### "Best project management tool "

November 3, 2019

5.0

Worth your time and cash. Clear yes! Every one of the organizations will see radically expanded efficiency.

Pros

I like that Basecamp makes it simple for remote groups to impart and achieve objectives. I especially like the talk capacity to message colleagues continuously, and message alternatives to send an immediate message to individual colleagues - with the goal that you're not adding to and confounding gathering string. Likewise, I like the "landing page" that you arrive on when you sign in on the grounds that it gives you a supportive diagram of the entirety of your undertakings - with the goal that you're helped to remember what's on your plate. Also, I like the simplified archive work. It's out and out amusing to drag archives into activities, and it's anything but difficult to discover them. I additionally love the hunt work - accommodating in the event that I know the point I need data about, yet can't recollect which venture incorporates that subject.

Cons

There is nothing that I hate about this tool. I figure it is incredible to incorporate increasingly complex highlights, for example, advanced capacities and so on. Additionally, I couldn't want anything more than to sort explicit undertakings by specific catchphrases, this would be extraordinary for everybody who has a ton of progressing ventures.

### "Project Managers Home Base"

September 26, 2018

5.0

As the PM, I rely heavily on basecamp for keeping everyone in the loop, keeping files in one place, available and up-to-date, and keeping all at the same page for the current action items and updates. With just a little training on simple how-to-use, basecamp can easily adopted by any type of user.

Pros

Thanks to Basecamp I was able to manage our Team Projects in the office. It works as a common workspace for most (if not all) of a Project Manager's needs like the following: 1. Communication - Basecamp makes it easy to communicate among project team members, either on a per ticket, or per issue, or whatever topic to talk about. The notifications make is easy to disseminate information or email updates (esp for those who don't normally login to basecamp and still rely on their emails). A full history of our conversations is fully logged and can be reviewed. 2. Archive - We share a lot of files (docs, spreadsheets, presentations) and Basecamp has been our central repository of such files. It is easy to search and access files. 3. Cloud - As long as our office connection is reliable and we have mobile internet ready for those on the field, we can access Basecamp from anywhere at the time. We have not experienced a single outage or downtime with Basecamp.

Cons

There are many tools out there for project management use. It takes a while to get the team members to really use and be fully engaged within Basecamp. Also, as mentioned above, some team members are fine with email notifications. For older, not so tech savvy team members, (esp our consultants), they somehow find Basecamp clunky and not easy to navigate. It would be nice to make the UX more friendly sort of like a social platform wall.

### "Bascamp for college students"

April 20, 2023

4.0

Overall, students may find Basecamp to be a useful tool for managing group projects and assignments. The platform provides a centralized location for communication and collaboration, which can help to reduce confusion and ensure that everyone is on the same page. Students can create task lists, set reminders, and track progress in real time, which can help them to stay organized and meet important deadlines.

Pros

Centralized communication: Basecamp provides a central location for students to communicate and collaborate with each other, which can help to reduce confusion and ensure that everyone is on the same page. Easy file sharing: Students can use Basecamp to share files and documents with each other, making it easy to collaborate on assignments and projects.

Cons

As a student may find that the platform has a steeper learning curve compared to other project management tools, as it can take some time to become familiar with all of its features and functionality.Additionally, some students may find that the pricing of Basecamp can be a drawback, as it is a paid platform and may not be affordable for all students, particularly those on a tight budget.

### "Great for Collaboration, Okay for Project Management"

February 12, 2021

4.0

We have daily production deadlines (shipping a couple projects per day) along with ongoing edits to those projects once delivered. Basecamp has allowed us to keep track of it all.

Pros

I like the embedded messaging and ability to paste screenshots in discussion threads.

Cons

I wish there was a way to assign times to tasks that summed. We have production employees that report to multiple project managers and it would be helpful if project managers could see a summation of an employee's assigned hours per day. In that way, they could look at a calendar view for time availability for the production staff and assign accordingly.

### "Easy way to keep track of task"

December 6, 2021

Pros

I really like working with Basecamp to track and collaborate task with my colleague. The interface is really simple and easy to the eye, as i have to working with it a day long. It also has a feature to share files with each other easier.

Cons

I not a fan of the forum like messenger, as will make it harder to track on the communication and i had to scan all the message from the top of the chat head and it is taking time and making me confuse.

### "Basecamp: A solid choice for project management"

November 6, 2023

5.0

Overall, we love it. A great platform in a world of unlimited project management platforms.

Pros

I found it very easy to use and most of clients did as well. You can easily upload files, track progress, and more all within one platform.

Cons

We first joined shortly before the switch from Basecamp 2 to 3 and there were a lot of growing pains with that. Some of the Adminland features are a little tedious, such as assigning members projects.

Reason for choosing Basecamp

We were familiar with it, having used it before and our customers found it to be one of the most user friendly, which is incredibly important.

### "Basecamp is simple yet powerful tool"

March 3, 2021

4.0

I love Basecamp, because it's my maiden project management tool. And I will continue using it in the future.

Pros

I use Basecamp when I work with my remote clients on various projects. It's a very easy-to-use project management and collaboration tool. Very easy to navigate through projects and tasks and check to-do status. It also very organized, you can keep and share all your project files and media in one place. You can easily reply to the project board messages by just replying to the email notification from Basecamp.

Cons

Basecamp and its features are great choices for small and straightforward projects. But for large and more complex project management basecamp features, somewhat lacks & you should look for alternative tools.

### "Basecamp: Great Management Tool Even for Blind and Visually Impaired!"

November 6, 2022

4.0

Basecamp keeps me on track and it is great even in day-to-day usage. You don't have to have a large business to enjoy it. It keeps me on track of what I need to do whether it will be for work or studies. But most of all, its accessibility to screen readers is what I love the most.

Pros

What I like most about Basecamp is its screen reader accessibility.

Cons

I only wish that I can upload larger files or more files.

### "Basecamp is the software to efficiently run small to massive production projects, from anywhere."

September 8, 2022

5.0

Without Basecamp, big projects can get so disorderly and out of control. Now reminders are sent out just to remind you to send out the schedules or reports...hahaha. very cool. Makes my life so much easier.

Pros

The level of ease it takes to coordinate multi level projects by providing you with all the tools needed to do it.

Cons

So far i'm pretty impressed but I haven't even got access to management level options so I am not sure how much deeper it goes. Soon I'll know.. hopefully.

### "Good For Everyday - Work or Life"

April 17, 2020

4.0

I use Basecamp daily. This is where I plug in all of my projects. I assign to-dos for myself and others to ensure we are always on task and moving forward. If delays happen, we can communicate it all within the app.

Pros

Basecamp makes it easy for groups of people to come together and easily divide up a project. Organizing is easy with the different groups that you can add. You can color-code your groups to make it easier as well. There is a place for the whole team to talk within projects, a place to send in emails so nothing is lost, and a docs and files section. Everything is accessible to everyone with access.

Cons

When transferring over a previous project to a new year, I wish there were a way to transfer over all of the data fresh. For example, if there is an event you do every year, I wish the software made it so you can transfer all to-dos, the people on the to-dos, and the dates from the previous year for reference. Right now, you can only transfer the to-dos. With an update, it could save you more time.

### "Great project managment software, gets limited in longer term projects"

March 21, 2018

4.0

Great value, multiple applications

Pros

Love the ease of use-- and apply it across various disciplines for both professional and business projects. The filtering of user types is especially helpful when working with outside clients on one off projects. For my 'day job' in a corporate setting, use it to launch and manage new initiatives, great to keep track of complex needs and milestones. However, have found that it can also be applied very effectively as community/employee communication tool as well, a non standard use case, but with their payment model I have been able to easily add new projects. Essentially for a personal business in the services industry with a small number of employees, I use it as a dashboard of sorts. Each employee is their own 'project' and I am able to upload documents and reviews, and have a running archive of conversations and feedback-- so there are multiple applications to how to utilize.

Cons

The calendaring portion is a bit clumsy from a UX standpoint, and the export and integration options with other traditional calendars on cloud and desktops are not as seamless as they could be. Also, for short term launches and projects its great, however, for long term project managment the folder-ing and organizational options can get cluttered. The search feature does work well though.

### "Project Management at its Finest"

February 22, 2022

Overall I wish I could use it every day and I believe it is THE BEST project management software out there but unfortunately we are just unable to afford the monthly pricing.

Pros

The UI is just about perfect. It's easy to navigate and easy to train others on our team to use.

Cons

The price. It simply costs too much when we added the amount of users we wanted to be able to use it.

### "One of the best tools in this "

December 4, 2023

5.0

I have been using Basecamp for more than ten years, I think I can speak with authority. I discovered working for AAA gaming companies as a creative producer as well as a project manager. This is the definitive Project Management tool, It's super easy to use, it includes the basic features, integrates perfectly with mails and servers, and allows to record and track a lot of detail on any project workflow: users, task, micro tasks, dates, process, reviews and a large plus.

Pros

Basecamp is a CLASSIC. One of the best project management tools out there. The interface is clean and the capabilities are improving every update. Highly recommended for multiple tasks inside a same team project.

Cons

It lacks a powerfull video/image tool editor that could be helpful to add notes on a production flow.

### "Easy way the Basecamp Way"

November 11, 2020

4.0

Overall it was a good experience. the user also needs to change the mindset in order to use basecamp as it is one of its kind. people might drift away with time. Other apps like slack might help you with quick communications. Overall the pros cons depend on usage and company size.

Pros

working in huge teams and managing tickets is always a big challenge also pulling people every time to get the status. Managing multiple projects made easier with the categorization of projects. features like chat, todo list groups file sharing helps a lot to get the job done.

Cons

With all the features in hand, Basecamp provides very little customizations like the company logo, etc. Kind of limit the work process when it comes to larger organizations with custom workflows.

### "Using Basecamp helps me feel "on top of it" and connected to the other team players in the company. "

March 9, 2018

5.0

goal setting, organizing information, communication, connection, team spirit, support, training

Pros

I have suggested Basecamp to others because of the organization, company spirit connection and communication it fosters. The main features we use on Basecamp are the Message Board, ping, Docs and Files. Message Board allows you to keep themes organized so everyone can be on the same page together and chime in with their opinions and questions, and even enthusiasm. You can upload files here which is super helpful. The applause feature adds to connection and community. The ping feature is awesome. It keeps a running list of the communication you've had with others. You can choose to ping one or more people. In ping you can also upload files. The automated subject line gives you faster response time than regular emails. With Docs and Files we can upload and store schedules, scripts, recordings, etc. You can sort by name or date created and everything is in front of you.

Cons

Maybe it's just me, but the Docs and Files section can be confusing because everything is there and you do have to look around for what you want. You can use the "find" feature to get at things more quickly but you need to know the keywords. It really needs some management. Basecamp is so effective at bolstering company spirit that during our launches I get notifications all day long. You can turn off the notification feature, but I actually love hearing what other people say and it keeps me engaged. I guess I will have to prioritize how I use my time!

### "Add more custimization! "

October 10, 2017

4.0

Pros

Low Price: This is one of the most affordable project management solutions available, especially considering how well it functions. Upfront Pricing System: There are no hidden fees with Basecamp 3 no cancellation penalties, no per-user costs, nothing unexpected. Almost universally, people rave about how above-board and upfront the pricing system is. Intuitive Design: Basecamp 3 is eminently user-friendly. The functions are simple and elegant, and no time or space is wasted on unnecessary material or over complicated features. Most people want to perform normal tasks without the necessity of an advanced degree in computer science; Basecamp 3 is using technology that is also accessible to the layperson. Smooth Function: Project management in Basecamp 3 has been condensed to a precise science, and the software functions reliably with little to no bugs or glitches.

Cons

Limited Feature Set: Basecamp 3 has been distilled into a high functioning task management tool, but it doesn't do a whole lot more than task management. Many customers wish there were more reporting, budgeting, and accounting features. As I tested it, I definitely noticed there were several features common to other programs, such as Smartsheet and Teamwork, that simply do not exist in Basecamp 3. These include methods for measuring productivity and some more advanced scheduling capabilities. Non-Customizable: Unlike similar software programs, Basecamp 3 does not allow you to personalize your account by changing color schemes or inserting your company logo. No Built-In Time Tracking: Lack of time tracking is one of the biggest criticisms I can think of for Basecamp 3. Most other project management programs offer a service like this, but it is nowhere to be found in Basecamp. If time-tracking is one of your needs, you may need to look somewhere else.

### "Best Bang for the Buck"

February 3, 2021

5.0

Our team has been better at communicating with one another and collaborating on ideas. It has connected the team and made it easier to know what everyone is working on without it feeling like big brother is watching what you do.

Pros

I love how I pay a yearly fee and I can have unlimited users, projects, files, due dates, etc. We looked into other software and no one could match the ease of use and affordability for a city government on a budget. I love how you can search by keyword and find what you need, I love the chatting option between employees and I love how you can create projects and assignments with ease.

Cons

I wish you could integrate your google calendar with this software.

### "Basic Project Managing Tool"

December 12, 2020

4.0

It’s a nice way to keep a myriad of projects organized but I wish it would fix a few irksome things.

Pros

It’s pretty simple and allows for easy project management. It meets the needs of our company for all the projects we have. You can share files, post links, post comments, make new threads, etc. Has a great search bar.

Cons

I wish you could reply to posts instead of making a new post to a thread. I also wish there was a scroll to top or scroll to bottom option. I also wish the name of a thread would be frozen on a screen so you didn’t have to scroll all the way up to find the project name. I would suggest making posts on a thread collapsible by date period since most recent posts are most important.

My overall experience was super. It help me lots during Work From Home. It was very easy for me to manage my team remotely. Communication with team was very easy.

Pros
