Pros: Ease of use. Table side ordering and payments is great.

Cons: Stability has been a challenge in the past. The development team has turned the corner and just needs to keep their eye on quality from here on out.

Overall: We have been implementing Order Entry in our primarily franchised restaurant chain. The stability of OE has improved greatly from a year ago, as well as the enhanced features. The OE team is great. They are true partners. We collaborate on features and product enhancements regularly.

In the field our servers love the product. It is simple for servers to pick up. They are usually up and running with an hour of training. The managers struggle a little because they need to learn a new workflow. But once they have built the muscle memory they are fine. This product will be driving value for our chain for years to come.

Recommendations to other buyers: Make sure your application support team understands how to communicate. The greatest challenge is updating current processes with new features and enhancements. As the product grows, your organization will need to communicate the benefits of the new features and how they are to be rolled out in your organization. If you are to gain benefits from enhancements, there will be work to be done.

Comments: Northstar Order Entry is familiar the moment you put it in your server's hands. The ease of use is paramount to overcoming typical change management issues you may encounter with other systems.

The enterprise content manager allows you to configure data to meet the needs of your brand at the level of granularity required.

As early adopters, we are working with our Partners at CBS to bring in the features that we need to meet the needs of our business. This came with some bumps and bugs, but CBS's support and development teams have worked tirelessly to stabilize the product and bake in quality with every release. Keep up the good work, guys!

Pros: Red Flag compliance Secures Customer Sensitive data such as financial and personal identification numbers.

Rules Engines that supports uniqueness of a utility's workflow to be "configured" vs "$$customized$$" as part of industry best practices.

Excellent Customer Self-Service via the web modules.

Strong cashiering/payment functionality.

Intergrated Financials.

Cons: Weak on Customer Relationship Management functionality.

Overall: Perfection solution for multi-service utilities or municipalities with 10,000 to 100,000 customer accounts.

Comments: Northstar is great. Easy to use, teach and maintain. Support staff is friendly and helpful when there is something I can't fix on my own. I use Northstar in 4 restaurants and I will continue to use it going forward.
