### "Can't imagine my day without Basecamp! Great tool for Project Management & Collaboration."

April 13, 2021

5.0

It's amazing. It was a hell lot of spreadsheets we were dealing with and even then we were not organized and facing issues like Collaboration, Productivity and Revenue Leakage. Basecamp is just one solution to everything.

Pros

Extremely Simple & Intuitive User Interface with many features to make your life easy in terms of Collaboration & Project Management Cost-Effective Best in Class Support

Cons

Nothing as Such as everything that we need is either already present or is seen into upcoming releases. But would love if Basecamp does some periodic webinars to explain the best practices and future releases.

Reason for choosing Basecamp

We'd seen many Project Management tools to be honest most of them we find so cumbersome. It was going to be a new challenge (along with the existing ones) to learn the platform. But, with Basecamp we find a kind of minimal training solution and the beautiful part, it was up and running kind of within an hour. Plus the extraordinary support to help in configuring the tool.

### "The always go-to product for project management "

November 5, 2022

5.0

Basecamp is a go-to product for project management. With a shared workspace for teammates, it makes it easy for teams to store, share, discuss and work more conveniently on files. Also it helps streamline the entire project lifecycle giving clear visibility of how projects are progressing.

Pros

Basecamp is a very simple project management tool with advanced functionalities that helps simplify the complicated project management tasks. Its simplicity comes in both the user interface design as well as its usability. It makes it easy to keep track and monitor the progress of your projects so as to ensure the completion deadline times set are met. It gives a clear visibility of the entire project lifetime from the beginning to the end . The group chatting function makes it easy for work colleagues to communicate more easily and fast during projects.

Cons

I have used Basecamp for a while now and i have no complaints to make about it.

### "Easy, Affordable Project Management for Your Entire Team"

August 16, 2019

4.0

Since we started using Basecamp, our project intake process has become much more organized and it's way easier to see what everyone has on their plate. It's also helped us get approval from key stakeholders since everyone at every step of every project has to-dos assigned to them. I also love the integrations. We sync with Everhour so we can keep track of exactly how long it takes to complete each step of each project, which has helped us become more efficient and also see where we're spending our time.

Pros

I love how intuitive Basecamp is to use and how easy it is to keep track of upcoming projects and set priorities. I'm new to project management and it's been so easy to set up every project and teach new employees how to navigate the system. You can set different projects for different teams and even invite clients to view projects. Plus, you don't have a limited number of seats so everyone in our organization can access it without us needing to purchase anything additional.

Cons

There are too many places to communicate within Basecamp so it's important that you have a clear process. You can comment on an overall project thread, a group and in each individual to-do so sometimes it's hard to tell where a comment is located. However, it does show you which to-dos have comments within them and there are easy-access notifications at the top of your screen at all times so as long as comments are recent, they're easy to find.

Reason for choosing Basecamp

We did free trials of each option and Basecamp was the easiest to use and the most intuitive. We were all comfortable using it and thought it would be the best option for us as the company grew since we could add people to the team easily.

### "Team collaboration for projects"

May 25, 2021

4.0

A solid piece of project collaboration software especially for digital marketing projects.

Pros

When it comes to collaborating, base camp is very strong. Commenting tracking tasks and files all very straight forward.

Cons

They have a number of different versions from classic diversion 2 diversion 3 and depending on the company you work with you'll be locked in to one of these versions. Obviously the new versions are much superior so hopefully you don't get locked into 1 of the old versions. I wish they would force a migration of the old versions to the new.

### "A fun project tracking system"

March 11, 2022

4.0

We are redesigning a website and using Basecamp to assign tasks to various team members. This is helpful in keeping us all on the same page and understanding where we are in the buildout. We also use it to keep all of our reference materials in one place rather than having to seek and find them each time.

Pros

We can track several projects a time and have teams that are specific to projects. This allows us to work with collaborators outside of our department.

Cons

The set up, while fairly simple, is the worst part of most project management softwares that we have tried. To use all of the features of Basecamp, it really requires having a dedicated project manager on staff, which we do not.

### "Can't Imagine Work Without It"

November 11, 2020

5.0

Been using Basecamp for years after trying several other different types of software for task management and collaboration. My business relies on Basecamp to stay the course and be efficient.

Pros

Basecamp's user interface is easy on the eyes and simple to use on desktop and mobile. The ability to create individual projects with unique team members is real helpful, and the ability to assign work with due dates. Including people on communications is flexible for the company and the team. Ability to manage notification preferences lets you see what you need to see and not be distracted by unwanted noise.

Cons

There is no one way to do things in Basecamp. You design to workflow and structure of projects and collaboration. This can be difficult for some people who rely on the system to determine how to organize things. With Basecamp, it's up to you.

### "Best project tracking and management tool"

August 25, 2022

4.0

The overall experience of Basecamp was great as it is very easy to use and more flexible than the other software and just con of it is that it could include more features for free so that students can also use it for small projects and all.

Pros

it is helpful in creating and managing the tasks and projects in today's world. It is easy to use and user-friendly software I have ever used. It doesn't require any prior knowledge to set it up.

Cons

it could have been great with various tools like the Gantt chart and many more and sometimes it could be hard for students to invest in such expensive tools.

### "Great and easy software"

Great, easy to use product that can be extremely useful to your team.

Pros

Easy to use program and great tool to use within our team. It is very clear and the notifications have been a lifesaver.

Cons

Not much I don't like about this program. I guess the UX could be a little more updated, seems a little dated, but the overall function is great. Our team really values it.

### "Good with task collaboration and management"

August 9, 2021

5.0

My overall experience with Basecamp is really good. I manage to organized my team task and delegate it easily to the team members.

Pros

Basecamp has a good tools and feature that are very effective in managing my task and the process to collaborating the task with my team members is pretty easy to manage. I can delegate the task and tagging the task to my team members and they will get the notification immediately on their desktop or phone application.

Cons

I don't really like the structure to adding a sub-task to the existing task. It is confusing and sometimes, there is a bug that make the existing task due date following the sub-task date, and not vice versa. It is a minor bugs, but quite annoying when i have to check it every time i am adding a sub-task.

### "Why I use Basecamp"

January 20, 2021

5.0

My team use to use an old fashion written calendar to write down their weekly tasks and then Covid happened. We were suddenly 100% online. Basecamp helped us get organized. Interestingly, I realized that the way we had been doing our work before was actually slow and confusing. Basecamp has helped my team stay on track and complete projects faster than when we would work together in the office. Basecamp has drastically improved our experience.

Pros

What I like most about this software is that my entire staff is able to see their individual weekly tasks in one place. My team does a lot of creative video and media work. Base camps help my team members know what each other's daily tasks and objects are and where we are at with those tasks. Basecamp has allowed us to have all of our work in one place and that's improved our team's ability to communicate. We now complete tasks more easily than ever.

Cons

The only con is the cost of Basecamp. I wouldn't say that Basecamp is expensive. However, it does look like there are cheaper project management tools on the market right now. Those other project management tools lack some of the features that base camp offers but they can be cheaper. I would like to see Basecamp adjust their prices so that they could be more competitive with these other companies.

### "Clean, easy to use design with all collaboration tools in one place"

October 31, 2020

5.0

Overall Basecamp is very easy to use, they have great training videos and the design is top notch. There are just a few features that are really important for document sharing that are missing.

Pros

The design of the platform is clean, easy to navigate and work in. That's what initially drew me to the platform. Other options like Trello are a complete visual mess to look at which defeats the purpose of organization. The other big thing I love about Basecamp is that all your communication tools are in one place, so no need to have slack and email and a project management software.

Cons

The biggest feature that is missing is a robust document editor + creator. We ended up using the Google suite to create our documents and spreadsheets and then linking them in basecamp, however being taken off the platform creates redundancies that are frustrating. You can create documents in Basecamp but they don't have the features that Google Docs does like formatting, commenting on specific text etc.

Reason for choosing Basecamp

The design was far superior, you didn't have to connect a bunch of outside apps like Slack and it was a set price, you didn't pay per user.

### "Intuitive and Organized"

December 12, 2018

4.0

Basecamp has easily made my project workflow insanely more organized. There is no doubt that this is a necessary tool in day-to-day communications if you're working on more than one project at a time, with different people on each of those projects. Larger organizations will greatly benefit from a tool like this, that keeps record of communications internally and externally, as well as a place for documentation to live relate to the project, and easily create to-do lists and assign content to individuals. Definitely a dream-tool for my industry.

Pros

I love that they keep evolving the platform. I have been using Basecamp since the first launch, and as the needs of users evolve, Basecamp is always trying to keep on pace with that. Its clean and organized, and I love the ability to have client facing versus internal communications all contained within one platform.

Cons

I still think, organizationally, Basecamp could use a little boost. The naming for some of the features within Basecamp isn't consistent with industry standards, therefore making some of the items overlooked within the platform that could be more useful. Some of the options are very underutilized within my organization because nobody quite understands how to use it. There could definitely be a much better on-boarding process for new users, and when updates are made.

### "Best Project and Task Management Software I've Ever Experienced"

December 4, 2020

5.0

In 10 years of experience with many task and project management tools, Basecamp is and I believe will always be the best platform I've ever worked on.

Pros

Basecamp is a well-designed task management platform which also have useful tools for collaborating, instant messaging, managing team calendar, file sharing and collecting feedback from teams. Plain design and well-crafted UX makes Basecamp easy to be learned by new team members. Apps for mobile devices, PC and Mac works well so that makes Basecamp accesible from anywhere. Basecamp also works really fast as a cloud-based software and I believe that is very important for task management platform.

Cons

Basecamp doesn't really have huge cons. There are a few thing I'd like to see on Basecamp. A detailed reporting screen and maybe a customizable dashboard would allow managers and directors to monitor what's going on during a day or a week. A personal dashboard would help users to plan their day, week or month much easily. A more advanced permission screen for teams and projects would be amazing.

Overall experience has been fantastic for small size projects

Pros

The ease of use makes it comfortable for even a novice users which is a great advantage of Basecamp over competitors. You don’t need to learn Agile or any such methodical practices to set up your tasks in Basecamp

Cons

For high end projects, it needs to be more sctructure oriented about setting up Sprint, Scrum etc

### "Effective in handling task collaboration"

May 24, 2022

5.0

I totally satisfied with my experience handling and working alongside Basecamp for task collaboration and quick communication.

Pros

I like that I can have a limitless amount of users, assignments, data, deadlines, etc., for an annual subscription. No other software could equal the simplicity of use and price on a budget. My favourite features include the ability to search by phrase, the right to communicate with coworkers, and the clarity with which you can establish projects and tasks.

Cons

We've had issues with this product because of the difficulty we've had managing vast numbers of projects, keeping tabs on each project's progress, and keeping track of individual contractors' work and timesheets. Since we're working on a technology services project, where work must be monitored and detailed at all levels, using check-ins has proven difficult.

### "One of the best solutions for project and task management"

Each of the project progress can be tracked and the milestones tracker is very helpful for us to know our overall progress.

Cons

Some of the project methodologies can't be found in here. It will be great if they has Kanban style project management that i can use it to managing my daily task. The Kanban board will help me to see the overall of the project easier and is very suitable for managing repetitive task with it.

### "Helps Organize Our Projects Between Teams "

October 23, 2018

5.0

Pros

As a marketing team, not only do we all work remotely, but we have a few companies that we use to create graphics and copy we also interact with remotely. Basecamp is a wonderful tool to keep conversations and files on projects organized and easy to access. We can make comments on certain projects and email the people associated with that project. We can search for certain items by name or by a comment and have the ability to streamline our conversations all on one platform so our emails don't become flooded with back-and-forth commentary. It is one application we use every day, and definitely helps with accountability and allows for users to see what projects they're working on that have been updated and if they need to address and comments or questions. We highly recommend!

Cons

I do wish the organization of images and attached files was a bit cleaner. As of now, it stores everything by upload date and it can be difficult to locate files if they were added some time ago. I also wish you could transfer responsibility of projects from one person to the next - as of now you can only include them in the email notifcation that goes out if a comment was made on a project.
