Pros: Oracle Database aligns with the topics you learned in your Intro to Databases class. It has tables, columns, keys, indexes, triggers, and all the things you want to avoid in your modern applications.

Cons: It is big, resource-intensive, expensive, hard to maintain, hard to patch, unreliable, impossible to distribute without an equally cumbersome and expensive add-on, and it keeps your applications mired in the past.

Overall: I got a working database for my application from this software, but there could be so much more for that price using modern concepts.

My experience with the Oracle software is very good.

Pros: Oracle database is very easy to use and handle all type of data it supports Joins, unlike Mongo Db.its interface is good and intelligence technique is very good

Cons: It goes slow while we run multiple select and insert command that's why it is not good for the huge project and which have a large amount of data.

Pros: Oracle database is good for maintaining the data and it has full feature of security so that no one can hack it. it has a beautiful interface and features easy to handle.

Cons: sometimes it goes hang and take a lot of time to open the database and sometimes says the wrong credential if we enter the right credentials so this is the little bit bug.

Pros: The most I like about Oracle DB is a stable DB, easy to program objects (packages, procedures, functions, triggers, views) using pl/sql language, easy to create and mantein data base structures (tables, indexs, constraints) and it´s easy to access data using sql sentences (insert, update, delete)

Cons: The least I like about this is that every time you migrate to a new Oracle DB version you have to modify some DB programs ir order to adjust performance.

Pros: Oracle Database is very stable and can handle large amount of data efficiently. It is pretty much secure and is available on cloud as well.

Cons: The price of it is very hefty. Installing and setting it up is a pain point as the entire process is time and space consuming. These two areas are something that Team Oracle can work upon.

Overall: Customer information is stored in Oracle database on which we are continuously working upon.

Pros: It is comprehensive in terms of the types of data that can be collected, and does allow easy generation of multiple options for one events (i.e. the same event that occurs on multiple days, where registrants choose a specific day).

Cons: Data input is a very manual process. It is not always intuitive. Inputting secondary contacts leaves a lot of room for error in delineating communications preferences.

Pros: The overwhelming capabilities! We stored terabytes of weather data in our Oracle database. It was a complex project, due to the amounts of data, but easy to use once I figured it out.

Cons: There are many, many levels of complexities to Oracle. I think it is the nature of the beast, so that is part of the complexity.

Pros: Oracle is the object-relational database engine most used worldwide.
It can run on all platforms, from a PC to a supercomputer. It is a super complete DBMS, with a high degree of performance, stability and scalability, supports all the functions expected of a server is a very complete database design language (PL / SQL) that allows implementing "active" designs , with triggers and stored procedures, with a fairly powerful declarative referential integrity. It allows to implement the security of the database efficiently and effectively through the management of users, roles and passwords. It allows the use of partitions to improve efficiency, replication and even certain versions support the administration of distributed databases. The server can be run on a multitude of operating systems. The great support that the organization offers its users. It has tools that allow the database administrator to perform its function efficiently and effectively. It has tools that make the backup of the database very simple. Great capacity to restore the database and very fast recovery, in addition to having a wide type of data which facilitates the design of the database

Cons: What I like least is that it is a bit expensive. Another problem is the need for adjustments. A common mistake is to think that it is enough to install Oracle on a server and directly plug in client applications. A misconfigured Oracle can be desperately slow. Misconfigured Oracle can be desperately slow.

Overall: Really for me it has been very satisfactory to develop applications with this DBMS, because it has made the work more pleasant and simple, besides having the peace of mind that the database is very secure

Pros: Oracle's powerful relational database engine can scale up from a small server to a huge server farm and has famed reliability features. I like its support for multicore and multi-server environments and how well it integrates with just about any enterprise-grade application you can think of.

Cons: It's a bit pricey, though it has a pay-as-you-grow pricing model, so it may not be a problem for you.

Pros: Oracle is being used across the organization. Our product has been built based upon Oracle features. For online transactions, read consistency, performance, recovery and other tools are the key features. Our product is quite complex and quite heavy on processing. We run POC for similar products but those are nowhere near to Oracle like Maria DB, Postgre, SQL server, MySQL etc.

Cons: Unexpected LOAD due to features - If some parallel server parameters are not fixed wisely, the system can overload server/DB and DB will stick.

Pros: Every Oracle job I have worked has had a solid
proactive team that is well read on standards and best practices
and has many years of experience.
Oracle is definitely one of the best implementations of RDBMS. It manages memory very efficiently and can handle complex JOIN operations which easilly cripple MySQL and MsSQL. Oracle has a great Architecture, because it is very easy to organise different applications data very well. I think the best plus for me is the SQL Engine that Oracle possess, it is very advanced, making it the only database to operate a data warehouse! Running complex queries on Oracle is just easy.Other features like Materialized Views, PL/SQL e.t.c. make Oracle have value for money

Cons: Unintuitive performance tuning tools, and finicky optimizer.
SQL*Plus with a built-in tabular format output; useful for rows that span across many lines. No, Grid Control SQL Output just doesn't cut it; it's a static output of the entire table. It doesn't have the powerful SQL*Plus commands.

Overall: It is our main software work platform that we commercialize. We have been using this tool for more than 15 years.

Pros: Free access to Xpress version makes it easy to check Oracle reproductions without having to deal with the pains of paid database trials like IBM AS400 nonsense

Cons: Needs Oracle experience to run basic tasks in their DBMS versus MS SQL's DBMS which has options right from the start on creating/deleting databases

Overall: Allowed testing for Oracle 11 G when I used express version

Pros: We use this software to store a lot of our internal company data. It is easy to set up and the server install went very well.

Cons: Does have a learning curve to learn how to call your data to and from the database. Also making sure there is proper error checking when calling and posting data does take some time to add.

Overall: The ease of storage of our data makes this an awesome database to use.

Pros: The best part is the availability of many options for users which makes it very easy to use. It has functions such as full torrence and high performance. It can be used with small as well as large projects. The backup facility is amazing and the learning curve is amazing. It is most stable database I ever seen.

Cons: It's very costly think before you use. Not all businesses need this but it makes the task easy for those who can afford it.

Overall: As I am not very used to SQL queries for every small task, oracle database made it easy for me. I have used it in all projects based on webservices and it proved to be robust . It can handle enormous data with so much fancy functionality. My team just love it and so does me.

Pros: The high availability features like RAC, the replication features like GoldenGate, the different reporting capabilities using views and DBA_ views, the manageability using Oracle Enterprise Manager, all these make it the most loved Database flavor among its customers. Other flavors of databases are dwarfed when compared to its functionality.

Cons: Oracle RDBMS gives too much importance to data consistency, and can sometimes look complex when trying to solve simple recovery issues. That is one reason why some customers are afraid to use this otherwise powerful software.

Overall: Oracle RDBMS is a very vast topic, and it has been an adventure for me to explore its features and how it can be used to simplify the business needs of my customers.

I use Oracle everyday to communicate with other departments.

Pros: Has a lot of functionality. There is a lot you can do with Oracle. It helps remind people when changes are coming and keep all information up to date in one location.

Cons: The interface is not very intuitive. There are several times where you have to click on multiple things so that you can get where you want. Also, you have to know specifically what you want and what it is called in Oracle to get anywhere. Additionally, the interface isn't very aesthetically pleasing, which makes it look old school.

Pros: Perhaps the most well tested relational database for large installations. It can handle a huge amount of data and perform well under load
Reliability!!! Without a doubt, the Oracle database series (I think it's up to Oracle 12c now) is the `godfather' of commercial transaction and government RDBMS software. With it's different version releases, the software has been around close to 40 years!!! It's the originsl flagship product of the Oracle corporation.

Cons: It's expensive. So, if you don't need to support a lot of data and transactions per second you should seriously consider a cheaper option like MySQL or a nosql database like MongoDB.

Installation Time per individual instance!!! I've automated the whole thing from a fresh install of a Linux Operating system and it still takes at least ~3.5 hours to install it, although I've done it in as little as 2.5 hours, but it depends on where the package repository is, and how version control is being handle! (POINT THE MATTER IS, IT CAN TAKE VERY LONG TIME FOR MERE INSTALLATION) On Windows operating systems it can take up to 8 hours or more, your first time around!

Pros: 1. Within the Oracle databases, the application can use multiple schemas.
2. Database tables are assigned to table spaces such that their extent size reflects the size of the table
3.Ability to create all functions and procedures inside Packages [No stand Alone Implementation], and those which define the interface of the package to the outside can be declared in the package header
4. By using Dynamic SQL we¿ve replaced bulky queries by input based optimized queries.
5. Using Oracle¿s ¿Advanced Queuing¿ we implemented Asynchronous calls in the database enabling us to run processes in the background, when a separate process got executed in the foreground.

Cons: These days capabilities like Oracle are being provided by other open source DB's like Postgres etc at a very nominal cost.

Pros: User Friendliness is the best part of oracle database. We can have large installations and it will perform fine.

Cons: Costly than the others in market and installation times may be huge. It also requires a big partition allotted to it for best functionality.

Overall: I have worked on several projects on Java platform while using Struts2 framework. I always used Oracle for handling my databases because I have to select the best and at the same time the client needs must be taken care off. My first freelancer project was to normalise the database of a person and I did it with ease while importing the whole data to oracle. Trust me user friendly medium saves alot of effort which may seem unnecessary for basic tasks. In my view one should use Oracle for database handling if they do not want any complexities on their end.

Recommendations to other buyers: For smaller firms, it is not necessary to use Oracle as long the data is less and load is in control but once the load is more , Oracle is an only option. Larger firms must use Oracle because it is best in the market.
