whitney E. December 28, 2023 5.0 Pros I loved using UKG Pro - first, it is so user friendly and seamless. It is so easy to log in and clock in and out. The system was very appealing and make it simple to clocking in and out super quick and easy. I absolutely LOVE how simple it is to request time off and the system shows you everything you need to know, along with simply locating paystubs. We have found no issues during our first 2 go live payrolls. We had constant issues with previous time and attendance vendor. Pros Functionality and Cleaner. User friendly for employees and Supervisors/Managers. Cons Reports are very complicated to build. Too many different areas to go to and not intuitive enough. I have taken all the classes and still do not feel comfortable at all in modifying or creating reports. Have to go through payroll rep so things are lost in translation. Too many issues that caused pay issues that could no longer be tolerated.
