### "Collaboration with Basecamp"

July 15, 2021

4.0

Pros

Basecamp help me and my team to collaborate better for our project and task managing. We can create a room space that only specific to certain department, and a common room that every department user can be added there.

Cons

It will be wonderful if Basecamp can expand the communication hub by adding a video call or voice call feature. It will make the communication between the user faster, and we can have more interactive communication instead of restricted to the text messenger.

### "A Must Have Tool for Client Collaboration and Project Management"

February 19, 2021

5.0

Pros

The Intuitive Layout and Simple but Comprehensive toolset is my favorite part of Basecamp. I use it every day to communicate ideas and share information with our clients. Our clients really love the system as well, they feel like they are part of our team when they collaborate with our design and development team.

Cons

I can't think of anything i would change.

### "Simple yet very effective platform"

October 14, 2018

4.0

Basecamp is a real deal when it comes to a project management with the team members and hundreds of tasks going on. Very intuitive and helpful platform indeed.

Pros

Basecamp is extremely useful when you work with the team on lots of different projects. We with a team are using it on a daily basis and it certainly helps us to keep the dozens of project flows to be carried out in a forward and organized manner. What's more, it's perfect tool to keep the team motivated and on track, while there are projects with lots of tasks in it with lots of stakeholders. The deadline settings are necessary thing. Overall, the user interface also makes the platform very user-friendly, even for the clients (who might be non-tech savvy people) who can also be in the system as a stakeholders. This platform certainly increases our effectiveness and at the same time - satisfaction of our clients.

Cons

The service is quite expensive for the small business. It sometimes makes us think to find an alternative (So far, we are very satisfied and staying with Basecamp). Would be good if there will be certain crafted plans for smaller organizations who can't afford spending much on platform.

### "A pretty Good Option (Once You get used to it)"

September 20, 2022

4.0

Pros

I like the versatility of spaces you can create. I also like the freedom to almost build out mini web pages with documents, videos, etc embedded. As I said elsewhere this product is somewhere In Between using a website builder and google drive.

Cons

I think the worst part of Basecamp is the usability right away. It was my experience and the shared experience of most of my team members that they strongly disliked the software for months. Around the 6 month mark it began to win us over.

### "Everything in one place!"

June 28, 2018

5.0

Project Management is made easy with Basecamp. It's a one-stop shop for our project communications, task management, and documentation. It is cloud-based, making the hassles of infra setup not our problem. We just had to focus on putting structure to our communication plan and folders system for our files.

Pros

Basecamp is our go-to repository and collab platform for Project Management. It houses our team communications, the dashboard for quick updates, documentation, task management. Collaboration is made simply even for project team members not housed within our physical site/office. We have partners from different countries and communication (new and archival) is a breeze. Third-party apps are also integrable. We sync it with our calendar, Google drive.

Cons

Since I use it primarily for Project Managment, it lacks the ability to put dependencies on one task to another (To-do lists).

### "Great Project Management Software for Growing Team"

April 20, 2021

5.0

It helped our growing team manage our internal projects better. We doubled in size in the last year and we need software that allows us to onboard and offboard employees quickly, scale up and scale down as need, and one place to store everything.

Pros

Basecamp is easy to set up and deploy. It allows us to manage our internal team, contractors, and clients. I like the ability to control who sees what. When using other software, a contractor accidentally gave our client full access to our folder. Luckily, I caught the error and corrected it. But Basecamp is easy to use and very user-friendly.

Cons

I wish there was a way we could actually create documents via the software or integrate with an app that does. Right now, Basecamp is serving as a content library and scheduler. It would be great if we could just insert content for written materials and such directly into the document.

Reason for choosing Basecamp

### "Love This Software but Wish It Had More Features"

September 1, 2018

5.0

Great product, great company, respect them a lot. Eagerly awaiting new feature releases!

Pros

I have been using basecamp for about 10 years and it is one of the most reliable and easy to use software I have ever used. It is great for small teams who value speed of execution over planning.

Cons

As our team size has grown our needs for a project management tool have grown. Basecamp lacks the necessary features to put together more complex project plans, work with ongoing retainers, and resource (employee) planning. To its credit, everything it does, it does extremely well and I don't think I have every been confused about how something works or had an issue with the software not working properly. I don't want to leave basecamp but now that the company size is approaching 100 people, the lack of feature is causing us to evaluate other solutions

### "Best Software for Team Communication"

June 23, 2023

5.0

Overall, my experience with Basecamp has been excellent.

Pros

Basecamp has truly transformed the way our team operates. The user-friendly interface and intuitive features make it easy for everyone.

Cons

One potential downside of Basecamp is its lack of advanced project management features compared to some other platforms.

### "An excellent option to manage your projects as a team"

March 6, 2018

4.0

When you need a fast and simple application that has a good price, basecamp is your answer, it is very easy to use, the learning curve is fast and it is highly functional for short / medium projects.

Pros

Before I used basecamp in my company, we tried other tools, but these were very large with many options that we did not use since we were a small team and the costs were very high for what we really needed, but we discovered basecamp and it was a help from heaven, excellent, versatile, fast, with the tools we needed and that covers our needs of a small group, since it is quick to use and you learn very fast, it is excellent, this is why you can use Basecamp when you go to realize projects of short or medium time of development.

Cons

The problem with basecamp is that if you want to develop large projects you may be a little short of tools or functionalities, since this application is a bit minimalist and has the essential, when you go into large-scale projects you may stay a little short in necessary functionalities.

Pros

Really useful platform that permits to share everything with clients, really easy to use, permits organization in tasks. Possibility to hide documents, messages images to client while discussing with the team. Daily update of your projects via mail.

Cons

limited space to share files, sometimes you have to clean the dashboard to upload new files.

### "Absolute game changer for businesses!"

November 22, 2022

5.0

Basecamp has done nothing but streamline my day to day operations while assisting me to manage a team with various tasks and due dates. Sharing access to other business Basecamp accounts allows us to cut out the middle man when requesting material, and custom privacy settings means that I can add some users to specific projects while keeping those completely private to others. I now rely on Basecamp every second of every day to keep me on task, on my deadlines and as organized as I could possibly be

Pros

If you like to be organized, this is going to have a huge positive impact on how you get work done. From daily email summaries, due date notifications and more - I can no longer stay organized or follow deadlines like I used to without Basecamp because I've relied so heavily on its features for so long now. I can't even begin to imagine working without it!

Cons

I would love additional features such as bulk adding to-dos but generally have no negative feedback on Basecamp

### "Is a tool that has been very useful because at first it is very fast and versatile for my work."

May 21, 2018

5.0

Basecamp offers me basic project management tools (task list, file sharing, etc.) is based on a simple recipe: optimal utility rather than the multiplication of functionalities that are not always exploited and the flow of fluid information between collaborators, managers and customers. In addition to a low cost and a time to specialize relatively short.

Pros

\- Great ease of use and very intuitive. - It has an application for mobile phones with which you can take your projects more efficiently and instantly. - Have an Internal chat via Campfire. - A simple, directly usable and effective tool for teamwork. - offers basic project management tools (task list, file sharing, etc.) is based on a simple recipe: optimal utility rather than the multiplication of functionalities that are not always exploited and the flow of fluid information between collaborators, managers and customers.

Cons

The main disadvantage that it has is that it requires a learning time. If the client does not adopt the platform correctly, problems that interfere with the work can be generated. A common problem in our daily tasks is that customers mix requirements and doubts in the same conversation instead of creating a new thread. This makes it difficult to review information and assign tasks, since all messages must be scanned for requests that must be redirected to other computers. Another point against is that the platform only works online, so you cannot advance in jobs when there is no connection. However, this last point has not caused me major problems

### "My great experience with Basecamp"

January 11, 2018

4.0

The best benefit I have had from using the basecamp software has been that I have been able to improve and control the times of the projects that I am in charge of in my work.

Pros

What I like the most about the basecamp tool is that it has many integrated functionalities, such as attaching documents, attaching images, making the work schedule and also assigning tasks to the resources involved in the project. These functionalities are very important, since many times we have to use several tools to work on the same project, but with Basecamp we do not have to use other software because we already have everything included.

Cons

I have been using Basecamp for more than a year and it has happened to me that I am out of the office or in a meeting without my laptop nearby and I need to review some detail in the tool and it is not possible, since there is no mobile application of it, so it would be ideal to have a mobile version that allows you to see certain details of the projects we have created in the tool.

### "Basecamp - Good for Getting Started"

March 13, 2019

5.0

Overall, basecamp was easy to use and it helped our company out when we were at a certain stage and with certain projects. We've moved on to other platforms but still use basecamp for a few projects such as digital marketing retainers which have a high volume of communication. We find basecamp is better for that type of work. For software development, we find it can be a bit hard to manage a structured workflow. So basecamp is great for certain use cases and not so great for others. Regardless, it's a great platform and one of the best one's we've ever used.

Pros

Basecamp makes it easier to communicate within your team and also between your team and your client. It allows for all of the communication to be centralized in one location, whether that data is text, files, images, etc. It's also great with managing client sign-off and gathering feedback for specific items and not letting them access all of the communication for a project which you may want to limit to your client. Additionally, adding/removing users is very easy.

Cons

The older version of basecamp allowed threads within a project to be organized by frequency of comments so the thread with the last comment would appear at the top. Now, the threads are organized chronologically which can be a pain in the butt having to sift through the most relevant thread.

### "Stuck in the past?"

March 15, 2021

3.0

It works and has been around long enough that almost everyone knows it. It's easy to add certain types of content and ridiculously hard for others. It seems that some interface updates and better rich text abilities would be a welcomed addition to the tool. There are SO many options on the market that it doesn't make sense for a leader to be lacking this type of control.

Pros

Light weight interface that loads quick and is fairly compliant across devices. It's easy to add a quick comment or todo item. Good industry adoption so working with vendors is usually fairly seamless.

Cons

The interface is bit dated from a style perspective. Reading through a lot of text can be challenging as it's can become crowded and jumbled. Adding an image to a post is time consuming as I have to save out the images and attach them to the post manually. I then have to refer to the attachments by name in the description as opposed to putting them inline. As a business stakeholder who works closely with engineers, this is critical to working through UAT and bug fixing.

### "Impressive software for remote collaboration and task management"

June 10, 2022

5.0

Pros

Basecamp has really helped me achieve milestones in my work and projects. It's task management and collaboration functionality makes it seamless for me as a lead to collaborate with my team members, get updates on project milestones, and it also works as a cloud storage for all my project documents and artefacts (with proper folders and versioning).

Cons

I don't have any issues with Basecamp at the moment; however it can be improved by enabling direct creation of word or PowerPoint documents on it's cloud rather than "only document uploads" option.

### "Best Project Management Tool"

Cons

### "Simple and easy to use"

June 27, 2018

4.0

Pros

I used Based since 2017 when my friend introduce it to me. it is simple no hassle to set up, easy to send invitation to my team member . Simple client invitation. Create project easy. Tagging teammate is an awesome feature. we can simply tag our teammate in comments, to-do items, team chat, personal chat etc same as we do on Facebook. We can appreciate someone for his/her response. Set reminders and a lot of other activities can be done.

Cons

Themain issue I noticed was that people who don't take the time to learn how to use Basecamp are it's biggest downfall. For example, we have everything from Account Managers who respond via email (which works, but inserts their signature unnecessarily into the comment every time) to creatives who create a new thread every time they have an update to a project, which defeats the point of being able to look back at every edit/communication to see when a change was made or was supposed to be made but was missed etc.

### "Great tool for the project management"

December 27, 2020

I am using this software for the last 3 years and it helps me to save time and automatically update our customers about the project's work. Overall experience with the Basecamp is great.

Pros

The best part of the Basecamp is it provides daily activities updates to both the Client & the service provider. It is very user friendly and secure for confidential information sharing. Our clients are used to this software and easily answer our queries.

Cons

There is nothing to dislike in the Basecamp. Everything is great and it is very user friendly and anyone can easily handle the Basecamp.

### "Basecamp offers excellent value for the price."

August 11, 2022

4.0

For remote employees, Basecamp is an excellent tool. We can plan and act quickly thanks to it. I like being able to see what everyone else is working on because it helps me stay organised. The user interface is straightforward. But as it stands, I detest the email notification feature.

Pros

With the flexibility to access the Services, we were able to adapt Basecamp to interface with our internal and some external systems, and it now does practically everything we need it to. Every project is monitored and managed using the app, and we can report on them for cost estimates at any time. Our project hours are logged against each project utilising the Web service. There are more capable project management software programmes available, but they are all more expensive and charge per user.

Cons

The services is a bit simple and doesn't have a lot of features as the others project management softwares does. The email notifications are very annoying.

### "Easy to use! Great search features and affordable."

August 7, 2019

5.0

Pros

Basecamp is super affordable and very easy to use. You don't have to spend lots of time learning the tool; it's very obvious. The search feature and documents feature in Basecamp 2 are really good. There are a ton of integrations; we chose Everhour time tracking because it integrates best with Basecamp 2. The tasks are freeform and you can easily include Google Drive docs which really helps move projects forward.

Cons

Most of its competitors have more 'management' style features, like Gantt charts, but honestly, I prefer the ease of use of Basecamp to those other tools.

### "Efficient Project Management Tool"

Basecamp has been a game-changer for our project management needs. By using it, we have significantly improved our team's collaboration and overall efficiency.

Pros

The platform helps me organize tasks to make it simple to track progress and deadlines. Basecamp's centralized communication feature streamlines team discussions and reduces the need for scattered emails. Also, the seamless file-sharing capabilities enhance collaboration and keep all project-related documents in one place.

Cons

I have observed that new users take some time to fully grasp all features, particularly if they are accustomed to other project management tools.

### "After trying a lot of other project management tools, we switched back to Basecamp"

August 10, 2021

Wow! 100% user adoption is sure.

Pros

Simplicity, the way the product is engineered is simple and everyone understands it. Client portal is seamless. We use it as a case file management system for our clients and share access whenever necessary.

Cons

Overall progress tracking could be made a bit better - they have introduced charts, but could be better.
