The initial change from a server based program to a cloud based program was challenging. Learning new things is good, but can also be frustrating. Once I learned how to use Neos and how it integrated with our other apps, I would never go back to any other option. Pros Everything you can think of that is necessary for legal case management, is contained within Neos. Moreoever, Neos is committed to keeping the platform updated, so they are constantly adding and upgrading. Cons Neos can seem pricey to begin with, but well worth the investment. It will likely pay for itself in your ability to take on and manage more cases. Support existed during the dating phase then after contract it became all but nonexistent. My staff reports requests for support are responded to with sarcasm and humifaction. Shop around. try other systems. Add an escape provision to the contract that if you are not satisfied yo may cancel. with full refund. It was a bad choice to use Neos. (It was represented Neos was better than Trialworks, the preceding system - NOT TRUE) Pros Neos might be slightly than a paper file Cons Extremely difficult to use, Prior system Trialworks was intuitive. Neos is not intuitive in any way. Very cumbersome to use. Multiple steps required to perform almost every function. Customer support all but non existent AFTER you enter into contract - just use the "?" and listen watch video library. I don't know how I would be able to manage the number of files and tasks in a day without NEOS. It is also a very user-friendly case management system. Easy to teach new employees (and attorneys!) Pros We are "Nuts for NEOS" in our office. It is the heart of our practice. NEOS enables us to have our files at our fingertips, calendaring is easy and the ability to interact with other programs makes life very easy. If you are working in a law firm, NEOS is a must! Customer Support is always available and very helpful, even the NEOS University is great! Don't have to worry about the security of our files - 2 factor authentication to log in is a plus. I am not in charge of the cost for our case management systems, but NEOS is work every penny! You definitely get the value for the money spent for the amount of time saved to have your files at your fingertips as well as documents and the calendar interaction with Outlook! Cons Needs some improvements when it switched over from Needles. Some actions were easier in Needles that are no longer available. Its intake, tabs, documents, financial and and even calendar options all contribute to creating daily functions as efficient as possible. Cons What I most dislike is its recent lag and slower loading times. This may be due to the recent large updates. These lags don't make it inaccessible but is a noticeable difference from older models. That said, while the core system is strong, delays around integrations and communication have been frustrating and have limited our ability to fully leverage the platform from a reporting and growth standpoint. With better responsiveness, Neos could be significantly more impactful. Pros Neos does a good job of keeping everything centralized and organized, which makes day-to-day operations smoother across the firm. It helps our teams stay aligned, keeps cases moving, and provides consistent data we can rely on. From my side, having one system that supports case flow, reporting, and visibility across departments is a big plus. Cons The biggest downside has been around integrations and responsiveness. Despite submitting a simple request for read-only API access, we haven’t received any response for weeks. This has limited our ability to implement offline conversion tracking and build reporting dashboards leadership is actively asking for. December 16, 2024 5.0 I like the regular emails from Neos with updates, training opportunities, and communication from them. It was a very difficult transition from TrialWorks at first, but I think we all appreciate all the advantages Neos has. Pros I love the ability to personalize Neos: the staff and default tasks, the checklists, the case dates, even the layout views for each person. However, the absolute best feature for me are the customizable reports and "living" Dashboards. I created several of those and am constantly referring to them to keep organized. I can't not mention the support crew. They are all so knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly. Cons The Neos calendar. When scheduling a calendar item from Neos, the case name does not show up on the calendar; you have to manually type in the case name in the subject line.
