### "Great Management and tracking software"

August 25, 2018

4.0

No doubt it's a powerful and a very useful software for firms to manage projects and the members but it needs a little up gradation in some of its features for which we now have to use third party soft wares. Some features should be automatically available which have to be mined down for now. It's a total value for your money but some addition will make it a great one place management software.

Pros

Its a very powerful and interactive software, which helps to manage multiple projects at a particular time. Automation for regular check ins is a great tracker for member performance, information sharing is also made easy with its user friendly interface. Project classification is another advantage and you have all the details of a single project or client at one place. Moreover, you can have efficient discussions and regular updates about the projects to the people concerned.

Cons

Customization of the user interface is an important feature, which the software lacks. Addition of company logo is also not available. There are limited features, for example there is nothing for budgeting, analysis and time tracking. Mail list customization should be an options because there are times when i want only some people to be notified and also want to reply back to only certain.

Basecamp has permitted us to run extends the correct path for our showcasing office. We can arrange on inside items, set To-Do assignments, and transfer/house records in the cloud. We can likewise add customers to explicit activities, so they can be advised through Basecamp. They can even leap in and remark/transfer records depending on the situation. This permits us to stay focused and ensure nothing becomes lost despite any effort to the contrary. The cost is steep, however we're paying for a top notch item that keeps everybody on task. We're settling inward correspondence, task, and venture following difficulties. We're additionally ready to follow all customer correspondences (rather than depending on a surge of messages becoming mixed up in the mix.) This assists us with ensuring nothing escapes everyone's notice. Accordingly we've expanded usefulness and had the option to take on an abundance of activities

### "Basecamp - great for coaching, teaching purposes"

November 15, 2023

Pros

The ease of use, being able to respond to a particular part in a document, there is no confusion about any changes needed to be made, as it makes it very clear to respond.

Cons

The way I use basecamp, it does everything I need it it for my purpose, so at this time there is nothing I didn't like or would want to add.

### "Simplifies Project Management"

February 3, 2022

4.0

Overall, this is a great product and it's brought our team closer over the last couple of years. We are excited to keep using it but would love to see reporting added to truly make the most out of this.

Pros

I love how easy to use this product truly is. Not only has it made it easier to manage our team of 20+ people, it serves as a centralized location for us to do pretty much everything we need: chat functionality, file sharing, progress tracking, etc.. The user interface is simple, and I love the task management component. By being able to assign tasks and add deadlines, we are able to eliminate any confusion caused due to miscommunication. For the price, you can't beat it!

Cons

The are only two complaints I have about Basecamp. The first and main issue is that there is no reporting capability so we have to manage that separately. Project management and reporting go hand in hand so it feels like an oversight that this wasn't included. The second issue is that app integration can be pricey and it's not always a perfect integration. The main issue is definitely the lack of reporting - if that was included, it would significantly reduce the amount of time I waste on manual work.

### "Basecamp has been very effective in helping our firm manage and communicate with clients."

June 14, 2018

5.0

\- Easy managing of multiple projects - Quick way to drill down who is working on what - Storage of all files sorted by project - Easy communication internally and with clients

Pros

It is very easy to use. Most of our clients are not that tech savvy beyond the usual email and office products, but we have never received any complaint about Basecamp... Not even a request to walk one through. That I believe is Basecamp's major strength.

Cons

The error message if you are late on a payment. It happens that sometimes cash flow for a startup isn't timely. Basecamp will keep all the data and allow you to pay to reactivate the service. However, the public facing error message when any user tries to access is something along the lines of "This account has been suspended. Kindly tell ADMINISTARTOR'S NAME to make the payment as soon as possible. That can be very embarrassing when a client calls you about the same.

### "Part Every Campaign Manager's Essential Toolkit"

December 3, 2022

4.0

Pros

Running campaign requires CMs to coordinate, orchestrate and manage resource gathering. While remote work has challenged a lot of organisations to maintain a collaborative environment, tasks can get overrun or duplicated when projects do not reside in a team-accessible, collated "folder". Basecamp takes care of that headache while keeping everyone up-to-speed on all project updates and newly produced resources/collaterals.

Cons

The mobile app could use a more intuitive and faster UI.

### "Great platform very useful, to encourage employees to work together."

June 11, 2018

4.0

Pros

This cloud-based software is easy to navigate and allows multiple team members to see, edit, contribute and stay updated on project status. The My Assignments list is an extremely useful way to follow tasks; being able to sort by date makes it easier to prioritize the workload. The functionality of the message board is useful and allows open elements to communicate effectively. For someone who is new to a project, it was a useful place to start, in general, the user interface is easy to use. Low cost of operational maintenance because there are practically no system administrator requirements.

Cons

Basecamp has very useful reports, but if you want to show or export analytical and technical readings about the status of the project, Basecamp is not that. For me, this is not negative, but I usually like to focus on completing the project instead of managing it.

### "Better than Asana?"

October 11, 2020

4.0

I love it! If you're managing a team and you want a simple, easy-to-use, program-use Basecamp!

Pros

Basecamp is great for managing and reviewing multiple projects and their current status. It's very user-friendly and I've found that Basecamp's functions are fairly self-explanatory. I can't think of one time in the past four years in which I needed to perform an internet search in order to understand or use one of Basecamp's functions.

Cons

I felt that Asana did a better job of reviewing individual tasks, and made one-to-one feedback seamless. However, Basecamp is more user-friendly.

### "Easy to use, clean interface, and feature-packed for the price."

July 2, 2018

5.0

Ease of use, and easier collaboration with the team saves us a lot of time and maximizes everyone's efficiency.

Pros

I've been using Basecamp for about 6 years now, and I love it. It's clean, it's minimalistic, and it's very easy to use, even for people who are not so tech-savvy. Everything you need for project management is in there, such as separate boxes for chat (campfire), documents and files, assignments, etc. This makes everything super organized and and super easy to look for things when you need them. I also love that it's really fuss-free, and clean. Easy on the eyes, and you don't see a lot of things you don't really need on there. It's very straightforward.

Cons

The only thing that I don't like is that it's not really in the affordable category, but you do get your money's worth. I just wish they had a cheaper option . They used to have a pricing tier versus a one set price now.

### "A revelation"

January 21, 2021

5.0

We were having difficulty seeing where time was being allocated efficiently on the various projects going on. It was a huge learning curve for all to become accountable to maintaining project-tracking, reviewing and updating. It has eventually become an important part of moving along projects that otherwise might have easily been neglected or procrastinated.

Pros

This was the first collaborative software I had used, and I found it a revelation to discover its' efficiencies. We had been looking at project management software and tried one or two others. Our marketing consultant brought us onboard with Basecamp, and because it was part of their culture, we needed to get onboard to communicate with them. It was quick and easy to get started, first as users, and then as project creators.

Cons

As a non-linear thinker, the format for tracking progress, side-bars and semi-related issues sometimes was not well reflected on our Basecamp project pages. Because it wasn't part of our daily culture, sometimes we used it in spurts making it impossible to relfect the continuity of projects. In order to get the best out of Basecamp, all team members must be invested in the process.

### "A decent starter, but I wouldn't stick with it"

February 14, 2019

5.0

For the 3 years that I used it, I enjoyed it. There were some things that it lacked but was easy to get over by work-arounds. The company is old enough that it should really try to start making things more robust, but for what it is it works.

Pros

Basecamp is a great software if you're just starting out. Lots of features, good notifications, and the ease of opening up a new project is brilliantly simple. I know when it comes to administrators things are fairly straight-forward so from a behind-the-scenes perspective it has a lot going for it.

Cons

Once a company gets too big and there are many people working on projects together it gets a bit more difficult. The one feature that it could use would be to assign multiple people to a project. If I am working on the design of a project, while a copywriter is giving copy, and a photographer is adding his work...you need 3 separate projects. This never made much sense to me.

### "Wonderful, intuitive, wysiwyg software! "

March 26, 2020

4.0

Overall, this has helped to keep my experience focused on the tools I need to complete my work in a timely manner. Alerts, task check ins, scheduling, and easy team creation allows for a productive environment.

Pros

Basecamp provides a user experience that allows for significant ease of use, allowing for much more time spent on work rather than program adjustment.

Cons

Notifications can be inconsistent, and not always received in a timely manner. But this can be a minor problem for daily use, which is predominantly how I use the software. Distance or periodic users may want to look into this further.

### "Basecamp Review"

March 15, 2019

5.0

Pros

I like the easy OOTB configuration and assistance received when setting up in the cloud. For the most part, all of the features required for end users is readily available from the main screen. You start with what is most important, teams/groups and your thumbnails of projects. The top banner show notifications for chat & message board, your activity across the board, everything you are involved in (my stuff), a global search or filtered, and admin tools if you fit the role. Everything to collaborate on a project of any size is available in Basecamp. Excellent bang for buck compared to enterprise solutions. Mobile side is impressive with almost 100% of features for basic collaboration.

Cons

I honestly do not like the cute an bubbly look and feel of Basecamp, I was more of a fan of the previous version of "get the job done, all business" approach. However, this is personal preference and Basecamp developers do enjoy having some fun with a similar approach to social media app naming conventions. I would have appreciated some charting, roadmapping, time capture and reporting but that is not what Basecamp is focused on. However, visiting the Basecamp Extras page opened a new set of possibilities.

### "Base Camp Review"

December 28, 2020

5.0

My overall experience with Basecamp is a good one because it does allow us to keep in touch, allow for ideals to be asked for, and gives us and opportunity to get updates on many of our ongoing task/projects. The interface to use it is very easy to use almost like a message board and it allows us to follow comments and updates throughout the transaction we do in basecamp.

Pros

I use this software on a daily basis. I am able to login and see what has been happening over night with a project or task for the project. I am also able to answer others questions about the task. Discuss meeting times and meetings. Get updates from others about other departmental task/projects. I also use this to update on my own task to see what other ideas I may get from others. I find all of this benifical.

Cons

Basecamp's only set back form me is to be more detail oriented in the project management such as budgeting, accounting, and more speciific highlights of a project that can be kept on an ongoing basis. This information would have to be accessed some place else.

### "Great project management tool"

February 12, 2021

5.0

I've used for many projects and initiatives over the years at different companies. It's a great tool that many have adopted and each vendor that has used it, has a slightly different way their team uses it - but in every case, it's a seamless adoption!

Pros

Basecamp is a fantastic tool for managing projects, with topics, tickets, threads and file management. The search functionality makes it easy to seek out information from earlier in the project and it allows you to easily collaborate, with history, so everyone remains accountable. I also like replying to the email and having it post. makes it very easy for quick and efficient communication

Cons

If you reply via email on a thread, then edit it on the web, then the distro doesnt know you made revisions unless they too went on the web. it's to be expected but a pitfall to be mindful of. Also, you're not made aware of a conversation being archived by someone else.

### "Straightforward Project Management Without the Bells and Whistles"

August 4, 2022

4.0

Pros

The software is extremely easy to use and requires almost no time onboarding. It has some customization options but that relies on administrators to set team, projects and permissions up correctly from the outset. It is much more affordable than any paid project management software on the market and it integrates with the tools we use most.

Cons

The features that are available in most project management software are not available in Basecamp which is kind of the point of the software. For example, there are no kanban boards and project timelines are convoluted. Additionally, our admins probably did not set the software up correctly at the outset which resulted in hundreds of projects getting created which makes it extremely difficult to keep track of what is and is not important. It also doesn't integrate with as many tools as some other leading project management services on the market.

### "One of the essential tools for small and medium teams"

February 23, 2022

5.0

Pros

Ease of use, really intuitive. Wide range of features, fun to use.

Cons

Personally, I think the tool lacks calendar, which would remove the need for another tool such as Google Calendar etc. The mobile app is great, but I keep using Basecamp in the browser instead of the desktop version on my computer - browser seems to be faster. Also, there is no dark mode!

### "Basecamp Review"

April 2, 2020

5.0

Overall, this is the most easy to understand and easy to navigate project CRM tool that I have used.

Pros

I think the system is very user-friendly. If someone was new to it, it wouldn't take much time for them to catch onto how to create and assign out tasks and task lists.

Cons

Using it as a daily task organizer only worked for select departments who had ALL tasks housed within the system. For departments that had additional tasks (client phone calls etc.) keeping up with daily tasks/keeping all teams up-to-date within the system was difficult. You can only view one persons task list at a time to see what they have overdue, what is on deck for the day and what tasks are upcoming. If you have multiple team members on the project there is no easy way to see a quick overview of where everything stands aside from looking the actual project folder.

### "Awesome Team & Project Management Software"

June 23, 2019

5.0

I am using this software from the last 4 years. I worked on this software in my previous company and now currently using in the current organization too. So, my overall experience with this software is amazing. I use this software for client handling and team management. We can create projects, upload unlimited documents and can access from anywhere using the internet. Easy to use and easy to learn, not require any training for the basecamp. If you are an entrepreneur or running a big organization, Basecamp will be the best project & team management software for you.

Pros

We can create separate multiple projects lists and assigned the projects to any team members & clients too. Easy to use and can navigate from any location. To-dos is the best feature, where we can assign a task for projects and basecamp remind us of the completion date of the task. We can upload unlimited files and format doesn't matter. All file formats acceptable. The best feature is overdue to-dos & upcoming dates, where we can track our assigned project's task. Best platform for communication with team members through ping feature individually & in the group.

Cons

Quite honestly, nothing more I dislike in this software. Only, Little bit issue with uploading the files. Need to add more graphical features in project lists and we can not install Version Basecamp 3 in an old smartphone.

### "Easy to Collaborate"

September 23, 2022

Overall, It was very pleasing to work. File sharing is very easy. Communication was very fast and most important we can work with all the clients without revealing our identity. Privacy and personal life is important.

Pros

I used this tool when I was working for a USA based client for their blogs, articles, and other content requirements. I created a team and I was able to directly share all the important documents and client can see that an provide us the instant response. The workflow was very smooth here.

Cons

Each coins has two side. I don't call it cons but sometime there was some errors on running couple of features. The team should be more proactive to remove the bugs.

### "Great for Teams, Agencies and Solo List-lovers :)"

July 25, 2019

5.0

Pros

Allows semi-public sharing for getting approvals on things from clients without giving them full access to my team's notes and daily task lists. Can give access to specific employees, staff, or clients as well as differentiate which accounts and client's stuff they can access as well. Very well thought out product, not as visually distracting as many others (which may not matter to most people but was a big deciding factor to me)

Cons

Takes a while for me to get client's and employees to fall in love with it. Not sure why. Once they do, they like it a lot though.

### "Use Basecamp Effectively and You'll Find a Way to Use it for Everything"

May 6, 2019

5.0

This is just an outstanding project management platform that can be as technical or as non-technical (even within the same project) as you need it to be. The storage included makes keeping track of documents and decisions a breeze.

Pros

I keep coming back to Basecamp again and again because it seems to be the only platform that can assist in managing projects no matter the discipline. The communication flows within the system are outstanding and the creators give multiple examples of how they've found things work best. Tasks can be broken down into subtasks and documents attached thereto so that entire projects stay collaborative but organized. Pricing is reasonable, even for the smallest of organizations that want to get things done efficiently.

Cons

Occasionally it can be difficult to determine where certain kinds of communication (especially once clients are in on the project) fit within workflows.

### "Best for Project Management! "

November 6, 2018

5.0

Pros

Basecamp is a collaboration program where the organization's members and external vendors/suppliers can communicate with each other, it makes a lot of tasks very easy, there is an integrated communication system which saves a lot of time rather than spending time in meetings. There are several benefits of using Basecamp, it does not only save time, but it is also a great way of promoting success which can help motivate the entire team and achieving big milestones. The cost is another important factor Basecamp is not a very expensive especially if you compare it with the benefits it offers and before buying you can use a trial version which helps make the decision whether its worth it or not. It provides more transparency when you are working with third party vendors/suppliers making prompt decisions and quick response

Cons

The major disadvantage which I faced is lack of features, for example, there is no integration with a more wide range of applications like Microsoft Office and other similar programs. I would like to see a built-in office suite in basecamp so I don’t have to work on other software and coming back to Basecamp and there are not many accounting related features. Another thing which I feel about basecamp is that every organization has its own communication channels and messaging apps. There are many other ways that members and vendors/suppliers can communicate, Why should a company buy basecamp? By providing better solutions like office suite better accounting features.
