### "Happy Campers!"

February 28, 2026

5.0

In short, the experience has been nothing but positive! The platform implementation was seamless and user friendly! We are all feeling an increase in transparency across the board!

Pros

I have thoroughly enjoyed how streamlined communications with clients have become. I am able to seamlessly communicate with remote clients and share files with ease!

Cons

Thus far, no cons! Ultimately, communication is UP and errors are DOWN! The implementation of the platform has helped clarify where the team is on a project!

### "It is ok for managing everything mostly"

January 24, 2026

4.0

The first thing I used was Trello, but it broke pretty soon at more than a couple of employees and I had to buy Basecamp. This system provides the client with an opportunity to see their own, proof and marketing schedule, taking out a lot of phone calls. Less usage of Slack as well, since comments are related directly to each task.

Pros

My coffee has gone cold and this desk is to small for 2 monitors but Basecamp manages the sprint without blowing up. I was pleasantly surprised the AI formatted my notes correctly, unlike other programs that create chaos with them. We do all our frontend and QA ticketing thru Basecamp, it is nice that they do not vanish into thin air. They also provide us with an additional view of the board and calendar, which is whatever.

Cons

The most frustrating thing about Basecamp is sometimes it seems like they put to much emphasis on features and I lose track of where things are located, especially finding the CRM section. The largest pain point is I am unable to enable my camera when I am creating a video clip for the team, which makes zero sense.

### "Not the most user-friendly app"

March 27, 2026

3.0

I wasn't impressed with basecamp overall. As mentioned I had a tough time finding where things were and staying organized in the app.

Pros

I didn't find basecamp to be very user friendly, the interface is a bit scattered and confusing, and I didn't like the way it was organized.

Cons

The interface, the difficulty of finding where things were, and the constant confusion when trying to navigate within the app.

Our social media team used the platform and preferred that we switched to it to communicate with them about content scheduling and approval.

### "A Clear and Simple Way to Manage Work"

September 24, 2025

4.0

We've used Basecamp for over a year across our 10-person marketing team. Overall, it’s been valuable for keeping communication, project tasks, and file management in one place. It's especially helpful given most of our team is remote. However, there are trade-offs. There are things that work well and what could be improved, from my perspective. If your team values simplicity, clarity and housing discussions/tasks/files in one unified workspace, Basecamp is a strong tool. For organizations pursuing highly detailed project planning, deep customization or advanced analytics, you may find there are limitations.

Pros

Here are the top reasons Basecamp works well for our team: • Somewhat intuitive and easy to onboard new team members. • Centralizes communication: message boards, chat, automatic check-ins that we can house with designated project spaces. • Encourages organized structure – for each project, you can keep tasks, files, discussions all in context, reducing emails or other project management tools.

Cons

Some challenges we've had: • There are some missing advanced project management features like task dependencies, subtasks and more robust reporting. • Limited flexibility/customization: our workflow is complex (multiple phases, branching, conditional flows), Basecamp has felt restrictive at times. • Notifications are sometimes overwhelming with the amount of to-dos we input. Sometimes we miss or lose track of important alerts. • We have found issues with inconsistency between desktop app notifications and the web version. The desktop app works better for me. • No built-in time tracking, which would be nice given we have to submit timesheets.

We needed something that could house projects and project templates to save time in managing our high volume.

### "Simplify project management with Basecamp "

July 16, 2025

5.0

I use it to manage all my work and tasks and also encourage clients to use as well. It allows people to catch up quickly if not up to date, keeps everyone honest and efficient and provides a central place for all work-related activity.

Pros

It takes a less is more approach to features, is very intuitive (which helps when on-boarding new people) and the logic of grouped to-do lists with historical threads and asset uploads cannot be beat. I use it daily and have been for over 15 years.

Cons

Nothing comes to mind. I really enjoy the product and don’t have any complaints. They role out features slowly and clearly so you can adapt.

Reason for choosing Basecamp

Years ago we tried Monday and after a month realized we didn’t not like it. Mainly because it is so customizable and feature rich, it was actually frustrating. It did too much if that makes sense. We went back to Basecamp because it does all we want and does it really well. Less is more.

### "Excellent PM tool"

January 12, 2026

Basecamp is a fantastic project management hub for me as a freelancer. It keeps work moving and helps me stay on top of my work/schedule.

Pros

It keeps my freelance work organized and clutter-free. Everything lives in one place and the design is super intuitive.

Cons

There really isn’t much to dislike as a solo freelancer. Advanced task features like dependencies would be nice to have.

### "Basecamps Number One Fan"

April 10, 2026

I am so grateful for basecamp. It easily stores my files and helps with feedback between postings. I use it everyday. I love the search feature as well.

Pros

I love the organization of Basecamp. It is so easy to use, easy to learn and so very organized. I do not know how I would do my job as effectively without it. It allows for great teamwork and collaboration.

Cons

I do not have a negative thing to say about this program. It is so well run. If anything maybe more introduction videos to those who have never used it.

### "Basecamp - Creativity meets Productivity"

March 6, 2026

5.0

Our school uses it for all creative projects to match teams with our graphic designer. We can all comment, request changes, and modifications. Then, our head of school can approve all within the same location.

Pros

I love how different team members can all collaborate and work on the same project while giving real time feedback.

Cons

Sometimes, I wish administration would only see the finished project and didn't comment on each step along the way.

### "The Antidote to Chaotic Project Management"

September 6, 2025

5.0

In a world of overly complex project management tools, Basecamp stands apart with a radical philosophy: simplicity is a feature. It’s not just a tool; it's a opinionated system designed to reduce noise, improve clarity, and get everyone on the same page.

Pros

Basecamp’s greatest strength is its intuitive, clean, and opinionated interface. There’s almost no learning curve. New team members can jump in and be productive within minutes. It deliberately avoids complex Gantt charts, custom workflows, and confusing jargon. Basecamp has everything in one place and that is what makes it unique.

Cons

Basecamp is too opinionated for Some. Basecamp forces you to workits way. If your process doesn't fit neatly into its six-tool structure, you will feel constrained. There is very little ability to customize the platform to your specific needs.

It allows for discussing initiatives, assigning tasks, and tracking progress without unnecessary complexity.

Pros

It provides areas where I can make to-do lists as well as upload, save, and distribute files to other team members. That’s why I like Basecamp.

Cons

For me I feel like I should have the option to enable a summary of missed activities while I was away.

Pros

Basecamp is a great tool for communicating with customers and internal teams, sharing files, and keeping all project work in one place.

Pros

I like that with Basecamp, things feel less messy when you're working with others. In our team, we used to send a lot of emails, ping on chats, and forget where stuff was saved. It’s simple, doesn’t try to do too much, and that’s actually what makes it good.

Cons

I dislike that sometimes it feels a bit too simple. If you need advanced tracking or custom views, you kind of hit a wall. You work with what it gives, not how you want.
