### "Great for small businesses collaborating with clients and team."

May 5, 2020

5.0

Overall, Basecamp is integral to our business communication and I highly recommend this for any kind of agency that needs an online proof of the communication. Helps me manage the team but also manage the clients as well.

Pros

I have been a Basecamp user for many companies and when starting my own, I needed the same features. Basecamp had scalable plans to allow me to start small and expand. There was a bit of a learning curve from Basecamp Classic to Basecamp what it is now but I like the changes and the flexibility you have with features for each project you work with.

Cons

The task management part isn't as great as other softwares that focus on task and project management. I feel this is something they can improve on for their out of the box solution instead of relying on other addons or using another software.

Basecamp had a better offering with features and options. Clients also knew Basecamp and were more likely to adapt to it than other brands.

### "Clients love it "

February 20, 2021

Basecamp is key in our day to day operation as a business, with both internal and external communication driven through it.

Pros

As a digital marketing agency, basecamp allows us to be transparent with our clients and easily collaborate or projects. It keeps communication clear and easy to look back on.

Cons

If there are some features you would like, for example an out of office feature, there isn’t much hope for getting additions and sometimes you are limited in what you can offer through it.

### "Basecamp the best "

February 27, 2021

5.0

First of all I solved the problem of meetings and secondly it made me more efficient in working with our clients to show them how to work on their projects and they can contribute or change certain requirements from their future product.

Pros

Basecamp came with a breath of fresh air in these complicated days for many businesses and made teamwork so much easier. Here you can find everything to grow your business and bring a lot of benefits, we still need to work in a lot of programs to accomplish something

Cons

Basecamp needs to be promoted more because many do not know about this wonderful software

Because that program was not improved and it was very difficult to have an ease in working with it.

### "4 Years and going strong"

August 22, 2019

4.0

We have been using it with a globally distributed team for the last 4 years and frankly cannot work without it. We even run our weekly meetings with it by reviewing outstanding tasks. If it's not on Basecamp, it doesn't get done!

Pros

Basecamp is quite easy to use. Even people who are less technically inclined will find it increases their productivity and collaboration. It is very useful to have an activity history and the fact that all shared files are available to users makes it a top class collaboration tool.

Cons

The style is not as fresh as it could be. When you first open the application you either love or hate the look and feel of it. One other small UX issue is that you have to download files to preview them. There is no option of previewing common files in-browser.

Reason for choosing Basecamp

Ease of use. The original version lacks some essential features that are only available in the latest version, but for our collaboration requirements it does a very good job.

### "Easy Tasks Management and more!"

June 1, 2020

5.0

We use Basecamp for bug tracking, tickets reporting, and also to coordinate each phase of new projects (including suggestions, deployments, planning future phases, etc.). Since it's really easy to use, it's helped us to very quickly bring in people from other companies, like developers. It's as easy as adding their email and they will be added to the project. It's helped us to put together different documentation that now is available to everybody that has access to the platform. I really liked that you can decide when to be notified or when to notify people via email.

Pros

How intuitive and flexible it is. Allows me and my team to track, coordinate and expand tasks easily with as much people as needed.

Cons

Sometimes conversations can get really long and people can get lost from the original topic. I think that a "thread owner" is something this platform is missing. The person that created the ticket/bug/thread should have some "admin" power to help on keeping the conversation focused.

### "Best way to manage team's task and provide visibility"

August 26, 2022

4.0

Great. Our entire company used Basecamp to collaborate with each other from sales, marketing, and engineering to design and operations.

Pros

Basecamp is easy to use and has a clean interface with great functionality. It uncomplicates task/project management.

Cons

Being minimalistic, it obviously lacks few advanced features but there's always a trade-off between ease of use and functionality.

### "An outdated program for workplace collaboration "

October 29, 2020

2.0

Basecamp does not have a user friendly platform and seems a bit outdated. It is hard to find a use for this when there are easier platforms on the market to collaborate in real time (like Google docs).

Pros

I like the idea of this being an organizational tool to keep track of what people have to do and assigning tasks. However, when working in google docs, Microsoft office products and others, it feels like an unnecessary software to use and an additional step in the workflow.

Cons

It doesn't seem very time friendly and feels like adding an extra step in the work process. You have to upload documents, edit tasks- overall, just lots of extra steps especially since you typically have to email people after to remember to check Basecamp.

### "Decent project management tool for remote teams"

February 9, 2021

5.0

As a whole, this has served our purposes well with the needed addition of other tools to fill in any gaps.

Pros

The online interface makes it a snap to use from anywhere and from any device. No extra client installs or other software to interfere with access. Just open a browser, login, and get to work.

Cons

Doesn't provide all options for all types of projects. I wish it could track timelines and milestone completion steps better. It's primarily a way to consolidate project data and to interact via messages and email threads as the project progresses. No meeting service integrations and could maybe use organizational content tools.

Reason for choosing Basecamp

Features provided.

### "Very easy to use, great tool for keeping docs and communication in a central area. "

June 20, 2018

4.0

Pros

I love how easy this program is to use, in my company we jokingly call it our "Facebook for jobs." We are a general contracting company and many of our employees work from the field. Basecamp helps us stay organized with one central location for all pertinent job documents and information. It is very user friendly.

Cons

My biggest complaint is that there is no "search" option for archived jobs. We have to scroll through every single job we have ever archived in order to find an old job if we ever need to reference information. You also need to be really careful with posting comments, being very selective who you send those post notification to, otherwise the e-mail notifications can become like white noise in your inbox.

### "Basecamp has made our work way more easy"

October 22, 2019

5.0

It's helping to manage my assigned projects at work. It's helping to solve the issue of having to try to consolidate anything project-related from different communication channels. Having one source of communication is helpful in ensuring nothing is missed and we only have to access one software to understand where we are at in a particular project

Pros

Basecamp is great at making sure your team is on the same page. As a company, I really like who they are and their tech support team is always great. I think that basecamp can work well for people who are not ready for a more robust project management tool and is really a great asset for a non-profit team where people tend to be less than project managers, but more than volunteers. In fact, I can only think of a few systems that would be as helpful in working with people who are not tech-savvy. The way that it is set up is very approachable for users of all technical abilities.

Cons

I don't like how in the free version you are only able to create and manage up to 3 projects. Maybe 5 would be nice at least? It makes me have to create another account using another email address to add more projects or I have to archive my existing ones.

### "Well Organized, Easy to Use!"

January 8, 2019

5.0

Overall, I would recommend Basecamp to any organization who wants to spend less time in meetings/conference calls and more time getting things done.

Pros

Cross-functional communication is super-easy with Basecamp. A business user could communicate an idea to a project team, and the implementation team could create the entire SDLC around that idea without ever needing to have a meeting or phone conversation since all the requirements can be captured in Basecamp. Basecamp also automatically creates an audit trail of interactions for every task, so it's easy to keep track of changes.

Cons

The transition from Basecamp (2) to Basecamp3 was a little difficult. We weren't able to transfer projects very easily from one to another to so we had to maintain both systems.

### "Company using basecamp for project and task management"

January 21, 2021

5.0

Our team loves basecamp. We put everything in the organization in it. We do our onboarding tasks, or development tasks, and our implementations in it. Everyone on the team puts in their three top tasks of the day and what they accomplished each day. It is very interactive

Pros

The software does a great job of keeping up with what tasks are on each individuals plate. You can scheduled out the due date. We also use basecamp to track our development bug fixes as well as daily check in on everyone's priorities.

Cons

Their chat feature could be improved. Right now, it is pretty basic and just text chatting. It would be nice to be able to share a screen with a team member or make a phone/video call from basecamp. That would make it an all in one solution

### "Basecamp is Best"

July 14, 2020

5.0

Basecamp helps our large team stay organized and on a strong timeline. It helps with cross-functional teams and focuses on a full project over a task like other project management software.

Pros

Basecamp is really helpful for storing files, and moving through projects that will be closed out after a term. It's helpful working with clients or people outside your organization as well.

Cons

There are only a few things I don't like about Basecamp - one is being able to assign the same task to people individually, and a difficulty in creating reassigning tasks (it has to be added manually).

### "Basecamp needs to up its game to stay relevant but still a good tool for the price"

March 6, 2019

3.0

Basecamp is really easy to set up and use. You basically just invite people and they can start using it to communicate right away. Lack of sophistication as your company grows, though, doesn't really make you want to stick with it, but find a more sophisticated solution to answer your needs. I hope that basecamp starts innovating soon because we have a little soft spot for it!!!

Pros

Basecamp is a really simple project communication tool that any non-technical user can grasp intuitively right off the bat. This is the good thing. Easy to create message threads, groups, and then find info inside those messages. B

Cons

Lack of way to organize files and other collaborative efforts is annoying. It also doesn't integrate into enough third party tools like bug trackers. Honestly with the use of slack replacing basecamp and skype in our team, slack is winning and basecamp needs to step up its feature set unless it wants to become irrelevant. Also needs a way more robust file management system for collaboration - we want to just be able to ctlr+c/v cut and paste screen shots to quickly communicate, not save the image, upload the image, then send out to share it to go voer a problem or suggestion.

### "Best Collaboration Tool Around"

February 16, 2021

5.0

Basecamp has allowed me to create tasks with micro tasks and instructions unlike any other app out there. The layout isn’t like any other app out there, it make the workflow seem less from a project management point of view.

Pros

Basecamp is extremely unique. The set up is easy. I love how you can create tasks and list within projects, add notes, photos and files. It’s by far the best thing I’ve used, especially as someone with ADD. It allows me to map out tasks and projects in a way that makes sense to me and my team.

Cons

The cost is high for me. I wish there was a middle tier that limited the amount of projects. Some notes and files can get lost when attached to a task. Maybe if there was some notification or something more eye catching to let the user know there is more to look at before starting the task.

### "Project Management System that is User Friendly & Capable of Completing Projects Effectively"

January 13, 2021

5.0

My overall experience was ease of workflow. We did not have to spend a lot of time trying to figure out the software and once we got going, projects were much smoother and we finished much more quickly.

Pros

Ease of use, communication with co-workers online without having to get up to waste time talking about the project. Basecamp was very functional.

Cons

There was not anything I recall that I did not like about the software. The design was appealing in my opinion, so I wasn't worried about a bunch of templates.

Reason for choosing Basecamp

More functions are available and it's best for projects

Cons

### "I LOVE Basecamp"

March 28, 2019

5.0

Using Basecamp can whip any company or team into shape. Projects never fall through the cracks now. It's easy to use and even easier to set up.

Pros

What a life-saver! Basecamp has helped us organize our project workflow. Before we were using spreadsheets and projects pretty much lived in inboxes, but with basecamp we were able to create a central hub to have a record of our projects and where they were in the process. It made it so much easier to track work down for a client or to identify pain points. I can't recommend it enough.

Cons

I've never had a problem with Basecamp and I've used it at several different companies. It's always been a huge benefit for organization. Even though people groan about learning new software, it's absolutely worth it.

### "A good team management tool if you can afford it !!"

April 8, 2020

3.0

Overall I would say if your a project head managing multiple project and team members it will be a very useful tool to decrease your stress level / paperwork and increase your productivity. So, even if ur not good with computers or technology I suggest get use to it as it will help you to multitask.

Pros

1/ Good thing about it is it has a flat price and they don't increase it depending on the buyer 2/ A very simple and user friendly way to list out view and tick the to do list with your entire team so that everyone knows who needs to do what and report back 3/ Campfire feature is a smart idea by Basecamp so that you can brainstorm your ideas before you put it formally in the project. 4/ Works fine on all the operating systems smoothly 5/ A very user friendly interface (only if your good technically) to manage your team and multiple projects through this Basecamp 6/ Automatic checkins and Ping functionality are also great features

Cons

1/ I find it expensive since we have so many other applications readily available in the market for free or even at a price half than this. 2/ User interface some times can be so confusing for someone not very well versed with the technology so I say its not very user friendly 3/ There is limit to the reports we can generate 4/ Many more features which the users find difficult to cope up with 5/ Basecamp should time to time release tutorials on how to be more efficient using there software

### "Developing projects based on objectives and goals is easier with Basecamp"

August 1, 2018

5.0

Pros

After looking for many software that offered to organize our projects and research based on goals and objectives, we were able to find Basecamp, a very reliable solution that is totally easy to manipulate by the team. One of the characteristics that makes Basecamp sensational is the ease with which it can be handled, and this is due to a considerable reduction of tools that exist in other software of the same characteristics and make their use and functionality a bit tedious. Basecamp also offers a solid assistance that allows us to overcome the operational problems between the software and the subs, giving a sense of personalized attention and a lot of security, elements that make it impenetrable compared to other options of this software in the market.

Cons

After learning to use this software fully and linking it with the daily tasks of our Management, we have increased our productivity, registering better research and results, making it a tool in our vutal. I could not issue negative comments or opaque them.

### "Best Project Manager"

February 9, 2021

5.0

Overall, it's been very positive. The plus side is that they don't charge per user, unlike other apps on the market.

Pros

I love Basecamp. Prior to Basecamp, our project management was very disorganized. We had files everywhere, documents everywhere, and nothing to help organize it. Basecamp has tons of integrations and allows us to link up files and Google docs for our all projects. Amazing!

Cons

I wish there were things to help better keep track of timelines and schedules. I think Notion does a better job at this.
