### "Basecamp as small business "

August 3, 2023

5.0

To talk about Basecamp i got plenty. However in short to tell about, after the pandemic I was totally lost my job and no income, Basecamp where it helped me to grow in my small business.Thank you once again.

Pros

This application has actually helped in my small business of instrument selling. Liking about this is very good guidance on small businesses to big. Anyone can easily access to it because even the price is less and we can claim 30 days of free trial. Over all I have a best experience with this.

Cons

The price for subscription should be reduced it will be good for all to access may be can add on little more days for free trial. I believe in those who want to start the business will have money through any source, it will also be helpful from Basecamp if they reduce the price for subscription. Thank you for such good platform.

### "Solid project management software"

July 9, 2018

4.0

Without it, there would be no cohesive way for everyone on my team to access and update information regarding an ongoing project.

Pros

It's very easy to move through projects and tag appropriate individuals as needed - those individuals are then notified and can respond to the post appropriately. Overall, it's fairly easy to use and organize tasks. Additionally, you can create separate basecamps - one that your end client can participate in, and another that you and your team can use to keep information separate from the client.

Cons

No way to move subtasks in order under a heading, despite the updated dates. This makes it hard to compile a "to do" list from your basecamp projects. Also, the endless amount of mentions makes it hard to filter out global notifications from things you personally need to respond to.

### "A great way to organize and add structure to various projects in a simple and intuitive manner."

July 30, 2018

5.0

Pros

Basecamp gives users a lot of flexibility, allowing you to create discussions, to-do lists and more. It's easy to split tasks by creating different lists for each team or individual. As a project manager, it's really helpful to be able to split projects and tasks, and assign specific groups of people to each of them. Projects are kept clean and lean, without additional noise that adds confusion as to what goes where. As an individual user, it's easy to find your own tasks since your own activities will listed in your "Me" page as well. The "Me" page lets you keep track of not only what your tasks are, but also previously completed tasks or discussions that you've taken part in, making it simple to backtrack whenever you need to. The option to notify everyone in the group or even just select individuals comes in handy during discussions or when you need to get someone's attention without triggering notifications for everyone. This simple option really helps to focus on what each person needs to do rather than getting irrelevant emails all day long.

Cons

The biggest problem I have with basecamp is the pricing. While the pricing is great for larger groups and projects, it's actually really expensive for smaller groups or for small projects. The price tag is hardly justifiable for small or short term usage despite all of its great features.

### "Unlimited Users, Teams, and Projects"

August 31, 2019

5.0

Message threading and archiving help record and sort communication for teams whose members change over time.

Pros

I like that there is one price for the service, regardless of how many users, teams, or projects we have. I also like that the interface is consistent across all teams and projects. It keeps all communication in one place but still let's people interact with each other through email, if that's the interface that works for them.

Cons

Email categorization algorithms with classify Basecamp emails as lower priority. Unlike other cloud storage services, the lack of online viewers in Basecamp means that files have to be downloaded to be viewed.

### "A valuable, multi-purpose project management tool "

March 9, 2020

4.0

I think Basecamp, especially for small - medium sized teams, is a game changer, and allows projects to stay on track and enhances the ease of collaboration. It takes out the guess-work of what you have to do, what you're waiting on other team members for, and where to find important documents.

Pros

Basecamp takes care of so many aspect of project management and has them all in the same place (hence the name). I love that everything pretty much about a project could be tracked and viewed in one central location. I especially like their task / to-do feature, and how clear it is. That functions as the best place in my opinion to start my day and see what I'm behind on, what is on my plate for the day, and the week. It saves me so much planning time to have everything on my plate within Basecamp.

Cons

I honestly wish they had a way to integrate Slack, as that messaging platform is so much more powerful than the included messenger within Basecamp. I get it why they don't, I just think it wouldn't detract from their sales but add to it since so many teams use Slack. That's a minor complaint, though, since you can just NOT use their messenger and use slack instead. The integration they do have with Slack is kind of pointless in my opinion.

### "Awesome tool for team discussions and file sharing"

November 24, 2020

5.0

The efficiency of being able to contact the team members on the go is valuable. Also the file sharing is awesome.

Pros

The setup was very easy and fast. Inviting members using their email addresses was seamless and it handled everything else. Using the calendar and file sharing is very handy to setup simple task. The mobile app is amazingly easy and it makes it easy to contact the team while on the road.

Cons

The calendar could be a little more like a google calendar. Integration with SharePoint could be a little more seamless.

### "Fun Office IM"

May 19, 2021

4.0

Very positive. Its been a great way to meet new hires during a time when I would have never had the opportunity.

Pros

With Basecamp, we've been able to create several rooms for more than the usual office communications. We've been able to preserve a lot of the chatter amongst colleagues thanks to chat room about comic books, video games, movies and much more. The sort of random stuff you'd talk about with your colleagues while on break. This has been sorely missed during the pandemic, but Basecamp helps us keep things a little more normal.

Cons

Less of a fault to the software, but the implementation in our office environment. It's not often used in every department.

### "Basecamp increases productivity"

January 27, 2020

5.0

I think this is app has almost achieved perfection in this imperfect world!

Pros

Basecamp can be used for so many things! I am amazed by the features of this software. It is easy to use and so convenient to keep track of things. We can easily make 'To Do' lists, ensuring everyone knows what there job is and when it due. It is perfect. We don't have to waste time by going to meetings and it easily increases our productivity. This app is almost perfect!

Cons

It was very difficult to find a negative thing about this app but I guess, when there is a lot of projects going on, it can be difficult to keep track of all the messages of the various different groups.

### "Great Project Management tool for startups and small businesses"

February 14, 2019

5.0

Overall its great and I will keep using it for my small projects

Pros

\- Love the file sharing feature across the organization. - Unlimited number of projects and events can be added which is a huge plus for our organization especially when we are tight on budget. - To do lists feature is brilliant and can be explicitly added to each project - It is really easy to use the tool and anyone can learn in no time

Cons

\- Very few bugs in the system but there is one while scrolling which can be annoying sometimes - Not good for more complex and technical projects - It would have been great if TO DO lists were able to link with messages, files and schedules

The overall experience has been great with basecamp. Although the customizations and integrations are less it does serve our purpose of bringing every stakeholder of the project together at one place. We have achieved collaboration very easily among team members.

Pros

\- great way to manage multiple projects and keep a track of each and every one. - Priority settings and to-do list features are great - tool helps in forecasting the resources and also gives the picture of resource allocation - create and assign multiple teams and groups - very simple to use

Cons

\- not for medium to large sized companies. - Integrations are limited. - although collaboration is good, it does lack the time tracking

### "Not really sure how Basecamp continues to exist"

February 9, 2021

2.0

Have you ever been in a situation where you had no idea what was going on? If you're into that, then Basecamp is the tool for you!

Pros

It's better than a pen and paper for sure. No question there. And a case could be made that it's better than email, but I'm not convinced of that

Cons

It's supposed to make your life easier, but it does the opposite. You know how you have to have check your email and phone regularly? You can just add Basecamp to the list, but it's worse, because at least you get notified of emails...

### "Basecamp, it could be better"

October 26, 2018

5.0

I worked in a marketing agency where all the projects are managed in basecamp. I like so many things about basecamp, but I've found much easier to user and more complete another tools like notion.

Pros

I like so many things about Basecamp. It allows you to work with your teammates the right way. I really love the feature of the Campfires, it's like "a place" for every project your team is working in.

Cons

It's not too wasy to use. Nowadays you can use another tool much easier. I think it needs a "kanban-like" tool for the projects.

### "Basecamp Helps Keep our Team Organized and On Track"

November 27, 2017

Time management and project organization.

Pros

Our team has been using Basecamp now for nearly two years. We have seen productivity and time management increase due to the full adoption of this tool among the marketing and digital teams. Project tracking, individual to-do assignment calendars and reminders, and the communication tools have been most helpful for our teams.

Cons

I would love if this software had an instant messenger feature beyond the ping tool. Possibly in its own window or app.

### "Not the best "

October 9, 2019

3.0

I’ve never seen Basecamp implemented well in an organization. With so many actual project management systems out there that are easier to use and also free, I don’t get why people continue to use this. Basecamp had its time but it is now a blast from the past. For marketing and project management purposes, this is a big no! If you department uses this, push for a change. There are other solutions out there that will make your life easier.

Pros

I really don’t have many positive things to say. It’s free, but there are a lot of free options nowadays. It’s pretty easy to get a once over glance at everything on your to do list too.

Cons

Awful for project management, there are SO many better free options. Easy to delete or skip over things accidentally. Awful for collaboration. Difficult to find files. Confusing to find things that are archived. Not good if you need to communicate deadlines clearly. Easy to have important info lost in endless strands of conversation.

### "Excellent tool when managing projects which is quality, with very functional tools."

June 21, 2018

5.0

The benefits of this software are very positive because it has allowed me to manage projects properly in the organization, being able to save time and improve productivity in them, without a doubt I recommend Basecamp for its quality, guarantee, and simple but powerful tools when managing any type of project.

Pros

Its tools as they adapt to the needs of users among which are more interesting as automatic reminders, agenda management, document management, employee scheduling, group agendas, multi-language features, information and task management, which allows to work in a synchronized way and with multidisciplinary teams, saves costs and time in the management.

Cons

The bad thing is that it does not keep control of the members who participate in the organization so it is necessary to apply a resource management agenda, this will undoubtedly improve the management of the project, since you can have more control of the participants .

### "Easy to Use to Manage Tasks and Projects"

August 12, 2020

5.0

Overall, Basecamp is intuitive to use for task and project management purposes. The ability to sort through tasks based on deadlines help keep users on track. Creation of tasks and re-assignment is done with ease.

Pros

The interface makes it easy to determine project deadlines, to easily do re-assignments and communicate with teammates on each task. The ability to view tasks by deadlines is helpful to stay on-track.

Cons

It would be nice if users could track the amount of time spent on each task for time management purposes. Sometimes, re-assignment to the wrong person occurs and any comments or updates on the task will also be emailed to that person. It would be nice to have an "undo" button so there is no need to manually check off the person to ensure they do not receive unnecessary updates.
