### "Basecamp- The go-to communications solutions"

October 4, 2022

4.0

To sum it all up, Basecamp has made life easy by providing us the option to seamlessly communicate with other team members and to organize different tasks and bring the team together on different topics.

Pros

Ease of use and how easy it makes communicating with the coworkers and how it helps everyone connect.

Cons

Ah! The continuous ping if you get tagged in some post and the comments. Is distracting sometimes.

### "An all-in-one Project Management Solution"

January 24, 2022

5.0

Overall, I've had a great experience with Basecamp. The software more than makes up for its undesirable layout/appearance with many features that make it easy to streamline project management.

Pros

My favorite part about Basecamp is that it is a feature-rich management tool that makes it very easy to stay on top of projects and organized with tasks. It has a solid notification system and makes it easy to look at everything going on with a project from the top level on down.

Cons

My least favorite part about this software is the display. The software isn't nearly as clean as many of the other available project management tools on the market.

### "Has made our office much more productive and efficient! "

November 23, 2018

5.0

Prior to Basecamp there were far more meetings, a lack of organization, and no centralized place to document projects' progress. Now we have almost no meetings (yay!) and are far more productive.

Pros

All communications, tasks, and information regarding a project is kept in one place to both easily review and understand where the project's progress is currently, as well as to be able to review later on. It's ideal for multiple projects happening with varying timelines.

Cons

One thing that I've wanted for years is a dependencies option. The way our projects work, there is a process for when one task is completed, the next task should be assigned to the relevant person. Basecamp would be perfect if this process was automated via dependencies. For a while they've promised a Slack integration, but no progress on that front yet. They did finally allow for assigning a project to multiple people/managing collaborative efforts but there still isn't an option for prioritizing To Do's.

### "I like it but still learning to navigate"

December 8, 2019

4.0

It's a very helpful tool for staying connected with people outside of my organization that are overseeing and managing the same type of grant as me. It is truly helping to build/maintain a community of people that I don't know personally or work with directly / regularly but need to be in a network with. It helps me feel I'm not missing information I should be aware of and am up to date and in touch at the level I need to be in terms of professional accountability.

Pros

In my job, Basecamp is used as a platform for information and communication to be disseminated, shared resources to be stored, and deliverables to be submitted. There is a forum / chat feature where different members of the group (which consists of numerous grant programs around my state and the commission that we report to) can post to share information, ask questions, respond to questions, etc. I like that it's a tool outside of email that can be used professionally by many different people who don't work together directly but are connected in terms of the types of programs we oversee and implement. There are settings that allow users to choose what notifications to receive by email (for example, receiving an email for every post, receiving a daily digest, and choosing whether you want to receive these notifications only during your work hours). In terms of resource sharing/storage, it fuctions a bit like a fileshare or "shared drive" but for people who don't all work in the same organization. Because the commission we report to use Basecamp extensively to communicate with programs, I like knowing that I can go there to find the most up to date versions of documents, policies, etc. rather than having to rely on finding the most recent email in which an update was shared. I also like the use of uploading documents I'm required to submit.

Cons

I've been using Basecamp for 4-5 months and there is still a lot about it I'm gradually learning to navigate. I've recently asked for more training on its features. I feel that the more I use it the more it will come to feel familiar and user-friendly.

### "Couldn't Live Without It!"

August 11, 2020

5.0

I Love Love Love basecamp! Email doesn't work with creative people. They crash topics, then you can never go back & find what was said. With basecamp, you can organize and sort. It has fundamentally changed the way we communicate with our staff & parents.

Pros

No idea where to start! We are a performing arts center & school. We run everything through Basecamp. I could not do without it! Just an example. We do large musical theatre performances. We run the entire show through Basecamp. Scheduling. Disseminating information to cast & crew. Distribute graphics and assets. The campfire is a place where our cast can get to know one another. This year we are creating a back office resource setup for our difference types of students - voice, piano, theatre, dance, etc. They can find materials and resources to support what they are learning.

Cons

Some areas have a way to delete comments. Some areas do not. Since we're using it with parents, sometimes things get out of hand. There is no way for me to delete an inappropriate comment from a parent! That has caused issues.

### "Improvement in meeting the deadlines of projects and smooth in tracking of work progress."

February 4, 2021

5.0

The major benefit is to make it easy to manage a project for the whole team. Lesser the communication gap. Also, there will be a record of candidate performance.

Pros

Basecamp provides the idea of the estimate of the timeline of a project by mentioning the task list with the completion deadline. Every member is aware of the inputs they need to put in the project at the initial stage of the project, We are not missing the task while as we are managing it on basecamp.

Cons

Newly add people automatically added in previously created automatic check-in list.

### "My first love when it comes to project management software"

February 24, 2022

5.0

Pros

I used this software at my first agency and LOVED it. I feel like it was super intuitive and simple structured. I still think it's a very reasonably priced project management tool and have been considering it for a future project. Overall, it's great.

Cons

When it comes to a certain level of complication, I'm not sure it's the best product on the market at this point. There are competitors that do offer further functionality if you have really advanced projects going on.

### "It allows direct collaboration between colleagues through group and private chat."

May 7, 2020

5.0

Basecamp is a very effective and organizational collaboration platform, it provides our employees the possibility to better manage the projects they participate in and the daily tasks they perform, it allows them to share documents, attach daily updates and keep all the members of each work team informed and connected, in times like these when remote work is the most used being coordinated through a collaboration and project management platform is very important.

Pros

It helps me to manage many projects effectively, offers an alternative to control how other sectors of the company work, allows direct collaboration between colleagues through group and private chat, integrates very well with other platforms such as Excel, Word and Google tools which accelerates and optimizes the flow of information that circulates between colleagues, I have used more than 1 year Basecamp and I find the best platform for organization, management and updating of projects, has an attractive and simple interface that makes it more enjoyable to use.

Cons

It is something complex when you just start using it, you must train yourself and your staff to use it correctly and get the best performance from this tool.

### "Best Project Management Software Out There!"

April 11, 2019

5.0

Overall I have had an overwhelmingly positive experience with Basecamp and can see myself continuing to use it in the future.

Pros

I love Basecamp for it's simplicity and ease of use. I have used Basecamp for over a year now and even after leaving my position with my previous company, I continue to use it for my personal use. You receive a daily digest in your email of all of the activities that have happened on the previous day. This made it easy to pickup where I left off and see what work had been done by my coworkers so we could work together efficiently. I also used Basecamp to interact with clients and setting them up was never an issue. The only problem they had was getting to the site, and everything following was easy as pie! Basecamp has never crashed on me and continues to be one of my favorite tools to use to keep track of important projects.

Cons

Nothing, I can honestly say there is nothing about it that I don't like. I will say the design is not the most attractive but that is something that should be the least of the users priorities unless they want to impress their clients with aesthetics.

### "Basecamp keeps us organized."

November 2, 2023

5.0

I had no problem adjusting to Basecamp's interface. It's very east to use and direct. We get notifications on every project which is very helpful and we are not limited to our projects. We can set it up for administrative needs, Training modules, Etc.

Pros

It's very easy to use and friendly for first-time users. There is no complicated process and the interface is very simple. You can be proficient with basecamp after a week's use and will be your daily driver.

Cons

There is no feature wherein you can see the progress of a project real-time. You have to check each project individually so Basecamp can be for most companies but not all.

### "Efficient and uncomplicated"

July 14, 2019

4.0

I used Basecamp mainly to communicate with clients and give updates on monthly recurring tasks. I made lists per month/quarter for simple tasks and discussions (or some file sharing). Lightweight use, lightweight tool. Perfect fit.

Pros

If you want an uncomplicated, efficient and to the point tasking tool Basecamp is an recommendation. Especially good to communicate simple tasks with clients and share documents on one spot. - It's fast (which really helps saving time on task management and gives you time to do the task) - It's easy (even clients get it) - Does what it should do (and nothing more)

Cons

\- It is simple, which is also a con. But once you are starting a bigger project or are working with several persons on several tasks, things tend to get chaotic. There is no good visual way to link tasks or track progression. Basecamp is a tool you can definitly outgrow, but until you do it works.

### "Collaboration with Continuity"

October 3, 2016

5.0

Our organization is a non-profit organization serving around 4,700 kids and their families yearly - special fundraising events are counted on to close the funding gap - in fact it's over 10% of our revenue generation. These events have always been labor intensive requiring extra staffing just to keep track of all the planning and details required to make it a success. When we adopted basecamp we were all extremely skeptical - and we planned on having four temps on hand for the final three days, to pickup merchandise, wrap, package and stage the items we would be auctioning off. About four days out we were completely done! We didn't even need the extra help. The ability to collaborate with so many persons despite significant geographical separation, while retaining continuity is just not easy. Not only can the hand not see the foot but it doesn't know how many feet it has to call on - BaseCamp changes everything - we couldn't have been more pleased! Assigning due dates which can be made visible to all - prompted action - people didn't want to seem to be behind schedule (everyone would know). The work got done early. The multiple assignee feature worked like a dispatcher and then next available person got the next available task. And all this was visible to everyone on the team - so if any conflicts arose, you could get on the phone early or what we did most of the time was open a group chat because many times someone on the chat would be local to the problem and able to help more quickly. Growing every year, we would not be able to go back. Works like a charm and I would personally recommend this to any organization for profit or not who wants to track an event to a successful conclusion. Remarkable!

Pros

The visibility into everyone's business - it actually motivates participants to be timely (a huge factor in project collaboration) because everyone can see who is late.

Cons

Lots of emails (which you can adjust I know) but if you want to have everything reported to you - there is no way to get around email notifications.

### "Complete solution for project management and team communication."

January 16, 2023

5.0

Pros

This is the software that I can say is 100% useful in communication and task or time management as we can make the team and add ourselves only to create a specific check-in. These check-ins are really helping me in my task as well as time management. We can also make different projects that we are working on and can get real-time updates from people on campfires. The campfire is really helpful to keep the team that added to the project in the same loop. There another very good feature that I just love is that we have message boards on which we can make announcements of any good or any information announcements there. The best thing is that there is also a find option we have any document of any chat or anything we want real quick we can search it. It makes make document sharing very easy.

Cons

There isn't much that I don't like about this tool but one thing that annoys me is the notifications. So many times It doesn't notify me when someone gives me a ping. When I am using the browser view this happen most of the time. Also, this supports really basic projects only.

### "Make simplicity your best tool"

March 29, 2018

4.0

Have at hand a tool for project management that is easy to use and learn, that allows me to use the basic functionalities when managing straight to the point

Pros

Currently, project managers have become very necessary tools in the software industry, practically impresindible for good development practices, but the best known in the market have also become too complex, full of tools and functions that do not we got to know in the short or medium term, but here where Basecamp shines, has the basic tools for good management and that's it, it does it great and smart, it gives you what is necessary for good management, its main attraction , manage your projects easily and easily with the organization of teams, task list, file exchange and internal messaging, with this you will have an application that you can use quickly and will be easy to learn for new workers.

Cons

Weaknesses are found in all applications but this has several to point to, as any participant with access to the project can delete the lists of tasks, this must be corrected, to avoid loss of work, we must define well the roles of each participant.

### "Nice communication tool, maybe limited in certain features"

December 16, 2020

4.0

As an agency we have projects in BaseCamp for all of our clients: communication is much better on a common platform rather than through emails.

Pros

Great for communication among teams and stakeholders: you can create projects (and manage users access and roles in projects) and threads inside projects and easily communicate with people external to your organization in a seamless way. The interface is very intuitive and neat, it's a pleasure to work on it. Email notifications to project members is another very appreciated feature!

Cons

It has limited features. File sharing (with quotas depending on the plan you subscribe) is not as powerful as in other tools meant for that (such as Google Drive or DropBox). Other project management features (like progress tracking) are not so intuitive nor very useful.

### "Basecamp is great for Work Projects"

October 16, 2018

5.0

We solved internal and external communication with Basecamp. Our clients could talk to us in a more professional way. And, internally, we didn't depend on one employee to have everthing organized.

Pros

I dig in when we start talking about Project Management and how that could be easier for work environments. Basecamp allowed me and my team to make that faster and centralized in my last company. It is super easy to use and for keep track of everything important. But, the best part for me is: when someone leaves your company, you don't lose all the information with him/her also, when someone new comes in, you don't have to forward hundreds of emails to let them know who said what when. and, for the last part: conversations are deeper because people tend to be too simplistic in WhatsApp and such.

Cons

Nothing that was too severe to tell here. But I believe Basecamp could have more video guides to show us video cases on how people use it. Asana does that pretty well

### "Get Basecamp to help your creative team collaborate more easily"

November 12, 2021

4.0

Overall, Basecamp is a solid solution for larger creative teams. While it is pricey, it is a great route for those looking for collaboration with lots of fellow creatives, versus a viable solution for smaller teams.

Pros

Basecamp is a fairly simple platform that immediately makes collaboration on various creative projects much simpler. It's simple and easy to manage, as well as collaborate with outside users like clients.

Cons

Its simplicity is sometimes a downfall. Basecamp is a great solution for a lot of things but sometimes it doesn't allow you to create very robust solutions to teamwork needs. Also, it is a bit dated in comparison to other project management options. It is also relatively pricey.

### "Simplicity is their best weapon"

March 14, 2018

4.0

When you need an application for project management that is fast and accurate, where you get the benefits quickly, without having to walk through endless functionalities which you will not use.

Pros

As for project management tools, the simplicity of this is your best weapon, since in the market there are many powerful tools with many functionalities but due to this the learning curve becomes very high, instead this tool goes straight to the point, has the necessary tools for good management, assignment of tasks, monitoring, organization in a precise and efficient way, perfect for quick projects where you need time to be your best ally, or to start using or implementing this type of tools in your work team.

Cons

As simplicity is their best virtue is also the biggest weakness, when you need more tools or functionality the application is a little short, if your project requires a range of more complete tools, basecamp is cut and you will need another application.

### "Very good easy solution for task management and project management for everyone who wants it"

October 19, 2020

4.0

We can say that the different modules allow our lab to choose what we want in LIMS. At the time we thought it was a strong selling point. On-site implementation and training also reinforced that we made a good decision. Boot Camp training courses also provided a wealth of knowledge and I highly recommend anyone using Sample Master to attend.

Pros

Samples schedule and task manager for our laboratory are provided much time. The main inquiry will allow easy access to data for operational and engineering personnel in our facility everywhere. Perform parser integration from lab hardware to eliminate transcription errors and improve maintenance and quality assurance of control schemes and quality control

Cons

The program depends on Microsoft Access, so additional precautions must be taken to secure the database

### "A great 'base camp' to keep the whole team on track"

November 14, 2017

5.0

Using basecamp was a positive move for many of the small to medium sized businesses I worked for. It was an ideal place to keep everything related to specific projects in one place. It allowed a space for discussions relating to different projects within the business. It was very useful in my role as a designer to be able to read over project briefs, and was a useful place for all information regarding a project to be kept in one place.

Pros

Basecamp has been a brilliant tool for many of the previous companies I have worked for. These were small to medium sized businesses. With the option to have different discussions and threads it keeps the whole team up to date with a project, as well as the option to keep clients up to date on the project too. It allows you to keep separate discussions regarding different areas of the project, as well as the option to schedule tasks, create to do lists, and a place to add documents and files. It's been a great tool, which has replaced many of the other systems that were being used in the business. Everything is in one place, allowing for an efficient way of working. The software was easy to use too, which meant new starters and clients who weren't fluent with basecamp could quite easily pick it up with no problems.

Cons

The cons are probably more about the things it doesn't do. There's not a straight forward way to track the time management of a project.
