Wish we had more active notification when things are down. Notifications go out a few hours after they start and usually after I've called in and been told it's a known issue. Cons Some ease of use items don't exist or we've been waiting a few years since they were suggested in the share ideas portal. As a couple of examples: -A basic copy of open enrollment or life event set up was suggested at least 3 years ago. It was added to benefits prime, but not regular benefits. That's a basic feature that all of your competitors offer. -The ability to change an email address for a new employee in onboarding has been request for multiple years as well. Pros The product is easy to use. The product provide an immense amount of reports that are all customizable. As a payroll manager in my prior life, I find the Gross Up pay statement type so easy to use and avoids mistakes in calculating. And I know I already said reporting but I have to say something about the specific report the Recap and Funding Report. Every client I work with is always excited about this feature. This report is every payroll manager and CFO's dream. It provides current and past payroll information to help you audit and be informed about the biggest expense a company has....their payroll. Cons Clients find it challenging to determine which reports to use when due to the large library of standard reports. Review Source RM Rita M. It is truly worth the investment for any firm of any size. Pros This is quite a time-saver for management in that there are so many features for helping maintain payroll and attendance functions. It is one of the most reliable systems I have ever used. Cons There is some lag time between when a new associate is hired and when they are enrolled which I think is not software related, mostly our HR department's issue. Once you understand the system, it is easy to use. However, it does take work up front. Pros The time management program, as well as the ability to manage employee information and benefits. Cons The reporting function could be improved. At the very least, more training sources could be beneficial for the BI functionality. I'm hoping the launch of advanced scheduling and analytics will help. Pros I like what we've seen so far about Analytics. We are almost done with the setup. This is the product I'm most excited about. Cons The timekeeping solution. There are several additional steps our managers and employees have to perform to update timecards. Granted, it's not a big deal as it's just extra clicks, but they're not pleased. We've also had issues with punches showing up in the wrong timezone somehow. I can request time off from the app, check my punch times so I can clock in/out appropriately. There is even an org chart for your company. Pros While on the app, the functionality is a bit limited, but when accessed from a computer, there is a lot of details you can view and edit (if allowed by your company) regarding your profile, benefits, time off, etc. it is very complete, with work summary, details about employment and it connects with a learning platform so everyone can be up to date with the lates company policies. Payroll stubs are also viewable and you can be notified when they are ready to be viewed. Cons Maybe more features could be accessible for employees when using the app; it seems a little limited. At our workplace, sometimes the punches are not recorded on the employee station, causing problems with hours because it does not register them. Review Source Yeni O. July 7, 2018 4.0 Pros The UltiPro user interface is intuitive,easily customizable ,easy to navigate and i have been impressed with how UltiPro has continuously improved over the years ,with new features being added regularly. UltiPro has been superb for my team as a tool for time keeping. Cognos analytic is a stand out tool on UltiPro , and simplifies the process of reporting on our payroll. I like the standardized report ,and the freedom to edit the names and modify them to fit our business need is priceless. Cons Ultipro's workflows are very limited . I will like the user interface remodeled in a way that we are able to view the "compensation-history" from one page , for every staff in the organization. It would be better if the company would utilize all of its features and allow basic access from home. Pros As a user it is a very straight forward system. I use it mostly for timekeeping. The company I use it at could do more with the program based on its capabilities. Cons As a user you cannot access this software from home. I am sure the company has it set up that way. You should be allowed to access remotely for basics. It is a good fit for someone who does not want to spend too much time setting up a time/payment program and would like a lot of options already loaded. Using Ultipro has made time and pay management easy and understandable for me. Pros The visual layout of Ultipro makes managing time, payments, and benefits simple and easy to understand. The layout menu that shows all your options is an additional reminder to pay attention to important dates and to keep track of hours logged. I receive emails from Ultipro about managing time and paydates which I find extremely useful. Complicated documents are easy to pull up - I never feel like I'm forgetting to do something important with Ultipro. Cons Although Ultipro provides many options for managing time, pay, and career goals, it's hard to work outside the guidelines put down for it. This has only come up a few times, when I've wanted to request unpaid time off but the layout only suggests that I can take paid time off. It looks nice but is not user friendly with a lot of issues. Not a smooth enrollment. Pros Looks nice and updated. Cleaner look and newer. Cons It took me weeks to just get my self logged onto my account to do PTO. No one in customer service helped. They kept having issues with my email and password on their end. It was very frustrating with little to no help. Once I was actually logged in, every thing was incorrect, hours were missing, it was very difficult to use. Things are in places that you wouldn't expect. A lot of the set up didn't make a whole lot of sense. Our whole company had a long list of ongoing issues with the set up of this software for our payroll and HR. It's slowly getting better but the process has been painful and frustrating. Helpdesk Specialist Information Technology and Services Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Best HR site I have personally used" July 25, 2018 4.0 Allows me to view all my HR information all in one location. Pros Been using this site now for our clocking in and out at work for 5+ years. Very easy to use. Site has never been down, always up and works. The site is speedy to navigate. Allows me to easily and quickly log in and out. Allows me to pick easily pick my insurance every year and has all the information I need on the site. Allows me to quickly get a brief overview how many sick/personal/vacation days I have and will earn. Can hop in and request days off very easily and then view a yearly calendar to see what I have already added in the future and the past. We also use this for our performance reviews. Not a fan of those but the site makes it work OK. Site times out at 30 minutes and it gives you a countdown before it gets there, so it makes it easy for me to see when to clock back in for lunch. I can also view my paycheck stubs here. It is very nice to have access to all of this in one location. I also hear it integrates with AD credentials but we have not implemented that. I have used other HR websites such as Kronos and this one is so much easier to use. Cons Honestly I cannot think of anything negative to say about the website. I have never had a problem with it. It's not user-friendly and is full of bugs. I would never consider signing off on such a mess. I've been encouraging our HR team to switch to another, user-friendly software. Pros It's what I'm stuck with, unfortunately. The one thing I can actually find easily is my pay history. Everything else is horrible. Cons EVERYTHING about it is difficult, if not downright impossible to use. Want to change or edit that typo in your quarterly goals? You can't. Want to specify the number of dollars to direct deposit to your credit card? Not happening. Request vacation time instead of sick time? Nope. Want to click on the "Save" button to proceed to the next screen? It's not there. Want to review your previous goals, else? It MAY be possible, IFF you can remember how to navigate the labyrinth of screens to get there (but don't expect to see all of your goals at the same time- it's not possible, either.) There are still some aspects of the system that do need to provide more customization. Designer Apparel & Fashion Used the software for: Less than 6 months ### "This software has the potential to be epic" November 19, 2019 5.0 Here’s a scenario: UltiPro shows an announcement for Open Enrollment and a link to read more (from another website, for some reason). Some of those elections can be made in UltiPro, which is brilliant because I don’t have to learn how to use a whole new system. But, for no good reason, there are tutorials on how to use the software within the software. Wouldn’t it take less time/resources to make the software usable than to make a video about how to use the software? I still think this software could dominate the world (in a good way, that is) because it has a good grip on centralizing the features and minimizing the need to use other software for similar features (except, in our case, to read more about Open Enrollment). Pros I like having a centralized hub for everything from Time Management and HSA contribution modifications to company announcements. This software allows for pretty good customization and is not something that is an out of the box solution. Cons Some features are used more than others, and the “others” aren’t necessarily able to be removed. I also am not sure that a scaled down version makes sense for the mobile app. I think it is predictable that a scaled down version would be a good solution, but removing features for a mobile app seems a bit lazy. It would be better if the mobile app had the same features, just redesigned for a mobile experience. For example: While I may not expect to change my HSA contributions from the mobile app, I should at least be able to see my time off requests and approvals. Review Source KD Kelsie D. Pros Submitting time off is quick and easy with UKG, and you can clearly see if your manager approved it or not. It's fairly easy to enter hours as well. Cons Sometimes if I hit a wrong button when entering my times in, it would force me to refresh the page and start over. Also, the balance of PTO could be clearer. Review Source KF Katherine F. Should be an easier way. Schedulling shouldn't be as "plain" as it is on the platform at the moment. Pros The features that are not related to time management work and are easy to use. Cons The features of this that are related to time management are the worst. We should have asked for a different rep for the time keeping piece. It felt like he was learning the product too. Also, he didn't understand the activies/work piece so we felt like we went in circles. Once it was setup it had to be re-worked because it didn't go to the activities piece. I believe had we know that the charging time to projects had changed we probably would not have selected UKG. Huge shoot to Chanelle Birch, she help setup our activities/work. I really enjoyed working with her. Pros It does capture time very well. We are multi-state and it knows the rules of each state. Cons The new activities/work feature. It's disconnected with the timecard. Hours should match and they don't if someone isn't paying attention. In California someone can use makeup time, move OT to regular in the same work week. The activities/work doesn't capture the change, the time stays as OT. Reason for choosing UKG Pro We've been with Kronos since the early 80's. The product is good and has changed over the years. Cons We have had occasional outages which the company promptly resolves. During this time users are not able to log in and hourly employees are unable to punch in or out. I would not choose this software for my companies first choice in human resources. Pros I like most about the software is the ability to look at your time punches and its accuracy. You are also able to model your pay with taxes and deductions configured too. Cons What I like least about the software is that I lost wages due to a glitch in the system. When I emailed them about it they forwarded it to my employer who wanted to fire me over it. I emailed Ultipro to bring their attention to the issue I experienced using the software and to get reimbursed for the monies the glitch had cost me. No resolution came from it. It is easy to use, if I need help I get it fast, and all my information is in one place! Pros UltiPro makes it easy to track your employment, employee information, income, T4, and a whole lot more. This makes it easy to do most things yourself like printing your payslips, changing your address, etc. This software is secure and navigation around the site is extremely user friendly. I have never had such access to my employment records before it has been so beneficial. Another thing that has been amazing is the customer service. It is always fast and efficient. Cons having to put in a code every time you log in can be a little annoying but I know it is for the safety of my information. There is an option to pause the codes on the device you are using for 30 days which is helpful! I have gotten used to the interface over time, but I always have to explain things to new hires because they don't understand it at first. I wish they would hire a UI/UX person to overhaul the platform. Pros UKG Pro allows me to have access to a wealth of employee data about myself, and ensure that my company's records on me are accurate. It also provides a way of tracking my yearly goals in anticipation of performance reviews. Cons Overall, the UI/UX of UKG Pro is not intuitive and can be very confusing. For example, when I am trying to approve a timesheet for one of my direct reports, I seem to have to approve it in two different places before they actually receive the approval notification. There is a ton of clutter on the screen that makes it difficult to parse where exactly I am supposed to look or click.
