### "Bring All Your Projects, Clients and Team Members to Home Base with Basecamp "

May 13, 2019

5.0

I'm no longer missing project deadlines and I'm now working on one platform with my clients and my team. By using Basecamp, I've saved time because we have fewer emails, less meetings and more work completed on time. Instead of scheduling a weekly meeting, Basecamp sends out a notification and asks my team for updates and their answers or follow-up questions appear right on the same page allowing me and the client to automatically read the status of the project from each team member. My projects are kept private until I decide it is time to share the Final Masterpiece. My work is now organized, I know the progress that is made and my projects are completed adequately and efficiently.

Pros

The feature I liked most about this software is how I could keep everyone on the same page when completing a project. I can create a to-do list and assign tasks from the list to one or more people. I can also attach notes and files for team members to utilize. This software helps save time because I no longer have to send out separate emails with directions and attachments. I can now use Basecamp and choose who I want to assign what to all in one platform.

Cons

I did not like the notifications notifying me status updates each time a task to the project was updated. But now, Basecamp designed an option allowing you to turn off notifications by simply unfollowing the project.

### "Review about Basecamp"

February 9, 2024

5.0

My overall experience is good about Basecamp. I will suggest it to my colleagues and friends to use it once.

Pros

We have two teams using basecamp. We use to track project, to share updates and followups of activity. For us its easy to use. Its easy to create chat rooms for each of the clients and project management.

Cons

One thing I like the least is the response of the support team it takes a little bit of time.

### "Not a Swiss Army Knife, But Offers Extreme Value"

January 7, 2020

5.0

I've used Basecamp for more than 10 years and it has worked with me through three different positions in the three different industries. Their onboarding tools and support team offers a lot of immediate help when you need it. I'm definitely an evangelist for this platform.

Pros

Basecamp 3 offers an intuitive platform and interface for project and operational collaboration across a wide distributed team. It's easy to onboard new team members both inside and outside the organization. The flat-rate price is a steal compared to all of its competitors.

Cons

Basecamp does not try to be all things to all people, which is a blessing and a curse. There are dozens of other features offered by other platform that are not offered by Basecamp. So if those features are critical, you may have to turn to one of the API-driven integrations for a separate fee.

Reason for choosing Basecamp

Basecamp offers the best value for the price and it quick and easy to implement.

### "Keeps improving, but still pleasantly lean"

February 9, 2021

5.0

We have used it for a couple years and we keep finding more uses for it. It allows for management to have a snapshot of whats being done. It also allows for them to set project priorities (though this could be improved). Its clean and simple and has really improved our communication and tracking.

Pros

The software is pretty lean. There arent a lot of excess features that arent used. Those that we dont use arent in the way of the ones we do use.

Cons

Tasks dont have individual completion checks. e.g. Alice and Bob both have to review Document X. Alice reviewed it but Bob hasnt. Alice doesnt have her own check market to let me know that shes done. She just has to comment below the task that she has reviewed it.

### "I love Basecamp for simplicity and easy collaboration"

November 21, 2023

5.0

Overall, I love the flat pricing structure and it's perfect for those projects where you don't want to see resource division, timeline, etc panning over multiple projects.

Pros

I love that Basecamp does not have a steep learning curve. It's wonderful for non technical team and also to invite clients who are not techies to see the progress.

Cons

I am sad that Basecamp does not have advanced GANTT or roadmaps that can pick tasks from multiple projects. There is no overview or dashboard to see everything that's happening. I need to go inside each project to see the progress.

### "Clear and simple project management across teams"

January 5, 2022

5.0

Brilliant for agencies, fantastic for in house teams of scale with multiple agencies. For very SME

Pros

Loved the ability for all teams to be on board in a clear way with task setting and easy communication - from sales all the way through to developers, SEO specialists and external agencies.

Cons

Tasks could be highlighted a little more and perhaps graded by priority and deadline with colour. Additionally, would be great if they could create a basic option for very small businesses.

Reason for choosing Basecamp

It was the best for our requirements.

### "All in one projects, teams and file management system"

May 16, 2021

5.0

I use Basecamp both for internal and external projects. This software completely covered our needs and we so not use anymore outlook. There is no the cheapest, but it worths the money.

Pros

Basecamp is one stop shop for marketers. The communication between team members is extremely easy. No more undeliverable email, or lost files. Everybody knows what is expected to do and who is responsible for particular task.

Cons

Yes even super products could be a great product. I missed the customisable templates and may be some billing information for different projects and tasks.

Reason for choosing Basecamp

Actually I made my research very well and choose Basecamp as project management tool. It fits very well to my company's needs.

### "Basecamp is best for team management"

June 9, 2021

4.0

Pros

Getting all of my team mates updated and on the same page especially when we are running on a project is the best that Basecamp can do. The milestone project tracker help us to mark our task progress and see which aspect of the project is lacking, so we can attend to it quickly.

Cons

Basecamp is easy, but maybe too easy that managing a complex project would be impossible and not ideal to be manage from this software. Some of the advance tools like project methodologies is not available and we had to do it manually or switching to other software for it.

### "There are better project management tools"

March 2, 2021

4.0

Overall, it's a tool that will reduce your emails quickly, but there are better options out there depending on your specific needs. For managing personal tasks, I recommend To-Doist. To track and manage project progress with a team in a visual, board-like environment (great for sticky-note lovers), try Trello. For frequent communication and file sharing, Slack is best.

Pros

I like how you can create different teams and "spaces" to work in. I also like that you can easily tag people on a task and add files to a task. If you are coming from no project management tool at all, you will enjoy Basecamp; it greatly reduces the number of emails and downloads you're sending and receiving.

Cons

There's a lot that could be improved about this software. For starters, the architecture for teams, spaces, and projects is clunky; you have to hit the back arrow a lot and ready dig down and around to get where you want to go. And if you want to go somewhere else, you're back down the rabbit hole. I also don't like how difficult it is to find tasks that you've completed, if you wanted to then later see notes or files.

### "The perfect solution project management with many team members & projects"

March 20, 2019

4.0

Pros

Being involved in business acquisitions means that there may be the possibility of having to handle more than one projects at the same time. Naturally, all of the projects are, most of the time, equally important and it i paramount that the deal can be closed on time without any significant delays. More often than not, many team members are involved and expected to push thing along so that the processes can be completed in accordance with the pre-determined schedule. Prior to using this software, it was sort of a nightmare having to chase every single team member, constantly and manually inform everyone what their immediate tasks and deliverables are. The downside of doing this is that sometimes misscommunication may occur where one would thought that his/her supposed-assigned tasks is handled by someone else, and ultimately this will cause delay on the targeted milestone. Gone those terrible days where everything have to be manually tracked and consolidated! Using Basecamp, team members can collaborate to manage individual and team tasks on the same platform. This way, everyone is ware of their assignments and deadlines, as well as any supporting files for the said assignments, Here are some of the available tools by Basecamp which are very helpful: project-specific chat, forum (for more extensive discussions, idea), To-Do list, Schedule to manage milestone, deadlines and meetings, virtual storage solution. Moreover, I love that Basecamp has a friendly and easy to use GUI,

Cons

Some of the features maybe duplicates in terms of functionality (ie schedule - diary), cannot create recurring to-do which can be a manual process, can be seen as a very basic project management software, no feature to know what is the workload of other colleague; this way if someone is pretty occupied, the task can be reassigned to someone else. Also pricing structure may not be suitable for small business with few users and projects. Last but not least, perhaps the threshold for file size can be increased a bit so I don’t have to share them via other means (ie Dropbox of Google Drive).

### "A useful tool for managing tasks and assigning them"

November 17, 2022

5.0

I have used Basecamp to keep a track of tasks assigned to my team on a daily basis. People can also add comments within the project if needed. It allows to uploading of files as well. So we upload all the weekly reports and reduce the hassle of life.

Pros

Basecamp can help you keep records and track multiple tasks in a single place. You can assign priorities and get them executed by assigning them to your teammates. The UI is not as complex as the other tools. It also allows to you upload and share files.

Cons

The UI is simple and someone can quickly get a hold of it but it looks like it was designed 5-7 years ago. You do not get a modern interface feel while using the same.

### "Solid application for project management"

5.0

Pros

Basecamp is one of the application that has all the main feature or tools that are needed for managing and completing a task and project management. I really like that i can check everyone real-time activities status on the communication hub to see if they are active or inactive.

Cons

There not much that i like least about Basecamp, except that the learning curves to understand all of the feature in the software. There are too many feature in here, and it really takes some time for me to know all the feature and be expert of it. Overall, good software.

### "The foundation of my success, is Basecamp"

July 6, 2020

5.0

Awesome. The product is easy to setup. Easy to on-board, easy to start using. Easy to achieve benefits from. High quality, cheap and the support is second to none.

Pros

Everything is in 1 place. All emails and context are linked and it's super easy to see a holistic view of everything.

Cons

The calendar is terrible, specifically, it's lack of 2-way sync is deeply frustrating. You either have to commit to Basecamp being your calendar, or your calendar is a separate silo outside of Basecamp, either option is not an ideal.

Reason for choosing Basecamp

The best price for functionality. The best support. The best structure. The best sharing options.

### "Great tool for collaborating internally and with agency partners"

July 19, 2018

5.0

Collaborate and communicate about projects, share and discover files and documents, accessible everywhere

Pros

I've used Basecamp for about 5 years now, at two different companies. I really like that it's intuitive, not overly fussy, and it takes very little training to start collaborating, commenting and keeping track of projects. I used Basecamp at two different companies, and they each had a different model and method of using the tool. I appreciate that it's flexible enough to give this customization, but still recognizable as Basecamp and easy for a first timer to understand. The search function is also really useful, I like that you can sort by file type. I use that all the time.

Cons

Occasionally I've found that the different user designations can be a little goofy. For instance, I was unable to add new users to a conversation because of some setting, which was inconvenient when working with agency partners that were often changing or needed new account managers tagged in. Not sure if this was a function of Basecamp or a preference of my employer, though.

### "Great for small to mid-size companies "

Great app.

Pros

It has a very user-friendly setup, which is very time-saving for all team members. Mention and assignment notifications are helpful in keeping up with the workload. It's also helpful to keep track of and plan ahead by checking what others have on their plates if you're a mid-manager.

Cons

We sometimes encountered bugs (pages not fully loading for a whole day etc) but it was often solved quickly. The CS team was always helpful & fast with those issues.

### "Great in Theory, But Maybe Not in Reality?"

April 16, 2018

4.0

Pros

Our marketing team uses Basecamp exclusively for project management, having settled on it after trials with other platforms. The core functionality is works well enough, and frankly it's difficult to articulate what I find unappealing about it—see below for more on that. Basecamp says that it can replace a bunch of other tools (e.g., Slack, Dropbox) and centralize everything at a lower price, and I guess that's true. But our team still uses Slack and Dropbox, so there's a disconnect somewhere.

Cons

I don't know—Basecamp obviously has a ton of functionality, but our team has struggled to get the most of it, which might be our own fault. For example, looking at the Basecamp homepage, I can see a ton of links I've never clicked: bookmarks, schedule, drafts, applause. I don't even know how half of these features work, and keep in mind, I use Basecamp every day. What I see instead is a tidal wave of notifications coming through to my email and projects falling off the map because someone forgot to change who it was assigned to. Maybe the criticism is that it's not as intuitive as it could be? There's all these features, but I don't know why I should want to use them? Sell them to me.

### "Accountability and group engagement are key to effective project management."

August 7, 2021

4.0

Basecamp tried to bring all team members together in a conference room despite their geographical distance, stressing the need of involvement in order to obtain the best results.

Pros

A modern project management tool that is easy to use for all users, Basecamp's cutting-edge project management software enables your team to work together efficiently to complete more tasks with positive outcomes for all involved. If your team can communicate information from anywhere using Basecamp, you'll save time while accomplishing more tasks, resulting in higher success for everyone. With the help of this tool, everyone will be able to comprehend their jobs and schedule their own responsibilities, which will allow them to better integrate into their teams and close many communication gaps. As you work on your project, Basecamp will construct a database for it as well as any other projects you're involved in. The database will allow you to quickly and accurately retrieve the information you need. Using Basecamp, you can manage projects more efficiently and encourage team members to take ownership.

Cons

It is a great tool, easy to use, and ideal for both large and small workgroups, however, I believe the basecamp interface might benefit from more display options so that all of the functionality is more readily accessible.

### "Great for Managing Team Projects and Including the Client!"

August 4, 2018

5.0

I use Basecamp to manage software implementation projects. Basecamp has been a GREAT tool to keep everyone on the same page, and offers a way to track discussions and offer accountability to our internal team and clients. We have nearly 70 internal users and thousands of client users. It's a staple what we do, and we love it!

Pros

The beauty of Basecamp, is it's simplicity. When you want to include clients on projects, you don't want them to have huge learning curves, because the result is...they just won't use it. Basecamp is intuitive, non-threatening, and user-friendly. Our clients get invites, and even if they've never heard of Basecamp (which is often the case), they end up using it right away and it becomes a pivotal part of our communication process. And, those few clients that don'e create Basecamp accounts, can simply respond and reply by email, and these updates end up in Basecamp too! Basecamp also has a number of integrations that can be used to work with out software products for things like time tracking, charts, etc. It keeps everyone on the same page, and offers an audit trail of discussions...which prevents frustrating finger-pointing and misunderstandings through the project process. I highly recommend giving Basecamp a try!

Cons

Honestly, there isn't anything that I don't like about Basecamp. It doesn't include a bunch of useless features, but does it's job well and offers integrations.

### "Good tool for starters for task management"

September 27, 2022

4.0

Basecamp is a good project management tool and has been helpful for my team to collaborate and keep a check on the tasks. I recommend basecamp to organizations who have few projects to manage and are looking for all the basic features.

Pros

Basecamp is a good tool for all the team collaborations. We have been using this tool for 6 months now and do like the easy interface of the tool. It helps us manage the teams efficiently and also track the progress on the day to day tasks assigned to the team.

Cons

The free version has limited options. There is also a limit on the number of projects that can be added. The interface can be made more attractive and user friendly.
