This is perfect for those who send teams to the field who need to quickly and easily share data with home office personnel. Quick uploads, quick downloads, reliable cloud storage, and generally easy for all users to learn. Great with Windows, not sure on iOS and Linux. For me, as a more field based engineer, these capabilities have been a game changer. Cons It's not widely implemented enough yet, and I tend to have to explain it to a lot of people at first. Hopefully, that changes as this style of file management catches on more widely. Easy to learn even for people from non-development stream. Support from the Boomi community. Cons When a user got registered for training, they receive an email says Training accounts will be created in 24 hours. But there are cases where it took 3-5 days.Send an inquiry email and setup. When we are introducing Boomi to a new developer/pears this step makes them start with a negative mindset towards the product. But later down the road they are liking it. Pros Ease of development, testing and production implementation Cons The licensing while straight forward is somewhat tiresome as we have to constantly review connectors we already have in place to see how we might reuse them in order to save a license. Also, I wish there were some better options for setting up KPI measurements my management is interested in seeing. September 28, 2016 4.0 I was tasked to create an in-house process which would convert billing data from a comma-delimited format to a standard EDI 210 Motor Carrier Invoice format allowing us to eliminate the use of the EDI "middle man" we had contracted with two year prior. Using the on-line Boomi documentation and the on-line "Community" forum guided me 90% through the process. After a call to Customer Support and with their response the process was completed. I did encounter an issue renaming the file(s) to be sent but Boomi Customer Support leveraged their internal resources to figure out the problem and provided an alternate solution which I have put into place. We are now using Boomi to convert the billing data to a standard EDI 210 format, giving each file a unique name and transferring the files seamlessly to our customers through the automated scheduled process. Working with Dell Boomi's Integration Consultant made this effort possible. Since then we've made process changes, additions and performed regression testing for a system upgrade. As this was the first time I did this, setting up the processes to achieve this was a great benifit. Business Analyst Automotive Used the software for: Less than 6 months ### "Switched from SSIS to Boomi" November 7, 2018 5.0 Pros Previously we were creating our integrations using Microsoft SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services). The wire diagrams spanned numerous pages, all integrations had to be poll-based, and the deployment process was very clunky. We switched to Boomi and now our code management is much lower due to Boomi's ETL functionality and recyclable code. More important, our integations are much faster -- real time, in fact -- because of Boomi's event-driven trigger support and simultaneous executions. Cons We are limited by number of unique usernames and passwords (end points) according to licensing. So that forces us to still process "cats and dogs" integrations through other programs such as SSIS. We would prefer to centralize it all in Boomi! Review Source MB Mitch B. Not being able to support NTLM authentication or having up to date connectors (AtTask) are a few biggies. Smaller items like the inability to change the order in the resource fields of the HTTP force the user to copy and paste is one of the smaller issues.
