### "My review Basecamp"

February 1, 2021

5.0

I love Basecamp, my experience as been pleasant so for. So if anyone out there is looking for an application to do collaborative work with colleagues this is probably the one for you.

Pros

Decent platform to do collaborative work with colleagues, great features such as the Campfire which is a group chat that allows you constantly stay up to date with the latest news, send files, links and discussing new ideas.

Cons

I would say customer support response times, as they do take a while to respond to your calls and emails at times although this happens less than 15% of the time. And the price is ok but could be a bit lower.

Pros

### "The tool that I will never leave"

Platform where you manage super simple projects, it works for many things among others the organization of users, collaborators, clients, partners.

Pros

Super simple I love that it is not messy or the time of its use. Fast and intuitive interface.

Cons

Sometimes the sighter becomes a bit crazy, if you are looking at Google takes you to a wrong place.

### "Efficient platform for project and task management"

June 27, 2018

4.0

I used my time more efficiently thanks to Basecamp.

Pros

What I like about Basecamp is the task sharing feature among team members. No one can waste his time and get undeserved salary. In most companies there are people just hanging around and doing nothing. This is called hidden unemployment. But Basecamp prevents it. By setting tasks individually everyone knows his job and how to do it. If any question appears you can always ask help from team members or managers through Basecamp. There are bunch of other useful features of Basecamp too. Creating project templates, sending and receiving document and files online, chatting with each other, brainstorming, discussion boards and etc. Basecamp keeps people in cooperation and increases productivity.

Cons

What I dislike is search feature of Basecamp. In big and complicated projects I need more filter options. I hope in the future developers will take that into consideration.

### "One of the best project management tools I've used"

August 15, 2019

5.0

Basecamp is solid. Gets the job done. Easy and fun to use.

Pros

I really appreciate Basecamp for its simplicity (structure / UI/UX), clarity (how it presents information; how easy it is to go in and make updates and edits and to know what's going on), and speed / reliability. It just works. I've been using Basecamp for several years and it seems to get better and better each year.

Cons

No recurring tasks / to-do's...seems like a massive oversight for those of us who have tasks that need to be done each day, week, or month (and would save a lot of time instead of creating a new task / to-do item each time). Pings could be improved by having an option to always have that window open while i work on other parts of the site (or campfires, for that purpose). And finally, wish campfires worked more like slack with threads that can be created around specific messages.

Basecamp provided more features and versatility than Trello. I like Basecamps structure more.

### "Very Pleased with Basecamp"

February 12, 2019

5.0

Overall very pleased. We have been using Basecamp for several years, starting with Basecamp 2 and now using Basecamp 3. It has really helped our organization.

Pros

Basecamp has helped our organization stay organized by allowing us to assign tasks to individuals and keep track of progress. It also allows us to upload documents and make those available to those individuals we want as well as projects. This makes it so not everyone has access to everything, especially if it doesn't relate to their line of work within the organization.

Cons

I do not like the amount of emails that are received for notifications. Although you can shut these off, you also don't want to because you don't want to miss something but sometimes it just seems overwhelming when you already get a ton of emails from others as it is.

### "Good for a team project"

October 17, 2018

5.0

Multiple different projects I've been part of have chosen basecamp as their collaboration tool, and for the most part, it's worked pretty well for what it does. The problem is that it's multiple different groups, and I can't necessarily use my work email for volunteer projects or vice versa, and because it is such an extensive tool, it's difficult to keep track of where things are, which group is using which functionality, and it just doesn't work well enough to be my 'main' tool, so I'm sure I haven't learned all the best features. It's pretty good at what it does though. A centralized place to keep track of your project, great collaboration tools, easy way to get a concensus on an idea or plan, great reminders (though easy to overdo, don't remember if you can tweak, but I remember getting tons of reminders for things I didn't 'need' to know mixed in with several I did 'need' to get without an obvious way to tell how to filter between the two).

Pros

Collaboration, notifications of things to do, features like polls and a single place to organize for a project

Cons

Since I have multiple types of projects with multiple different groups, this always ends up being just 'another' thing to log into. If I recall, I couldn't really segment things enough to keep work, personal, volunteer stuff separated, so had multiple logins and it was just clunky to keep track.

### "Critical to Daily Operations"

January 21, 2021

5.0

Overall, Basecamp has been a huge asset to our company. We've been able to expand the geographic areas our teams works from while they still can feel connected to the company.

Pros

Our entire business runs out of Basecamp right now. Pre-COVID we relied on it for communication and project management. During COVID it has become absolutely crucial in managing our remote and in person teams. The to do lists are easy to manage and help to hold all employees accountable.

Cons

I'd love to see a way to archive completed to dos and projects in batches instead of individually. One huge improvement would be customizing who can and cannot post on certain teams or projects.

### "Efficient tool for project management"

October 22, 2021

5.0

Basecamp is responsible for all team collaborations; we use it to communicate, make decisions, share records, and conceptualize project thoughts. Everything has become better, and it's all because of Basecamp.

Pros

What I like the most about Basecamp is its user interface. Basecamp's user interface is clean and easy to understand. In most project management tools, functionalities are compromised in order to create a better user interface, but in Basecamp that is not the case.

Cons

Basecamp is expensive compared to other project management tools. The search feature could be improved.

### "Basecamp's simplicity and integrations set it apart, bot don't push it ahead"

October 19, 2018

4.0

This allowed my implementation team to bring time tracking and task management under one roof. We needed a place where we could assign tasks, exchange files, leave notes, and track time so we could report on everything we did. This tool allowed us to do all of that with relative ease and transparency.

Pros

Basecamp's interface is very simple and easy to use. The integration options are robust, to the point where almost anyone can make use of it. In fact, our dev team, CSM team, Marketing team, and SDR team were all able to use this tool for different purposes without fail. The notifications and file management also make it easy to exchange data quickly.

Cons

This is shallow, but I'm just truly not a fan of the UI. It's just not my cup of tea. I have worked with other project management software in the past that just had a workflow and look that I enjoyed more. This, however, does not mean that the functionality is lacking, just that I don't enjoy using the tool as much as others.

### "The least complex, but also the least feature-rich PM tools"

February 11, 2022

3.0

Too basic--it's not a tool I'd return to in any capacity but might be good for someone without a lot of experience or needs from a project tool.

Pros

Basecamp is really simple--it doesn't have the never-ending trees or dependencies that other project management platforms have. It makes conversations on a singular task easy to follow and would be great for collaborating between 2 or 3 people. I actually find the mobile app easier to use than the browser version.

Cons

The simplicity of Basecamp is it's downfall for larger teams. Things get chaotic quickly, and it doesn't have the cleanliness of assignments, due dates, dependencies, etc. that I think is needed to truly move a project along with a larger group. It was very easy to lose conversations or not be notified of updates because of the way these things are set up in Basecamp.

### "Keeps our project management organized"

August 1, 2018

4.0

Project management is streamlined Approval process is streamlined Shared documents are accessible to everyone on the project Storage of creative projects

Pros

Keeps an ongoing log of what's happening with a project, approvals and deadlines. I like how a user can reply to something directly in their email, without having to log into Basecamp. This is handy especially with approvals. I love being able to find a project from a few years ago without having to go into our shared network and search through file folders.

Cons

Search functionality needs improvement. Sometimes ToDo's, Discussions, etc. could be streamlined. There should be a cc: field when assigning a To-Do to someone -- you need to add those people later for approvals, etc., but it should be an option when starting a project.

### "You have to know what you want to do with Basecamp"

March 26, 2019

4.0

I had a good experience working with Basecamp when I entered the workforce. I used it with an advertising team that include up to a dozen projects at a time, lots of subprojects, and about 15 team members including Graphic Designers, Content Creators like me, Account Executives, and our bosses, to name a few key positions. You really need to know how and when to use it, and how to organize yourself within the platform. If you don't do that, confusion and lots of repeated tasks will ensue.

Pros

Basecamp was really influential on me growing up as a team member, especially within the realm of marketing. It can be very hard to know how to be a team worker while also trying to keep track of what you do and Basecamp does help you with that. The progress tracking and chat functionalities really make life easier for a team.

Cons

Basecamp is not something I would describe as easy-to-use. They even gave me and a bunch of other new members of a team a whole talk (complete with slideshow) on how to make the best of it. It was company policy and part of the onboarding because there is a lot you need to learn. Not that much, but it is a lot when you compare it to other similar software.

### "The pinnacle of organization! "

January 1, 2020

5.0

Basecamp has a goal; to get your business organized so that it can function more efficiently. Basecamp delivers. There are multiple ways to set it up to meet your individual needs. Say you’ve got a lot of projects, big or small Basecamp can handle them all. With Basecamp you can name the project or task, add specific people to that task and even keep track of any files, messages, important dates or deadlines. You can split and organize even the most menial projects. Having all your information for all your team members in one place is a time saver and headache reducer! With Basecamp it is all there in a streamlined and easy to use app. It will keep track of your goals, meetings, to do lists, messages and more. Having all the information in one place rather than spread through emails, text, memos, or chats is much more conducive to getting things done efficiently. Basecamp allows me to keep an eye on both the big picture and the small day to day tasks. I’m able to reach out to employees to get a pulse on what they are working on and accomplishing. As an owner it gives me peace of mind knowing that in one simple dashboard I have an accurate overview of my employees and company’s performance. Basecamp is a great tool for my business as well as personal life. I would 10/10 recommend.

Pros

There is so much you can do with this software! Messaging, instant chat, to do lists, storage, check ins and more! You are never charged more for the number of employees or customers who jump on; it’s a flat fee per month, not charged by the “seat”.

Cons

At $99/month it isn’t the most budget friendly option for A small company. That being said, it does offer a lot more than expected which makes it most certainly worth its price tag.

### "Basecamp It is a very good alternative when you need to manage a project in the most efficient way."

October 22, 2018

4.0

Efficiency has improved in many projects that I have been in charge, which have been completed on time and meet each of the proposed goals within the organization, this product in addition to being of quality and use its costs are flexible and they adapt to the needs that the users present according to the projects as well as their degree of difficulty and the number of members that make it up.

Pros

Basecamp is a very useful tool and one of the most important aspects is that it significantly improves the management of a project and is very useful when you have a diverse task force, having the possibility to assign responsibilities to the members It also has various tools such as Calendar, agenda, document management, is multilanguage, and another important aspect is that everything integrated which facilitates a bit the organization of specific tasks which should be assigned to the members Participants.

Cons

It requires a training time to use it, despite having a simple interface can happen the case that work with other members of companies in various areas or even other organizations whose users are not familiar with Basecamp and Another aspect that requires only Internet connection but in my case has not been any problem.

It has helped us to keep on top with project updates, communications without any hassle.

Pros

Cons

### "To the Point and Simple"

September 28, 2018

4.0

Pros

Basecamp is straight to the point and easy to use. It helps me manage projects and allows me to see their progress as I work on them. I really enjoy the messaging system that Basecamp has, it makes communicating with the team so much more efficient. Instead of emailing everyone information, I can just send the information through Basecamp and know everyone received it. No longer do I have to worry about someone saying that they never received an email.

Cons

My con is honestly just a personal preference. I've worked with other management softwares and Basecamp looks and feels very simple compared to others. The interface is incredibly simple compared to others and could use a bit of modernization. I also feel that there are some features lacking compared to other software management tools, but it does get the job done. It's also very expensive compared to other programs that offer the same features.

### "Keeps thing in order and on track!"

December 5, 2023

4.0

My overall experience has been very positive and productive. I welcome more chances to participate on projects using this tool in the future!

Pros

It's very organized and you can tell who is doing what so you don't duplicate efforts, yet the whole team knows what's happening towards the big picture.

Cons

There are some documents that need to be loaded/shared, but with only certain team members. I don't like it that a certain document, that most on the team don't have a business need to know, is visible to everyone on the team. There should be a way to guard confidential documents to a limited team audience

### "Basecamp's price is the only thing I recommend"

March 19, 2021

2.0

This has been our company's platform for the last 3 years and we're moving away from it in May. It just doesn't fulfill our needs for project visibility overall. If you need something super cheap and super lightweight, this might do it for you. If you require any degree of workload visibility, multiple views, anything else complex, walk away.

Pros

Basecamp is a low-cost, better-than-nothing solution for project management. It's very simple to use by virtue of its lack of features and intuitive design.

Cons

Its drawbacks far outstrip its positives. I could go on and on about what this software doesn't do, but the biggest things it can't handle from a project management standpoint is its lack of functionality for rolling up or down hours for tasks, its limited views, and the lack of visibility of time per person across projects. It cripples you without those items.
