We had some small troubles at start but it is definitely worth it. Now it works like a charm ;-) Pros \*Big and warm community \*Forever free and open source software \*Faster development than other database engines, for example MySQL. \*A lots of utilities for administration Cons \*Too many settings and some of them you must change/set before usage. \*Upgrade process is not simple, even for minor versions. \*Your knowledge from MySQL are not much useful for PostgreSQL. Cons The user system is kind of weird when you compare it to other DBMS, but except that I do not have any big issue with postgresql! Pros 1) This database is scalable for big data/cloud platform. 2) Can be easily integrated with deepstream subscriber for real time data streaming purpose or cache data. Cons 1) Queries are not always easy to find and build as keywords are different from other databases. 2) In some cases, performance may be a issue if database cluster is not set up properly. Pros I have been using this app since last 8 months and I love the easy interface that Postgres provides. It is super efficient when it comes to firing queries, and provides error messages for queries that are easy to understand. Cons I always used windows pc for Postgres, but people in my class who had a mac had issues using postgres. So the professor advised them to use virtual machines that were installed on computer lab PCs. It is very robust and once set up it is easy to maintain and hard to break. PostgreSQL is completely free - there are no licencing fees of any kind, which makes it a great option for any project. Pros PostgreSQL is lightning fast! It is an amazing solution that is quick to learn, reliable, and completely free. It seems to be faster than its most famous competitors with larger databases in particular faster in PostgreSQL. Cons The documentation was hard to follow. Other than that, I haven't found any issues with PostgreSQL so far.
