### "A great help in our organization"

January 9, 2020

5.0

Basecamp helps us organize each conversation, pending tasks and much more in what we work every day, since this tool is used we have greater work capacity and efficiency since it saves us time and we can better produce the assigned work. It is easy to use so all the people in the company are interested in using it daily with total normality.

Pros

It is easy to use and intuitive and that is appreciated in this type of work since each user can start using it in a relatively short time and with great skill, since we have to be communicated with each person within the project, files can be shared to teams within each project and file them in a folder and so whenever you want you can review each project over the years and this is important to have it. It has a very reasonable price and this is fine for small and medium companies that want to have Basecamp.

Cons

Basically Basecamp does not have big problems to talk about, it is a work tool that helps us day by day, there are certain details that could be improved but they are not a very big problem, they should make a change in terms of organization and visualization of each task or project, pending tasks and conversations. But it is more of an aid that offers us than the errors that can occur in each use daily.

### "No more email threads and hard-to-manage messenger conversations! "

July 8, 2021

5.0

Basecamp has been a gamechanger for our workflow. It has streamlined communication, resource sharing, and project management. In addition, Basecamp has allowed us to ditch unorganized conversations over email and messenger.

Pros

Basecamp has drastically improved the way my team communicates on a daily basis. We now primarily use Basecamp as our communication platform and have limited our conversations through email and Slack messenger. Basecamp allows us to create threads based on specific subjects and allows us to easily share resources with one another.

Cons

Basecamp allows for very little customization besides the use of our company logo. I would love to be able to customize our threads based on color for easy reference. It would also be useful for Basecamp to allow for sublists, priorities, and milestones.

### "Basecamp fan for life, Excellent software "

November 29, 2022

4.0

Pros

Its user- friendly, even less tech-savvy users are able to grasp what its all about in few minutes of use. We can control which data the client has access to and also assign team members access to different projects denying permissions to those projects they are not allowed to access. Auto updates and notifications keeps me uptodate. Basecamp is a time saver, keeps everyone on toes and really helps us to set project deadlines, monitor perfomance, keep everyone accountable, track progress, track perfomance etc, this helps us as an organization realize our goals. Its simple to upload attachments, pictures etc with Basecamp. I also use the software for document storage and archiving. Support team is excellent and on standby to assist

Cons

There is absolutely nothing I did not love about Basecamp

### "Basecamp - The all in one Project Management and collaboration Tool"

December 17, 2018

4.0

Pros

Basecamp is an integrated project management tool that allows you to bring groups together for collaborations and projects. It has rolled up multiple products into one to create a complete Project management app. You can easily add users and give them access to specific projects while being an admin to a master account. You can also collaborate on document editing & checklists. The group communication feature works well for group chats though it lacks a group calling feature. You could easily replace email in a sense while collaborating with multiple people using the group communication feature. Pricing model is hard to beat. For a flat rate, you get almost unlimited features (though storage is limited) and still get the best of most worlds including group chat, project management, document editing and more. The check in feature is probably my favorite feature of them all. Being able to get a summarized brief from all team members helps to keep projects in perspective and understand where everyone is at on a timeline. Its also great that at a click of a button, you can quickly ask multiple people for updates.

Cons

Though there are mobile apps, I feel that Basecamp's apps do not really offer a lot more than you would get on the web app. It almost feels like the mobile apps push you back to the web app in the end. Things like Group chat lack features like video conference calling or audio calls, you have to turn to another app for this, which means something else to pay for. Storage options might be ok for the price but when you have unlimited users running multiple projects, the 500gb storage finishes up quickly. If there were a few more storage options it would be great.

### "Everything an effective management needs for success."

April 19, 2019

5.0

One of the problems that every work team has is to organize work methods, communication channels and follow-up on assigned tasks. Since the implementation of Basecamp we have achieved a response in record time for customer service, and the goals assigned to each department. We have a virtual office organized thanks to Basecamp. We do not need another communication complement to achieve a functional channel. Another benefit is the saving of money, although there are other means that we still use, little by little we have reduced others, which translates into a significant reduction of payments to platforms that makes less than what Basecamp offers.

Pros

I really like being able to have in one place all the responsibilities that each worker must fulfill, with an effective channel of communication that saves me time, it is not necessary to remind each person that they must comply with some aspect. I can create a new project and have the contributions that the team makes to each one of the aspects. It is ideal to comply with design assignments in advertising campaigns that I have received. It has organized my life! Another benefit that I like is that I can count on several work groups, which allows me to monitor the progress of each one of them. Being working for several companies, in different countries, I really like that it helps me to participate without geographical limitations in working groups. I also like the work that I have saved because my clients participate in real time in the advances of the graphic arts that they request, I am completely satisfied with their operation.

Cons

I am very satisfied with the platform, it is very complete and I can perceive that in real time correct possible errors. To date I have not found any negative aspects that change my opinion, it is one of the best in the market.

### "Great Project Management Software!"

March 5, 2019

5.0

I personally think the layout of Basecamp is clearer and easier to use than other project management software, particularly Asana. I use both (for different jobs), and I like Basecamp better. Now that I use Basecamp, I have no idea what I would do without it!

Pros

I love how easy it is to see clients and to-dos. I love that you can set Basecamp to email you reminders for upcoming tasks and/or activity on all your projects daily. It makes it so easy to keep track of everything!

Cons

This is such a small detail, but one that annoys me frequently. When you click a link on Basecamp, it takes you straight to that webpage, instead of opening a new webpage. This means you lose the Basecamp page you were on and have to click back to get to it. It's a small thing, but it makes a difference in my workflow. Please make all links open to a new webpage, Basecamp! Also, you cannot see a preview of documents in Basecamp. You have to download each item individually, oftentimes I realize I have downloaded the same document over and over again. A preview would cut down on this wasted time.

### "\[SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN\] Basecamp Review"

December 5, 2019

4.0

Overall, I would say that it is suited for a smaller team of fewer people with a smaller company. I believe it used to work for our company before we grew to a larger size -- but we've outgrown its capabilities. I would recommend Basecamp to a smaller-sized company.

Pros

I enjoy checking off tasks and it's easy to see which tasks are assigned to which people. The reminder emails are useful, as well as emails with comments to a project which I am added on.

Cons

It's not sufficient for the size of our company and nuances of our projects. It's not possible to have two different teams with different projects talk to each other across overlapping projects. That has made it necessary for me to be on both Basecamps, and toggle between the two. it would be helpful to go to one place to view all of the tasks. The templates for project tasklists that have to be competed in a specific date order cannot have dates automatically assigned or adjusted when the deadline for a project and its associated tasks changes. All of the dates need to be reassigned manually, which is time consuming and prone to human error. It would be great to have "blackout dates" that would make it impossible to assign tasks on specific dates such as holidays.

### "I've used Basecamp intermittently over the last 3 years."

April 30, 2018

5.0

Pros

Basecamp is best for improving organization and instilling clarity among teams. I love the notification board in Basecamp. It helps organize and clarify details and next steps in a team, which can often times get cluttered or grow faint via email and standard chat-type programs like Slack. The self-saving feature is awesome, too. I've been screwed over many times on other programs and email systems if my computer freezes or my browser shuts down unexpectedly so I have a wave of relief being on Basecamp in general. Any applicable files needed can be easily searched for and found within the system, too, which is great. This feature is definitely reminiscent of Google Drive, but Basecamp as a software tool is way more robust, functionality-wise.

Cons

Upload times can be slow and it can get a little glitchy, but the latter may be a function of my company's WiFi. If everyone on your team knows how to use Basecamp and if everyone on your team are solid workers, Basecamp can help you save so much time. BUT, if you have slackers or lazy people on your team (all too common even in the best companies out there) it can be incredibly frustrating to have to repeat information that's already clearly in Basecamp for them to reference. This isn't necessarily a 'con' but I'm often finding out about features I didn't know existed or didn't know were beneficial to leverage for my specific projects until I discovered them through conversations with colleagues. It'd be great to have tutorials embedded into the system so users know they're utilizing the system at its full capacity.

### "Great project management software to keep your team on track"

December 20, 2020

4.0

Pros

Basecamp is fairly easy to use for those with various technological backgrounds/experiences. In my work, we were able to onboard many new staff and partners to familiarize themselves with the software. It's a great system to manage projects, assign tasks and track progress. The file sharing/storage is also helpful.

Cons

The difficulty is maintaining interest in using the software. From what I've seen, there are not many new updates to Basecamp that keep a user interested. Once you are tired of getting email notifications and turn those off, you may never want to go back into your Basecamp account to use it. It's just not that exciting of a product (compared to others that are always innovating and adding new functions). Over time, team members drop off and stop using Basecamp and only one person goes into the software to manage task updates.

### "Well-intentioned"

November 21, 2018

3.0

Overall, I think Basecamp could be very beneficial for a small business who communicates constantly OR for a business where folks don't need to communicate too much beyond assigning and completing tasks.

Pros

An old job of mine used Basecamp and it was great to be able to see and check off tasks as you went. Seeing timelines for projects as well as seeing projectmates in one place made it easy to manage time and keep track of what was going on both with your own work, as well as with the overarching project. Integration with Google Drive was also good.

Cons

I say "well-intentioned" because Basecamp doesn't effectively substitute or congregate \*everything\* so in the end, it just became something else that we'd have to keep track of. I wish there had been some sort of comment or messaging system tied to tasks which could accordion in and out. Otherwise, you still have to ping people on Gchat and Gmail. Often, someone would be working on a project or pre-project but it's just an empty checkbox on Basecamp. It's good that it allows you to integrate files as well, but there seemed to be a disconnect between it and GDrive which made the latter preferable as a direct route since there are no previews in Basecamp.

### "It's great for staying organized"

April 17, 2020

4.0

Rather than a lot of messages that you basically need to look through, we may very well make strings in Basecamp then you'll remark and notice each extend and have everything beat one spot. Its been an exceptionally valuable specialized instrument to go to and fro with my mentor.

Pros

I love that I'm prepared to return and forward without breaking a sweat and not have notices shooting up continually and each one data is posted inconclusively. I feel it is a helpful thingamajig for venture correspondence and remaining sorted out. Basecamp is incredible for conveying venture information with a few people. We utilized it tons for task records, sharing document types, verbiage, photographs, and alters with our web website originator.

Cons

There were some abnormal sign-in issues I may run into. when I was first to welcome to a basecamp venture I feel it made a client profile for the benefit of me, so I could just sign in through clicking into the messages I may get from them. To some degree, extreme to remain track of posted messages once you continue adding to extra messages.

### "The best simple project management tool for the money. "

July 23, 2021

5.0

We love basecamp for teams when you have a simple process to follow.

Pros

It's super easy to use and set up. What you get out of the box works and doesn't require customization. You log in and are ready to go.

Cons

There were some cases where we could have used some customization and the task lists are fairly simple. We made it work, but having nested tasks would have made things a bit easier.

### "For managing details and timelines for complex projects"

February 13, 2019

5.0

I am a fundraiser, and often - OFTEN - have several big fundraising projects in preparation at the same time. Before Basecamp, it was a nightmare to keep all of the details for each event separate and clear, without dropping the ball on some important responsibilities. Unfortunately, failing to take care of an important detail on any of these events can be devastating, so I could barely sleep because of the stress of worrying about where I was on each project. Also, since I often use some of the same vendors (caterers, tent rental, hotel space) it was hard to remember if I had talked to them about each individual event, and had all of my facts straight for each individual event. Basecamp makes it possible to track each and every event carefully, set up connecting emails to keep everyone informed, and makes it very easy to set deadlines, timers, and reminders for every important goal and part of the event. It took an entire weekend to set up all of the lists, timelines, and connections needed within Basecamp for the eight complex fundraising events I had on my calendar when I first set up in Basecamp. But after that weekend, I slept better than I had in months because everything was organized, I could see in a few seconds exactly what was on my "To-do" list for each day, each week, and up until the day or the event, as well as what I was waiting for from anyone else. This program is certainly an expense. But it gave me incredible peace of mind.

Pros

It is so well integrated. For example, taking one action will also notify several team members who need to know about that action without me having to send numerous emails. The software makes it possible to track several or many projects with dozens of people without losing a step or forgetting anything.

Cons

A bit of a learning curve to get started, but technical support is good, and the program quickly becomes intuitive. The other members of your team - not only your staff, but your client - must also be willing to learn Basecamp. On the other hand, once they do, they will love it - and you!

Cons

### "A Really Good Project Management Tool!"

December 15, 2019

5.0

Bringing Basecamp into the organization wasn’t difficult. The system was easy and simple to integrate. My team loves it! We hare very satisfied with Basecamp.

Pros

Prior to basecamp, my organization was unorganized and working organically, there was no structure or timelines to our projects. Basecamp brought all that and MORE! It’s so simple to use and assign team members the tasks. It has a great user interface structure. There’s not a day that goes by where I’m not on Basecamp. It made such a positive impact in my organization!

Cons

When it comes to tracking, Basecamp doesn’t give a good overview of this. You need to consistent check what tasks have been completed and which ones aren’t. I hope they make an improvement on the Gantt Charts along with full project reports!

### "Best free PMS out there!"

5.0

Great experience for teams looking for basic PMS. The time period required to any member to learn how to use the software was very short. The outcome of using it was great, since it provides a clear visible dashboard for each project created and a list of activities done and missing.

Pros

Basecamp is a great free to use PMS for personal use. And extremely cheap for company use as well! It covers everything you need in a PMS for project management. Very easy to use implementation and you can always share documents through the platform.

Cons

It has limited functionality. I.e., you cannot program additional functions or sequences.
