January 19, 2018 3.0 Basecamp has helped me to build each of the projects carried out in my company, with exclusive designs and that leave the people who see it, totally impacted on the great scope that I have taken through Basecamp. Pros What I like most about Basecamp is the ease with which projects are created, it is very good to use this software and that in a matter of minutes we already have the first project, along with the functions it has, to add text fields, change colors and add pre-designed designs, I am surprised with the ease of handling of Basecamp, has a very good control of Projects and communication of equipment. Cons I do not like Basecamp prices at all, even the first basic work plan, it has a very high price, I would like Basecamp to diversify its prices, adding many new functions or benefits in each work plan so that people can feel comfortable paying the high prices, or otherwise, decrease the expensive fees a little. Backend Developer Computer Software Used the software for: I used a free trial ### "Old-timer review" December 22, 2018 4.0 I was freelancing when I first worked with Basecamp, we were 3 people on the project, a graphic designer, a marketing/manager, and me, the developer. It was honestly the first time for me to work with such a solution, and I was really impressed at how well it helped us keep track of all the work. But like I mentioned in the cons, it would have also been much better if it had integration with box.com which we were using for file upload, or any git repositories for that matter. I hope I can work with this again so I can make a better judgement, because I'm sure a lot has changed since Basecamp 2. Pros 1\. Very extensive to-do board features, with a lot of options to differentiate between activities, and who needs to work on them. 2. Schedule actually linked to the to-do list, subsequently giving you 2 different ways to view the work that needs to be done. Cons 1\. No integration for other file sharing solutions, git repositories, etc.. 2. Since the time I worked with Basecamp, there have been any improvements on the Android app. I wish my trial wasn't over so I could judge them again. Being able to see not only your tasks, but other people's task along with due dates makes follow up and accountability for timelines much easier. Pros The ability to have a list of tasks and deadlines shared by everyone working on a project. Cons When using templates, the software seems to calculate due dates based on the number of days out from a project creation date. In some cases, it would be more useful to be able to put in a project completion date and have the software calculate due dates by counting backward the number of days before the project you need to have a task done. Would not choose to use if for internal project management. Pros Great tool for managing creative design projects such as brand development, brand style guide development. Like how easy it is to attach & access visuals that accompany creative design projects. Basecamp is widely used by creative agencies. It's super easy to set up and relatively inexpensive to use. Cons For large, complex projects it can get difficult to follow where the project is at. I wouldn't recommend using Basecamp for software development projects for example as the interface gets cluttered and hard to follow. It became an integral part of my life. Pros It's super simple, but has it all, also the color palette is really present for eye. Has a nice old-school touch to it style. The best feature of Basecamp is, that it allows prioritizing the task as per date and keeps notifying it prior to the deadline. Also, allows us to replace the same files and keeps the previous version in its cloud for further use. Pros The most attractive and properly arranged platform which I have come across. Basecamp is widely used all over the world for internal communication and project management to prioritize the task for its employees. The simple and arranged interface allows us to easily access all the stuff like client feedback, project brief, get over to remaining milestones, allows internal communication, and many other features make it stands different from other platforms. This is especially important when it is required to structure and store large amounts of information in this form, presenting different levels of access to users. Cons I don't like that not all major languages are supported on the system, and besides Basecamp is quite expensive, so small companies should consider whether they need to spend money on this software. I really like using this application as It's very easy to use, user-friendly and its interface is very intuitive. Not the kind of application where you'll get intimidated to use. I really like on how it allows me to list all the things that need to be done and assign it to the corresponding person. Cons I've been using this application for quite some time now and I haven't really noticed any problem with it. Adding collaboartors to the project space allows for everyone to stay on track. You can assign jobs to different people so you know who is responsible for what part of the project. Cons The interface is outdated and clunky so you have to rely on the Help feature quite a bit--which isn't always the easiest way to find an answer. We've noticed that when a lot of people are using the software at the same time and working on the same project, the system can get confused with who made the most recent change and it can inadvertently delete your work. The more I use it, the less I like it. Changing settings has had no effect, and I have had to create an email rule to stop the flood. I tried signing out of the app to prevent push notifications, but even after logging out I still receive them. I have found no way to actually see a list of tasks, which I understand is a lot to ask of a task management platform. Thankfully, on my team, I have found that not using the platform at all has not hindered my ability to do my job effectively. Pros The shade of blue they chose as their accent color is easy on the eyes. Cons This is essentially a task management platform that does not give you the ability to see your tasks. It's a collaboration platform that goes out of its way to isolate you from your team. The absolute worst part, however, is that the platform completely ignores notification settings and innundates you with ozens of unwanted emails per day. Review Source M. Serhat D. Pros The platform is lightning fast, very intuitive, the customer service is great and it's super easy to use with a clean UI and no complications. The pricing scheme is very convenient too, because you pay a flat price and not a per user price, which is hard to find nowadays. Cons The BIG con is the feature list, which is really small when compared to similar services. Sure you can integrate it with Zapier and expand it's features, it lacks native features that are pretty much a standard today. It lacks a reporting component, which is vital for our needs. I think this software is for entry-level businesses and not that suitable for medium size and on. Easy to use, and communicate with both company associates, and clients outside of our company. It also has reduced our endless email chains by quite a bit. Pros You can create teams and limit access by user as necessary (there may be some projects that only a few would have access to), but admins have full control. It's especially helpful when we have to bring in a new associate on an existing product. They can see all of the past documentation on the project, and get up to speed very quickly.
