Learning the in and outs of the program only took a few days but we do not regret out decision to switch! Pros A very versatile program with ample room for customization and an incredibly helpful support staff. Cons The graphic design and user interface could be a little more polished and appealing. Pros Practice-Web system is very easy to navigate. Also, if I have any technical difficulty, their technical support is available even on weekends and they reach out pretty fast. Cons The least I like about the tool is that the bone graft has no tooth number option so I would have to edit it on our EDI solutions website. I hope they can update this. Pros This Dental Management Software is excellent. Comprehensive record keeping that is easy to use. I like how the software is set up with separate modules that are easy to use. Cons There are so many features that there is a learning curve that takes some time to incorporate all the potential features of this software. It is an excellent software product with excellent customer service and support. The database is MySQL which is fast and efficient. My only regret is that I did not implement this product 15 years sooner when it came out in the early 1990s. Tech support has been responsive and helpful and with help, it has been able to meet most of our needs. Pros I really like Practice Web Connect. We are able to communicate with patients in a way that is more comfortable and convenient for them. I also really like that we can call tech support instead of sending a help ticket. They are also very helpful and responsive. Cons While the software has a lot of flexibility and customization options, it is a bit difficult to know how to make the software do what you need it to, without having tech support remote in to do it for you. April 4, 2023 5.0 Practice-Web has been solid in the basic functions that I use, primarily insurance billing, patient account management, document storage - including x-rays. It has been very stable and is updated fairly regularly and in using it I have the impression that I am keeping up with all of the possibilities that technology offers in running my "specialty" dental practice which is limited solely to Skilled Nursing Facilities. Pros PW is quite easy to use and is robust in its reporting capability. Over the 40 years that I've practiced dentistry I've used Easy Dental, QuickDental, JDent, and Practice-Web. Of these, PW is by far the best for its integration of several functions. I especially value the ability to scan and attach documents to each patient record! Cons I used to be able to categorize patients by SNF (skilled nursing facility) using a special field in the software. This made it easy to sort in this way, but, unfortunately, this field was taken over by Open Dental a number of years after I had purchased Practice Web and after that it was no longer available for my using it in the unique way that I did. I really miss that function! I also wish that there were shortcut keystrokes for data entry rather than mouse clicks only. Although we try to combine updates as much as possible, they often come with changes that impact security and integrated tools, so we have to roll those out in a timely manner to ensure everything keeps working smoothly. It usually only takes a few minutes though, so it shouldn't impact your flow much. Our cloud-based solution doesn't require updates - you always have the latest version. Pros The software is very easy to use and includes everything needed for compliance purposes. Cons Not having the option to edit the price and cost of procedures in an excel (Microsoft) format is a bit laborsome when you have to adjust pricing after a treatment plan has already been entered. At the moment, if I need to edit the cost of a procedure, I have to open each procedure entered and adjust the price individually. It would be great if we can adjust the pricing on a procedure without having to click and open each procedure.
