### "A set of tools that keeps your data safe."

July 2, 2021

5.0

Bitdefender is a great tool that gives us confidence that our data is safe when our partners browse the internet and download large databases to work with. Its price is low compared to the benefits it provides. I really recommend this product especially for SMEs and personal use.

Pros

The most valuable features that our team like are those related to the anonymous and safe browsing. Bitdefender is also easy to use and automatically reduce its resources usage when you are working.

Cons

I would really like this product was faster when analyze our systems. Usually it can take until 9 hours and this process has a great impact in our resources performance.

Reason for choosing Bitdefender GravityZone

I chose Bitdefender over other products because it is cheaper and its performance is high.

### "One of the best AVs out there"

March 10, 2025

5.0

As an MSP, we have been using Bitdefender for over 2 years now. It sends emails to our monitoring team to notify us of potential events so that we can respond as needed. No need to stare at a dashboard to monitor endpoints. It integrates with our RMM well and is extremely customizable based on our clients' individual needs.

Pros

I can set it and forget it. Monitoring made simple. Integrates with other tools well. Can easily automate installation.

Cons

It is VERY protective by default, but is easily configurable to fit the needs of the endpoint.

Integration and automation. With ESET, it wasn't the easiest to integrate with some of our other tools. Bitdefender is way more capable of integrating and make automation a breeze.

### "Catastrophic Breach of Trust: Compromised Perimeter and Active Cover-Up"

May 23, 2026

1.0

I do cybersecurity for a living, but I bought Bitdefender’s 5-seat Ultimate Security Plus Extended plan so I wouldn't have to play sysadmin for my kids at home. I caught their software completely ignoring malicious payloads. It actively green-labeled them as safe, and if a link was clicked, it did nothing to block the malicious site. I found 1,100 bypassed threats sitting in just one inbox. Across a 5-seat plan, that is over 5,500 active threats they completely missed. To settle the dispute, they promised to migrate us to a secure enterprise GravityZone environment. Instead, they pulled a bait-and-switch and dumped my account into a 30-day trial. When I served them a formal Notice of Breach \[sensitive content hidden\], their engineers immediately pushed a silent "ninja patch" to artificially tag the bypassed payloads in my logs, actively trying to cover their tracks. Bold-faced lying and running a cover-up while leaving endpoints exposed is a massive ethical failure. I have all timestamped logs, chat transcripts, and the order receipt \[sensitive content hidden\] secured. Do not trust them with your environment.

Pros

Absolutely none. A clean user interface is completely worthless when the software actively green-lights credential-harvesting threats and drops them into the inbox.

Cons

The baseline Web Shield SDK is fundamentally broken. Internal support admitted in writing \[sensitive content hidden\] that it cannot intercept basic phishing threats without an upgraded ATS module. Worse, when confronted, the company utilizes deceptive bait-and-switch tactics, dumping paid users into crippled 30-day trials instead of honoring negotiated enterprise settlements.

### "Bitdefender for the win!"

April 18, 2025

5.0

My experience with Bitdefender has been amazing. We have a three year contract with them and will defiantly re-knew with another three years.

Pros

Bitdefender customer response time is impeccable. When it comes to an intrusion notification to a response to a question I have. The response time is unmatched.

Cons

One con that comes at the top of my head is the Web-GUI. Especially the part when it comes to whitelisting a website. If the website tabs to a sub-URL but has the beginning matching. Bitdefender does not care it will still block that portion of the website. Which is annoying, but it is still good to see that specifics need to be entered to allow whitelisting.

### "Affordable Business Security perfect for SMBs"

December 6, 2024

5.0

This was my first foray into setting up a SMB Internet Security program, and as such there was a pretty steep learning curve for me to figure out what the do's and don'ts of setup are. However, once it was set up it very much takes care of itself with minimal interaction from me. I occasionally have to whitelist certain things, or adjust a couple of settings here and there, but for the most part we've been running it for a little over three years with no incidents.

Pros

Once it is set up, GravityZone takes a very hands-off approach to Internet Security. It was easy to install and it updates regularly without having to manually push updates. It is a large program, but it doesn't use a ton of system resources, which is great because some of our hardware is older.

Cons

Initial setup was a bit complicated. I had to contact them a few times in order to get all my bearings with the program.

The price and the ability to add on extra products (such as patch management) were crucial in making the decision. The decision to stay has been easy since we have had no serious incidents and no complaints about resource usage or slowing down.

### "Excellent business antivirus solution"

February 24, 2025

5.0

I have used Bitdefender for several years both for my internal computers and also for all of my clients. I manage endpoints via the gravity zone online portal when it comes to deploying new devices and managing existing ones.

Pros

I love how functional Bitdefender is, how it will run on client devices with minimal impact or disruption to the client and also how wasy it is to deploy and manage endpoints from a centralised portal.

Cons

I sometimes find the dashboard complicated and sometimes things are hard to find such as when I am trying to exclude a file from scanning modules or temporarily disable antivirus protection on a particular endpoint.

### "Good protection, but slow response on software bugs"

September 21, 2021

3.0

Besides the two major bugs I've encountered, my experience has been good in the 5 years I've been using this software. The Android app is solid and quite fast, and support is attentive.

Pros

Generally speaking, the software is weel designed and with many normal features. It's not pricey and you will be able to use it across multiple Windows, Mac, iOS and Android devices.

Cons

When they release a version with a bug, they take forever to fix it. In 2020 a bug on the Mac version made the software freeze and made the Mac slower. There were active threads on the companies' forums, and it took them over 3 months to fix this issue. And in 2021, a bug automatically boots the VPN app on Mac, even though they have the option to turn this off. This bug was reported at least in early February 2021, the company acknowledge the issue and in mid-September 2021 they haven't been able to fix this simple issue. Also, the VPN app is a paid feature, which would be better to include in the normal subscription package. If not, it would be better to leave this app away of the offering, and instead, make it an optional download.

Reason for choosing Bitdefender GravityZone

I was not confortable using an antivirus and security system made by a \[SENSITIVE CONTENT\] company. Plus, Bitdefender had a cheaper price.

### "Not a good option for SMBs without dedicated IT support"

November 11, 2025

1.0

For a small business owner who cannot afford a dedicated IT support the time requirements to manage GZ to simply install a lot of the software desired for the business cost much more in my time than whatever discount savings I may have obtained. No doubt GZ is great for those with a need to centrally manage their security and/or have the necessary IT support/inclination to manage the policies, etc. However, for a small team (less than 5), setting up individual machines was far quicker, less hassle, and less cost.

Pros

It is obviously high end security and is well rated by professional reviewers. However, that security is often too strict and installation of many software packages becomes frustratingly difficult.

Cons

I could never simply pause the security protection. No doubt for IT professionals setting up all the necessary components for a power user, end-point policies, etc. is relatively simple. However, I hit brick walls every time I tried. Support articles were frustratingly incomplete, either assuming completion of prior steps, or not achieving desired results when (I believe) following through step by step. No doubt I was missing something meant to already be in place, or misunderstood, or something...

June 4, 2022

We used this application to protect the computers in the company against external attacks and we used it so that users do not get viruses from downloading files.

Pros

Cons

### "One of the best antivirus, antimalware, products in the market"

December 12, 2020

5.0

One of the few software products that actually work, and work well in the background without constant interruptions, or requiring constant attention. The scanning of a complete system can be done very quickly and unobtrusively. Warnings appear only when there is an actual potential problem, otherwise the software works very well and very effectively. We just wish that all software programs worked in a similar fashion.

Pros

Very easy to install and use. Non intrusive unless there is an issue. The price is very reasonable and support is always available.

Cons

Compared to other anti-virus and anti-software programs, this one does not appear to have any problems or flaws that would detract from its use.

### "A Good Small Business Antivirus Solution"

August 21, 2019

4.0

It's a solid and well priced antivirus for a small business. It includes a special ransomware "vaccine" which gives me a bit of peace of mind as ransomware is the new boogey man in the cyber security world. Their support reply promptly and I've never had trouble getting a hold of them. You really have to keep after it and do an audit once a month to make sure there aren't any duplicate instances and that all computers have checked in, but aside from that it's set and forget.

Pros

The software is easy to set up and install, and the admin interface is fairly straight forward. They support MFA out of the box and that's essential for an antivirus software. I also appreciate the ability to organize the computers into sub folders that represent my organizations structure. You can apply security policies by folder grouping and this makes it easy to target more exposed groups like customer service or traveling employees with more aggressive security policies. Finally, reports and notifications can be set up to be sent by email which is essential for when infections occur.

Cons

The client tends to get confused somewhat frequently. If an employee travels and connects to many different networks the admin console will sometimes show duplicates of that same client and thusly take up 2 licenses. These clones are easy enough to delete, but it's still annoying. The scanning tools are fine for routine scans, but for customer scans you must specify a target on the system. For OS X this is often the root directory for me, and for Windows it's %Win\_Dir%. I'd prefer just a "scan the whole machine" checkbox rather than playing around with this. Especially considering I usually do a custom scan when something is going wrong. Each separate admin has their own separate "console" and they have to set it up on their own. This is frustrating when you have more than one admin and each one has to customize and set up their own reports, dashboards, etc. It's also confusing that each admin only sees their own tasks. I can't see what my colleague has issued for scans recently and so I might scan or update the same machine twice for no reason. Generally, being able to see what work a colleague has done, especially in addressing a crisis, is very helpful. They have a patch management "plugin", but it's strictly for Windows. I have a dual OS environment so I am forced to look elsewhere and would prefer a singular endpoint management solution that encompasses patch management and antivirus.

### "Bitdefender GravityZone is a good cloud-based antivirus solution for medium and large businesses."

November 13, 2022

5.0

Bitdefender GravityZone has a user interface that makes it simple for anyone who doesn't have much experience with computers or antivirus programs in general.

Pros

The GravityZone interface is easy to use and cloud based. It's real time, so you can see what’s happening with your system at any moment of the day. The firewall administration tool is also simple to navigate and user friendly, which makes it easy to set up new rules or change existing ones.GravityZone is a cloud-based solution, which means it can be used with any internet connection. It doesn't require installation on your devices or computers, but instead just needs to be downloaded and installed on the router you want to protect. While this may sound like an inconvenience, it's actually quite convenient because it protects all devices connected to your network--even those that lack features like antivirus software or malware protection built into their operating systems.GravityZone is also a real-time malware protection solution. This means it will actively monitor all traffic coming through your ISP and block anything that looks suspicious before its able to affect your device or computer. You'll still need anti-virus software installed for more serious threats (like viruses), but GravityZone will keep hackers out of the way so they don't have time to do any damage!

Cons

Overall, GravityZone is a good product. It's easy to use, and the cloud-based technology helps keep your computer safe. The only downside is that it is very expensive for a small business.

### "Our IT Developers said we needed to change over to this..."

February 27, 2018

5.0

Fewer spams and no more virus threats!

Pros

When our IT gurus said we should change our malware/anti-virus software AGAIN, they said this should be the last change, hopefully . They told us that with the sophistication of viruses and malware out there, our current software wasn't adequate enough to keep us protected. They also told us that Bitdefender has one of the highest rankings when it comes to providing the best protection against ransomware and hackers. From my POV, I can honestly vouch for the fact that the number of junk, spam and unsolicited email have been greatly reduced...and that makes me very happy. I don't have time to read the legit emails let alone take the time to clean out my mailbox...especially the spams!

Cons

Backup services or mobile protection are not included with Bitdefender Internet Security. However, both of these features are available with Bitdefender Total Security at a higher price.

### "Strongest anti virus available on market"

July 2, 2019

5.0

My overall experience with bitdefender is very good, it's a reliable protection solution.

Pros

Bitdefender always proved me to be a very reliable solution for endpoint protection. It is simple to implement, easy to configure and there's no need of dedicated server for managing your policies and things like that. Also, you can configure various different types of policies and apply each one on a group of machines. So, you can adjust the configurations to match the needs of your environment. Currently, all of our customers run Bitdefender as they primary protection solution.

Cons

Bitdefender try to block everything they think it's malicious, and sometimes it causes trouble by blocking false-positives. I don't really know if this is a downside, but annoys frequently

### "Worked until it didn't"

December 4, 2018

4.0

Based on the advice of my point of sale software company I installed Bitdefender onto my server to take care of viruses that got past my other antivirus software that I was using. It worked great until suddenly it became incompatible with the POS software. We had a very frustrating couple of months of having the POS computers freeze up. We ultimately figured out that it was the anti-virus software not working with the POS software. We removed Bitdefender and installed other anti-virus software and our problems stopped. I ultimately blame our POS software for not being capable of working with a major anti-virus software and not the other way around.

Pros

I took viruses off of my computer that another anti virus software missed. It did what it said it was going to do.

Cons

It stopped working or wasn't compatible with the POS software that I had on my computers. I believe that it was more of an issue with my POS software company's compatibility than an issue with Bitdefender.

### "Total Security."

February 14, 2019

5.0

Just great to have peace of mind when it comes to online security.

Pros

This software is like having a personal guard on your laptop, it does everything to keep your laptop safe and secure in the background without you having to even worry about it or give it a second thought. Once you do the initial set up it seems to work in its own way I guess it just read what you're using and monitors the sites you visit. Very secure have had no issues with viruses or any breaches of security on my laptop.

Cons

I did find for a few weeks after I set up the software I had a lot of pop-ups from the software checking if certain sites were ok and when I was using documents or forms asking if I wanted them stored elsewhere or giving additional security but this passes I assume the software learns about your practices and is able to judge what to do with certain things, so I see the pop-ups rarely now.

I have been using this software for years, both personally and in enterprise environments, and it's performance has only improved with time. We have top notch protection against viruses, spam, Trojans, etc. and never have a complaint from any user that has the agent installed in their machines.

Pros

### "My REview for Bitdefender GaravityZone"

February 17, 2023

4.0

Pros

I appreciate that Bitdefender GravityZone provides strong defense against viruses, ransomware, and other dangers. Additionally, it offers strong security analytics that let customers immediately spot unusual activity on their networks. Bitdefender GravityZone is a fantastic option for organizations of all sizes because it is simple to adopt and operate.

Cons

The occasionally sluggish scanning performance of Bitdefender GravityZone is one of its least preferred features. Also, folks who are not tech-savvy may find the interface's intricacy to be intimidating. Another drawback for consumers who desire more control over their security settings is the lack of customizability.

### "Solid antivirus for your MSP business"

March 18, 2021

4.0

Overall, this is a great product that is compatible with everything we throw on it, including Macs. It's fairly easy to deploy, although the automatic removal of old AV doesn't always work.

Pros

Bit Defender is easy to set up and deploy. You can create a couple of baseline policies, then clone them to customize them for other clients. If you change something in the original policy, it updates all of them so it's easy to manage your exceptions client-wide. It also has great features such as internet blocking by category, blacklist or whitelist, as well as many modules such as an antiransomware "vaccine" which I have not seen anywhere else.

Cons

The hardest part of using this is the reporting. We haven't been able to integrate it with Autotask/Datto, so you need to actually log into the dashboard daily.
