### "Intuitive Project Management Software"

November 21, 2018

4.0

Basecamp has allowed my team the ability to stay on top of projects specifically their own responsibilities within the larger project. It's fairly easy to learn and new members catch on rather quickly.

Pros

The graphics/interface are user friendly and not intimidating. Most helpful is the To-Do list and the ability to incorporate the calendar in Basecamp to Google Calendar. There have been several updates over the past year or so which allow for more customized pings and message board posts.

Cons

The notification settings are not easily understood. I also think an administrator should be able to pin certain message board posts to the top of all of the message boards if they are important and deserve priority. As it stands now, whenever someone adds a new message all prior messages are moved down.

### "Use for work"

September 12, 2018

3.0

Experience was not bad. I would use it again if I had no other option. The website is good for what it is intended to do

Pros

Very user friendly. Nothing too complicated with where to find information. Simple look but efficient.

Cons

Not very friendly went trying to integrate email or features with txt. Would always need to go into the website to get anything done.

### "Best Tool for Team Collaboration"

August 21, 2020

4.0

Pros

As COVID-19 has drastically increased the online work culture and our company was facing issues initially in task assigment, task completion track and online collaborations. So, We started using Basecamp and it just reduced a lot of work for us by it project management and Cloud storage facility and one of the main factor we love in this is it's EASY OF USE.

Cons

As a small startup, the main issue we are facing is pricing. Since, It has only one plan to choose and as a small startup we don't need a lot of users in it. So there should be a plan for small startup needs and requirements.

Alternatives considered

[Workzone](https://www.capterra.com/p/18542/Workzone/)

Reason for choosing Basecamp

I have chosen Basecamp over Workzone because of pricing and customer's review.

### "BaseCamp use for Project Management and Collaboration "

April 7, 2018

5.0

We have just been loving this software. We only pay the lowest amount right now and it still gives us all the features!

Pros

Email notifications regarding project updates and recap emails are a great way to manage progress and see what colleagues are accomplishing. It's super easy to navigate and the interface allows less computer savvy co-workers to easily master it's different features.

Cons

We have just been loving this software. We only pay the lowest amount right now and it still gives us all the features!

### "A great collaboration tool"

February 18, 2020

5.0

We have been very happy with Basecamp as a team collaboration tool for many years now. We use it exclusively to keep projects on track and keep everyone in the loop. We highly recommend it to our clients and customers, too.

Pros

When features that needed to be added were suggested, it didn't take long for the Basecamp team to implement a solution. They listen to their customers needs.

Cons

I honestly cannot think of anything now that the recurring tasks feature has been added. That was the only 'missing link' when we first switched, but that has now been added and we are happy.

Reason for choosing Basecamp

Because of the built-in tools to easily see the tasks needed and who was assigned, and keeping documents used by the team organized.

### "Good but it depends on the version"

May 20, 2020

4.0

Basecamp Classic which is I guess version 1 is what we use the most but it looks very dated. It also has choices in very confusing places, even after using it for years a regular user can forget where things are. The calendar view is fantastic. Basecamp V3 looks better but lost a lot of the features we found the most useful including the calendar view. They still support both versions I think because people don't to move to the newer one. Their product roadmap seems to be chaotic or non-existent. All of that said it's still a great simple product that does what you want.

Pros

Ease of use, calendar view, very low price.

Cons

Vast differences between the versions and confusing feature differences.

### "Great collaborative system for small teams"

February 5, 2019

5.0

We are communicating and scheduling more often and getting out announcements in a unified place and platform.

Pros

We like how easy it is to on-board new team members to our online communication system. We also enjoy the variety of ways we can collaborate with scheduling.

Cons

We use this system very regularly and wish it could push notifications on smart phone.

### "Great for non-project manager types"

June 25, 2018

4.0

It allowed me to observe to what extent collaborators were contributing to the project and whether they were regularly engaged. It also was great to use projected onto a screen during meetings so we could discuss various project tasks, and everyone could follow along.

Pros

I like how people can easily review what other collaborators have done regarding any given project. I also like how communication is facilitated within the platform.

Cons

Sometimes you have to jump between windows/screens to manage a project. I also think it is two wordy and not visually driven enough for a good UX.

### "I am a businessman and investor and I am currently working on 6 different projects, among which "

May 6, 2018

5.0

Basecamp, which offers basic project management tools (task list, file sharing, etc.)

Pros

Before we started using Basecamp, we used several tools, but none left us totally satisfied. Some of these tools were very powerful, too versatile in fact in relation to the use that was had. The price-quality ratio of these tools did not correspond to a small company like ours. There were also many program options that were not used. We put the tool to a test and were seduced immediately.

Cons

Basecamp has fewer options than other tools, but the fact is that it is quick and very simple to use.

### "Best time/project management tool for the money!"

September 12, 2018

4.0

Basecamp helps myself and my team keep track of all ongoing projects and due dates. It offers an unparalleled environment for collaboration and document sharing. I remember when I first started the trial period, I set up my entire to do list..when the trial period was over, I was so lost and disorientated. This was when I knew I had to have it for our team.

Pros

It is easy to set up your organization and team to start managing your projects right away. You can set up access for users that are outside of your company as well. This is great if you work with a lot of contractors or outside consultants. Access can be very granular if you want it to be, for example, you can show or hide entire companies/organization, projects or teams by user and/or whichever company they are affiliated with.

Cons

At times, Basecamp can be slow at rolling out new features. With that being said, all the current features that are available works perfectly and is definitely helpful. Although they are slow, they make up for it by allowing integration with third party software and they already have more than a dozen affiliated companies that they integrate with.

### "Easy For Any Level of User"

July 17, 2019

Pros

This was a very intuitive piece of software. We had used Asana and Evernote, and this was easy to transition into from there.

Cons

We liked the layout and features of Asana better.

### "Used for years, but don't anymore"

February 4, 2019

4.0

Pros

Basecamp is very easy to use and was the ultimate project management platform for me for years. We would create projects and tasks very simply. It saved emails being lost and tasks overlooked. We used these for small projects and ongoing work. For teams and individuals.

Cons

Over time, most people switched to Trello and we found fewer companies wanted to use Basecamp with us. I resisted moving to Trello, but once it was part of our usual process we made the full switch to Trello. Basecamp is fine, but Trello was free.

### "Keeps us all on point"

April 22, 2019

4.0

We manage large arts-based projects where tens of people are working together. Basecamp gives us just that, a basecamp from which to operate and to store our stuff.

Pros

I have found Basecamp to be an easy to navigate software for keeping my participation in projects visible and archiveable. We have been using Basecamp for several years at the museum. For me it replaced a Dropbox and innumerable email chains that were just too unwieldy to be useful. Now our projects are all one stop shopping if you are looking for a file or wanting to make a comment. It is easy to add folks who come in mid-stream on a project, and we can include those that are outside of our organization. It is also always available so long as I have access to the internet - like when traveling.

Cons

We are getting some upgrades, so I think most of my complaints will soon go away. Being able to create folder structures and having easy archiveability are part of that.

### "User Friendly with Ease of Use"

September 20, 2019

4.0

My overall experience with Basecamp is quite good, its user friendly and makes the tasks more easier to handle.

Pros

I like Its user friendliness and quite impressed with its ease of use. Its UI is quite simple to be understood, and is easier to set it up and to share data amongst office colleagues.

Cons

This software is a bit expensive If you are using it as a starter company, as we are using the Flow Plan 1 currently, so sometimes it becomes a bit difficult to pay for its services when even its in not in much use

### "Solid collaboration tool"

July 30, 2018

4.0

Pros

One thing I like about Basecamp is that it's so easy to use that it doesn't really take much time for anyone to learn how to use it. The interface is clean and extremely user friendly. Another thing is the to-do feature. It's a great feature that allows me to see what needs to be done. I also like that notifications are sent through email when an update is made. The ability to also reply through email is great.

Cons

There aren't really much to dislike about Basecamp. The one issue I have is the inability to assign to-do to more than one person at a time.

### "Basecamp really helped me in my Team Management and Online Project Management"

November 5, 2018

4.0

I have been using Basecamp for two years+ now and I must say that it is very awesome!

Pros

Basecamp is very easy to use and has a user-friendly inter-phase. It's allows for easy navigation and makes it very easy to manage your customers' data effectively. It also makes teamwork very easy and I enjoy every aspect of that

Cons

It wasn't built for any specific industry, however anyone can still use it. The number of emails I get from Bascamp is also high by default, and I find it a bit spammy. However you can correct that by selecting your choices.

### "Simple tool that lacks basic task organization"

August 17, 2021

3.0

not great. It was chaotic and made things more difficult.

Pros

The interface was very beautiful. Their designers did a good job,

Cons

it lacked functionality such as task tags and organizing tasks based on priority rather than date. As well as creating subtasks, and creating private tasks for an individual user.

### "Perfect for managing team projects"."

January 23, 2021

4.0

Pros

I like using this software because working with it is very easy and it allows me to speak with my colleagues and clients in a very professional way. For starters, I can set the task status via email. It's a perfect way to share knowledge and work on new elements of all kinds and with everyone within the organization or a personal community. I really like the role of "Campfire". In one command, quickly delegate assignments and to-do lists to team members

Cons

For a beginner to navigate to various tasks using alerts or funds, Basecamp has a challenging training curve. Personally if I can do it to complete the percentage, so I can solve it precisely like my other employees.

Project management, adding tasks, team communication, check-ins, prompt notifications, boosts

Cons

I don't dislike anything, but it would be great if there would be an option to add team members to the already created group.

### "Basecamp is Good But Not Perfect"

August 7, 2019

4.0

Good but not perfect!

Pros

What I like most about Basecamp: the email updates when someone responds to a thread, the checklists, and it's easy to get started on.

Cons

My biggest pet peeve with Basecamp is the inability to tag someone in a comment! I don't know why they don't have this but it's been really challenging. One client also works in Teamwork and when comparing Teamwork and Basecamp, I appreciate how one allows me to tag. When multiple people are part of a task, it's important to be able to single someone out and not make them trod through all the comments.
