### "Star Chapter Support Always There"

Our organization has been using SC for 8+ years. I can do a lot on my own and it is so easy to reach out for help.

Pros

The tech support is amazing. They answer timely and are so helpful via email or on a call.

Cons

There are some aspects of the design that can be frustrating. If so, then I just reach out for support and I'm good to go!

Star chapter is a great website company. They have accommodated our institutions needs.

Pros

When our organization first subscribed to this platform, we were very unsure of theire capabilities. As we increased our programs, accommodated us with what we ask for. This website design company is awesome.

Cons

Faster access to questions. The turn around for answering questions is 24 hours. It should be less than that.

Our overall experience with has been a good one. It makes managing events, dealing with registration and tracking attendance a breeze.

Pros

Star Chapter is great for overall chapter management. With registration and email communication built in, you have an all-in-one system that saves both money and time by not having to use multiple platforms.

Cons

I would like to see more tutorials made available so I don't have to reach out to tech support because I can't find what I'm looking for. Changes can be frustrating without knowledge of coding. Response time seems to be a little longer than when we first started using.

Pros

What I like most about is that it's easy to navigate and easy to update content. This is the most important aspect for me.

Cons

My least favorite aspect of is learning the newsletter function vs other email functions.

After about two years, it has been a mostly good experience.

Pros

We like the fact that automated membership tasks help save the treasurer time.

Cons

The back end is not at all intuitive. It's hard to use unless the user is experienced in website design. Also, we don't like that some countries where we have members are blocked.

We've had excellent experience with Star Chapter. My only problem is I'm the old guy trying to learn the new tech.

Pros

The knowledge of the support staff is always great. When we set up meetings with them their communication is thorough as well as their follow up.

Cons

There is SO much it does and I've not even scratched the surface. I need to set aside time for more training.

Pros

is great for organizations because it allows them to keep everything in one place: their website, communications, members/contacts, events, registration, and even the ability to take payments.

Cons

can be a little cumbersome to learn how things are interconnected, but once you get the hang of it, you're golden. The Knowlegebase is a great resource too when you're stuck on something you can't figure out how to do!

I am still on the learning curve, but I am considering exploring other options.

Pros

i Am Not familiar with other similar products, so nothing to compare it to. However I was up and running relatively quickly, not efficiently, but operating. The initial help session was very helpful

Cons

Even as a neophyte, there are aspects of the site that I have suggested be improved, yet no action is taken.

Pros

As far as software systems go, is easy to learn and yields a great product/website/management system. Our association's website looks clean and professional. We can do all functions of association management in one place--membership management, event planning and registration, reports, newsletters, invoicing, etc. It's really simple and saves us time, energy, and money.

Cons

doesn't have immediate call in support available, so although the help techs are extremely knowledgable and can always guide and "fix" an issue, it does take a few days to schedule a call/screen share. So if there is a pressing question or issue you need addressed, know it isn't going to be resolved that day. Note: There is an extensive knowledge base where many answers can be found, but if you're not the most tech savvy, sometimes it's easier to talk to someone.

### "Cheap but not worth it"

I’ve used it for over 15 years. Overall it works ok. But more functionality would be good, better email management and financial management. You have to use their merchant which was cheap and now is more expensive than authorize.net.

Pros

All in one service, except for financials- quickbooks has been rumored to be added but that was over a year ago and it’s still not working.

Cons

Email design and reporting, selecting who you are sending them to is not as good as constant contact.

It is a good product and helps us with chapter management and event organization. With additional options for reporting and arrangements set up - it would be better.

Pros

There are a lot of support materials and videos, and the knowledge is intuitive and can be learned and applied easily.

Cons

There are very limited options, payment processing is expensive, reporting is static, and it can't be modified a lot. Would like more reporting options and templates.

It is a great BASIC service for organizations that do not need more than basic functionality and features and do not have a web wizard on staff. I believe there are better services out there, but the trade-off is expense and experience/knowledge in working with websites.

Pros

Ease of setup and updating the site with current material

Cons

We have not had some of the functionality that other competitors provide; batch membership dues processing/payment, integration with member ID badges to swipe and log attendance at events, no ability to send automated "attendance certification" email to members who attended an event (we could do this initially but was lost during a recent update to email functions). There have been other features that we would like to have but don't recall right now.

It has been the best program I have used and I have worked with three different programs over the last few years as I manage multiple groups.

Pros

The ease of event management from setting up registration to handling check in.

Cons

I have a little difficulty with web changes but that is probably more my lack of knowledge than the program itself

I think the startup cost is still a little high for small non profits but it is worth it.

The service works well and provides a lot of value.

Pros

Event setup, management, and rsvp tracking are all pretty seamless.

Cons

Costs are high. Annual costs, monthly costs, and per transaction costs add up. Many of our attendees bypass and pay at the door to avoid those higher processing fees.

Pros

Getting a meeting set up and sending out an email about the meeting and figuring out who is attending and making badges

Cons

It’s very cumbersome and I don’t feel it’s user-friendly at all. It’s not intuitive.

Very cumbersome and difficult to use. Hard to get anyone to help.

Pros

It's nice that I'm able to create an event, send out emails to members, and have them login and pay all in the same place. (When it works)

Cons

It has been very difficult for members to renew their membership or new members to join using Star Chapter. I have tried to contact Star Chapter, but it seems they don't have enough people and can only offer a call back at another time. I'm a volunteer on a local chapter, I don't have time to sit at my computer waiting for a call back.

Reason for choosing StarChapter

A past \[sensitive content hidden\] in our chapter decided to switch from a web designer who was managing our site. Not sure why he made the decision, it's been nothing but bad.

We had some hiccups on setting up our email side of the system. But was able to get them worked out. More of a "I didn't know this about" kind of situation.

Expensive, but fine overall. I like the reporting function and the dashboard as they are very useful to use in completing my association reports.

Consolidates functions and seems to be an effective platform.

Cons

I think that pushing "woke" DEI ideology through their newsletters is grossly inappropriate. This is supposed to be a platform supporting professional organizations, not an indoctrination center.

I've worked with Star Chapter since 2010. They have been responsive, easy to work with and great to problem solve with. I like the ease of use for my staff as well as our volunteers that want to dig in on the admin side. We have about 20 clients on the platform which allows all of our staff to work on something in . We are able to enhance other websites based on new features we see or something a client asks for on one we can implement for others. They have been a great partner.

Pros

For an affordable price, your association can host their website and manage it easily. It has all of the features needed where you don't have to have 1000 platforms and systems to manage and keep track of logins for.

Cons

The biggest complaint I hear is that the meeting registration has one to two too many pages to click through vs. being a one page sign up. That would be a great feature to enhance.
