Submitting a project is simple for our employees and the voting/comments features allow for great interaction among colleagues. As an administrator, I'm able to customize pages easily with widget editor. Cons BrightIdea is always improving their platform, but as an admin, it does have its quirks. Sometimes matching fonts size and color on an HTML widget can be frustrating. There are so many capabilities, that it is overwhelming in the beginning and some features don't seem very intuitive, but after awhile, you get the hang of it. It's worked better since we transitioned to a lighter-touch approach to generating ideas, but for a more structured approach and review process, it can start to become difficult and cumbersome. Pros Speed of being able to spin up new sites is fantastic - if you're not looking to customise much it's quite simple to get a professional looking site up quickly. Cons Customising and implementing things like workflows, editing the homepage format etc. can be very cumbersome and inconsistent, as it seems like there's a migration to a new interface that's half-complete, which makes things quite confusing when you have to navigate multiple places to customise different aspects of one page/site. I believe we made an excellent choice as a company for choosing Brightidea 2 years ago. The fact that Brightidea is also evolving and willing to take on suggestions as a means of continuous improvement of their platform is quite commendable. The company lives and breathes innovation par excellence! Pros I have found the customization features relatively easy to use compared to previous platforms that we adopted. The ability to add steps and create rules in the innovation pipeline set up helps to create the various dynamics that we needed as we shape our relatively complex innovation and product development process. Integration with our processes was a bit challenging at first, but overtime we found ways to adapt the platform to meet our needs. Cons The ability to have all the functionalities we enjoy on the desktop version within the mobile app option would definitely be a good improvement. Reasons for choosing Brightidea We had an extensive RFP process and Brightidea came on top for ease of customization and one of the key advantages that Brightidea had was the ability to have the business do their own customizations rather than raise an IT ticket every time a process change or modification needs to be made. This decision came down to the total value proposition for the company and not just for a few departments within the company. Great evaluation tools. Amazing API library that allows both to integrate new functionalities as well as other third party systems Cons The project management tools might be improved. However I guess this is not born as PM system. I think that the front-end design might be slightly improved (it should be in the next releases).
