### "The best solution for teamwork and managing projects"

October 14, 2020

5.0

I was looking for a system for managing my team works. Then I found basecamp. It has many attractive features, which made us so satisfied. It increased our collaborative spirit. I was handling our projects faster because of its outstanding communication features. Overall, It's a very reliable system.

Pros

Basecamp has a perfect communication system. Which is very important for the team works. I can easily communicate with my clients, and teammates also. I can track my progress very easily. The support of Google Docs, Google Sheets, and Google Calendar in basecamp is a very attractive and useful feature.

Cons

I think the price is a little bit higher for a small business.

### "Working Together with Basecamp"

November 4, 2021

4.0

Pros

Basecamp is a great app to use when working remotely or virtually with colleagues. Collaboration is the key word when it comes to Basecamp. The app allows us all to work together and communicate with each other throughout the day. Task management is also a key aspect of Basecamp. It is easy to keep track of tasks that need to be done, project deadlines, and any other aspects of work life.

Cons

The only negative I have found with Basecamp is that it doesn't offer invoicing or much to do in way of reporting tools. So, I have found myself needing other apps to fill those roles Basecamp is missing.

### "It has been my solution to manage and organize projects in a fast, efficient and practical way."

July 4, 2018

5.0

Basecamp has made my working life easier, it has made my work more efficient, allowing me to visualize the priorities of my projects, take quick action and distribute the tasks among the work group to meet the objectives in the set times.

Pros

Basecamp is super simple and very easy to use since it has very practical functions that do not require tutorials or much explanation for its correct use, besides it offers great alternatives for improvement in productivity and efficiency within the organization, since it manages activities in the company, specifying the priorities of each project that is being developed, with the great function that creates group agendas so that all those involved are informed of the progress of each task, also offers reminders that allow to give instructions to each employee and report on progress or of any data that is necessary to impart to the group, share notes or vital documents in the company. On the other hand this software allows access from a wide variety of mobile applications facilitating its use in different places.

Cons

The only considerable disadvantage I find in this software is its cost, since it is necessary to pay a monthly fee and have a good internet connection to enjoy all the benefits provided by this work tool.

### "Basecamp Helps Us Communicate Better"

November 13, 2022

5.0

Basecamp helps us communicate better with large groups of people. Participants are able to add to discussion boards easily. We are able to manage projects effectively.

Pros

We regularly use Basecamp to communicate within our large networks of educators. It is easy to share files, promote events, and host discussions. The notifications feature is particularly helpful so you don't have to monitor every project/topic.

Cons

The default for the notification feature is to receive emails with all of the updates. If participants don't change this preference quickly, the amount of email can be overwhelming.

### "Basecamp Success"

August 25, 2022

5.0

Very pleasant, really helped move the org forward.

Pros

Easy to drag/drop documents, collaborate, and receive updates via email or reply via email.

Cons

Prioritization is difficult and you couldn't update multiple tasks at once. Templates could also be more user friendly.

### "A critical piece of software in managing our team's works. "

July 20, 2018

5.0

Pros

The ability to easily manage documents is essential in working with a team that quickly generates work and has teammates spread out across multiple locations. Once we trained our team on using Basecamp and expectations for its use, we rarely encounter a document management issue. Basecamp is also essential to managing timelines thanks to the handy system of adding to-do's/tagging performers/assigning calendar due dates.

Cons

Files that are added in messages used to automatically be added to the documents folder in Basecamp classic. This isn't a huge deal, but it typically creates a lot of problems with Basecamp novices, who will end up spreading multiple versions of the same document all over the project.

### "Great task management tool "

June 8, 2018

5.0

Organization and sanity

Pros

Basecamp is a great task management tool for our marketing team. We get all sorts of requests, and it's nice to get them out of our email inbox. No more random email chains with edits and revisions, it's all in one place, organized.

Cons

I don't think it was built for marketing but we made it work for our team. It would be nice if there was a way to reject requests. Also if you could track when someone was added to the assignment (some people build out tasks but wait to assign, when they do they give 1 day, so it looks like someone was sitting on the project for weeks when in reality you get 1 day notice). Those are just small feature peeves, there's nothing I hate about this product.

### "Favourable for mid to large size teams."

April 2, 2018

4.0

Project management has definitely become bearable. Management of large team has become relatively easier.

Pros

Currently we have a team that is working on a startup project, so we are generally still moving and experimenting with the team structure. What I liked most about basecamp is that it works in that situation. We have multiple micro-teams with multiple tasks, and these tasks are on a regular basis shared amongst different devs and basecamp is working perfectly with that. Including/removing a dev from a task is easy. Another feature that I, as a team lead appreciate is that I can pin important/critical task on top of my dashboard and watch them clearly despite of having a jungle of tasks. Also the fact that their price plans are very clear and without hidden fees is a plus.

Cons

Would love to have an on-board analytics view, and lack of customizability is a problem for us. A few of our friends complained about the absence of time tracking, but we don't face that problem as all of our team members sit in the same building.

### "Our Project Management tool of choice for in-house marketing team"

October 21, 2019

5.0

Our overall experience has been great. We use it for our team as well as to collaborate with other teams within our organization. We like the simple interface and features like "automatic check ins" which we use on a weekly basis.

Pros

Basecamp is a great project management tool is that is very flexible. It has a ton of tools built in, but is not prescriptive in how you use those tools - so there is a lot of opportunity to adjust the tools to your or your teams' specific needs.

Cons

For users who don't spend all day in Basecamp, it can get confusing what the difference between a ping, a campfire, a message board, a to-do, etc are.

Reason for choosing Basecamp

Basecamp is very easy to administer (little involvement from IT needed) and we like the simple and scalable pricing.

### "Fantastic software for organizing tasks as well as projects."

November 4, 2018

5.0

Splendid software that lets us know about the upcoming tasks as well as how the project is progressing. No doubt it is a wonderful platform for our all team members.

Pros

Basecamp is widely used application by professionals that is particularly used for project management. I have been using it for a long time and what I have got to know about this tool, it is the best tool that organizes almost everything. It has removed all the barriers may occur in task management and made it really easy to use by anyone. It provides the excellent ways through which one can monitor and control projects easily.

Cons

I use Basecamp as project management software and I have much experience about its functions and features. There is a phase, where I feel Basecamp needs improvements. When I use Basecamp on mobile I find it a little difficult, what I think its desktop version is easier than the mobile one for the accomplishment of the tasks. But the thing is that mobile accessibility is more important and easy for the user because it can be more comfortable in the busy routine. Otherwise I do not have any negative things about this application.

### "Excellent - Easy to Use - Project Manager"

January 20, 2021

5.0

Excellent experience in gaining user adoption. Very easy to install with no real limitations such as user limits, etc.

Pros

The system is extremely easy to use and helps us track projects. We enter everything on a project into Basecamp, so that things are not lost in emails. Very easy to tag people.

Cons

The biggest gap in the system is that it does not allow for dependent tasks. So it is not a full scale project management system. But that is not really what we are using it for.

### "Keep Your Team Working Efficiently"

March 11, 2022

5.0

I've been able to do a lot more work and communicate with my team by using Basecamp.

Pros

Basecamp makes it easy to set up a project with dedicated tasks which can be assigned to specific team members. This has improved my teams productivity, motivation, and accountability.

Cons

Basecamp is a little bit more expensive than other options on the market, but make no mistake; Basecamp offers a great value for the price.

### "2020 Basecamp Review"

November 9, 2020

4.0

Very easy to register and sign in, I find it great for teamwork and communication between the team and document loading. However, the challenges I face is that there is no time tracking or reporting tools that could really make it a good project management software

Pros

Easy to use the software, one flat fee per month, can integrate well with a wide variety of apps or services. Easy to upload files and assign and track project tasks that need to get done to colleagues. The software allows Easy, effortless communication between colleagues. When we started using the software we liked the online screen tutorials that walk you through using the software. Another perk is that It is effortless to get our clients to join us in basecamp so they can engage with us on the project.

Cons

It's not really functional for project management and allows very limited reporting. The one thing about its structure that is a really a big No for me is that the setup is siloed.

### "Depends on What You're Looking For"

October 12, 2020

4.0

I've been a fairly happy user of it. I never felt like I needed to be trained in how to use it, and that made it easy to dive right in. Life is busy, and if a system isn't intuitive at all, it's hardly worth looking at. Thankfully, Basecamp is very intuitive, and while it might not have all the features that I'd want, I felt like I could use it fully right out of the gate.

Pros

The software is really easy to use. It's one of those systems where one almost instantly knows how it will be used. It has a simple, easy, and friendly interface all around. It does a good job of putting asynchronous communication easy and organized.

Cons

The file management isn't very robust, and for live conversations, a separate system is really necessary. I've mostly only use it for planning an annual conference, but after looking at some alternatives, I've "missed" the ability to have a good project timeline/Gantt chart.

### "Basecamp is very powerful tool to manage your project"

June 5, 2018

5.0

Make my day easier with my team and my clients, every single piece of the project will be in the same place, assets, comments, mocks, questions and you'll never miss anything important.

Pros

Basecamp let you have a communication channel with your team and your clients where everybody can target new threads for whatever you need in your project, in my experience as a Mobile developer working with UI/UX designers basecamp makes my day easier to find the assets they shared or new proposals, but not only with designers also with my clients with feedback, everybody in the thread will know what's happening and can give their opinions.

Cons

Probably they need more super powers, I suggest basecamp to have a board to organize tasks and new features for apps.

### "Project management, works, but lacking some features... "

September 24, 2018

4.0

Initially we were satisfied with Basecamp, but over time we found its features to be basic and lacking the deep feature set we required. After using it for a few years we migrated to a new project management tool

Pros

Basecamp has a is a decent, all-round project management tool. When we started using it we were moving from unstructured, cluttered shared network drives, so this was a positive step. It provided some clarity, and allowed a single source for diaries, file shares, project boards etc..

Cons

Although Basecamp has many features we ultimately found them all to be quite basic - somewhat a jack of all trades, master of none... One particular gripe we had was that the project areas for uploading files were unstructured and quickly got very messy.

### "Best Communication & Organizational Tool on the Market"

August 19, 2019

5.0

I love this software and recommend it as frequently as possible to everyone. (Even our school's Booster Club) It is SO much better than trying to organize events via email or \*shudder\* text. :-)

Pros

I have been using Basecamp for over 5 years now and will never stop using it. It is the best way to communicate with my online team and keep everything organized. Since all our employees are off-site and work strange hours, this is the best way to keep everyone on the same page. I've recommended this to several other business owners.

Cons

I wish it the calendar function would show the month at a glance, and not just dots when something is scheduled. It would also be great if you could set up repetitive tasks (for the week/month/quarter).

Alternatives considered

[Evernote Teams](https://www.capterra.com/p/154969/Evernote-Business/)

Reason for choosing Basecamp

Basecamp had MUCH better functionality than Evernote. Evernote is great for organizing yourself, but fails miserably when you need to approach something from a group perspective.

### "Great project management tool no matter the size of the project"

December 3, 2019

5.0

Overall, I've had a really positive experience with Basecamp. I think it's a great product and I like the values of the company and the founders, which is important.

Pros

I like that I can project manage my business using Basecamp. I have everything in one place and it's organized in a way that makes everything easily accessible. I can separate to-do lists from documents that I'm working on from bigger strategic ideas I'm working through and it puts everything in one spot.

Cons

This one is hard. Basecamp lets the user decide how many notifications they receive and on what frequency. When I'm creating a document I have to remember to post it rather than save it. Posting it doesn't stop me from updating it, it just means it's live. For a one person show it doesn't make much difference. I could also save it as draft, but again, it doesn't make much difference.

### "Great for Project Collaboration!"

January 24, 2019

4.0

In using Basecamp, it is really easy to keep tabs on multiple projects and, as long as everyone is using the software in the correct way, you can really assign roles which helps keep everyone on task and efficient.

Pros

Basecamp makes it easy for both internal teams and clients to collaborate on documents and stay on track of projects! The checklists, calendars and other features really help keep efficiency levels up and aid in moving a project along.

Cons

One of my least favorite things about this software is the company's communication. They send numerous emails that you can't really opt out of because then you could miss important updates from your clients and team members. I would rather just go into my inbox on the software and check notifications.

### "Best Project or Task Management Tool"

August 5, 2022

5.0

My experience with basecamp has been smooth so far. I’m using it on daily basis for task management, project management, chat and email and in different other areas. It is so far the best tool integrated with different features

Pros

Most of the features required in a project management can be found at one place in basecamp be it task management, hill chart, to-do list, chat, email, calendar or even document storing

Cons

The software is a bit slow at times which needs to be improved rest it works flawlessly

### "A Bit Clunky But Good"

March 28, 2019

4.0

Generally good as a way of not having to rely on email for internal and external comms. Takes a bit of getting used to and every team will find their own way of working with it. Generally quite stable.

Pros

The "Heys" are useful in keeping you reminded of what needs looking at. You can initially be inundated with emails and notifications but there are options for limiting these. The search feature is pretty good. As with a lot of these tools there are lots of features we don't use/know about, we tend only to use the Message Board, To-dos and Campfire.

Cons

I tend to use the desktop app on Windows which is a bit slow, and seems like an older app with waiting for entire screens to refresh rather than pulling in bits that you need, though the website is much the same. The desktop app also doesn't integrate with Tracked for Basecamp so I have to use the site for that. When using the Kanban board it often goes back to the homepage on refresh which is annoying. Everything feels a bit all over the place, but then there is a lot of data to manage and present.
