### "Why use Basecamp?"

August 8, 2022

5.0

Basecamp is a perfect software for team works, projects, and also for strengthening relationships with our colleagues especially through online.

Pros

Basecamp is a beginner-friendly software. It is very easy and accessible to use for beginners and also it has a complete feature that an employer/employee needs for work.

Cons

So far, all the features that I needed for work can be found here in Basecamp.

### "Still don't understand its full capacity"

June 11, 2022

5.0

Basecamp is an amazing tool for remote workers. It helps us to plan and be agile. I love the fact that I can see what everyone is working on and it keeps me organized. I can easily create to-do lists, track deadlines, and communicate with my team. The interface is user-friendly and I hate the email notifications feature as of now. Need to see if I can stop it. Also, even though I never directly interacted my manages says the customer service is amazing.

Pros

Basecamp is a project and task management tool for remote workers, which is great, because I'm a remote worker. It is not so easy to use but helps keep my professional tasks organized. I am still not used to it, but I am sure that with time I will get the hang of it. I think it would be great for people who are used to working with remote teams and need a way to keep track of what everyone is doing. I love that Basecamp keeps all of my project information in one place. I don't have to worry about losing track of what's going on. I also really appreciate the ability to comment on specific tasks. This helps me keep track of what everyone in my team is working on.

Cons

It has a lot of features that I am yet to explore and maybe this is just for me but Basecamp sends me around hundred emails everyday. Not Cool.

### "Basecamp is good for Project Management and Collaboration."

September 7, 2022

4.0

The overall experience is very good as it is user friendly and easy to use. Tracking the progress is easy which saves time and effort.

Pros

Basecamp is very userfriendly and easy to use. Creating teams and projects is easy and assigning the task is also not so tough. The best thing is being able to track the progress.

Cons

I have been using Basecamp every day for the last two plus years and the only thing that I don't like is the sluggish performance from time to time.

### "Basecamp"

September 25, 2023

4.0

### "Inexpensive and Great for Work Place Chat"

November 4, 2021

5.0

Great workplace chat app that allows you to not waste away your phone inbox or text messages.

Pros

I like 1, that it is inexpensive. It is hard to find a software that doesn't break the budget and actually does the job of being able to work for the entire team. No company wants to depend on blowing up the team members text messages because that is unprofessional to a sense. It has worked wonders for us, even the older coworkers, that are not very tech savvy.

Cons

Really poor management of starting chats or forums for non-admin roles. Someone always comes up to me asking how they were not able to start a new chat group or something along the same lines in the Basecamp mobile app. This is an ongoing issue that at the very least needs to be made easier to find or do.

### "Loving the ease of use and interface"

December 12, 2021

5.0

Base Camp is the support place for all of my clients so when we aren’t on a call they know they can head to Base Camp and get additional support from me and my team. I love it!

Pros

I started using basecamp as a client and fell in love with how easy it is to use and the interface. It is very straight forward and keeps everything super organized, which I love.

Cons

I haven’t found anything I don’t like. I’ve tested at least 1/2 dozen other softwares and this one wins for me!

### "Basic functionality, hasn't kept pace with competitors"

May 19, 2021

5.0

Basecamp has been the foundation of our company's project management and communication systems for the past 9 years, but we're starting to feel like we've outgrown it. Those frustrations combined with the recent leadership missteps have us shopping for an alternative.

Pros

Basecamp is an extremely accessible, cost-effective task management system for simple projects and teams. It's easy to invite people to specific projects without adding to the cost.

Cons

Having to use third-party tools for basic functionality, such as kanban boards and time/points tracking. Lack of common milestone tracking, such Gantt charts.

### "One more alternative"

July 26, 2021

4.0

It's an 7 out of 10 as a project and task manager. It is not bad, but I don't think their efforts have been well directed.

Pros

It has many options and one of their best functionalities is that they managed to include some features of a social network, have a great message board, can chat individually or on groups, files sharing and even check-ins.

Cons

It is limited to its specialty and don't have any exceptional feature, so it is hard for me that Basecamp just stand out from its competitors.

### "Good For Collaboration And Monitoring Progress. But Not Enough For Project Management."

September 29, 2020

4.0

I love Basecamp. Though again, it could easily become complicated once you need to handle multiple ongoing projects. I'm not aware if you could change the theme for each project. But so far from what I see, you can only use one theme which could allow you to get confused when jumping from one project to another.

Pros

I used Basecamp for one of my projects with a client. And based on my experience, it's quite easy to use -- as long as the project you're doing has clearly defined milestones and deliverables. What I love about most about Basecamp is the ability to communicate and have ongoing conversations with people who are involved in the project. It also allows you to chat, make announcements, tag people, and monitor the upcoming events on a calendar. I also love the "alert" feature where you'll get alerted once a project is close to its deadline.

Cons

Despite being easy to use, Basecamp could become really complicated to manage once you're managing multiple projects with different milestones, deliverables, and deadlines. It can easily eat up all your time just handling all your notifications and adjusting the status of each project. And if you're not focused, you can easily get confused. Besides that, Basecamp is not really applicable for more complex needs for Project Management.

### "Make It more Obvious"

December 27, 2020

3.0

As I said, it is the first platform we have had that engages everyone, so high praise for that! I need it to be consistently easy and straightforward to use across all platforms before I fall in love with it!

Pros

It looks simple and well laid out. The follow-up and response process is a click and report format. The follow up from colleagues is simple to track. This is true because we use it all the time and responses are very immediate, which indicates to me we all get this app. We are on three basic sites in our company and this is the first app of this type that actually works to engage us all.

Cons

My basic beef with this app is the way it behaves differently with the three forms of equipment we use, mobile, Apple and Windows. How many ways can you sign in, respond and communicate?! Using an Apple device is simple(as ever)and works the best. A non Apple mobile device is not as 'intuitive' (I hate that word within the context of tech, too much assumption)and responding from a device driven by Windows, especially from an email requires a sign-in, which is a step too many. Also, any emoji additions will depend on the path you choose to respond from if you respond from the email by connecting to Basecamp that way. Please work on making the App do the same thing from whatever platform you are using.

### "We love Basecamp!"

December 16, 2021

5.0

We use Basecamp for internal team communication and project management. It has eliminated the need for our team to use multiple platforms and enables us to work asynchronously, which is great since we're all working remotely.

Pros

We use Basecamp as a simple project management tool. We like that we can use it how we need to. We moved from TeamWork, which had a lot of bells and whistles, but wasn't getting very good use from our team. Everyone uses and loves Basecamp because of its simplicity.

Cons

My main complaint has recently been addressed! Previously, there wasn't an option to create a recurring to-do, but now there is!

### "Basecamp: Awesome Project Management Software!"

December 6, 2022

5.0

My overall experience with Basecamp has been enjoyable. It allows dynamic creative project management, remote work, and task management capabilities and has been deployed since day one.

Pros

The features most impactful are Basecamp's collaboration options and settings. The product is easy to use and features an intuitive interface with breadth and depth of adaptable customization. Integration with existing business processes was easy.

Cons

There are no features I feel are missing, nor needing improvement, nor are there any aspects of the product that are difficult to use. Integration with existing business processes is not cumbersome, difficult, or lengthy. Basecamp makes project management simplified and stress-free. I highly recommend this product!

Pros

I liked the overall design and functionality. It worked without getting in your way and if it works for you I think it really works and does what it does well.

### "The Master Task Planner "

November 13, 2023

5.0

How we work has been significantly altered by Basecamp. Previously, we relied on a single team member for leadership, which put a strain on her and limited the team's ability to know what was happening with each project at all times. We can now create projects in Basecamp.

Pros

I adore how effectively and consistently you can communicate with other team members. You can quickly and easily see at a glance the interactions and work that have been allocated, worked on, and finished thanks to the activity log.

Cons

Even while it works well, it might not be sufficient for complicated projects. Although the software's dashboard design is practical, it somewhat clashes with the more contemporary interface. Customer communication via the messaging board is problematic because it freezes and makes it difficult for users to send messages quickly, which wastes time and makes it difficult for users to submit messages correctly.

### "A very promising project management software"

November 18, 2022

5.0

We have only been trying the software, and so far, we found that Basecamp was the most intuitive and user-friendly one. We were able to use Basecamp immediately after signing up without having any difficulty, and we are now considering using the software for our everyday operations.

Pros

You don't have to be fluent in programming languages or have any technical expertise to use Basecamp : Basecamp is easy to learn and use.Basecamp offers many integrations with third-party software solutions, including Slack, Dropbox, and MailChimp. There's also an API that allows developers to build custom integrations with their own software solutions or their clients' apps. These integrations increase productivity and reduce the manual data entry required by team members when using project management software.Basecamp integrates with other applications through IFTTT (or "If This Then That") recipes—a collection of applets you can use to connect Basecamp to other platforms such as Gmail or Facebook Messenger so it can post notifications there automatically in response to events happening inside Basecamp itself (such as assigning tasks).Basecamp combines all the tools you need for project management into one easy-to-use platform with an excellent interface. With its latest major release, Basecamp has integrated a lot of new features into its platform but also kept the core functionality that made them popular in the first place. The best thing about Basecamp is that it's very easy to use and intuitive.

Cons

It has minor flaws, like missing tags, but if you're looking for a simple, easy-to-use solution that allows you to manage all of your projects, Basecamp is definitely worth checking out.

### "Basecamp, a handy Project Management Tool suitable for small to medium organizations."

September 15, 2023

5.0

Basecamp helped make it easier for the organisation to keep track of all of its projects, save documents and files related to those projects, and send task notifications to all members at the appointed times, keeping everyone updated on the projects' current status. Important documents, conversations about the projects, and schedules for completing tasks are all safely and effectively managed on Basecamp.

Pros

On Basecamp, my company messages, task schedules, crucial documents, and conversations pertaining to projects and tasks are secure and well-managed.

Cons

Although they continue to reinvent project management with new, simpler ideas like the Hill Chart, there are no built-in Gannt views.

### "Tap into the magic of Basecamp and experience superiority in project work. "

November 9, 2023

5.0

The reason we are consistently using Basecamp to manage our project work and based on the results we get after using it. We have had a very productive experience with Basecamp and it has allowed to keep everything about our projects flowing toward the right direction. Better and greater project work results has been our daily dose thanks to Basecamp.

Pros

Basecamp has won the award of the most important product when it comes to our project work. It gives us a well refined workspace where we can collaboratively work on our projects which allows not to leave any stone unturned. Basecamp dashboards gives us clear visuals on our work progress and this is important to ensure we have things being done according to the available plan. Managing our work like planning, monitoring and controlling how things are being done has been our big achievement since Basecamp became part of us.

Cons

### "Basecamp is a great project management tool, especially for a collaborative, visual endeavor"

February 8, 2022

5.0

Overall, I really like Basecamp, and think that it's great for smaller project management or larger, visual and collaborative projects.

Pros

I most enjoyed the clean, visual way that Basecamp documented the development of each major art asset or asset bundle. It made it possible to easily give inline feedback, and later see how well and how quickly assets were finalized.

Cons

At least when we were setting up the project, there were certain plug-ins and features that were either missing or more powerful in Jira. This meant that we used two tools for the project: Basecamp for Art/Art Assets and Jira for engineering tasks and bugs.

### "Easy to use Project management Tool"

April 22, 2021

5.0

This is the tool used at my workplace, it was very easy for me to learn to use and maintain files and project history.

Pros

Easy to use and navigate for communications with internal and external purposes. Task management is user friendly. I like the main folder associated to a project instead of documents buried in tasks. Easy to share files.

Cons

I can’t figure out how to effectively include clients in a task. I end up including my clients as team member and creating two separate projects in Basecamp for the same project — one for internal and one for clients — because I can’t figure out how to invite clients into the main task and still contain access to certain aspects — for example I don’t want my clients seeing internal conversations within the task, or proofs that I want to review and provide feedback on before it is seen by client.

### "Basecamp is an Extremely Intuitive and Effective for Project Management System for Advertisers "

November 7, 2018

5.0

Overall, I loved Basecamp. I already miss using this software and will have a difficult time converting to another software. Even though a new software might be more robust, this project management tool was sleek, well designed and extremely intuitive.

Pros

I've recently moved from using Basecamp and have now started to use Workfront as my main project management system and I sincerely miss Basecamp. Basecamp was incredibly intuitive, well designed and functioned extremely efficiently for our creative team's needs. My favorite part of the software was the user interface. The overall design of the site makes it incredibly easy to see your list of projects and the status of each project. It's also excels in communication. We often would use Basecamp for internal communication and replaced things like Slack and Outlook emails with Basecamp "camp fires". It's a wonderful tool to keep your projects organized, concise, and keep your team involved in an efficient and effective process.

Cons

Basecamp lacks the financial depth that our advertising agency requires. Even though I've loved the software it doesn't do a great job of financial tracking, estimating and spending. We also found that the calendar view even in Basecamp 3, was not quite up to par. It would be ideal if this site could show you a calendar at a glance or a specific person's daily calendar. It's especially pertinent to be able to a designer's daily task list or calendar to ensure that the designer has the capacity for additional projects.

### ""Tons of emails!""

March 18, 2021

3.0

I would definitely use this tool for the next few years or so as it helped shed some light on my tasks. With basecamp, I can rapidly collaborate with my clients and I like that it's fast and not lagging. Updates are real-time and I can easily track my progress throughout the day. Hopefully, the emails get fewer. It's just terrible most of the time.

Pros

As a VA freelancer, I am overloaded with tasks every day on my plate. Good thing basecamp happened because its UI is so simple for a first-timer and I can easily navigate the tool and its nooks and crannies. The features, especially Campfire and Shared Files/ Docs, have been very helpful as I have to communicate daily to my clients and it's crucial that they see the amount of work that I've done every day for their ease.

Cons

I can't thread comments. I get lost every time I track my clients' instructions about some tasks needed for the day. Also, there are too many emails in my inbox, it's a burden already because it results in overlooking the most important ones.
