It was great and did what it did very well.

Pros

It was very easy and basic to use. Got what i needed for quotes and was integrated with a design software so takeoffs from drawings were great.

Cons

There was nothing after the quote was done. at the time it was not a complete package and when we chatted with them it was in their plans but was going to take to long to develop and we needed something quicker

DynaSCAPE has brought our designs to the next necessary level.

Pros

Easy to use once learned, love the color design, like having a plant picture catalogue option

Cons

We did have trouble figuring out how to integrate our own plant pictures at first but so happy we finally did.

We currently use the system to give clients a clear, professional view of our landscape proposals. We would like to expand into other DynaScape products, but cannot currently find the benefit to expand when additional software is almost too expensive for a small family owned and operated company.

Pros

Design is fairly easy. It's helpful to use the square footage calculator when doing estimates on materials. I also like the feature where you can create plant lists based on phases and have them divided in the Excel sheet too.

Cons

I wish the color set up mode was a little easier to work with. Sometimes, when copying and moving lines to create your color set up layer, the system will select more than one line, or sometimes it won't intelligently group lines together.

Dynascape does make drawing designs fast and easy and enables me to present a professional finished plan to my clients.

Pros

While there is some learning curve to make the drawing aspects quick and easy to use it doesn't take the long. Revisions are made fast and simple because of the software.

Cons

It would be better if the software could be integrated into a CAD based program to make it easier to share designs with contractors. I have watched tutorials that seemed to include features that my version does not have which has been frustrating since I keep mine up to date. I have had difficulty with customer service not being able to solve issues with my subscription showing as inactive when it should be current and active.

The benefits we realize with Dynascape are clear, attractive drawings with standard recognizable figures.

Pros

We use Dynascape as the base software for all of our conceptual designs and for our crews to use as contruction drawings. From a client perspective the designs are accurate, appear beautifully hand drawn and look professional. For our crews, the line weights and figures are easily recognizable and accurate.

Cons

The integration to a 3d product is time consuming and archaic.

Ease of use. Especially enjoying the new sketch up overlays.

Cons

Like it all! I’m not a tech person but I can hardly remember hand drafting. This is the only cad based landscape program I have ever used and I am so satisfied I have no need to look for anything else.

Ive attended a few webinars, that to be honest i am not happy with. I get one nugget of good information or a tip. Ill be there are 10 functions that DynaScape has that I dont use. I wish there was some other form of teaching that would allow me to be comfortable with all uses and functions of the software.

Pros

It is all I really know. Im sure AUTOCAD would be a viable option for us, just to big of a shift to switch. It took some time to be familiar with the software, but im totally happy with it.

Cons

I am a Mac user. Use Parallels Desktop to be able to use this version. But I have a lot of glitches saving files . Simply wish Dynascape had a Mac version or cloud version that could be used on any computer anywhere.

Not impressed.

Pros

There's nothing I really like about this software. It does function I suppose.

Cons

There's too many to really detail. It's obtuse and difficult to use. It functions like no other software normally used in today's workplace. None of the normal gui style interfaces are here. Instead the drawing program is basically a CAD program from the eighties that had some landscaping details kludged into it. The data base for bidding and job reports is also old time nonsense crammed into a semi-modern package. You save job reports and then they aren't there. Every time they 'update' the software, they basically just add a click or two to something that was already taking five clicks to do and should only be taking one.

Overall we've been a customer for more than 10 years. We would like to see more frequent updates to the software, and listening to consumer feedback. Most of the DS Design hasn't seen notable changes in the last 4-5 years, and some of these asks that we have are very common with other landscape design programs.

Pros

Can produce detailed construction plans, great 2-D color renderings, good variety of figures to place within drawings

Cons

Importing PDF's and scaling the plans. Once you move the scale changes and have to rescale. Not being able to easily input lengths when doing linework and creating baseplans/designs. Should be able to snap to a crossing line on the ortho (always have to click past, then change line location or trim). NEED hotkeys for commands. Add more to figure library (specifically plantings) Smooth Polylines and curves are often too tight. Editing Text labels after insertion. Color integration into a single program in the near future?

Pros

plant symbols, line drawing is easy, the integration for 3D is good

Cons

There is none that I can recall right now but it crashes quite often.

Reasons for choosing DynaSCAPE

Easiest to use and the plant database is great especially for Zone 1, 2, and 3 for the canadian Prairies
