### "Task management made super easy"

February 27, 2024

5.0

With Basecamp we have been able to achieve an appointment scheduling system for the betterment our service delivery to our clients

Pros

Basecamp is a hit but not a miss. It is simplified, tailored and integrated into an organized easy to use platform. It's comprehensivity stands out for me that it has a range of functionalities that perfectly suit my task management needs. It's straightforward and unified dashboard allow me to keep track of all my clients appointments. Since it is a default communication platform in the salon we use it as a centralized place where we can share new hairstyles and brainstorm on how to achieve each one of it soo it allows for sharing of any file of any format especially pictures which is the most common in our setup. Getting every appointment on calendar helps with scheduling the appointment to make sure there are no double salon appointments on the same time or day

Cons

Honestly I love every bit of Basecamp and have nothing against it

### "Great for team collaboration with Project and task management"

October 27, 2020

4.0

Basecamp helped us really experience using our business processes and feel like we organized our assignments and process flows.

Pros

I understand that the application is really easy to use. This would need no more effort for somebody to work out where to build and delegate assignments and job lists if they were new to all of it.This provides us really easy to distribute papers and reports in some other division and to redirect the posts to our marketing staff. Basecamp definitely does its customers an outstanding job.Particularly for just how many options it eliminates, very cheap. Very clean minimum gui which leaves you behind and enables you to function. Very fast and trustworthy. The phone app is perfect too.

Cons

Because the applications, communications, schedules, file searching, etc. are still so used in far too many areas, it can be entirely disconnected and easily unorganized. You just ought to hold all this in a way that eliminates confusion. There's many ways inside Basecamp to connect, and so it's essential for you to have a reliable strategy. In any person activity, you should response on the whole project line, a community, or occasionally it is difficult to say where a comment is placed.

### "Manage your work flow with Basecamp"

February 6, 2021

4.0

We are happy and satisfied customers of base camp, which is helping us to manage our projects, no matter whether we are in the office or outside. Through this platform we all remain in loop with each other and each member always have the idea about what is going on for a particular project. Basecamp is very suitable application for those organizations who want to get rid of day by day excessive meeting, and especially if your team remains outside the office, then it is very suitable for remote working.

Pros

It has not only save our time that were spent it announcing the meeting and waiting for everyone to get-together and still, there would be a gap about guidance and carrying our discussions. But Basecamp has allowed us to perform all these essential duties at one platform and provides us a deep view about how much the task has been completed and when how is facing any issue in this way we provides them complete guidance our particular project.

Cons

I have found some lags in its features I do calculate the amount of time spent by each team member for task execution. Neither it has proper segmentation for various departments so that number of projects could be managed, no overview about the percentage of tasks completed within the week. So I have felt that it needed more modification.

### "Very easy to use but needs more scalable / powerful features"

August 2, 2022

4.0

For the price (99 dlls a month) for unlimited users and projects, Basecamp is probably the best project management tool for the money, but lacks more powerful tools that may annoy more experienced managers.

Pros

Very streamline project / document repository management tool. Can be use for small or big teams to coordinate documentation, meetings and simple tasks. Plus, its navigation is very simple to learn.

Cons

Lacks more powerful tracking tools and better document editing tools; copy-pasted content from a Word document doesn’t copy the formatting correctly, lack of multiple headings or ability to add tables to a document is pretty disappointing.

### "Other apps offer better"

The PR and marketing machine behind BaseCamp is only solidified by its advertising dollars spent...everywhere

Pros

It's inexpensive and oh-so-very basic but the marketing machine behind BaseCamp will tell you just how robust it is when it's really not

Cons

It never, ever lived up to what it stated it could do. It's all smoke and mirrors.

### "Basecamp Review"

June 26, 2021

5.0

Overall Basecamp is an online platform that is great for small teams at a fair budget. It has a free option to use to learn about the interface see if your team can work with it productively. We still use it on certain projects week after week.

Pros

Basecamp is good for small teams. Sharing files between teammates and passing around ideas. It makes file sharing fast again with a small group. Its interface is easy to set up understand and use even for beginners. The alerts are fast in email and help keep you updated as each project moves forward. Basecamp also reminds you when a project is a little behind helping you stay on task.

Cons

No proofing tools. Communication with teammates can be slow at times. Reports can be limited and lagging.

### "Nearly great but not quite"

July 16, 2018

3.0

We felt that the "all in one" nature of the software was great, but beyond our initial tests we found it lacking in adaptability to fitting into the way WE work, (it wants you to wholly adopt their approach and we felt that there was an internal resistance to that development style) - therefore we abandoned the platform and looked for alternatives.

Pros

For years we have been looking for an all in one project and task management system to use with our business. And BaseCamp is so nearly it, it has most of the features you'd expect but presents them in a different way to most other task tracking systems. On the positive side, it's easy to use, friendly to the eye and everything is where it should be. It has some nifty features that you can easily become over-reliant on that aren't present in other management software tools. One recent addition was the Hill Chart where you plot a task on an "planning hill" - in a really visual way. This is totally unique and works well, helping you quickly identify the progress of any given task. As a project manager, this is a very useful way of seeing where everything currently "is at"

Cons

Onto the Cons: For us, we found that the software was too verbose in its approach, it has a work log system where each user is expected to fill in a diary of what they have done today - sure, this can be switched off in the options, but the regularity of BaseCamp e-mailing you is far too high as a default. By default you're constantly managing e-mails from the system (which is precisely what is is meant to eliminate!) Once you disable these notifications, we felt that the software starts to lose its impact, our staff started to drift away from it over time and went back to other task tracking methods (such as trello) for different areas of the development. This caused us to reconsider the entire enterprise and look for alternatives, our team just couldn't seem to adopt the (very rigid) way that Basecamp wants you to work.

### "Basecamp facilitates coordination and communication in projects"

August 4, 2023

4.0

Basecamp has been an excellent tool for keeping track of everything that needs doing. Users can look through their tasks, add comments, and send alerts to the people in charge of the projects.

Pros

It's user-friendly, facilitates collaboration across geographic distances, lets you draft and share papers with your team, and features a clock to track attendance.

Cons

Basecamp remains competitive with other project management software options because it provides most of the features necessary to successfully oversee a project.

### "Basecamp is an online collaboration app.It is Very user friendly Project management software. "

November 8, 2017

One unique feature in Basecamp is Automatic Check-ins. Automatic Check-ins ask team members to essentially submit a short report answering a question, like "What are your priorities this week?" or "How many attendees have enrolled in the conference so far?" on a recurring basis that you (or the team lead) enters. The options are highly customizable, so you can ask the same question every Friday in the afternoon, or every Tuesday and Thursday at exactly 9:15 a.m.whatever you like. In addition to the display of cards for various team and project spaces, the Basecamp dashboard also has links to My Stuff: My Assignments, My Bookmarks, My Schedule, and so forth. I like that you can get to a consolidated list of My Stuff from the dashboard, but again, I'd rather be able to see it right then and there. A few customizable widgets would go a long way to making Basecamp's dashboard a more productive interface.

Pros

It has very simple interface so I can easky understand.Graphics of this software is too good.It is effective software to manage projects.Take less effort to setup this software.I like that Basecamp takes mere minutes to set up. On-screen tutorials walk you through the process with clear and concise pointers. During the setup, Basecamp suggests things you might need to add to your account, such as an upcoming event or project, as well as any documents or task lists associated with it.One unique feature in Basecamp is Automatic Check-ins. Automatic Check-ins ask team members to essentially submit a short report answering a question, like "What are your priorities this week?" or "How many attendees have enrolled in the conference so far?" on a recurring basis that you (or the team lead) enters. The options are highly customizable, so you can ask the same question every Friday in the afternoon, or every Tuesday and Thursday at exactly 9:15 a.m. whatever you like.

Cons

Basecamp offers several ways for people to collaborate with one another. Within each team or project are a message board, task list, schedule (for events), and place to upload shared files. While the message board helps for keeping track of ongoing notes and conversations about the overview of a project, you might also need to ask colleagues more pointed or more general questions that don't belong on the board for all to see. For that, there's Campfire, Basecamp's chat room.

### "Project Management app worth exploring"

September 26, 2022

5.0

Overall, our experience with Basecamp has been quite satisfactory. We're using it through our client's account because they asked us to sign-up. I can say that client-service provider allows things to be more transparent. It takes some getting used to, but we are currently able to track a lot of the tasks, and our client can feel like they are seeing the progress of the work without being bombarded by too much information. We can explore this in the future, but right now it is quite expensive for a team of less than 10.

Pros

I like how many tasks are organized neatly and easy to see. Notifications via "Hey" make tracking your tasks quite convenient.

Cons

Being too organized does make the discussion feel siloed. As compared to using Teams or Slack for discussion, each discussion goes into its own page, and can have a sense of disconnection with other tasks. It is quite expensive for small companies though. We've used Basecamp through our client.

### "Great Solution For Team Collaboration & Basic Project Management"

December 19, 2019

5.0

I've used Basecamp to manage development projects, marketing programs, product management, company calendars, and basic HR/company policy documentation for several years. I've always found it to be reliable and easy to use. I will continue to use it going forward.

Pros

Basecamp is incredibly intuitive and easy-to-use. New users can start using the system in a very short period of time. I love the ability to upload files to specific projects or teams and to organize them into folders and update them with new versions. I also really appreciate how Basecamp makes sharing news, messages, and schedules with members of the team. Basecamp is also very affordable, even for small teams.

Cons

I would like to see some additional project management features added. Specifically, project milestones and Gantt charts. A few of the features are not particularly useful, such as the Gaussian-looking completion chart.

Working in CGP packaging design basecamp makes it easy to manage numerous projects and see your "to-do" list. It's very beginner friendly

Pros

This software is probably the easiest project management software that I've ever used. I started from ground zero and knew nothing about project management. It only took me a matter of about 2 weeks and I was using it like a pro.

Cons

When creating projects and adding team members to that project you have to have some previous connection with them or they don't show up in your search.

### "Good software for building project management"

March 22, 2021

4.0

I mainly use it to collaborating on project with my team members which working on the other branches. We can communicate and work on the same task in real-time and making the project collaboration process very effective.

Pros

The feature and menu is perfectly placed in the software dashboard. I can easily find the tools that i need really fast and that has speed up my work progress. All my project and the progress can be tracked by the visual percentage thus make it more easier to know the project level of completion.

Cons

Basecamp tools for task management is somewhat lacking because there are no tools to managing a complex project that need many resources for the project. The software dashboard and overall design is too old and very unappealing compared to other software that has more modern looking software design.

### "The guaranteed way to simplify project management is using Basecamp."

January 14, 2023

Basecamp is a very reliable project management tool in our organization that helps us keep track of our projects and manage them. It allows us to monitor every progress of the projects and helps us store all our project files in a well organized space.

Pros

I like how secure Basecamp is. With its high-end security and privacy functions, it keeps all your data secure from any form of unauthorized access as well as providing high privacy levels to your information. It helps one have a very clear and transparent view of your projects by bringing all your project work and documentation into one centralized place which is easily accessible and has very easy to understand visualization options which include Gantt charts and graphs. I also love and enjoy the quality of user support that is available in Basecamp. Anytime you get stuck or you need help, the customer support team always comes through with professional assistance. It provides brilliant communication channels like instant messaging and collaboration that allows teams to discuss and work together on project management.

Cons

### "Amazing Project Management Tool"

June 6, 2018

5.0

Proper management of projects in my company. Upto date client reviews/feedbacks and more.

Pros

I am using Basecamp since 2014. One of my friend from Dubai introduced Basecamp to me. It's simple and ready to use. No puzzles to do settings. Simple team member invitation. Simple client invitation. Create project easy. Tagging teammate is an awesome feature. we can simply tag our teammate in comments, to-do items, team chat, personal chat etc same as we do on Facebook. We can appreciate someone for his/her response. Set reminders and a lot of other activities can be done. No billing issue. the unlimited number of team members and no limit of file storage. Easy interface. If I talk about the support, team basecamp is very supportive and active to help its customers. You need help? write on Basecamp's twitter account and get a response in very short time or simply go to the website and write them, they'll definitely write you back. Once my account got suspended because of less funds, I simply wrote an email to support@basecamp.com and got an instant reply from Sylvia Chong <support team> with positive response and activation of my account for next one month. They understand customers and help them back.

Cons

Ammm.... Truly I have nothing which I like least about the Basecamp. Yea, more features can be added. Like invoicing, proposals, lead management and few other services. Because we have to find other vendos for all these services. It's complex to manage multiple vendors. Oxibase Software is one in all. They have invoicing, lead management, proposals, payment collections, project management, HR all in one. So, I would suggest basecamp to include some more features in it so that we don't look for other softwares :)

### "My, well, base camp for client communications!"

May 6, 2021

5.0

I create an individual Basecamp project for each of my clients to handle communication, deadlines, and file-sharing. Basecamp is the only project management software I've found that really excels at being used in a client-facing manner. I can get clients set up within minutes without confusing or overwhelming them.

Pros

My use of Basecamp is unique in that I personally don't need project management software as much as a client communication interface, and Basecamp is perfect for that! My work requires me to implement deadlines for both my team and my clients, and Basecamp allows me to clearly communicate that entire timeline while keeping all files and communication in one place. It really is a perfect "home base"!

Cons

I'd love to be able to customize which projects we receive updates on! Instead of just choosing email updates or no email updates, it would be great to have a newsfeed of only starred projects or even the ability to designate and filter by role within a project. I also feel that the jump between Basecamp Personal and Basecamp Business is a bit too stark. I'd love to see, say, a Basecamp Entrepreneur option in between aimed at companies that don't need unlimited features and can't afford the $99 monthly price point. Basecamp 2's "10 projects for $20/month" package would be an ideal model!

### "Simple Project Management Tool"

November 27, 2022

4.0

Basecamp is a fantastic all-arounder for remote teams even though it isn't one of the top 5 project management tools. The Basecamp Personal plan is not entirely suitable for corporate use.For a fundamental understanding of how the software functions, you can use it as an extended free trial, but beyond that, it's too limited. Its also a fantastic deal all around. Compared to other project management tools, it offers at-least some more functionality

Pros

It is a comprehensive solution with strong add-ons that combine all the procedures and duties of our business.everything from project management to employee announcements, instruction, and practices.Alongside Basecamp, I managed several projects in a very organized way. It's nice that the plan is not calculated for each new user or project. Unlimited! With the amount of projects we have, it doesn't make sense to pay per project or per user (because we are a small company with many projects). Everything you need is included in one simple license, which is great.

Cons

It's nice to have a tab with all of the open Campfires so you can concentrate on the conversation in just one browser window.Additionally, it would be nice if time monitoring were a built-in feature rather than requiring users to pay for expensive add-ons.
