### "Awesome Relational Database Management Software"

July 22, 2021

5.0

The overall experience with PostgreSQL is really amazing. It always creates a buzz among developers.

Pros

PostgreSQL is one of the best relational database management software or probably the most advanced open source relational database out there. The query language always gives an edge to create tables and sorting out the data and even train them with BigQuery machine learning consoles and others.

Cons

Nothing to dislike about this software. Because it has a lot of usefulness plus regular updates and bug fixing keeps the software at its peak everytime.

### "offers great advantages in terms of performance and that its simple maneuver allows us to define cus"

March 13, 2018

5.0

allows us to create databases using different programming languages, PostgreSQL is available for many platforms and offers the source code from the official site. Users can create their own data types, which can be completely indexable thanks to the GiST infrastructure of PostgreSQL

Pros

It is free and free, which offers us a large number of advanced options. It has a multiversion concurrency control. This method adds an image of the state of the database to each transaction, allowing us to perform possibly consistent transactions. Postgres does not require the use of blockages. reading when making a transaction which gives us greater scalability. It brings a lot of flexibility to our projects as it allows us to define customized functions through several languages

Cons

the transactions abort completely if a fault is found during its execution, which can cause the loss of information, it is slow in the insertions and the updates since it has intersection headers, the object orientation support is a simple extension that offers benefits such as inheritance, not full support. The current versions of PostgreSQL have a serious security problem that will be fixed in the next versions of the product

### "This is another of my DBMS for some of our apps and is very stable"

April 12, 2018

4.0

Pros

This DB server has a powerfull set of functions that has permitted to our DB Admin to generate more efficient reads and writes on it. The fact of having this kind of DBMS available on OpenSource is very good for organizations that needs to save some money in IT platform

Cons

According with us, configuration of PostgeSQL may result complicated, because of this is an advanced DBMS. Interfaces to manage are not simple, at least for me.

### "Great open source relational database"

September 5, 2019

4.0

It's a great tool and perfect value for money, since it's completely free. Perfect for small and medium sized applications.

Pros

It's the best open source relational database available. It's a full featured database, easy to use and integrate to you software. It's really consistent with the SQL standards.

Cons

The official database management system offered from PostgreSQL could be better, it's fourth version is only available as a web application. PostgreSQL is not as popular as MySQL and it may not be recommended for very large applications due to memory performance.

### "YES"

September 7, 2018

5.0

PostgreSQL is my go to for databases for the web development work I do. It has a ton of datatypes that are super useful and has a lot of the features found in the giant (and expensive) competitors. This is a fantastic tool.

Pros

PostgreSQL is powerful, performant, and a snap to integrate with the languages I use.

Cons

The documentation sometimes doesn't make it immediately obvious which version you are looking at. You have to be really careful you aren't using old documentation with a newer version of the product.

### "Very easy to use for a Developer's point of view"

April 11, 2018

5.0

Very user friendly. Won't take much time if you know SQL. Very useful for a developer.

Pros

It support the JSON. With Citus, an open source extension to PostgreSQL, it's now easy to scale out PostgreSQL across multiple nodes and intelligently distribute transactions and SQL queries to get massive parallelism, as well as a much bigger compute, memory, and disk footprint for the database.

Cons

Till have not found anything, except one thing. Sometimes it takes time to run the query. Don't know whether it's because of PostgreSQL or server.

### "PostgreSQL - Powerful Object Relational Database"

October 21, 2019

4.0

PostgreSQL might not be the best among all DMS available, but it is definitely the best at what it is designed for when used properly.

Pros

PostgreSQL is known as a Powerful Object Relational Database with an impressive reputation for performance, feature, robustness and reliability compared to many other databases on the market. It is an extremely scalable database management system with many powerful tools to exploit data, making life super simple. It is open source, free and you can deploy PostgreSQL practically anywhere and anytime with as much user as needed. Similar to MySQL Phpmyadmin, PostgreSQL has PgAdmin which provides a GUI and SQL interface. Last but not least, PostgreSQL is highly extensible and provides online backup option.

Cons

The speed for data selection is not as speedy as some other RDMS on the market. You must regularly execute autovacuum to ensure no deterioration to performance.

### "Love your relational database again!"

April 20, 2017

5.0

Postgres is by far the strongest database relational engine, it's a one package solution, it will hold tons of transactions with no problems, it is highly reliable and high performance based. We use Postgres to hold the data for both our web app and Mobile apps, we use a web service layer that interacts directly with the data base and it works like a charm. It will also allow you to store things like JSON objects (JA! Take that MongoDB!) and use those objects and even create search queries based on that data.

Pros

Easy to install, high performance, hold many kinds of data fields, highly reliable

Cons

The CLI is not the best option when your tables have several columns

### "Postgres is the most effective Open source Database"

December 4, 2017

5.0

Pros

It's open source. So, its great for startup companies. It is fully SQL compliant. The admin tool PGAdmin is powerful. I am impressed with the custom data types supported by Postgres mainly JSONB.

Cons

We faced problem while using custom data types like JSONB. Inserting data to these type of columns via Hibernate is not straightforward. We referred a couple of articles on that to resolve the issue. https://github.com/thjanssen/HibernateJSONBSupport/tree/master/PostgresJSONB

We use PostgreSQL for our project to store data, It really helps our work to go smooth.

Pros

PostgreSQL is fast and secure, easy to execute SQL, and handles a very large set of data. PostgreSQL is easy to set up and its support in another operating system

Cons

consume lot of memory for a large set of data, and bit slow for very large set of data, except that everything is fine.

### "Most featureful open-source database"

December 5, 2018

5.0

Pros

Tonnes of features, great performance. Many problems where you might use a fancy noSQL database you can just use one of Postgres' features instead.

Cons

Can be relatively complicated to operate. While there is a large ecosystem around Postgres, it still requires significant expertise to pick out things like solutions for automated failover (and solutions aren't built-in to Postgres).

### "PostgreSQL is te best DBMS out there."

November 9, 2017

5.0

Having a robust DBMS for our database is great.

Pros

PostgreSQL is a robust yet very easy to use DBMS. You can trust PostgreSQL to save your data no matter how big it its. It is very well documented and the community that develops it is the best (thanks guys!). In the newer versions it nows supports saving JSON data so you can use it as a NoSQL solution. PostgreSQL is simply the best.
