### "Great capabilities. Truly terrible UX."

June 25, 2025

3.0

I think if I were using Basecamp all the time, I'd really like it. I have always used it for outside projects (most recently, with a vendor) - so I don't interact with it daily. Every single time I go to use it, I have to search for the features I want. Why is the design SO BAD?

Pros

I like how Basecamp makes it easy for me to collaborate with our outside vendors. Chat, IMs, and project timelines are all in one place!

Cons

I find the design to be very counterintuitive. There are lots of UX bugs - for example, the "save draft" button is dark, and the "send message" button matches the background.

### "Frustrating but functional"

March 5, 2025

3.0

Pros

Basecamp has a really clean interface, and it has a nice daily task view to keep me on schedule with due dates.

Cons

Basecamp loses notifications frequently, when I click on the them they are gone forever if I don't handle them right away.

### "My Basecamp Experience"

Its a smooth experience. I get to see assignments given to me and also pass information around no matter the device being used.

Pros

It is such a smooth way to communicate and relay information to teams. it also helps you to manage a project and know when its due. i love this software.

Cons

At first, it can be a bit overwhelming as a new user, so the user interface can be a lot at times.

### "Basecamp prepares the team for success "

October 9, 2025

4.0

Overall our agency used Basecamp across multiple teams to keep marketing projects on time and clients happy by handling project management coordination.

Pros

Whatnwe liked.most about Basecamp is that our team could stay organized while we shared files and discuss projects.

Cons

What we like least about Basecamp was that we wanted more integrations with other software we used so we could use few dashboards to manage and respond.

### "Improved way of working"

January 12, 2026

4.0

Overall, i think that Basecamp is very useful especially for remote teams. I initially did not see the need for it as i was used to my way of work, which was a bit difficult but started seeing the benefit as my project work progresses.

Pros

I have been using Basecamp for quite a while. It is one of those apps that has facilitated my project work collaboration in my early career days. I found it very useful for sharing files, communicating, and knowing updates.

Cons

The basecamp visualizations is a bit clumsy and i found it a bit difficult to catch up with the navigation on the early use. Update notifications are fine but appeared to be a bit disturbing at time. Could have been helpful with some selection flexibility.

### "Collaboration with Basecamp is simple"

November 14, 2024

4.0

The layout is simple, and I like that all the discussions, files, and tasks related to a project are all in one place. As a result, we have improved our collaboration and clarity, while we do have some issues with file structure occasionally. Basecamp had simple, focused team collaboration, and I picked it for that reason. Having the ability to bounce off design inspiration or spend time brainstorming ideas in the same space means no more scattered communication on emails or multiple platforms needed. The resultant streamlined approach paves the path to creativity and tanks the design process multiple times.

Pros

What sets Basecamp apart is that it has a central communication hub along with tasks and lists to keep everything organized in one location. The automatic check-in feature on the platform helps team members frequently share updates on their progress, allowing for seamless communication and holding everyone in one piece throughout the design process.

Cons

Basecamp itself is a useful app, but their file management system could be better since there is no sorting and tagging as advanced as in CI or GitLab. It would also be extremely helpful to further customize the notification system so that users could more specifically tailor alerts based on urgency or relevance to reduce notification fatigue.

Before that, I used Monday.com to manage projects, but then I switched to Basecamp because it puts project communication and project tracking in one place. Monday.com has incredible features, but Basecamp's simplicity and their focus on collaboration rank higher with the unique, ever-changing nature of our design projects.

### "File storage feels intuitive and cohesive"

July 16, 2025

5.0

Pros

Basecamp Message Board and Card Tables provided me with an opportunity to monitor tasks and conversation in a single location. The Automatic Check-in held my staff responsible, and Hill Charts allowed me to see the progress as a whole.

Cons

The only annoying function is that it sent too many notifications to my inbox, and it was hard to ensure that I do not miss important information.

### "My effective project management tool."

February 13, 2025

4.0

Basecamp has made team collaboration a lot easier. I leveraged it to coordinate a cross-departmental effort, and the consolidated platform eliminated confusion and improved communication. It’s particularly great for teams that value simplicity over complexity.

Pros

I like how Basecamp has everything in one place, messages, to-dos, files, schedule. For instance, when we were working on a remote team project, the message board feature also eliminated email threads going off on tangents, and automatic check-ins ensured that everyone was accountable without coming across as micromanagers.

Cons

Advanced features are missing for more complex projects. Also, the interface is simple but somewhat dated compared with more modern tools.

### "Camp champ"

November 4, 2025

4.0

Pros

I do like all the options Basecamp has, however, I am not crazy about the UI. It is too crowded and the color scheme is ugly.

Cons

The UI is not my favorite for sure, but the UE is somewhat pleasant except it can get confusing with all the categories.

### "Basecamp is one of my favorites "

February 6, 2025

5.0

As a contract designer, I was always pleased to learn that a client was using Basecamp over other project management systems. Communication was clear and tasks were easy to follow along with. I liked it a lot and would recommend but to other designers.

Pros

\- It was easier to use than other project management systems I've used in the past. - It was easy on the eyes, better laid out and put emphasis on the right items. - It had a reasonable learning curve.

Cons

\- There was no direct interaction with Slack. You had to use a third-party app to hook it up. - It's popularity is waning

### "Good Project management software for simple projects"

June 9, 2025

4.0

My overall experience was positive. We used basecamp for many years at my company and it was always a simple solution for collaborative projects.

Pros

I like the simplicity of Basecamp. I also liked its usefulness for creating to do list for complex tasks.

Cons

The thing I liked least about basecamp was the lack of features. For all intents and purposes , basecamp is like a collaborative post it note. This is good for small projects or personal to do lists, but a bit insufficient for larger more complex projects.

It's a great tool to collaborate with colleagues. There aren't a ton of options for customizing the templates, which keeps things simpler.

Cons

### "You should give this a try!"

July 12, 2025

3.0

Overall good. I would consider trying it again if it made sense. However our team is small and can use other tools

Pros

The cost is great for what you get. Unlimited memebers is unheard of. Basically unlimited storage and projects.

Cons

Overall just felt a bit clunky and a lot of work to onboard someone if they just needed to help a little.

### "Intuitif !"

April 30, 2025

5.0

### "Calm control center"

May 13, 2025

5.0

Pros

I like that with Basecamp, things feel less messy when you're working with others. In our team, we used to send a lot of emails, ping on chats, and forget where stuff was saved. It’s simple, doesn’t try to do too much, and that’s actually what makes it good.

Cons

I dislike that sometimes it feels a bit too simple. If you need advanced tracking or custom views, you kind of hit a wall. You work with what it gives, not how you want.

### "Basecamp Best Team Doc Storage Program"

February 4, 2025

5.0

Very positive. Super interactive with all other major data programs. Can easily link to Google Docs or any other data.

Pros

Excellent and user-friendly program for having a central location for shared document storage. Better than Google docs because it is not created within a dedicated account, so that when the person who created it leaves, access become problematic. Solved a significant access issue for our multi-disciplinary team.

Cons

No downsides. At first I was slow to use it because it represented yet a whole other new software to get used to, but then when I spent even just a bit of time in it, I realized how extremely easy it is to use
