Pros I love the fact that for one monthly fee, I can have up-to-date creative software. I never have to worry about whether or not my programs are obsolete. Pros I love that Adobe Creative Cloud offers so much freedom and creativity for its users. The range of different software programs, photo-editing, graphic creation, video-editing and more, make it possible for the user to create original content digitally/ Cons There is a bit of a steep learning curve when first using the different programs. Even for those trained in one program, say Photoshop, it can be difficult to navigate the quirks and unique features of another, such as Illustrator. One thing I wish we could change would be creating more uniform keyboard shortcuts throughout all the different programs. For example, it's frustrating that command B does not yield "bold" on InDesign when that is used universally to create bold lettering in other programs. Having Camera RAW available as a filter is one technical aspect I value the most in Photoshop CC. Cons Value for money is non existent here. I still have my CS6 and "new" Photoshop offerings are just sub-par at the best. I have been considering to drop my CC subscription as CS6 can do 99 % of what CC offers. The program I have the least experience in is InDesign, and after a colleague of mine was let go I needed to learn how to use it to work on her files. Learning to use the programs together has made it easier to make that transition. Pros I like how all of the programs can be used together. I recently took a course that has enlightened me on how easy it is to integrate the different programs. There are many provided resources to master the applications provided in the Creative Cloud subscription. Once learned, these programs make creating much easier and incredibly increase efficiency. Pros I love how easy it is to download and install apps, as well as update to newest versions of their software. There are also other web-based applications, like Behance and Typekit, that are great assets across the Creative Cloud application. Login and syncing across devices is streamlined and easy. Cons This is not much I dislike about the Creative Cloud. The subscription price can be a bit pricey if it is not provided by your employer or you don't use it everyday professionally to justify it. Cons It is very expensive for what it is, I would prefer the old model of pay once and get that software not the subscription model, we pay £1000's a year and don't see a great deal of value out of it. The Support has also not been great, after having a lot of issues trying to change an expired credit card on the account it took 3 months to get it sorted, resulting in us not having the software we needed. Since a lot of our work overlaps across these products, Adobe has proven itself as the gold standard for our work in magazine publishing. Pros Easy transition between Adobe products is the #1 benefit. As a publishing company, I'm using several of these products sometimes simultaneously, so a translatable interface and easy workflow is essential. Also, Adobe does a great job of communicating and educating users on updates and improvements. Cons STEEP learning curve! You have to be patient and dedicated to get the most out of this software. It takes a ton of practice and can be frustrating at times, but it is so worth it. You'd be hard pressed to find a decent competitor for this software family that does a job as good or better. Pros The Adobe family has certainly solidified its position as one of the absolute best out there. With everything from Photoshop, to Illustrator, Audition, InDesign and all the rest, there's never a shortage of tools to get the job done. Most if not all of these software offer cloud based backups and they work on multiple devices, including handhelds for the designer on the go. Cons I'm not the biggest fan of the new subscription model, I generally prefer once off payments and that's it but, I guess when the product is this good, we've all got to bite the bullet. Also, much like most software of its kind, this will definitely require a decent mid-range to top of the line PC in order to run everything smoothly. Review Source Tony M.
