Pros

I really love the 'notify' function which allows you to just notify the team members whose input is required on a particular file or document, vs everyone being bothered every time a change is made to the project.

Cons

The fact that you have to download a file to make changes in it vs being able to make real-time changes by opening it in basecamp; you have to remember to upload the new version and archive the older one.

Pros

This software is really easy to use, and the right Project Manager makes it the perfect program in place. It keeps an easy-to-follow record of project correspondence and it's really easy to switch project statuses to know where every task is in the moment.

Cons

Sometimes Basecamp permissions caused us to only delegate certain Basecamp tasks to Administrators. There were also instances where people had to be "invited" to the program and they reported not being able to see everything in the thread. Introducing new people to the program also required a little more training than expected.

Pros

The app feels fast and provides an excellent venue for managing client communication and managing to-dos.

Cons

There's very little customization in terms of how you manage notifications. I'd love if you could customize what types of pings you receive (or how frequently you get pings).

We are using Basecamp to collaborate with an outside development firm to develop our website and platform. It's been easy to learn and useful in keeping communication streamlined and visible to all stakeholders. I would happily use it again, but am unlikely to implement it internally.

Pros

Pros: - Can easily collaborate with outside teams - Can use for discussion, to-do lists, and sharing of information - Allows for tagging and uploading specific content - Allows for communication and project transparency

Cons

So far Basecamp has been pretty solid for our use-case, using it with a development firm to create our platform. A couple drawbacks I've seen at this point: - Not as visually/aesthetically nice as some other project management tools - Seems better set up for discussions and to-do lists vs. mapping out large projects like other tools

It is really a great way to communicate with people who may be in different locations or time zones. It is a real-time update. The corresponding app is great when you're away from your desk but need to keep an eye on the conversations.

Pros

Being able to instantly communicate with people in different locations. The ability to view shared files and download those same files for reference or editing.

Cons

The search feature is horrible. If you search for a term, it will indeed show all the hits for that term in the discussion stream. However, when you click on an individual hit, it takes you to the general area of conversation where the term was used, not to the specific post.

Overall, Basecamp has streamlined by client communication and allowed me to stop relying so heavily on Dropbox for notifying my team and clients of new document uploads and tasks to be done.

Pros

Basecamp makes is ridiculously easy to get everyone on the same page for project management. I especially like how easy it is for clients to comment on design work.

Cons

If Basecamp could allow for inline commenting and editing of images it could a real powerhouse for designers like myself.

### "Basecamp - our lifesaver"

Pros

Basecamp is a tool that has really helped myself and my team with task management. We are all now responsible for what's on our own plates, whereas the task management was feeding through me previously. This has saved my time, and overall, all of my colleagues' time as well. I like the fact that you are able to see your teammates assignments, so you can see how busy they are/if they can take anything else on. I also really like that it is organized by project.

Cons

A few of my teammates have found it confusing to reassign tasks. Once one person is finished a task and it then gets reassigned to someone else, there has been in a gap in communication reassigning the task (who is in charge of reassigning/notifying). I also wish there was an option to get your tasks emailed to you daily. My current setting is to get my task list email weekly on Mondays, but I am not sure how to change it to daily - or if it is even an option.

Basecamp reduce considerably the quantity of emails during a project. It helps to organize discussions.

Pros

Basecamp is a classic for project managers. I use it mostly for its to do lists. I can assign a task with a due date. It helps a lot to organize conversations around a task or a precise subject. Basecamp is perfect to manage freelancer and organize the work with clients.

Cons

I personally prefer other tools to manage current work and multiple day-to-day tasks with my internal team. Basecamp is perfect for me in order to organize high level work with clients or a few tasks with freelancers. It’s not ideal for complex projects/too many tasks.

I will not use this software again. I will make a new review if substantial updates to the system are made. Otherwise, I am happy with my choice to leave them at the starting line.

Pros

They make an attempt to keep people connected. Not much I can really say. Used it for over 2 years and didn't get excited about it once.

Cons

I hate the dashboard. It has got to go for sure. The idea is great but there is absolutely no ease of use. I hated trying to find anything that I wasn't attached to. Maybe suggestions of people to add to the collaboration without assigning tasks to them. Just in case we forget someone needs the info but does not need to take part until complete.

Easy to set up and easy to use for the project manager; fairly intuitive with a limited feature group, so it fits for smaller ventures.

Pros

Simplicity and flow, built more on written communications than visual. I used it to keep project management organized for clients, showing clear goals, metrics, and content all in one place.

Cons

Few of my clients, or referrals, ended up using it. I think it's because it appeals to a specific type of user, one who is good at writing and organizing which many clients are not. They would get lost in all the detail (more a critique of them than Basecamp), still Basecamp tended to get them lost, or not wanting to use it again, and asking me to email everything.

Cons

Can increase your emails considerably. There is control over that but often an entire team is notified about things that only a couple of people need to see.

Pros

It was easy to post projects/needs so anybody available on the team could claim and work on the step. Easy to communicate amongst team members and know the status of the step/project.

Cons

Sometimes a bit cumbersome, especially if the team member wasn't good at keeping updates.

I really enjoyed using Basecamp because it was a much better way to communicate with remote members than emails.

Pros

It combines, tracks, and organizes \_business tasks\_ and store relevant files and attachments in a way that is easy to look up. It sort of creats a shared document and progress tracker in a natural way. It's easy to share acess to contributors outside your organization (clients, vendors, freelancers, etc).

Cons

Unfortunately, we had to manage a separate software for code sharing and repo management, which requires two platforms. If your product is software oriented, it may have some limitations.

I have multiple websites and freelancers I use. And I was managing them and their tasks via email which was a nightmare. Then a consultant recommended Basecamp. And it made managing everything so much easier and faster. Things no longer slipped through the cracks.

Pros

I love the fact that it has a very quick learning curve unlike other project management software that feel like an over kill.

Cons

I wish there was an ability to set up recurring tasks. I am surprised that this feature is missing.

It is a very useful platform to coordinate, collaborate and manage all the tasks and projects you have, assign tasks to other people, track the fulfillment of tasks, schedule reminders, plan your week, your month or the time of execution of the project and you should only be aware of who is carrying out their tasks and the critical nodes to reconsider

Cons

I would like in addition to the individual calendar for each project a general one, as Manager of Commuting Management it is important to have a global vision of all the projects together

Easy organization and delegation. It was very customizable to your preferences (alerts, settings, etc). Great for projects that include many members of a team to keep everyone on the same page.

Pros

Basecamp is very userfriendly and interactive. My company uses it for conference and event planning - although this is not necessarily what it was created for it can easily be used for different needs.

Cons

Updated happened frequently and new things were always coming up. Also did not like how it does not have a sorting option (chronological, alphabetically) - everything had to be dragged and dropped into the order you wanted it in.
