Pros The easy flow from one section to another, I like that he does not feel overwhelming it does not have a lot of information on one page. Also easy to edit information. Implementing a conflict alert feature would greatly enhance the usability of the calendar and prevent scheduling errors. You literally can do anything all in one program. No more multiple programs being up at once when you are using Neos. Cons The option to "add document" to existing PDF's in a clients Neos folder is great but the downside to that is having to search through tons of documents that have been added by others throughout the day. It would be nice to pull from documents that have been added to the specific clients file instead of searching through days of documents that do not apply to that particular client. September 14, 2022 5.0 The greatest problem Neos accomplished is the ability to fully use the software from anywhere. My employees and work from the office or their homes seamlessly. Features such as document management and Outlook integration has revolutionized efficiency in our law office. If we ever have an issue, the support team is very quick and helpful to resolve any issues that may come up. As an owner of the firm, I love being able to use my Dashboards to quickly measure the health of the firm. Pros Managing every aspect of my cases efficiently from anywhere. I love being able to track my Intakes and communicate with potential new client easily. I love being able to standardize the way all cases are handled in my office. Document management is extremely powerful. Full integration with Microsoft Outlook is awesome. I love the reporting features and dashboards that allows me measure KPIs efficiently. Our transition to Neos was quick and easy with great support from the Neos team Cons Neos always is offering new features almost monthly. I commonly interact with the suggestion portal (Ideas & Enhancements) where user experiences and wishes are actively addressed and implemented. Reason for choosing Neos I chose Neos as it provided the best productivity for the most performed tasks of the employees in my office. Some softwares may have had a nice bell or whistle. I looked at the most performed tasks and evaluated which software offered the most ease of use for my staff. I did not want to burden my staff with extra tasks on the things they do everyday/all day. NEOS does everything that Needles did and the service is excellent. We couldn’t ask for more. Pros NEOS is cloud-based and it does everything Needles did, and Needles was the king of personal injury case management software. What’s not to like?! Cons Haven’t utilized it’s intake program yet so I can’t comment on it. Attorney Law Practice Used the software for: Less than 6 months ### "A Very Expensive Microsoft 365 License w/ Very Little Additional Functionality" March 13, 2021 2.0 Implementation was not great, and I was not migrating ANY data. I still do not believe I have everything I was supposed to get. I paid $1,000.00 to do the work during my onboarding that could have been done prior to my implementation. Because Neos requires 365, during onboarding you will get to make all your Microsoft 365 and Neos connections. I assume I paid $1,000 for someone to tell me how to make the connections and 3 hours of training? Not sure. I also was not told about a bug that Neos had which prevented data from being updated and saved more than once during my implementation. I did my implementation on a Friday, and attempted to input my cases into the system on the following Saturday and could not get anything to save. I was told the following Monday about the issue, was told it was a known issue, and would be resolved in a day or so. I spent all day Saturday trying to figure out what I was doing wrong for nothing. It was ultimately fixed. But just a frustrating experience. Everyone has been genuinely nice and understanding, the limitations of the software is where my issues really are. Pros Neos is customizable, which is nice. You can add whatever field you want to add to any tab. It allows you to collect and input whatever data you want and you are not nearly as constrained as you are with Trial Works in terms of customization. It has a nice display. Grouping contacts is easy. Apparently, there are a bunch of reports you can use. Cons Functionality is not there. Commonsense things are missing from this platform. The system relies on and appears to be limited by Microsoft 365, which itself can be spotty. Neos is just Microsoft 365 apps all tied together, under a sleek looking display, but adds almost nothing to the 365-experience. 90% of the Neos platform is bundling all-things 365 together through a sleek looking display. The other 10% that you would expect Neos to have incorporated and built-in is missing. Templates have to be saved and then generated to be tested. You have to constantly change in and out of various tabs when creating a template to get your bookmarks. Good luck finding bookmarks for pronouns. I was told by Neos I should consider writing gender neutral. Ultimately, found out that I could code an if than statement in Needles should I want to use pronouns. Each bookmark in Neos will eat up a line or two of your template, which makes for errors. You can calendar within Neos, but you can't invite clients or "providers" or anyone outside your firm within Neos' calendaring feature, so it's an useless feature and users will need to rely Outlook. If you generate an email within Neos, by clicking an email link within a case, it is not saved unless you tag it in Neos. If you email a document from a case in Neos it does not prompt you with the various case contacts associated with your case so you must click through various tabs in your case file to get the email address(es) you need. Alternatives considered [TrialWorks](https://www.capterra.com/p/2599/TrialWorks/) Reason for choosing Neos I opened a law firm. The firm I came from used Trial Works, which is a clunkier, more expensive, but as I have come to find, a way better case management platform than Neos. I was an Admin at my previous firm and KNOW Trial Works. However, in making my decision of software, I was being cheap and was sold on, “Neos is the best of Needles and Trial Works put into a single platform.” It is EMPHATICALLY not. I was told that if Neos makes template creation so much easier than Trial Works, it does not. I went with Neos and should have either paid the money for Trial Works or looked elsewhere. Worst decision I ever made was getting Neos!" August 31, 2021 1.0 Absolutely horrific! Pros The ideas behind the product are good. But they are just ideas and goals. The product does not work. Cons Neos should not be released. Its constantly freezes up. Data is lost. They promise to bring over data from Needles or another system but they can not. It runs extremely slow. We have all brand new computers and pay for the highest speed internet possible and the system is so slow its ridiculous and unusable. Reason for choosing Neos I trusted the sales team. We have all the tools necessary to track and maintain all cases, and it's a great feeling to not wonder about what's going on in a case because you can find the answer immediately in the program. Pros I like that there always are new features being added in addition to the old, great features the program already contains. I like the daily reminders on each case keeping us current and up to date on all our files. I like the simplicity of the calendar and the integration with Outlook. I like the time that I am saved by document generation. I like to be able to directly text clients from the platform. I like the ease of entry of parties, cases, etc. I like the various reports that can be created with the click of a button. Cons When you create a new calendar item, it automatically sets the time to 12:00 a.m. if you do not change the time, you will ultimately miss that calendared item. Our checklists are very specific and tasks are coded by job title so nothing ever falls through the cracks. The feedback from across the board on our team has been positive. Pros Neos is very easy to use and has a quick learning curve. The system is very intuitive. Our team loves the checklist system because nothing falls through the cracks that way. The Value Tab is great for managing the financial side of the case and the notes system makes it easy to organize data and review files. The outlook integrations are seamless and make posting emails to files very easy. Cons We moved from a server based document system to a cloud based system. That comes with challenges that are not unique to Neos. Neos has done a great job in that regard but it has been an adjustment for our team. Paralegal Legal Services Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "Could be Amazing, but they won't stop breaking it" September 27, 2022 2.0 Neos has created more problems than solutions for me. Although the features are impressive, they have to work correctly to be a feature. Help articles are a bit of a joke. For example, in coding templates with advance field codes in Word, Neos has examples of if->then functions in their help files. However, even with proper coding, the if -> then function won't always work. There have been some issues with documents coded with "ALL CAPS" fields as well, which is a common thing to use in legal documents. The code sometimes gets ignored entirely when "ALL CAPS" is chosen. You can submit tickets, but never really know what the status is once it's sent to "development." Pros Customization options are the best part of Neos. It has potential. Cons Neos will slow down to unusable speeds, typically when trying to access the calendar view, but also randomly. The calendar is always problematic. After implementation of Neos, it kept altering our calendar, and some entries were deleted. That was terrifying for a legal firm. While generally I'd appreciate regular updates, if they are not fully tested, they should not be rolled out. Almost every update (other than small hotfixes) has caused numerous errors. Eventually, they will fix them, but the first week or so after any update results in error message after error message. Most recently, the error messages for "Failure to Load Data" or "Failure to Save Data" have become a nuisance. Be prepared to constantly refresh, reload, go to incognito mode, try again and still have the same issues. The document indexing between various views will show different documents (i.e. list view may show indexed items that no longer exist in the file). If you have a problem that is not a "system" problem as deemed by Neos, you will likely never hear back from "development" when your issue is escalated. I've had tickets open in excess of a year, and even with follow-up requests, no solutions. Often, technical support knows less about how to use the program than our end users. They have been telling us for over a year that they would fix the calendar function. They made us switch to Microsoft Outlook. Neos does not properly integrate with Outlook. Links are constatnly broken. Searches are extemey slow. Pros organization of all aspects of case management. like many other software products, it has more functions than we need. Moreoever, Neos is committed to keeping the platform updated, so they are constantly adding and upgrading. Cons Neos can seem pricey to begin with, but well worth the investment. I have used Needles in general for the last 6 years so its something that I know and feel comfortable using and havent had many issues that werent easily fixed. Pros I like that it is cloud based and I can log into anywhere I have cell or wifi connection. Helps when I need to work from home or if I am having to travel for work I can easily get access to what I need to assist in handling calls for work. Cons Sometimes it glitches a lot and you have to completely close out and sometimes restart to be able to log back into the system.
