### "Basecamp will Keep you Going"

April 16, 2024

4.0

Overall a great competitor in the space and we would consider them again in the future.

Pros

It has a very user friendly interface, there is a mobile app to work alongside the web application. It has common features that are in parity with other services.

Cons

There is a lot of hidden costs that creep in and sometimes they didn't catch up to the features that should be offered.

### "Best for Task Management "

August 4, 2023

5.0

I am happy with the user interface and usage it's smooth to use

Pros

It is best to manage your project and communicate with your team even outside basecamp if you want to share with someone you can easily share it

Cons

The only drawback is you need to subscribe so that you can get notification and until someone adds you to the channel you cant view the project.

### "Keep Your Team Organised with Basecamp"

September 9, 2022

4.0

Basecamp has proved ideal for keeping track of complicated projects. In particular, the details required for evidence of testing and work progress. It's a simple interface and perhaps could be graphically more pleasing on the eye and perhaps could offer some improved analytics. However, there are plug-in options for third party apps. It's good value for a tight budget and when not wanting to overwhelm the team in terms of interface and menu options.

Pros

The ease at which you can create and project and start adding and assigning tasks. It is intuitive and requires little time to get the team going. At a base level, it makes for very transparent to-do lists for your team, and therefore improved accountability to get things done.

Cons

Graphically Basecamp could improve to catch up with some of its competitors. You have to be careful how much your team indulges in comments because important information can get lost.

### "tool allows you to have control over the different projects that are managed in the organization"

July 30, 2018

4.0

the program is very good to organize and follow up on the activities and tasks scheduled in one or several projects. In my opinion, it allows us to set the dates and update tasks or actions according to the dynamics that arise in the organization, it is in my opinion a stable program that generates confidence to the managers and supervisors.

Pros

This tool allows us to make real-time contact with those responsible for the different projects that are executed in the company. It also has a set of tools that facilitate the interaction of those involved through the users created in BASECAMP and through the TO-DO can achieve a meeting point by allowing: dates of compliance of tasks are fixed, the activity calendar is visualized by managers and collaborators, through the program documents of interest are sent and in real time supervisors they can verify the status of the activities, their level of compliance and their culmination dates, in addition, communication can be done in a personal or collective way, allowing to share ideas without people moving from their work station

Cons

For the execution and understanding of the program, certain skills of office automation and work management are required, essential skills to execute the properties of the tool, on the other hand it is necessary to have stable internet since the base of the communication comes from the network and without it the service is not stable, in addition certain updates to the program must be executed since of not being fed with the correct information it generates incorrect data on the work that is being done on the other hand the edition of the TO-DO or of the dates they have to be notified beforehand, otherwise you can not know how or what the modification was or if it was a document that was there before starting to execute the projects.

Pros

Easy to use, you have all in one place, your team, tasks and projects. You can assign and see when it’s compete. Plus you Can have the app in your phone.

Cons

I think Basecamp is nailing it until now, I haven’t found any problem using it. I’m happy on the way I can use it on my daily base.

### "Middle of the Road in Every Way"

December 20, 2020

4.0

You get what you pay for. A perfect, middle-of-the-road project tracking app for smaller (or cheaper) businesses.

Pros

Basecamp is a great tool for basic communication and project tracking--note that I didn't say project management. If your primary goal is to create tasks, assign them, and then have them checked off then this is the app for you. If you're looking for something more sophisticated or robust, this will be a disappointment.

Cons

While the tools they offer are constantly expanding, it's a slow and meandering process. Most of the tools are partially implemented, implemented in such a way that it's not comparable with competitors, or broken in their functionality. It's a glorified project description and checkbox system. Very polished in that particular aspect but rough around every other edge.

### "Basecamp is professional tool for project management. Get it, use it and achieve the best."

January 14, 2023

5.0

In our organization, Basecamp finds its use as a project management tool which helps us to visualize all our project works, work on projects more effectively and have a transparent understanding of our projects progress and performance.

Pros

One of the best thing that i like most about Basecamp is how simplified the product interface is. It has everything in it well organized making it straightforward for one to use it. It also helps keep all your projects and their related works well organized so that it can be easier and fast to manage them. It brings together and unifies all tools necessary for a better project management work into a single centralized place so as you don't have to keep on shifting from one product to another. It provides very useful team communication functions like instant messaging which makes it easier for teammates to share information more easily and work more collaboratively on projects so as to ensure the best outcomes.

Cons

I have been using Basecamp now for a while and i certainly say there is nothing i like least about it. All features are useful and easy to use.

### "Our go-to project management tool!"

June 25, 2023

5.0

Basecamp solves problems I didn't even know I had! It also keeps everyone accountable and well-informed in every aspect of our work. It's a massive game-changer.

Pros

Basecamp makes my life so much easier! From tracking projects to communicating deadlines and keeping all our most important documents and information in an easily accessible place, there's no way I could keep track of everything as efficiently and smoothly without it.

Cons

There's a significant learning curve with Basecamp, and that can intimidate those who haven't used project management tools or cause people to feel like they don't have time to figure it out.

### "Basecamp gives you a lot of bang for the buck"

May 18, 2022

5.0

Pros

Basecamp does almost everything we need to do, with the ability to use the APIs we've managed to extend Basecamp to work with our internal and some external systems. Every single project is tracked and managed via the app, our project hours are recorded against each project using the API and we can report on these for costings at any point. There are more competent project management software packages out there, but all of these charge per user and would be a lot more expensive.

Cons

There's a few small features missing, one of these is project management across multiple projects, we're not able to produce GANNT charts or assign people to projects with working hours to ensure the member of staff isn't overloaded. This is minor overall but would definitely be something great to have.

### "Basecamp Has Helped Us Organize the Chaos "

March 31, 2020

5.0

Our marketing team was the first to implement Basecamp, and, eventually, the benefits to project management were so evident that most of our company uses the platform—from R&D to technical support. The application is quite intuitive, requires very little training for use, and offers multiple ways to communicate: private messaging, group chat, and message boards. The integration Basecamp offers with Google is also seamless. Tip: Once your teams are established, setting communication expectations for each tool is a necessary step to achieving a high efficiency.

Pros

The integrations that Basecamp provides make communication for cross-departmental projects quick and effective. The integration we use the most is the support of Google Docs, Google Sheets, and Google Calendar. Within Google Drive, the folder system makes it often difficult to find documents, but Basecamp allows not only Google Docs and Google Sheets to be linked to, but conversations about that specific document to take place in one place. This makes it easy to hand off documents and files to another department, route items to our publication team, or to request feedback from partners. As an original user from Basecamp 1, there have been so many improvements to the second and third editions. Basecamp certainly does an excellent job listening to its users.

Cons

The only change in version 3 that I am disappointed with is the elimination of the built-in calendar. What used to be "Events" with an interactive project calendar became the "Schedule." The Events interactive project calendar functioned a lot like a Google Calendar, which allowed someone to see all touch points on the calendar itself. The "Schedule" is mostly a list of upcoming events. However, the benefits of the folder systems, the access to resources, and the task assignments outweighs this issue. Plus, if you are a new user to Basecamp 3, you won't even be aware that anything is missing.

### "Basecamp is a great all-in-one tool for project and team management. It has everything I need."

June 27, 2018

5.0

It saves time and effort in managing a team. There is no need for separate apps for things like task tracking, scheduling, automatic reminders, and the like. Basecamp is an all-in-one project management tool.

Pros

I liked that Basecamp had everything I might need from a project management software and more. It featured team chat, direct messages, forum-like posting and tracking of tasks, a calendar to set deadlines and schedules, a to-do list, you name it. Basecamp even features its own file server where I can attach and store your company's important files right on the app. No need for an external file hosting server, which would be an additional cost for the company. Having separate areas (or "basecamps" as the app calls it) for different projects makes management less confusing and more straightforward. I can even assign tasks directly to people and set deadlines for them. Team members can know exactly what I need them to do and when they needed to be done. The iOS, Android, and desktop/Mac apps all integrate seamlessly as well. All the user interfaces of all apps are quite user-friendly; I did not have to hunt around for buttons and links that I frequently used.

Cons

There was nothing I disliked about Basecamp, to be quite honest. It was the best project management app I have ever used to date. Though I have no idea about its customer support, since I was not responsible for calling in any support issues. Also I have no idea if the pricing is good enough or too high. I was not the one who purchased this software for the team. Those may be possible things not to like, but I cannot say with certainty.

### "Basecamp- An easy way for effective Planning Management and collaborative teamwork."

July 28, 2023

4.0

I receive regular updates and information from seniors about our project, which allows me to easily communicate with them by using Basecamp, which aids us in project management, task management, and instant messaging. Basecamp expertly tackles project management and team collaboration issues. Having a central program simplifies communication.

Pros

The nicest thing about Basecamp is that it has a comprehensive collection of functions that cover the entire project management lifecycle. From job management and scheduling to file sharing and team communication, the program provides a central center for groups to efficiently collaborate. The ability to build to-do lists, assign duties, and establish deadlines helps groups stay structured, while the real-time messaging and commenting features support effective communication and decision-making.

Cons

There isn't anything I dislike about Basecamp; nevertheless, I believe they should focus on lowering their membership rates so that everyone can use it.

### "All the good times with Basecamp. "

November 15, 2023

Basecamp has been nourishing our work management by giving us a common and collaborative online workspace where we come together to work on remote projects. It keeps us always connected despite our difference in physical locations.

Pros

The way Basecamp allows us to arrange and keep our remote work organized is such a big achievement for us. It helped us understand that we don't have to be in the same office room setup to get our work done by allowing us to do all the work through a collaborative digital workspace which keeps communication and information sharing flow normally.

Cons

The experience Basecamp has given us so far has been unchallenging and there are no cons.

### "Improve project management effectiveness"

February 3, 2021

5.0

What i have realize with Basecamp is, we have improve the way my team communicate. We have ditch from using email or other messenger application, and mainly using Basecamp as our communication platform. It is effective because we can quickly pinpoint the subject of our discussion and attaching document to it.

Pros

Tracking for a project progress by team members and keeping a quick communication contact with my colleague is easy to do with Basecamp. Its workflow method to managing many project that are running at the same time is flawless. Separating each team members roles and their responsibilities towards the project only need a single click.

Cons

The feature tools name is quite funny, they use term 'campfire' to indicate messenger board where people gathering for discussion. There are some integration that are not well connected, my integration with google calendar is choppy and some of my calendar event is not properly exported to Basecamp calendar.

### "Unser täglicher Begleiter für effizientes Teammanagement"

November 16, 2023

5.0

### "Working with client using Basecamp"

Pros

Basecamp is very useful when i running a project that are involving client in to track the progress and process of the project directly. The message board is very useful that acted as a memo board for any update from company for mass distribution.

Cons

### "Collaborate and order your teamwork "

June 11, 2022

5.0

Basecamp is an interactive and practical platform for remote work, I like it because you can organize everything in one place, I can create chat groups and thus have a more orderly communication with my team, the interface is simple and its dashboard is intuitive, you can order the To-Dos, message board in one place.

Pros

What I like about using Basecamp is the ability to see who is responsible for what tasks, as well as their due date and current status. It is a wonderful resource for project cooperation and responsibility management and is an ideal tool for project management for organizations of any size. Access to every aspect of a project is vital for our company, since we are continually seeking to improve how we manage projects and interact. The variety of templates and the option to collaborate with others are two of my favorite features. When one user edits a sheet, the other user who is logged in can access the updated version, It is easy to add collaborators and view who else is on the sheet simultaneously.

Cons

It lacks better integration with Excel to generate better results.

### "Most effective PM software out there."

September 14, 2020

5.0

I love that they now have a free tier for bootstrappers with 1-3 clients or project that can scale up much in the way that MailChimp allows you to with email marketing. This is a huge plus to get more people started on the platform.

Pros

This is the most thoughtful project and team management software out there, hands down. Our team has replaced Slack and email project communication with one program. It is truly a different way of thinking about not only project management, but customer and team communication. Slack for us had become more of a distraction than a help. This solved that problem. This uses a bulletin board approach as opposed to an interruption approach like Slack. This type of PM requires trust and confidence in your team, which is rare in today's workforce.

Cons

This is not a con for our small company of less than ten people, but I could see the software not making sense to people who are used to the instant communication of an app like Slack. The pros could be the cons for some companies who are not ready to shift their thinking around project management, employee comms and distractions.

### "The hub for all great quality projects"

November 22, 2019

5.0

Our experience with Basecamp has been very positive. It has been a greatly important tool for the management of efficient and timely projects. The features within Basecamp have been positively used by the vast majority of our clients and create a really collaborative and team-like feel around the projects.

Pros

The best thing about Basecamp is that it provides a secure and easily accessible central hub for your project. It is easy to invite all key project stakeholders and has features that allow for quick and easy discussion around the project, easy communications of important notices and action points and acts as a central storage place that gives everyone oversight to essential project documents and files. Basecamp also provides an accurate project timeline based around the actions of the individuals who use it, meaning that assists with project traceability and track. In addition it will also send automated reminders to the inboxes of those registered which is a fantastic feature for keeping on top of all project details. These reminder emails can be customised to specific individuals which means you can easily reach/remind/engage with the action point owner.

Cons

The main frustration with Basecamp is the updating of personnel profiles when the original creator has left the company. For example, I have needed to update the job titles and email addresses associated with people for accounts I have inherited after my predecessor has left the company. However, this action is blocked as I was not the original creator which was highly frustrating.

### "Feature Rich and Effective for Project Management"

January 25, 2021

5.0

I signed up for Basecamp to work within a client's Basecamp processes, and now I use it to manage most everything that I work on in collaboration with others. It makes a lot of sense and is intuitive once you accustom to how the projects and to-do lists work.

Pros

The ability to add clients to a project and hide them from information within the project is SO handy. We use that feature a lot for internal to-dos and managing the client without them seeing behind-the-scenes.

Cons

To-do lists are pretty basic. You can assign to a person and add a date, but if you are used to feature-rich todo lists (embedded images, color coding, sub-checklists in a to-do, etc) then you will be disappointed. And although I find the "me" tab easy and intuitive, when we add new members to a project they almost universally struggle in the first weeks to really use Basecamp to its highest functionality.

### "Great software that fit our needs"

June 2, 2022

5.0

It has been a great help for our administration department for a better collaboration with other department.

Pros

We've been able to do a significant amount using the APIs we've developed to integrate Basecamp with our disparate systems. There's an app for everything, and every task has its API so that we can monitor and manage our work for expense purposes at any time. It's possible to get a more capable project management tool, but it would cost a lot more for each person.

Cons

I'm in desperate need of a better tool to help me manage and complete my increasingly tricky assignments. Additionally, there aren't many possibilities for applications that can be integrated with this program. Large groups will find the Business Plan's price to be quite reasonable. A paid plan for individuals would be highly beneficial if available at an accessible price point.

### "We love Basecamp"

October 4, 2022

My boss, VP of Real Estate, Loves Basecamp! It is a project managers life saver. Keeps the projects and the team updated and informed as the project moves forward. A template is established, project entered with assignments and dates and we begin.

Pros

Basecamp is like a giant notebook full of all the notes and comments that many team members need to share and keep track of. It is easy to use and has many features that support daily operations. It has been extremely helpful during our remote work period.

Cons

The only dislike is when there is an upgrade. For example from Basecamp Two to Basecamp Three, the information stored on one does not transfer to the other.

### "Organizational Tool - but not export or import friendly"

July 16, 2019

4.0

Overall, Basecamp is a good solution easy to manage but its inability to export into different formats, which its competitors do provide, might cause most of their users to switch to another platform, like us. Apart from the issue highlighted above, I think basecamp is a great tool to add, update, notify and manage any task, be it tech-related or sales related. As I have been through technical support, sales and then e-commerce sales of my company I think this tool would be very handy.

Pros

It is easy to enter, search and assign tasks in this online tool. As an E-Commerce Manager, I find it easy to enter our online order information, keep track of them with due dates, assign tasks to my team members and update our higher management on the goals and their progress.

Cons

The Export feature of this online tool is the worst!! I have tried contacting their support about exporting my tasks to excel or CSV format and they informed me that they do not have that option. We receive over 200 to 600 + orders a month which we have to keep track of, this helps us do that, but when our account manager asks me to get him details of orders then my life goes to hell. It takes me 2-4 days to extract all the data and organize it and send it to our accounts manager. This is the RED Flag for me for this software, I have my team looking at other options to switch to, however, if they do incorporate it, I have no problem sticking to Basecamp. Another thing I would like to point out, which is not a red flag or an issue but in the last month we had basecamp service unavailable or crash twice. Since it is a company solution, we are using, and I have been using it for the past 3 years, I never had seen this issue, maybe an upgrade in their services or some other bug is causing this but it did happen. Hope it does not happen again as it will affect our work seriously.

### "Without doubt, Basecamp is an ultimate project management product "

November 7, 2022

5.0

I use Basecamp for project management. It offers the best project management services that helps keep your projects on the tabs to ensure they are progressing well and they are completed within the proposed timelines.

Pros

One of the very best thing about Basecamp is its ease of use. Its user-friendly interface helps make project management an easy task despite it be quite a difficult one. Another thing i like about Basecamp is how it easily integrates with others products like Zoho Flow and more others meaning you don't have to change your working environment. It has an easy to customize architecture which makes it easy to set it up in a way that it perfectly matches with what you need. It brings everything about projects into a single central place making it easy and convenient to manage your projects including tracking their progress.

Cons

There is no bit in Basecamp that i feel is missing. Everything that one need to achieve the best project management experience is already included.
