### "Happy Campers!"

February 28, 2026

5.0

In short, the experience has been nothing but positive! The platform implementation was seamless and user friendly! We are all feeling an increase in transparency across the board!

Pros

I have thoroughly enjoyed how streamlined communications with clients have become. I am able to seamlessly communicate with remote clients and share files with ease!

Cons

Thus far, no cons! Ultimately, communication is UP and errors are DOWN! The implementation of the platform has helped clarify where the team is on a project!

### "Simplify project management with Basecamp "

July 16, 2025

5.0

I use it to manage all my work and tasks and also encourage clients to use as well. It allows people to catch up quickly if not up to date, keeps everyone honest and efficient and provides a central place for all work-related activity.

Pros

It takes a less is more approach to features, is very intuitive (which helps when on-boarding new people) and the logic of grouped to-do lists with historical threads and asset uploads cannot be beat. I use it daily and have been for over 15 years.

Cons

Nothing comes to mind. I really enjoy the product and don’t have any complaints. They role out features slowly and clearly so you can adapt.

Reason for choosing Basecamp

Years ago we tried Monday and after a month realized we didn’t not like it. Mainly because it is so customizable and feature rich, it was actually frustrating. It did too much if that makes sense. We went back to Basecamp because it does all we want and does it really well. Less is more.

### "Basecamp Review: My Take on Its Pings, Projects, and All Those Little Boxes"

June 3, 2025

3.0

Look, I genuinely wanted to like Basecamp. The promise of a simpler, more organized work life is always tempting. And for some teams, I'm sure it's the bee's knees. But for me, the way it breaks everything down into what feels like a hundred little compartments, and the slightly clunky, disconnected feel of features like Pings, just created more mental friction than it solved. It often felt like I was fighting the tool to get a holistic view, rather than the tool helping me see clearly. It's one of those platforms that I think you'll either gel with immediately or find yourself constantly bumping up against its limitations and structure. If you're curious, the free trial is the way to go. But go in with your eyes open, knowing that its brand of "simplicity" can come with its own set of quirks and frustrations, especially if you don't like feeling too boxed in by your software.

Pros

Keeps project talk mostly in One Place. Discussions and files are generally tied to the specific project they belong to, which is definitely a step up from hunting through endless email chains.

Cons

Compartmentalization overload! This was my biggest hurdle. Basecamp walls everything off. Each project is its own little silo, which is fine, I guess. But even within a project, you're constantly hopping between the Message Board, then over to To-Dos, then popping into Campfire, then digging through Docs & Files. It's supposed to be organized, but I often felt like I was navigating a digital maze just to get a complete understanding of what was going on. If you're trying to manage multiple projects, it becomes a real headache trying to see the bigger picture. It felt less like a unified workspace and more like a collection of separate mini-tools loosely bundled together. I spent more time clicking between sections than I wanted. Their version of direct messages, "Pings," just didn't do it for me.It is very easy to lose messages and not a good list view to see previous messages.

### "Highly recommended for small teams and large team to keep async communication tight. "

August 28, 2025

5.0

Works best if you want to use it as your second brain, because everything you can store here, your learnings, reminders, projects, every detail.

Pros

I used Basecamp as my second brain, every new learnings I store in my basecamp account and I always follow all the to-dos which keeps me accountable and shows me I'm following the process or no, it also helps me store my leanings in structured format which is very helpful after times, also these learnings are easily accessed by my team members too, which keeps the async communication tight between the team, so overall the tool is good for small teams and if you go with project wise it is easy to use for large teams too.

Cons

There have been instances where copying documents and to-dos results in the creation dates appearing in the copied cards and tasks, which can feel outdated. This often leads to miscommunication. To avoid this issue, when a card is copied, the creation date should be updated to reflect the current time instead of retaining the original date.

### "The best task and project management resource!"

September 12, 2025

4.0

Basecamp is honestly something I cannot live without in my work anymore!! We use it to communicate across the team and are able to create projects that only align with certain members so as not to cloud the field.

Pros

Basecamp is an absolutely fantastic resource for our team in creating and managing work flows, events, communication, and other programs. It is absolutely crucial for us and we use it daily. It is extremely easy to use and sets up practical plans for completing tasks.

Cons

The one thing I wish that we could do is that when there is a task that multiple people need to complete, being able to have each person check it off individually for their part being complete only rather than having to input individual tasks for each person.

### "A Do-It-All platform"

July 16, 2025

4.0

Simple to use. Easy to manage projects. Efficient way to communicate. Provides a trackable message history for referencing. Straightforward to use.

Pros

Great way to set up communication/chats between specific groups within our company, that allow for easy visibility and quick notification/response so that we can keep our business moving.

Cons

The fact that a notification badge cannot be attached to the app icon when on computer is disappointing. The Basecamp app on my phone notifies me that there is a message, but for some reason this functionality is not available for the desktop version. It causes many within our company to miss when messages are waiting.

Basecamp is really easy to use with plenty of options for you to organise your organisation and information to best suit you.

We have been using basecamp for years and have no reason to leave. The project management is unmatched.

Pros

Basecamp is such a wonderful tool because of how the entire team can stay organized. We are a team of 20 and have so many projects to manage and this application makes it easy for us to manage.

Cons

The only downfall is the interface. Its a bit lackluster and could use a upgrade so it doesn’t feel dated compared to its competitors.

### "Good for project management for small-sized companies"

July 8, 2025

3.0

Overall, okay for certain small companies, but as the company size grows, I feel Basecamp would become insufficient for their needs.

Pros

Basecamp is a great tool for project management, especially for an agency-style setup where there are multiple projects going on with team members working on different projects differently. The pricing is quite affordable.

Cons

I feel Basecamp needs to update its interface to a modern design. The chat (Campfire) is not very powerful, especially for group communication. The file upload and sharing features are also a bit clunky. Sometimes it takes me a while to find things because the search is not very powerful.

### "A single source of truth for all our client projects"

August 26, 2025

5.0

Despite the small limitations with Basecamp it's become a staple for our client projects - and our clients love it. The onboarding is very simple.

Pros

It's become a single source of truth for our client projects, providing a one-stop shop for everything we typically send via email.

Cons

There are small things that don't quite work yet - the inability to create Gantt charts, or sophisticated project timelines is probably the biggest one. I'd like to see deeper integrations as well.

### "Great for Team and Client Communication, but Lacks Advanced Features"

October 31, 2025

4.0

Basecamp is a solid tool for managing projects and teams. It’s easy to onboard new members and keeps all project communications and files in one place. While it lacks some advanced features and the pricing may be steep for smaller teams, it significantly improves organization and productivity.

Pros

I like that Basecamp keeps all our communication in one place, so we don’t get lost in endless emails and everyone stays on the same page.

Cons

It can be expensive for small teams, and the editor feels limited, so some enhancements would be nice.

### "Blasting off for task management motivation"

I switched to Basecamp when looking for a new way to handle tasks. It's been a dream. The interface itself makes me feel motivated to keep going. I don't feel like I need to get a master's degree in the tool, but for all the learning I need to do, Basecamp gives a perfect introduction.

Pros

I love the simplicity of tracking to-dos organizing projects and the overview it gives of my workflow landscape.

Cons

The only con is that I waited so long to start Basecamp. I wish I had found it earlier it is so much more streamlined than other options.

Our school uses it for all creative projects to match teams with our graphic designer. We can all comment, request changes, and modifications. Then, our head of school can approve all within the same location.

### "Helpful communication and asset hub for teams"

March 18, 2025

4.0

I've had Basecamp as an offering at various ad agencies where it was important to have various teams and individuals have a central hub for documents and creative to collectively access.

Pros

Allows teams and departments to easily communicate and leverage as a repository important assets such as creative that can collectively be accessed, revised, tracked, as well as allowing members to provide feedback and edits.

Cons

My experience with it still felt like it was a small pain to use and included too many extra steps to access.
